Hey, you have to attach a link, so that I could play the game. Tag me after u attach, and I would love to rate your game

cinar 2020-10-05 12:32

game link is missing.

bobparis75 2020-10-05 17:27

GG for the game !

shipster 2020-10-05 17:38

Funny idea, the humor is there, but replay-ability is low. Nice mood, clean graphics.

adiwan 2020-10-06 05:28

@flashcash0402 @cinar It's my first ludum dare jam. I wanted to prepare the page beforehand but I somehow managed to publish it before the submission. I was a little bit confused. However the game is available now!

adiwan 2020-10-06 05:35

@shipster Thanks! I was very ambitious and wanted multiple levels to make it more replayable but I combated with this one level. Placing over 600 items and rearranging them took longer than anticipated... Haha. Seriously. If I knew it took so long I had written an automatic placement tool to pre-arrange them.

iluvatar 2020-10-06 07:51

So funny! The graphics are really beautiful and the music is just on spot. I wish there were more levels, but for a LD it is just enough. Love your entry, good job :)

givit-game-studios 2020-10-06 08:11

This was fun. Also a good take on the theme. I think this would make a great mobile game.

pixelpaw 2020-10-06 08:12

I like the theme interpretation. It's a fun concept and a solid prototype. Maybe add some things like powerups or special items that do certain things. Maybe even add other people that fly around when you hit them!

alexey-malinin 2020-10-06 08:13

It is very funny! One of the projects that we planned to do was very similar to this one) Only it was necessary to jump over obstacles, and not shoot down everything)))

wiskey 2020-10-06 10:19

haha you cant go wrong with ragdoll physics. Nice game and idea, everything works as it should. Well done! we need more games like this! xD

lelulagames 2020-10-06 10:21

The music makes this so much better. I loved it! Lots of fun.

rohezal 2020-10-06 10:55

It is a lot of fun to get rid of the sheriff. After a few tries on windows, I decided to try the linux version and I was able to get to 70 points.

What are your high scores, people?

chillebigpp 2020-10-06 15:06

One of the best I've played so far. Very amusing concept. The graphics and the music are amazing. Good job.

gelgavish 2020-10-06 20:15

I was hoping someone will make a game like this :D Swingin the sheriff around is just so satesfaing. The game lacks a goal a little bit but the score system is nice as well. The game is very polished.

Overall I had a really good time playing this game, good job! :)

elbbard 2020-10-06 20:21

Fun game, good choice of assets and music. You should consider mentioning where you got them. Good job anyway :)

adiwan 2020-10-06 20:32

@gelgavish Thank you. In the early stages I imagined a "health bar" for the sheriff and the goal was to knock him off as fast as possible. I thought it was more exciting to turn it the other way around and pressure the player with a hard time limit to do the same and give points instead.

marinee 2020-10-06 23:23

Something like Red Died Redemption 2))) very nice and very cool graphics and mechanics with horses!

hengen 2020-10-07 08:30

Love the concept and music!

acropolise 2020-10-07 08:40

The game feels good, the vibe is great and the gameplay is decent, I think you should've transfer the idea to something more related to the theme, but overall gj!

wobbleblocks 2020-10-07 10:24

honse game good

adiwan 2020-10-07 10:42

@wobbleblocks It's a good and dependable honse.

voidsay 2020-10-07 10:58

I feel a strong asset store energy with this one. Nevertheless, very fun to play!

tom-a 2020-10-07 11:14

WOW very impressed with the production values on this one. Impossible not to laugh at the poor guy getting dragged around behind that hose. AWESOME

adiwan 2020-10-07 11:21

@voidsay Yeah... I cannot 3D model for the life of me. I'm more proficient with CAD modeling than anything organic and artistic. If I had to 3D model everything the voting period would be over.

voidsay 2020-10-07 11:34

@adiwan That's the reason we use premade assets. Sometimes spending your time making models just costs you more in the end.

Also don't be so harsh on yourself. There is a difference between someone who spent 100 hours and someone spending 10.000 learning 3d modeling. Just because you haven't done something for very long doesn't mean you're bad at it. I might claim that I draw poorly, but if you ask me when I actually drew the last time the truth becomes apparent. You can't be good in something you don't do. That's just how it is.

thundersalt 2020-10-07 14:25

Really solid concept, and the physics were fun to mess around with. Good work!

recyx 2020-10-07 14:26

What a great spin on the theme. It took a few tries to get the golden horseshoe, but it was really fun! The map was really nice with lot's of opportunitys to thrash that sheriff. This is definetly one of the best games i played this ludum dare, good job!

pschichtel 2020-10-07 14:28

fun little game. the ropes go wild occasionally, but that's almost to be expected. the sounds could be a bit more impactful

adiwan 2020-10-07 14:41

@pschichtel Physics games need to freak out from time to time. It's their whole appeal

sneakysushi 2020-10-07 14:42

Good use of premade assets. I had a lot of fun smacking that sheriff around, haha. The rope rubber-banded a few times, but that's probably unavoidable with ragdoll physics like these.

roboshamit 2020-10-07 19:20

Really well polished. Enjoyed the experience. Maybe make the horse a ragdoll too?

adiwan 2020-10-07 19:24

@roboshamit Hm... The human dragging the horse and smashing into things...

remzo 2020-10-07 19:29

Haha, what a great idea! Love that it just looks funny even in a screenshot. A few minor things like dust particles on the horse and maybe some grunts/noises for the sheriff would really increase the level of juice. Nice one!

adiwan 2020-10-08 08:08

I've added now a WebGL version https://adiwan.itch.io/lasso-loop-whiplash-webgl I've uploaded it just for convenience and accessibility reasons. It has some unpleasant graphical glitches I have to investigate. So, please use only the executables and not the WebGL version for the rating as they offer the better experience.

edalbung 2020-10-08 15:57

Really fun "cowboy" game :D

Here are my feedback:

_Positive points - The horse is pleasant to control - Great graphics - The music fits well with the action - It is really satisfying to smash the sheriff on things

_Negative points - Sometimes I felt that I wanted more different things to smash => Suggestion: When I played to your game I thought about Katamari Damacy, so I imagined that your sheriff could be covered with tar if you hit a barrel of tar. Then after sometimes he will get bigger and bigger, so he could smash more big things like houses.

Overall: Nice work!

adiwan 2020-10-08 16:14

@edalbung Haha! I like the way you think. That's a different game for a different jam. Next time (when appropriate) it'll be a horse-powered sticky wrecking ball.

narom42 2020-10-09 17:02

Funny game, the theme interpretation is on point (We have one similar haha). I liked graphics and sounds that matched really well together. How did you manage to make a "fluid" rope ? :) Thanks for your game !

adiwan 2020-10-09 17:08

@narom42 In Unity I used a chain of "Configurable Joints" with "Capsule Colliders" and "Rigidbody" Components. Each segment of a rigged tube had a set of these above. Then each of the ends was attached to the horse and man via "Fixed Joints". Beware: Do not use too many of them otherwise it gets unstable very fast  In my first attempt I used 20 segments and it was flipping out in seconds.

narom42 2020-10-09 17:14

@adiwan Alright thanks ! We were happy with our rope but it is really straight ; I may try to give it some fluidity sometime around and I could try your advice :) .

ghuyajil 2020-10-12 14:14

Nicely done; could have benefited from a few more rules and objectives, but it looks great!

adiwan 2020-10-12 16:20

@ghuyajil Definitely! I imagined Tony Hawk's Pro Skater style of objectives if I had more time. "Push the goat on the rails", "water the flowers" (demolishing the water tower), etc...
