Very interesting game! I like the concept. Graphics are very pleasant to look at and music is a nice addition aswell! Biggest problem I have with this game are the controls, it's quite counter intuitive. Though that is something to experiment with and that's time we don't have here unfortunately :(. Very nice game regardless!

isaac-hisey 2022-10-03 16:47

Thank you very much! I agree the controls are not great keyboard wise and there are some strange choices for the game pad. Wish we had a bit more time to flesh out the controls and do balancing and upgrades! Really appreciate your comment and time!

aj-studio 2022-10-03 18:06

ow wow

You have my 5 stars

isaac-hisey 2022-10-04 01:17

Thank you very much AJ

lautilaj 2022-10-04 02:14

Good game! Come and see mine and give it a rate!!

paul-avallone 2022-10-04 02:22

Funny concept. The controls are not intuitive on keyboard I would probably have made it all mouse clicks. Graphics and music are really well done. Made me nostalgic for tamagotchis. Good job.

isaac-hisey 2022-10-04 02:37

Thanks Lautilaj! Will do!

Thanks Paul, completely agree about the controls, keyboard should have been more intuitive. I knew it was a problem but ran out of time to think more on it and fix so it release a bit jumbled. Graphics and Music is all JusticMoose! Tamagotchi was the inspiration so love to see that! Appreciate the feedback!

The game background looks pretty neat! Too bad it isn't interactive though. I think more time devoted to juice (UI sound effects, in-game help like tooltips) would have helped. I couldn't figure out how to look after the cryptomon as their health just constantly drained. Was this an unimplemented feature?

isaac-hisey 2022-10-04 04:01

@congusbongus Thanks for giving it a try! You should be able to pull up the cryptomon you've purchased and use the keyboard to move the selector over a given need and use the space bar to increase the need up by one per 10 seconds. If no Cyrptomon have been purchased the menu for them won't pull up. Defs wish we had more time for UX/UI! A number of features were discussed and planned for user feedback that we couldn't implement.

If you choose to give it another try take a look at the help menu controls. Purchase a cyrptomon using the first menu and then attempt to pull them up and care for them. Appreciate your time and feedback regardless!

Really cool game although i felt that it was a little confusing navigating the UI as there was a lot of delay. But was that just on my end?

psalms77 2022-10-04 06:15

Great idea for a jam game! the concept is fun. although I think the mouse/keyboard control is not very intuitive and there's too much text in 'help'. Add some image to guide the player would be better. also, adding some small animations or changes in background would make the game feels much better! the player would actually get a feedback about the money they earned can imporve their lives(upgrade laptop etc..).

MONS.PNG I bought so many cryptomons LOL, I died with 43k monies BAHAHA! I dont even know how many i had! i wish i counted it before i died! Overall a super fun and addicting game, amazing art and super cute cryptomons! the whole game is pretty well balanced in terms of multitasking what the cryptomon needs and then having to take care of myself. Im glad having to take care of myself wasn't as hard so I can play with my cryptomon :) But in the end of course as you can see, I still got carried away and died xD I had so many at some point my whole screen was flashing every second cause i had that many cryptomon to take care of! I also like how the cryptomon were randomized so it was so exciting to see what i'd get next. I think what would make it less confusing is, maybe a more clear controls screen? It was hard to read all the controls and realize what did what, and what was actually for PC. I also didn't realize I was buying cryptomon at first, so i think a noise or even a notification popping up would have been less confusing. Then when I figured out what was going on and how to look at my cryptomon I had bought 5 XD! I think you don't need to hide the panels and just have them up (1 and 2) I kept both of mine open the whole tim. Then on the right panel, i think having it say (press q to see cryptomon) somewhere and having a counter for how many I had bought would be nice! Overall, getting through how to use the controls first was very confusing, but after getting used to them the game was really fun and quick paced! So having a bit more knowing what to press would be nice :D Great job, I loved this game a lot! I had so much fun I played for so long!!

I broke my fingers while trying to switch from mouse to keyboard and again. Despite this, cute and interesting multitask game/

eugenik 2022-10-04 15:01

great.

golin 2022-10-04 15:14

Love the smooth animation

isaac-hisey 2022-10-04 18:44

@ElmoEinstein The delay may be when closing the Cryptomon screens then pressing the button to open one of the two side menus. The Cryptomon screen holds the input until its animation is finished off screen which takes a few moments before those menus can function again. All that to say proly not just you unless its outside that then maybe but I'd guess it that over your end. Love the feedback, thank you for giving it a try!

@Psalms77 Agreed on all accounts! Thank you for the feedback it is appreciated!

@coolbeens So great to see how far you played into and that it brought joy! Agree on the controls really last minute and were pretty muddled! Love you enjoyed the randomness factor for the CMs. A notification system defs needed and a better help menu! I 100% agree with you and appreciate your feedback very much!

@later_named_w00f Apologies for the finger breakage! Thanks so much for the feedback and giving it a try! We'll be easier on the player next go round with the controls

@Eugenik Thank you very much!

@Golin Thank you very much!

My heartfelt thanks to all that voted and provided feedback!

I like the concept of this game of having to manage both your own health and that of your Cryptomons. Sadly I couldn't figure out how to attend to my Cryptomons needs, how do you select what you want to do with it? The square was around the apple, so I guess I just fed it a lot :). I tried all the controls in the help menu, but nothing seemed to move the selection.

isaac-hisey 2022-10-05 01:42

@last-angle The arrow keys on the keyboard should have moved the selector. If they did not that's certainly not on you. If using a controller the d=pad should have moved the selector over. Sorry to hear it did not work as intended for you :( Thank you very much for your feedback and time regardless!

she-wrote 2022-10-05 02:54

Not bad. But actually, I make no sense of this game. Sometimes don't know why my money disppear.

isaac-hisey 2022-10-06 23:22

@c14 Thank you for the feedback C14, every ten ticks (1 tick = 10 seconds) you must pay the costs or the player's bills. This is where the money is going. Player feedback definitely is a focal point for me to learn better. A notification system would have been a big win in that regard. Thank you again! :D

real-flamingicecubegames 2022-10-07 18:06

This is a fine game. The graphics are nice, same with the audio. The user interface is slightly clunky, but it gets the job done. The gameplay loop however, I can't really understand it but I still think its slightly addicting to keep the cryptomons alive. Only thing I could complain about is a slight lack of clarity with game mechanics but other than that it's a cool game.

isaac-hisey 2022-10-07 18:59

@real-flamingicecubegames Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback!

codey 2022-10-16 12:20

Nice little game, with great pixel art. Navigation was a bit confusing sometimes. It would be nice to have some kind of indicator to press Q to open the gadget. Well done!

@codey Thank you for playing and for the feedback!
