Beautiful visuals!
The mood was set really well with the sound and graphics! I got quite lost after a while not knowing what to really do. Still, a very solid jam game!
Really good entry! The art style is really nice, and there's an impressive amount of detail in the background. The the audio played well with the gameplay and visuals to produce the chilling atmosphere. There were a few really spooky moments that took me for a "loop."
> Daddy...?
Great work --- especially with such a large team I know it can be difficult to create a cohesive experience, but you guys did a great job.
Wow! The atmosphere on this game was so creepy, I loved it the sounds, the lighting and those glowing spider legs made things super frightening! well done :)
Great mood, great art, the jams topic of is executed successfully! Good job guys :)
The painting style is very atmospheric, the sound effects are very good, I don't know how to play.
"Space bar to change train side" is quite hard to get it. At this page "Switch view side" makes much more sense and don't really allows to get lost while trying to figure out what's going on in the game. So, I think it'd much better to replace text in control hint. Wonderful art and atmosphere! Really clear and beautiful character sprites and lights all around.
To sum up: perfect art, great atmosphere and hard-to-get meta and controls right after darkness had come
First rhymes before play are way to large and hard to read at large screens because of scaling. Font is wonderful, anyway!)
Thanks all for your returns, we are pleased and they will be helpfull !! @chakaramba I agree with your point, we'll figure out; thank you for this complete review !
Great atmosphere, the first time seeing the monster leg gave me a good scare not gonna lie. Beautiful art style, really fitting for the environment. I was a bit confused at switch view side and what it's supposed to mean. All in all, it sure feel like I'm stuck in the loop while waiting to be scare. Amazing work!
I agree with the other commenters, the switch side mechanic was confusing. It was hard to keep track of where I was and switching side made it worse. Also, why were there some switches that I couldn't flip? I don't know if it was a glitch but there was a switch that I couldn't interact with until I left the room and got lost a few times. I came back to it and it was interact-able. Was this a glitch or was it a different switch that was in an identical looking position?
The overall presentation was great though
@skleembof Do you remember in which wagoon this happened ? Normally, when you switch, it only change the camera point of view in the train, it doesn't change anything by itself. Also, leaving the wagoon while the objectives are not completed makes the wagoon to reset entierly. Thanks for your return anyway :) i'll try to figure it out !
@skleembof This was a feature XD In the last part of the game some switch can't be turned On if you haven't switch the others in the good order ^^ Thanks your for this review btw !!
Wow the art style really is at a high level and the sounds and music also give an eerie feeling to the whole story. As other people mentioned, switching views was a bit confusing. To combat that you might want to mirror one side so the brain doesn't have to adapt all the time and doesn't get lost. I also got stuck after a while not really knowing what to do next but that might be because I am not very good at solving puzzles. A very polished looking game. A huge compliment for everyone involved!
Love the mood. The art style is really cool and the music is amazing, great work!!
Oh my gosh, beautiful and so atmospheric
I liked your game my congratulations, I also did one if you want to know, and give me your feedback I am very grateful, this is the link https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/resurrection
This game looks so good
Disturbing game :O wonderful execution with a tense atmosphere. Beautiful
The artstyle and mood was fantastic and it created a super creepy atmosphere! A little confused by the multiple views but otherwise great entry!
Love the Artstyle, not a fan of horror games but i guess that wasnt too much horror :P, defenitly set the mood tho, good job :)
What a trip. Very cool!
I really enjoyed this. I agree with others on the switching being confusing, but it actually works well with the looping/nightmare-ish theme of the game... It kind of make you uneasy and disoriented, in a good way. I also liked the art and thought that the audio (both music and effects) works fantastically with the mood and graphic style. Great work!
Great atmosphere, it get me scared, specially the music. Also nice art.
Wow! Perfect job on the graphics, audio, and mood! Seriously impressive for a 3 day jam. On my end, I had to press **Q** and D to move left and right, instead of *A* and D, which was a bit confusing at first, but I got used to it after a bit. Really cool game!
