Very Fun! Love the chomp maneuver!

Very Fun! Love the chomp maneuver!
cute! I had a little trouble getting the bugs to move. Also i had to ALT-TAB and kill to get out on mac.
Overall nice job!
yargh, maybe this time i will get something goin..
The shark who didn't make it.. sharky.png
We just hacked it out from THREE.js, if that counts.. the stock water material does all the magic, so can't claim anything from that.
However i will blame kevin for the insane boat speed.. he liked it that way. Thanks for playing!
Tulipekoni - I think we had some debugging motion on the camera tied to the mousewheel, sorry about that! Thanks for playing though
Cool concept, controls were a bit challenging, and it overall hosed my poor old 2011 iMac with those serious graphics!
Kind of neat, good atmosphere. I had a little slowness from all the fog on my olde computer. I died trying to figure out how to switch back from the broom! But shooting the black creatures was satisfying!
Neat game and concept
Neat, intro text is a bit patience-testing, but i had some fun! Good job!
Bonus features in Source Code: 2 unfinished alternate game prototypes!

evil deer.. love it. and nice little strategy game
My kids loved this game. nuff said. i had a hard time getting them to stop
Cool concept, I like the robot, and thank you for making a web game.
wow this was fun, clever, cute, and dark. Great Job!
I couldn't quite get the hang of the grappling hook, but it was a nice moody atmosphere, and i like the grenade.
neat game, had a bit of trouble with the super simple controls
Wow, great job in jus a weekend
interesting, although i ran out of time trying to get stealh to run.. cool idea i think tho
Like the art, homebrew style. Kinda very similar to Redbeard!
cool, and hard! and big thanks for web game!
Cool, nice little entry! I got chopped down pretty quick.. wish i could at least punch one of those dudes..
Love the simple feel, big bonus for web games.. and .. .GoLang compiled to JS .. nice ;)
Cute, lots of fun dodging the doggies! Bad dog, don't take my skull!
nice start, hopefully you get time to build on it!
@slimabob awesome thanks for trying it out! I will see if i can get the windows version fixed
EDIT: Windows version now works!
@aj-jones thanks for the heads up, just pushed up a fix. I keep forgetting Godot 3.1 export of GLES3 doesn't work.. the shaders are basically not working on html5 (not that they are particularly hi-fi anyway!)
@itsbamboo There is! You can press "R" for player 1, "P" for player 2, or top gamepad button :)
@neonlare the blue orbs make you heavier, but you get a bonus for them every lap (-2 seconds). This comes into play if you are doing split-screen with a friend... needs to be more obvious though
Good job, kind of fun to float around until i got blasted by the lasers! kind of made me wish i had some lasers too
Wow, very cool, very innovative and +1 for involving your kids (my daughters help me on my ldj games too!)
On a Mac it is not finding the com.badlogix.gdx.ApplicationListener .. maybe you didnt' bundle LibGDX in your jar file?
Nice job! trading and bartering are fun, but picking pockets is the way to go!
Cute and kinda fun.. I had toruble since i think i am hard-wired to expect the WASD to be relative to the player's local rotation, not global rotation. Also the M key seemed to be hard to grab. Overall a nice entry though!
Wow super cool game / concept!
Nice dungeon!
This is awesome! Everything about it, the art, the music, the mood.. so awesome. Very well done. Also, HUGE thanks for providing a JAR.. something us Mac people can easily deal with!
Nice music, i kinda just wanted to wander around.. Jumping would have been fun
What a lovely little game. Very nicely done!
neat concept! I think if you made the center gun's rotation freely controlled by mouse, you could crank up the intensity and it would be super fun. It just felt a bit tedious rotating around at a fixed rate. Overall, though, awesome playabe entry!
Really cool concept, hard to figure out how to make it work though.. maybe a bit more arcade physics would help
you did a good job creating a mood!
wow, great job, really fun, great look, great sound!
cute, control scheme was a bit awkward for me, but definitely felt "solid". nice job!
w00t let's see if i do this.
Wow super dooper out-of-box thinking. This brings back memories of the early 90s for me at the local pizza shop (sadly i was a button masher and had similar success in your game). Also A+ for web game. So nice to not install untrusted code on my machine.
