LD42 — Running out of space

Space Lost by rakart 2018-08-14T22:51:46Z

Nice game! I think the mechanic was cool. The art and music was also pretty good. I think the gameplay could be sped up over all. And also the fact that the character doesn't turn in the direction your mouse is was a bit uncomfortable, partly because it usually would turn towards the mouse in most games of this type. But this is a really minor complaint.

Good job! I think this could turn out to be a good game with more levels/mechanics and all that stuff that I wouldn't expect from just a jam game.

From Hell by bog13 2018-08-13T20:18:15Z

Really enjoyed playing this one. The floaty falling was hard to get used to at first but after that the precision needed to complete a level was very enjoyable. I completed the standard levels and though the level design there was pretty good (The hard levels are too much for me right now lol). The music was nice too.

The game was pretty interesting. Having sort of 2 games in 1 was very engaging in this case and represented the game's premise well.

I think the asteroids were a bit too random/fast. I ended up just spamming shoot and wiggling instead of having to aim at them. Also I think it would be better if I had some idea where the planets were (If it was there I might have just not noticed though lol).

Good game though.

OutThere by mrsylar59 2018-08-14T21:50:03Z

@mrsylar59 ah I see now! I didn't realise that's what they were for while playing. My bad it seems really obvious now lol

LEO by Bracula 2018-08-14T23:31:02Z

A really neat game. The graphics were very appealing and the idea was really good and pretty well executed imo. The controls were intuitive but imprecise enough to achieve a good level of difficulty.

Others have said the debris was a bit small to try and click on and I think I agree but that's a very minor problem.

No More Spacers by xero560 2018-08-14T22:20:05Z

Maybe this game is too ambitious for such a short time frame. But I'm quite impressed with what's in the game.

The combat seemed like it could be fun, but I think it simply needed more time put into it. Being able to kick enemies up before slashing them felt really good, even at this early stage.

I think there needed to be more visual/audio feedback for taking damage and landing hits. I think that's what really held the game back overall.

Prog-Jet vs Guardians by Bismark 2018-08-14T22:36:57Z

The camera was a bit disorientating, a smooth camera would have been better for sure. It also seemed that the bike was turning based on it's last cell rather than it's current one. But the game looked cool and I thought it was interesting. Not bad at all. I think the idea has potential.

Re: Growth by frostByte4k 2018-08-14T21:47:59Z

The gameplay was simple but fun, I think it has some potential if you add upgrades/items/new enemies in the future.

The text was kind of uncomfortable to read though. Luckily the game's not reliant on it during gameplay. I couldn't work out what the rules were for grass spawning either, it wasn't much of a problem but some in-game clarification would be good I think.

The aesthetic style worked well too.

Good job overall!

Mad Desert by djosef 2018-08-13T21:12:50Z

Really liked the game. The graphics were great and the sounds were good too.

The concept was good and for the most part it worked well but I found myself being a victim of randomness a bit too often and I'd end up caught between blocks or a block would fall on top of a block I was about to push which would mean I couldn't push it. I would have liked a bit more control over the blocks since having 2 blocks fall next to each other felt really unlucky. Maybe pulling blocks would be a nice idea.

The game was fun though. I definitely enjoyed it!

City Gardener by PacoChan 2018-08-14T23:41:37Z

The visuals and the music were amazing here! It created a really good atmosphere.

Warehouse Madness by Andreadbx 2018-08-13T18:34:43Z

Really fun game. Great graphics and audio. It was pretty stressful right from the start (in a good way) and the audio added to that. Maybe it could be easier at first but it's not a big deal. Great entry!

AEKI Wares by grizeldi 2018-08-13T19:50:18Z

Nice game. Like others I was alone while playing but I could see how it would be more fun with more people. But I still enjoyed it!

My only gripe with this game is that I got kind of annoyed by how the character controlled since pressing a direction meant the character would try and move in that direction but not necessarily turn towards it, especially if you were at a wall. This made dropping objects harder than I think it should have been.

But it's a very solid game overall. Graphics/Sound/Atmosphere were good.