Very interesting game. The rotate room feature kind of reminds me of FEZ. The atmosphere was reallly good to, good job!
The graphics, audio, and mood were top-notch. The puzzles were confusing, though. I figured I had to flip the light switches in a certain order, but there was nothing to indicate whether I was flipping them in the correct order or not, or whether I had to reset at any point when I got the order wrong, so unfortunately I wasn't able to progress further. I figured that "Switch Train" just meant switch the side you are looking at, though it was still easy to get confused as to which side I was on, so I got lost in that way as well.
It can be a bit disorienting as both sides of the train look so similar, but I enjoyed it. As many people commented, visually is quite impressive and the whole atmosphere is quite scary. Great job guys!
What an incredible taste it was! I liked the fun it provides
Walks along train, turns on flickering light, sees some weird stuff, keeps on walking, turns off flickering light, some creepy thing walks up to me... woa... still shivering. Love the game. Relying on good ol' horror. Awesome sounddesign. Gonna play it again in my freetime for sure!
Very good atmosphere. The switch view can be a bit confusing, but I like it.
Great lil horror concept. Really dug your artwork, but I couldn't quite work out the mechanics. I'm assuming space bar flips my view and I'm meant to iit the switches in the right order, but I wasn't quite sure how to determine what that was. Still, love the experience, thanks for sharing your game!
I really like the artstyle! the music and sound effects really build a good atmosphere. Really enjoyed it!
Very nice presentation! I don't know if this is just for me, but walk left is bound to Q instead of A. The audio and visuals were absolutely astounding. Its amazing that you got this done in just 3 days!
A little horror, one of those games that will be a little nice to play on jam, beautiful art style, I like it!
Thank you all for your amazing reviews, we are so glad the game please so much of you !! thank you !!!
@ladmiester boundings are on A and D for qwerty, but since we are french, we also bound Q for azerty ^^
Wonderful artwork, sound design and atmosphere, but I was really confused about what I had to do. I found the second room too hard... couldn't finish.
Great art, I love when developers think about the graphics!
@don-tnowe sorry that you couldn't finish : you have to find the right combination of interrupters to bring back lights in the train. When you complete the correct combination, a pretty sounds can be heard and then you just need to leave the wagon to go next :) If you put the wrong combination, just leave your wagon to restart it :)
Very nice polished presentation. Audio is really good and helps with the atmosphere of the game. I did get lost though and wasn't sure which side I was on or what I wasnt doing right. Aside from that, its presented really well especially considering the time limit
Loved the style and Artwork .....Man I want to do this type game one day......big appreciation....
I liked the visuals and even more so the audio! Navigation was however very confusing to me. It took me a while to even understand what the look at the other side of the train was referring to. And even knowing that it was just a look to the left-look to the right, that it came with a flip of the x-axis of the game made it hard to navigate. It felt like being teleported to a random place each time. I didn't figure out if there was something hinting the solution with the switches either, but the monster leg was kind of cute and spidery. In general though, a very stylish game.
Love the hand drawn art style, it fit the horror mood very well. The sound design was also top notch for bringing out the chills. I agree with some of the other comments about the confusion with the spacebar. It was disorienting because I'd be on the left side of the car, flip the view, and now be on the right, even though the character is in the same position from his perspective. I also couldn't figure out the right order for the second train puzzle; I felt that I tried every combination of switch order. Is there something indicating the order or is it meant to be trial and error?
Great artwork. If the both sides of the train would look more different it would be easier to orientate better.
These visuals were way too cute for a horror game! And still you managed to set up the mood really well. Well done!
Game look fantastic, the atmosphere is there, sound are nice, however I did get lost quite close to the beginning and couldn't figure out what to do. But regardless, amazing entry considering how little time you had. By the way the A doesn't work to go left I had to press Q
Amazing graphics and ambience. The mood and atmosphere you created is impressive. I was a bit confused about the objective at first thought. I figured it would probably be a sequence-based puzzle, but I still checked the comments to confirm before I actually tried all the combinations.