That was fun, simple, and challenging. Also very clever application of the theme! Well done!
hilarious
neat concept, except i couldn't figure out how to complete level 3 as i wasn't able to join tracks
pretty fun game, challenging as you have to anticipate the ships before releasing your rocket! Great entry!
Nice train loop.. i wasn't able to put a gatling gun on.. which was a bit disappointing! Maybe a little bit more of a quick tutorial popup?
rough cut, but amusing!
nice little puzzle game!
wow amazing job, really clever. I am amazed you could build this in a weekend!
I had some issues on the webgl version, couldn't figure out how to use the pic axe (it kept freezing) so couldn't really rate very well. Seems like a neat idea tho
hilarious, nice job!
Nice concept, feels good. Maybe need a way to make gameplay more engaging though
Cute! Fun little game.. not too close to the theme though, but fun!
neat, very playable, brain teaser!
Cute game.. took a minute to figure out the controls (except mouse). I loved the look/feel. hilarious!
Wow , super simple and fun. Could be a bit more challenging, but maybe that was coming (have too many games to rate lol!)
Fun little game!
Fun game, hilarious theme. We actually did a pretty much almost the same style game "The Circle".. great entry!
visual was nice but not really sure where the "game" part was.
nice little racer game
Great job on this! It is very similar, but the inverse of our game!! Great minds think alike!
wow clever concept of using the loop, nice job!
Neat concept.. although it didn't feel like i could 'master' the looping at all, just waiting for it to randomly make something un-stoppable. If there was a way to work a loop (or at least something more discernable.. sometimes there were nice loops, sometimes not), then it would feel a bit stronger
Kind of cool, the car was super hard to control, but i could see if i spent more time i would get better. Nice Job!
Looks really nice, but i wasn't hearing any sound effects, just music. Nice job on such a short timeline
clever concept, a bit more explanation in the beginning would help
fun little game
so simple but so fun. my daughter and i took turns playing and both loved it!
Ok, first dev post!
We are thinking about a gravity/planet game where you launch a space probe and navigate through various systems deeper and deeper.
My task was to make some planets and gravity, so w00t here we go!
Building this in React/Ecsy/Three/Planck
* [prototype](https://ld48.nikolaj.dev/) * [src](https://github.com/nikolajbaer/ld48)
Arrow keys control the red little probe! Still pretty wonky, but a good start!
Screenshot 2021-04-23 231507.png
So our "deeper and deeper" space probe is a bit waylaid with the amazingly satisfying joy of just arcade flying with orbital mechanics. This little sublime moment barely does it justice so check out the realtime latest build at [ld48.nikolaj.dev](https://ld48.nikolaj.dev) WASD + shift for extra boost!
giphy.gif
@adam-selker thanks for the feedback (and note on firefox, i will have to check that out). For the prediction, we have a gravity system, and basically run the clock forward with the predefined static orbits of the planets. The reason the line "wobbles" as planets move is that the time-step is different for the prediction, as well as probably hitting some floating point errors. Source code for [prediction](https://github.com/nikolajbaer/ld48/blob/main/app/src/systems/path_predict.js#L77), but really that relies on [gravity](https://github.com/nikolajbaer/ld48/blob/main/app/src/systems/gravity.js#L33) calculation and [orbit calculation](https://github.com/nikolajbaer/ld48/blob/main/app/src/systems/orbit.js#L7)
@lumous thanks, we had on our issue list to add "fine-tuned" thrust in addition to booster thrust... but didn't make the cut.. damn Monday work day ..
@robotex just checked out your game, nice job!
You can get off a planet by holding down SHIFT and .. just trying to get off i guess. We didn't really get to build out the "point" of the game beyond just the fun of planning out orbits. Next time!
