Good game! Had a great time playing it!

feeddestroyer 2018-08-13 20:24

Great!

austino-bobino 2018-08-13 20:28

Really cool idea! When I first read the description I though it would be top-down or something, but the first person aspect really made the idea much more interesting and enjoyable. I also love the aesthetic of this game, the graphics and the music really sell it in that regard. My only suggestion would to improve the control scheme, it felt very weird and out of place. Regardless, great job! I really enjoyed this one!

The ambience and look of the game are just incredible! I think first person view for this type of game is a little hard to deal with

@liven @bredera @zainman @madrededios @feeddestroyer @anton-potatis @austino-bobino Thanks for the comments guys! I'm glad you like it. About the controls, I took a dungeon crawler approach, not traditional FPS. I understand it can be a little bit weird.

Actually really fun! I gave it a high score. Only bug i saw was that rocks can sometimes spawn and make squares impossible to reach

I got 850 my first time! Your graphics, animations, and vibe are really great, @pacochan! The concept is fun too. Once I realized you could start the progress bars and then move away and do something else, it definitely got a lot more fast paced. Clever use of the theme, and again, great art and vibe! Awesome work man!

Amazing looking game. Audio was great too.

A pretty good game you got here, making the timing a essential part of strategy. I think a better idea would have been giving the player two planting areas to work with instead of one. Then, for each space have them less than 10x10, and provide some teleportation device at a random square, just to give the player more of a challenge when preserving space. Lastly, you could have it where the planting spaces shrink over time, but only erase squares that weren't used. Just my suggestion but a great entry anyways!

This was a fun game and really pretty too! The music fit the vibe really well, and the plants were satisfying to grow (which is useful for a game about growing plants hehe) :) . The only thing for me was that it was a bit tricky to see what was going on since everything was quite close in POV; if there was a way to see things a bit further back/overall that could be helpful! I guess that may in some ways make the game easier, but it could also allow people to be more strategic in their moves. Overall though really nice game!

Loved the art style, and I know you didn't make the music but it fit in really well. For me, I kinda wished that strafe and rotate were swapped around (would be a good option to have to toggle it!) but the game itself was relaxing and fun.

First time score: 800

High score: 1800

Fun! It wasn't obvious to me at first that you could walk away immediately after watering a plant. I mistook the growth progress bar as an action progress bar. Maybe a short animation could have helped with that. The controls took a little getting used to. Felt bit more natural after I realized that I could use the arrow keys instead of WASD, and primarily use my left hand for strafing. Obviously keyboard only first person games aren't very common anymore, but I think there's two ways to make it a little more natural. 1: Keep the movement on one hand (WASD or arrows), and put the rotation on the other (arrows or QR). 2: Adopt what some top down games use, movement on WASD, rotate on QE. For this game, I think the first way would be better, since then the controls wouldn't be so clustered on one hand.

Loving the retro aesthetics :)

Wow, absolutely blown away, truly amazing entry!! It's incredible that you managed to do all of that by yourself in such a short time, makes me wonder what you would come up with if you'd develop this to the end
