It was fun! My personal favorite part was sidling through all the holes :)
This one is brimming with personality. The art was charming, the music was catchy, and I enjoyed the clever level design! Only issue was I got some major framerate issues when the screen filled up with a lot of projectiles.
Very fun, good feel to it, and delightfully challenging. Also love the screen shakes. I think the theme association was a bit tenuous though.
Dope soundtrack! But for me the game froze every five seconds so I couldn't experience the games full potential. May be my potato PC. From what I saw though, super cool little game!
It's possible I just didn't get this game, but it seemed extremely difficult and I missed the theme...
The general mood and art of the game are great though, and the sound was really well done.
Very nice graphics, but the game is way too hard.
Quite challenging but lots of fun! Excellent aesthetics. The art style is lovely and the animations are great, especially the main character and entering the portals. Some satisfying puzzle elements too- e.g. at first I thought the level with the heavy, fast blocks was impossible with all the enemies shooting at you before I realized you could "ride" the blocks to the next level. Occasionally, it felt as though there was a slight delay between the enemy being shot and dying. An enemy would be shot but then Viktor would still take damage.
a mix between a top down shooter and a dye and retry platformer like super meat boy
@macaroni-dev thanks, glad you liked it!
@loren-heubert-aubry thanks for the bug report, i knew about it, but since i was doing it in pure js without any engine it was hard to think about optimization during development. I hope that in the next jam i'll manage to optimize game in the process :) @nikolaj thanks for playing, i loved creating screen shake(just shaking the WEBGL canvas :D ), i know that maybe i've a streched the theme a bit, but i've never really created any top down, and i was completely in top-down shooter mood :)
@m8rix hey super glad to hear you found it cool! as i explained @loren-heubert-aubry i didnt find the time too optimise it ... next time it will be potato-proof!
@pluisjen Hey, i really tried too make game hard, maybe overdid it a little ;P
@flying-dog-fish if i'll ever come back to it to polish it a little, ill change level design a bit! Thanks for your insight!
@fc85057 Hey, thanks for such a long comment! I'll take a look at this delay you were talking about, and if i'll ever be making a post-jam version i'll fix it!
@peche-et-tradition-1867 Glad to be compared to such a beatifull titles :)
I'd like to see a little more forgiveness in the hit boxes. Getting dragged into a wall because a sliding block touched half a pixel on my head was more then a little annoying with how sensative the controls are and how fast everything moves.
Pretty cool game, I've always loved the hand drawn look of graphics. As others mentioned the hit boxes and AI speed was a bit too much. The game also seem to lag out with the html5 version which made making those timed decisions pretty difficult. Great job overall though, very polished.
Nice game and soundtrack!
Awesome game! I have trouble with the boxes and the hitbox as other mentioned as well, but still it is a very good game, the art is very nice and the gameplay is fun to play, great job!
Pretty hard game, but somehow satisfying. I like how you use the life mechanics. Maybe it lacks a bit of polish, especially on the collisions detection. The art is very unique and the music sounds great. Nice work!
It was hard and challenging, unfortunately I had performance issues. Art style was good.
I just finished it! The game is quite short but has an interesting art style, and the music is nice too. ^_^
Loved the art. The puzzles were pretty hard. I did managed to get a few levels deep, but couldn't figure out how to get past the twomp like creatures.
One of my favorite entries in this game jam! :)
What I really liked + very nice style (graphics are good and I liked the starting- and end-screen) + fitting audio + mood (the nice art style and audio lead to a nice mood. It motivated me and gave me a nice feeling) + good animation on the characters
What I would change - it was very, very hard. I played every level, but some parts felt too difficult. Maybe you could add more levels, which are progressing in the difficulty
Other than that, I had a blast playing this game. Very nice! If you add more levels, send me a notification. I would like to play them.
Art is cool and music fits perfectly to this game. It seems hard at first, but actually i think difficulty is pretty fair, just needs a few introduction levels. Great job!
Incrediby fast paced and difficult little bullet-hell game! Managed to brute-force my way through the levels. Really cute art and sound design so congrats. Fun level variety with interesting monsters and traps. Would love to see more levels!
Pwoah, that was difficult! I guess I am not that good in games with WASD + Mouse ;) I enjoyed the graphics and the walking animation. I like the music within the levels, but the music in the start screen was a bit too overwhelming/loud/sharp for my taste.
On my first attempt I got stuck in the level with the moving squares when one of the last squares hit me; the player became invisible, but I could still hear some sounds.
Somehow I finished the game! :confetti_ball: In the level with the moving squares, it felt like I was using a bug to let myself be moved by the squares. It seemed that if I hit the squares on the good side, It will move me, otherwise it would kill me? Visually this was not clear, so I was not sure if I was meant to do this.
I found the maze also to be very tricky with the narrow paths, I ended up just running for my life, ignoring the bats, and hoping for a good run.
I would like to fire my bullets with a shorter cool down timer, but also that the bullets would fly faster, or at least that the bats would fly slower - the bats seemed to fly faster than my bullets. :open_mouth: Also, I wish I could just hold my mouse button for continuous shooting.
The rewinding of the level is quite cute, but also a bit confusing at first, because it's so fast that it looks like a glitch at first.
Nice music, great art style and quite difficult haha  I thought it was great though and managed to powerthrough to the end :muscle: congrats!
Oh my god, this is so frustratingly hard and unfair :D But I loved the idea and I really really really liked the visuals!
Visuals and audio are fantasitc they just scream with personality! The mechanics are simple but work well enough to not be annoying or clunky. Level design could use a bit more love because 1 level to 1 mechanic is just not enough to properly introduce, develop and explore the mechanics. But considering current difficulty of the levels and kind of unfairness this little amount of levels have some charm to it. Also thanks for few laughts! Nice entry : D