Wow, what a lovely concept!
like the visuals and fun
kind of fun, was having trouble figuring out how to bury the zombie steaks
wow, awesome job, you nailed the mood so well, my 9 year old ran out of the room when we got to the cavern with the tentacles! Awesome, although i admit after blowing the depth charges in the tunnel i couldn't figure out what was next
yeah the part where i get devoured by a cat-come-green-alien is a positively terrifying use of only a few pixels.
ha, amusing. needs to keep letting me dig a bigger and bigger hole though.
hilarious, love the music, fun mechanics, beautiful art! Also, twistedly cute.. ha! great job
awesome concept, clever and challenging. a great entry!
tricky, but cool idea
super fun, i think i didn't quite get the mechanic as i got stuck on level 1. Super smooth though, and thanks for making an html5 version!
cute, lofi but does the trick.
cool, i wanted to thrust forward a bit..
wow, really a pleasant little game! only comment would be that maybe a force-driven movement would be a bit harder but also easier to "master" than the random jitter that seemed to be there. Also a periodic stream of bubbles would be good too :) Overall very nice!
pretty nice left-field entry.. very odd, but very satisfying. Only suggestion is that once i had my ramp lined up i just kept sending cars into the hole and didn't really have to alter it. Would have been good to have some buried static bodies that forced me to get creative at some point
cute and challenging... damn that mouse.. gonna catch him.. *grumble grumble*
nice job! played a few levels, nice style and cool concept, and a fun start to build on! I love the mining animation
absolutely lovely, wonderful to see a game built in scratch yet so fun and so pretty!
cool, big plus for letting me customize my character!
cute, the fishing mechanic, come key tapping mechanic was a bit confusing at first.. but a cute time waster
very cool, slightly unsettling, very good mood. Nice entry! Only gripe is that it would be fun to step up the time scale a bit to make a bit faster
neat! very similar to our game, but way harder. Good job with the fuel packs, I think they are a more interesting mechanic than our refuel on planets system. Nice job!
the little guy i was chasing was cute.. i didn't really want to hurt him, but i liked the experience of him running off into the dark repeatedly.. that was cool.
cute game
nice puzzle
great game, it was really hard to dodge the alien-gremlin things! overall it was really good
nice game
fun! challenging too, i enjoyed grunting in frustration every time i died after 1 hit!
fun, i think graphics music and theme were awesome. I wish there was a bit more of an explainer on the management process, just a 2-3 step image tutorial would have been good. It wasn't clear to me when i was fixing or upgrading something when i had multiple "Greens"
a good start, could be more challenging
simple, not innovative, but well executed. nice!
super simple, great art style, polished execution, definitely fun.. solid entry!
\(◎o◎)/!
wow, very well balanced, engaging, polished.. amazing job for 48 hours!
fun game! only suggestion would be to ease up on the collision animation for lighter collisions, it is a bit distracting. Great Job!
@gamedevtraum the game is built with Three.js and bitECS, which are more than enough to have fun, and imho liberating from the weight of an engine! Full source is here: https://github.com/nikolajbaer/ld51
@hawkin @urjam thanks, at the 11th hour I implemented a "defensive" mode where the gnomes observe all the skellies in their sector.. and auto-attack that.. but I don't think I got the mechanics quite right since they chase off on random skeletons and don't obey orders.. lol, but in a way them being a bit obstinant is kind of amusing and brings a little character...
challenging controls.. i was disappointed i couldn't get to throwing the baby out the window lol
Cute! My daughter played several rounds of this!
fun little start to a game. .i did not expect those bullets to chase me!!
Wow, this captures the frustration of being a Barista! I couldn't figure out how to dump my incorrect drink. Great job, very immersive!
wow, clever mashup of robo sumo .. really fun!
wow, mood off the charts! and the art is very intense! There is definitely a learning curve, but it felt good and seemed like great potential for creating the ultimate defensive setup. Nice Job!
cute aesthetics, definitely reminds me of games i played in my youth!
fast paced and disorienting, fun!
love the art, and it was challenging crafting potions while dodging the furballs! great job!
nice, took me a minute to realize what I had to do. I love the cute but meddlesome raccoons! This reminds me too much of dealing with squirrels in my garden..
Humor off the charts! I had trouble selecting less units though, but that might have been me.
lovely game with great balance on the basic mechanics! music felt really good, and the animations/graphics were nice. I love the growing evil weeds. If anything I wanted a bit more, some sort of story, villain, purpose, but.. this is maybe a great foundation to add on to! Great Job!