Tight Rooms by Aszu 2018-08-14T22:00:42Z

I really enjoyed this game. A solid game for 48 hours. As a basic idea for a game I think this is one of the best I've seen so far. At first it was kind of easy but I was glad when more interesting rooms started appearing. With more mechanics added I could see this being a great game.

Cardback Dicing by literallyjosh 2018-08-13T19:21:55Z

The graphics in this game are great. At the beginning I thought I might get bored quickly but as I gathered more dice and the battles went quicker it got more enjoyable. I would have liked a few more options while playing. It felt a bit monotonous at times but that's the type of thing I'd expect later. As a Jam game it's very good!

Roham! by Fenderbate 2018-08-14T21:22:24Z

I liked the game. The combat was very fun imo. The yellow enemies felt kind of unfair though, I couldn't quite work out whether I was able to dodge the lasers with an attack or not. The graphics/music made for a good mood too.

Running Out of Space by Danny Sun 2018-08-13T20:03:02Z

A nice game. I tried to get all 12 meteors but couldn't quite get there. (dammit!) I liked the music and the art was ok. Decent game overall. Although it was simple I enjoyed it.

Build Out In Space by nikasxirtla 2018-08-13T17:00:07Z

I liked the concept of the game. I think it's a bit easy right now. Maybe a couple more colours or restrictions on how high you can build or something. I think it has some potential!

YTTRE by Drabbning 2018-08-13T16:46:16Z

Really fun game. Plays really well. I managed to get to 18 seconds before I died, it got pretty tense. Of course sound would be nice to have, but overall, it's a great game!

Running Out from space to Live by otmani yacer 2018-08-13T19:30:44Z

I enjoyed the game but it was kind of annoying to play. You start really close to evil pac-man so often I'd start a level and immediately die because I didn't press right fast enough or I was in too much of a rush and forgot to jump or jumped too early to try and avoid the immediate spikes.

I think this could work well if the controls were tightened up.

LD45 — Start with nothing

NoGo45 by bcvery1 2019-10-07T16:38:43Z

Fun game. Powering up the character felt good and it was fun to explore the map. I think I died by running into my own projectile RIP.

Epic story of a nobody by The Osk 2019-10-08T09:15:37Z

It was a nice story. I managed to reach an ending, though it looks like there might have been multiple which is cool. Fighting enemies felt like a grind but overall it was enjoyable.

Dungeon Wanderer by Monstr 2019-10-07T10:18:34Z

@gabriele Thanks for the feedback! I can agree that the combat isn't that good, I wish I could have made it better. But something I forgot to mention (my bad) is that as you collect duplicates of weapons they become more powerful. The intention is that you try and avoid enemies until you feel powerful enough to properly fight them. I think the game ends up being a lot easier when played this way.

Thanks for checking out the game!

Oriopia by TheMuffinMan314 2019-10-07T14:04:23Z

Interesting stuff. It was good that you added the extra modes. I feel like the exploration aspect with the biomes and stuff was kind of wasted because there didn't seem to be any reason to explore the world, especially since enemies spawned around you anyway and the giant crystal didn't seem hard to find.

Mr.Grind by iozsaygi 2019-10-07T13:11:24Z

Cool start to a clicker game. Movement speed and jumping didn't seem incredibly valuable right now but the game looks like it could be addictive which is pretty much what clicker games need to succeed.

Click-N-Move by TwinTurboDouche 2019-10-07T16:08:42Z

I don't know if I'm missing anything but it seems I can't shoot? It said I got a crossbow and then I'm clicking and nothing is happening. I tried the HTML5 version in Firefox as well as the Windows executable.

Click-N-Move by TwinTurboDouche 2019-10-07T16:24:18Z

@twinturbodouche ah thanks, that worked!

Good Stuff. The game got pretty fun once I got the pistol although I struggled to get further than that (It's pretty challenging). Being able to continue after death with a penalty is an interesting/unique idea for a score-attack game.

Vessel by Gabriele 2019-10-07T13:31:43Z

Nice game with a really great atmosphere! I don't think I was able to fully work out what I was doing but that kind of added to the experience.