This game is beautiful and has awesome mood. The sound design is also great. It really made me feel for poor Timeo. The poem at the beginning was a nice touch as well.
A lot of work and heart went into this game and it certainly shows. I have not even one complaint. Perfect job!
Thank you @fabula-rasa for your warm return <3 indeed, we put a lot of heart in this game :)
Beautiful game. Incredible atmosphere, and excellent level design. I love games with this horror feel. Very good interpretation of the theme. Congratulations, I hope to play a full version one day.
Ps: My game is similar to yours!
Nice game, of course! I had difficulties with orientation when switching sides of the wagon. And I think it would be better If there were some hints of the correct sequence of switching because now It looks like random switching.
That was a great experience. Keep it up!
Nice game, good gaphics ! But I'm not sure what to do after 2nd pannel, with the red light and the monster. It seems taht some light swithes can't be interrected with. Great take on the theme anyway !
At first, i didn't really know what i was doing. However, after a little while i got into it. The graphics and atmosphere are wonderful, and I love how you used the theme! Great job
Excellent graphics and mood! I was a little confused on how the light switch puzzles worked but other than that everything was great. Nice entry!
The art is very well done, and the team is congratulated, I understand the intention of having to solve the puzzle, to be able to follow, only that sometimes what can be very obvious in what we know and live around us, can generate an experience not so positive to other people, for many times they have no parameters to follow, this often causes part of the work developed by the game's creative team to end up being lost, because the player takes too long and the player leaves the game, and once the player has given up, he rarely comes back due to his own frustration of not having continued, I hope I helped, a big hug.
Damn this game is terrifying haha Shame I couldn't play it on stream. I love the art style, and the sfx really give an intense and dark atmosphere. Reminded me of my own nightmares when I was a child. Great job!
Few things: The game says A & D to move but it's actually Q & D in a QWERTY keyboard for some reason. Also I'd like a main menu and settings so you can at least make it windowed.
Great game! Especially the art, it was 5/5. Some of the issues i had with the game :
It was disorienting to press space and suddenly pressing Left was moving you towards the Right side of the train, i had no way to know which part of the train i was in or which way i was going.
The sound effects didnt relate to me anything good or bad in particular, i had no idea what any of the sounds meant.
When i summoned the monster and the red light, the game continues after that, i didnt know i should reset the room.
Also the "a" key doesnt work for moving left even though the tutorial says it does.
Just finished playing your game... The art was nicely done. Also, I liked the puzzles and how they were connected to the horror in the game, like that part when you flip a switch and suddenly you start hearing a monster running towards you, but nothing actually happens; somehow that was more scary than if the monster had simply appeared there.
Thanks for submitting your game for me to play on my livestream!

Beautiful artystyle and great atmospheric horror you created! The first sighting of the monster was scary, as was the flickering of the lights. I think it did add to the gnawing terror that not every lever did actually work the same and some… wouldn’t even work at all :‘D Fantastic job <3
Nicely fit into the theme. Very very goooooood audio, man you are gifted!. Oh my gohs, awesome atmosphere/mood, I love it. Fun factor is not high at this game, but maybe next time you will think more about that and it will be better. State of the art, it is what discribe that graphics. Overall your game is good, good job.
The mood of this is so perfect that it scared the living bleep out of me! Well done :)
The art and sound design in this game is excellent, and deserve high scores. Even with some limited animations, the game provides enough to fill the player's imagination. Presentation-wise, I do think the game excels; it is unfortunate, then, that I had immense difficulty discerning the objective of the game.
When playing on-stream, I was able to discern that the order of the switches turned on matters. As a consequence, I thought all switches needed to be turned on to solve the puzzle, which turned out to be false. I, furthermore, couldn't tell *if* I even got the order of light switches as correct: progression was very difficult to make out. It doesn't help that most levels look exactly like each other.
Given these frustrations, I failed to find the game as scary. I only felt lost for the most part, which really reduced the jump-scares to predictable, looping affair.