Wow very cool and atmospheric and beautiful. I love the concept as well.. i did crash even though I was staying within the "black" area of my sonar though.. maybe I needed to be running outside to look out as well? OVerall great concept and nice execution
clever take on the mechanics ,fun, easy to pick up. The rapid fire mode at the end of the round was really satisfying.. nice!
nice start, i think 3rd person view might have worked better so you could see the parasite dangling from their brain!
wow, super fun and really polished. impressive
cool concept, definitely has potential!
cool use of new tech
cute, loved the music, definitely challenging!
Amazing game feel and beautiful art! I was a bit confused how to go about managing the planties, but then again I am bad at that IRL anyway. Great job!
very cute.. maybe something happening every 10 s would be good? naaaah who cares, i got to the party!
very absurdia
love the combine, and really love the motor sounds  !
However, why does A go right and D go left?? making my poor brain hurt!
very nice, really fun puzzle work with all the spells, and impressive play time for a weekend's worht of work!
neat! i liked that it was beatable, but also kind of feel like it could have been harder. The polish level is pretty great! well done!
such nice particle smoke, and i love the backup sound! The steering needs to be a bit more controllable. Maybe don't un-steer when i let go? Also the game was about speed, but i did not __Feel__ like i was going fast, so it made me a bit frustrated... Overall a great entry though, worked well and i love the lo-poly look!
wow, captured the aesthetic of my youth! great job!
My big complaint was lack of crosshairs. also i think you could have added a bit more bass to the sfx on the bones.. more bone-crushing, less clattering bones
Super fun!
Fun game, i love the soul harvesting look/feel, although they seem like zombies.. do they have souls? Either way good job!
Nice graphics, and a great scythe
Ok, so far we are doing Godot, and have a tractor harvesting some wheat.. we are thinking maybe just see how efficiently you can scoop up all the wheat.
Also, yes i know this is a tractor with a plow, not a combine harvester.. but some liberties have been taken...
Screenshot 2023-01-07 121243.png
@linus-lindberg It requires WebGL2 to run. I tested in latest Chrome and Firefox without issue. If you let me know what browser/OS you tried, I can give that a go and see if I can fix it. Thanks for trying it!
EDIT: Looks like it is crashing in OSX >_< even in Chrome. Sorry for all you OSX users.. hoping i can make time to pump out a binary build
@reivilibre thanks for the feedback! Somehow I had imagined the controls would be more intuitive
The trick is to click/hold the place you want to go to with mouse/touch. The closer you are to the tractor, the tighter the turn.
I guess I have to remember to have an illustration on load to inform the user!
@peachtreeoath Thanks for the great feedback and i am glad you liked it!
The interaction is the farther from the tractor you pull, the faster / wider turn radius, closer the mouse is the tighter the turn radius. Somehow I imagined this might become obvious, but clearly it isn't  , ah well, next time an explainer graphic is needed!
@kuggenhoffen Wow nice job! What was your strategy? up and down, or looping?
Fun concept! It felt a bit disconnected where the tails would engage the tree.. something that made it feel hard to see that i was able to master it. I think having your sprites more precisely align with the collision boxes, and maybe some visual feedback would be helpful. The music is good, but also maybe a bit too strong, and could be a bit more background, or have a different loop to mix in for some variation.
Overall a great job!
nice illustrations, and I appreciate games that are mellow!
lol, this guy skates backwards better than me for sure
Wow, great job, the controls and gameplay felt really smooth, and i love the interaction with the plants as they grow, that "tick" felt really good. The only complaint is that those stinky red thingies were annoyingly good at predicting my movement.. just a whee bit of inertia so i could dodge them would be nice. But then again, maybe i just need more practice =]
fun, i think i would have liked to get a more focused flame breath so i could really swoop down and torch a roof-full of pesky humans.. but that the experience was that close is a testament to how fun this was! great job!
Cool idea, and pretty good execution! I wish i had a couple more attacks, but it was fun! Mouse speed was also a bit frustrating on HTML5 version, both in ldjam.com and itch
Hi, i think you need a bit more explanation for all those controls! This thing needs a manual!
