I'm not entirely sure what I was meant to do. I did manage to bring the child his baloon, so I imagine the rest are similar fetch-quests, although getting that one in particular took most of the time. Now that I write this out though, you never intended anyone to even have a chance of getting it on the first try did you? You wanted to ensure they had to use the loop ;)

Definitely not something I would've thought of, the mood and audio were good, graphics were simplistic but served there purpose. I'd call this one a success!

lestat 2020-10-05 00:02

@bradyg Yeah, if you get them all first try, there is no loop :p By the way, maybe you should finish it, it does have an ending.

eriku 2020-10-05 00:57

Made it to the end! Took a few tries to memorize the locations. Just so you're aware, it seems like each loop there's more cars, making crossing the road trickier after a few. Also, I built up enough loops that it seems my FPS was dropping severely, and it ultimately crashed. Beat it the next time opening with a clean start. Nice graphical effects with the crosshatched shadows.

rolly 2020-10-05 00:58

... But the cop said nobody would get hurt... :(

It is a very nice entry. Even with simple game mechanics, it is nice wandering around just to appreciate the pen-drawn-like models and the music. It just missed a few more sound effects and the audio would be perfect.

It's difficult in 48h to actually create a good mood, but you sir achieved it.

Nice entry !

lestat 2020-10-05 01:12

@eriku Thank you for your feedback. I have fixed that bug. No more crashes, low fps or more cars than intended :p

@rolly Thank you! :)

thezingthing 2020-10-05 01:54

Really liked the graphics. Even though they were simplistic, they really helped set the mood alongside the music. I can definitely see how the message at the end ties in with being "stuck in a loop". Really interesting take on the theme

lestat 2020-10-05 02:05

@thezingthing Thank you :)

flashcash0402 2020-10-05 03:31

It was really tricky! But It was fun and awesome! If u add some more quirky audio! This will be the best game I have seen!

lestat 2020-10-05 03:36

@flashcash0402 definitely more audio would be good, Technically I still have 18 hours to add more stuff :p

flashcash0402 2020-10-05 03:38

@lestat thats awesome.. lets ace it then

flopo 2020-10-05 07:23

Nice game. I wish there were actual people instead of capsules. Still nice work!

sergei201613 2020-10-05 08:23

Best game I've seen on this jam! Despite the small lag. I wish I'd saved her.

coderaurus 2020-10-05 09:32

Nice game. I liked the visuals and the story.

I felt the time limit is very narrow. As if the only way to win is by speedrunning it. The automatic panning of camera gave me headache, moving where I didn't want it to on its own.

lestat 2020-10-05 10:27

@flopo @sergei201613 @coderaurus Thank you. I have fixed the automatic panning issue. Also, the reason it's too little time it's so the player doesn't get out of the loop so easily (especially on the first try, It wouldn't be any loop :p).

notsomecats 2020-10-05 11:18

Very nice graphics, love the background. Would get run over by a car again. Amazing work for 48 hours (::

lestat 2020-10-05 11:40

@notsomecats Thank you.

dakke 2020-10-05 11:42

Looks good, i loaded it up but a little movement with the mouse and it does a 360, i have very low fps on my computer. Do you handle the physics in FixedUpdate or Update?

lexyvil 2020-10-05 11:42

The Audio was amazing, so was the mood and graphics~

danial-jumagaliyev 2020-10-05 12:03

It was fairly tricky but I enjoyed the atmosphere of the game, and yeah you definitely nailed the mood ngl. I also see that you used those beans in your previous ludum dare ^^

vollfeiw 2020-10-05 12:18

I expected the ending to be honest. However, for the game, nice beans, nice shadows (damn, they're so good), and the music, the mood of the game is so good. Congrats.

Also, teaching your people where the brake is could save here i think.

lestat 2020-10-05 12:39

@dakke I dont handle any physics myself. It's unity internal. If it's slow on your pc, it's most likely because of the volumetric lights.

@lexyvil @danial-jumagaliyev @vollfeiw Thank you :)

aterlamia 2020-10-05 13:47

I like the mood you set in this game, also the art style is very different but works. I would like an exit button so i don't have to alt-f4 and an option to skip the screen in between the loops. But this is a very will done game

newbiedev 2020-10-05 15:23

very interesting take on the theme. It was kind of hard but eventually made it to the end. More audio would solidify the experience!!

captaindreamcast 2020-10-05 15:27

Very beautiful game, a wonderful take on the message. That's definitely something everyone can relate to, being stuck in a loop reflecting on something after something bad happens. Your game really nailed the atmosphere on that, it's great.

