LD39 — Running out of Power

Recapitate by superpokeunicorn 2017-08-01T05:04:44Z

Nice job, specially in gameplay and art. The mechanics are fun and could be awesome with some months of work.

Dungeon Ruler by LudumAnthony 2017-08-06T12:17:25Z

Cool pixelart and nice gameplay concept. I had an small bug: after replaying it two times (one normal, one boss-only), in the first level the door didn't show after killing all snails. Good job!

You're Winding Me Up Harvey by nanolotl 2017-08-06T14:25:46Z

I have tried all the links but when I try to run the game (Windows 10, 1440x900) I only see a black screen. Hope I can play it at some point, the game looks great and the comments are encouraging!

Buddies Bad Day by elit3dgaming 2017-08-01T04:47:15Z

Nice, it remainded me of my DROD days. Short and easy (not that I'm complaining).

Plugging Away by AfroAnt 2017-08-06T12:53:16Z

I really loved this one. Polished, well balanced, and it also has the best approach to the theme I've seen so far. I couldn't stop playing until I returned home safe. It felt like some kind of low scale FTL. Great job, games like this make LD what it is!

The Tertielemental Wizard by ectucker1 2017-08-02T03:04:59Z

I had a great time finishing this game. The pixelart graphics are really cool and the gameplay has the base to be great. It would be nice to be able to recover mana between levels. Good work!

Voltage Velocity by 0AS0 2017-08-04T22:08:32Z

I like the straight and plane style of the game, and the fact that it was made under 10 hours adds value. It would be nice having random generated levels.

Last Wish by leesoar07 2017-08-06T13:27:34Z

The art style was the first thing that caught my eye, and music fits. The gameplay can be a bit frustrating but once you understand it it's ok. It's hard to see the theme in the game without reading the comments, but very good entry.

Zombies and RVs by pixelgriffin 2017-08-01T06:04:33Z

Neat! Very polished audio and graphics. The physics were ankward but that's understandable.

Mayor on a Roll by maniacanshul 2017-08-06T13:07:10Z

Funny game with cute graphics and responsive controls. It felt good to sprint :D.

Woundlings by DavidByers 2017-08-02T00:33:07Z

Once you get use to the controls they are surprisingly nice. Funny game!

Lights Out by Emery 2017-08-06T14:15:09Z

Things floating in the background are nice, and the ambient depending on the power left is an interesting addition too. I would have liked to see the batteries at all times, or at least something indicating where will they appear, but if I imagine that the ship is too big and indicators consume power, that's ok :P.

Energizing Mini Quest by hoogmin 2017-08-02T02:27:42Z

Nice work. Those barriers moving at different rates were a good challenge.

NUP-5 by Seeley 2017-08-02T01:26:22Z

Great graphics and music.

TRIAL OF THE 3 SUNS by Godot35 2017-08-01T06:15:27Z

Loved the Game Boy style, and the learning curve is nice, great work! Btw I reached a level (a couple after the eye boss) where I repeatedly died at the final door with no aparent reason.

Think before you jump by Delalandii 2017-08-02T02:41:13Z

@ranner198 It is not supposed to crash :/. The screen should go black giving you the option to replay it. Thanks to all for playing!

Think before you jump by Delalandii 2017-08-02T03:34:21Z

@ludumanthony You unlocked the normal ending (power-meter in yellow). To unlock the good ending, you should finish with the power-meter above 75%, i.e. colored in green.

You're absolutely right regarding the level design, unfortunately I was running out of time. Thanks for your feedback!

Think before you jump by Delalandii 2017-08-06T21:55:27Z

@satanos Sorry to hear that. I have played (and installed) many LD games labelled as 'unsafe' by my protection software, but I'm not encouraging you to do that if you doesn't want to.

@junber Thanks for playing and for the detailed feedback! There are two endings after repairing the machine with enough power: the normal ending (battery in orange) and the good ending (battery in green).

Think before you jump by Delalandii 2017-08-08T14:55:44Z

@satanos Many thanks! Let me know where can I see the video once it's finished :).

Think before you jump by Delalandii 2017-08-23T17:47:37Z

@satanos Thanks again! It's exciting seeing my entry reviewed in a Jam compilation video :). I've been able to translate about 50%.

Catalango by Hikari Kyuubi 2017-08-02T02:35:40Z

The graphics and music help with the funny atmosphere of the game. The gameplay is also enjoyable, although the jump needs work. Great overall work.

Saito's Transgression by Kapricorn Media 2017-08-02T04:15:23Z

Overwhelming art, graphics and music alike. Sure the progress is a bit slow, but if you leave for a moment the frenetic Ludum Dare game-playing rate and take it easy you won't regret.

Wave by logiraffe_shawn 2017-08-02T03:51:23Z

Beautiful and immersive contemplative experience. It lacks of challenge but who cares.

Space Bear Panic by Chris Coe 2017-08-01T05:35:09Z

I like the ambient and the maze. I finished the game without using "Z" though :P.

Dont ask me to stop being a outdated junkrobot by Ludic Studios 2017-08-04T20:42:37Z

This is the funnest and most addictive game I have played so far in LD39. When I pressed Shift I couldn't see neither slowmo nor special attacks (even with the full three bars), don't know why. Great work though.

Defender of the Energy! by BesSlaaneshi 2017-08-02T01:48:54Z

Great game! One of the most polished I have tried so far.

Growing Pains by ctjet99 2017-08-01T22:52:07Z

Great work! Straight, fun and polished. Could perfectly be a normal indie game out of LD. Congratulations to the team.

There's No Place Like Home by Remzo 2017-08-06T13:58:20Z

I finally escaped! Nice game with a simple but well developed concept. It seems harder than it is when you start, but after playing several times I don't think the complaints about difficulty are justified.

Dorgus Needs Power! by WillData 2017-08-03T21:14:44Z

Great job! The game mechanics are well implemented and fit perfectly. As some users have adressed, sometimes you start moving at a high speed (horizontally) and you can't stop. Other than that, I really enjoyed the game.

Exodus by Astrojone 2017-08-02T00:17:56Z

I liked it a lot. Very immersive a feels compact. It makes you want more.