I think the first thing I want to mention is the color, the mostly black and white palette really helped accentuate the important things with color (especially the red objects). I also really liked the scratchy (sorry if that's the wrong word) texture of the geometry in the town, that gave it a very picturebook-esque feeling. Finally, what really rounded up the atmosphere was the music piece, which added a very somber mood to it all. I think the ending worked well with the overall message, I think if you had shoehorned in a happy ending it may have undermined the overall message, so I think the ending you put in was a good call. All in all, great job, very well-done take on the theme!

rhoff95 2020-10-05 15:31

Would love to see a WebGL version!

gorr 2020-10-05 15:48

Really beautiful and touching story. Visuals and sounds are awesome too. I enjoyed playing this game

remzo 2020-10-05 16:22

Nice submission! I think the time limit is a little bit too tight as it was a bit frustrating to me to barely make it even though I knew what to do in the 2nd loop. Art is simple but it works for the mood.

lestat 2020-10-05 16:28

Thank you.

spiderhead20 2020-10-05 17:09

The art and the sounds are beautiful :3 and the story part from the game feels so interesting, the fact that this game takes you into a time loop adds a layer of fun. My only problems are with the performance, maybe my computer its not that good, second, the camera movement feels a little sensitive, makes it a little hard to look around.

bobparis75 2020-10-05 17:26

The atmosphere of the game is great.

lestat 2020-10-05 18:05

@spiderhead20 Thank you for your feedback. I have made the game more performant, also decreased sensitivity.

@bobparis75 Thank you.

duck-reaction 2020-10-05 19:24

Nice work !

Characters have a simple design but very cute ! There is some glitch on houses 3d models. The player seems too slow to me.

I enjoyed play it.

bereg 2020-10-05 20:08

That's deep. I like the theme and overall mood of the game, the ending is great. There are some visual glitches like flickering polygons and cars stuck together. But overall it's a great and emotional game.

lestat 2020-10-05 21:41

Thank you.

yeti-kid 2020-10-05 22:06

Truly amazing and get so many feelings from this game! Honestly perfect and made me well up inside!

lestat 2020-10-05 22:17

Thank you :)

effarek 2020-10-05 23:08

Took me 2 or 3 loops before getting it right but it was great, I especially liked the music

lestat 2020-10-06 00:40

Thank you :)

binaryprinciple 2020-10-06 01:03

I really like the game, the movement is very smooth and the music fits very well. After several tries I managed to save her! Maybe next time reduce the light intensity. I won't how many times I got hit by a car. Let's say nobody saved me :D

bakemonomori 2020-10-06 01:07

Nice mood, cool graphics, I really enjoyed this entry!

lestat 2020-10-06 01:19

Thank you!

alpharock6 2020-10-06 06:49

Really great job with the atmosphere :) Even with little capsule models they fit the mood of the world very well. Nice submission!

elpadlos 2020-10-06 07:42

What a nice game. I really liked it. Great job!

melvinng 2020-10-06 13:28

Nicely done! Great job! Visuals are pretty good and audio is great!

fermingimpel 2020-10-06 13:57

Really good game and art, but it lag so hard sometimes, and when you loses and play again, it uses A LOT of RAM (12gb in one moment in my pc)

sidonie-go 2020-10-06 16:30

Congrats :)

lestat 2020-10-06 16:36

Thank you :)

johanhelsing 2020-10-06 18:00

Really cool and interesting graphics. Also very moody! The transitions timing after timeout also worked really well.

I tried quite a few times before I gave up, but maybe I'm just bad a this.

zero-ichi 2020-10-06 20:32

The mood is ... soothing but sad, very nice game

teronk 2020-10-06 21:27

Beautiful game, nice atmosphere. I wish there is more time available to collect all the things. Really well made!

lestat 2020-10-06 21:29

Thanks :)

matchaflavor 2020-10-07 00:47

The story was pretty touching and the mood and general vibe of the game is nice, though I think the texturing on the environment was out of place with the simplistic models.

Other than that, it's a short, sweet game that gets its point across and doesn't try to be anything else but that. I like it :)

lestat 2020-10-07 00:48

Thanks.

finalforeach 2020-10-07 11:38

Wonderful game, and I didn't expect to be moved by that ending!

arad-hamidsamiee 2020-10-08 17:05

Wow, what an experience, very cool shades, too. nice piano track. game itself needs polishing, but who cares when the narration is this strong? picturing real loops in real lives. Also loved the models!

kevin-prehn 2020-10-09 00:57

very pretty game! sadly it was so pretty that my computer froze a lot while playing :(

narom42 2020-10-09 16:49

Very moody, I enjoyed the music that suits perfectly what the story is telling. THanks for that !

gilad-bar-ilan 2020-10-09 17:11

Great Game!!!

lestat 2020-10-09 21:00

Thank you.

bumdag 2020-10-09 23:31

Hi, Thank you for spending the time to vote for mine and in return, I seeked yours. I really like the feel of the game and the time you sharing an experience with us in this medium. Very touching. Even though using primatives objects, you were able to bring them to life, give them life. Well done! Thank you. Does this experience reflect something you are going through may I ask?

lestat 2020-10-10 04:41

@bumdag Not enterily. I haven't lost a loved one (death), but my crush pretty much just ignores me u.u If you have time, check my LD46 entry, it is more accurate to that. Thank you for the feedback.

jk5000 2020-10-21 08:08

Overall a interesting and pretty well made little game.