Super fun to plod along and toggle all the switches though, and the art/music/sound is lovely. Just was not very clear what I was supposed to be doing with all the mushroom thingies!
neat, love the art style!
nice little game! as others said music would be nice.
fun, i had a little hard time swinging the scythe.. somehow it wasn't clear to me when i would connect and harvest. Overall good job!
Very nice polished game! I think the connection to the theme was a bit tenuous, but totally made up the visuals! Great Job!
fun effects and music... if only i could drift my combine...
Wow, super polished gameplay for a jam game! It started out easy but ramped up all of a sudden, but I definitely feel like i had plenty of time to ramp up. Would have appreciated a way to get smoother movement, but everything including, sound, animations, gameplay, performance, seemed really well done!
Wow, great job on creating really polished art and gameplay!
My only complaint is that it felt a bit tedious to go drop the seeds and then go slice them. I would have liked maybe a bit more action gameplay.
Overall amazing job!
Very neat idea! I do wish there was a way to do this with a mouse, but i get it (my game also had some control challenges.. jams don't provide much time for this).
Also I totally appreciate the mowing-a-field mechanic  as it is pretty much what we did!
Wow, challenging and super fun! I couldn't quite figure out how to dodge the boar, but that is a mark on my ability to multitask!! Great Job!
wow super fun! love the harvesting, audio.. those pesky cows though.. it's almost like they wanted to get butchered!
Great job!
Great, just Great. I am only a little made that the P2 beat me so handily =]
cute graphics, although slightly disturbing :grinning:, could use a bit more variation as others noted, maybe a bit more subtle movement controls to make it feel a bit more rewarding to master. Good job overall!
haha, when we were making our game we were wondering if we should add drift.. this game makes me wish i had!
One note, it would be nice to have a menu to pause or quit
Neat concept, it was hard to get a sense of whether or not i was doing well. Maybe some ideas of visual feedback
solid entry! shooting the arrow and lighting the bonfires just feels so good.. nice job!
hilarious.. i had a trouble keeping track of the different metrics which maybe is a good challenge, but i feel like some progress bars would have been quicker to read. Overall interesting entry!
i had a little trouble getting collisions right when getting close. I loved the procedural islands though, and music was relaxing and of course the theme puts me in the right mindset :sailboat:
@ackbad thanks! the whirring sound is a different idle i got from another clip.. i guess i should have stuck with the audio i recorded in my car (the main driving sound)!
@rose thanks for the feedback! There is a mouselook option that lets you have control over the camera. I couldn't decide between auto-adjusting the camera and having the person figure out how to use the mouse..
really clever! felt good to play and also fun to discover
fun and well executed!
definitely rage quit at some point, so "parking hell" is the right name  Well done!
fun! It took me a few tries to realize i had to think of this more as a "drifting" game than an orbit game!
nice, simple, creepy, possible content warning on the audio required
Wow, great mood.. i had a bit of trouble figuring out what to do next, got stuck after seeing the octopus book. I think maybe a bit more clues would have been nice, and maybe a bit more indication of what was clickable for us slow folks. Overall great work! So much in such a short time!
cool concept! i like the ability to plan before the battle. I wish the gun was a bit more fun to use (maybe rebounding bullets or something to make it more than just a pea-shooter). Great Job!
neat! the filament looked really cool. There was a weird gray thing that kept showing up on the web version on half the screen
hilarious! i definitely have had to use that shoulder technique before... but someone got disembodied outside the elevator and all hell broke loose.. Screenshot 2023-10-03 203520.png
cool idea.. definitely needs more tutorial. Also the camera was a bit intense.. maybe a little interpolation. Great entry voerall
trippy, and cool, and smooth to play
Wow this is definitely the most complete game i have played so far. Great theme, great execution, fun, balanced. Well done!
Initial concept drawingdungeonkart_concept1.jpg
Screenshot of the map editor! It stores the map you design to window.localStorage, so you can tweak it. Screen Shot 2018-04-23 at 10.58.26 AM.png
nice, that drift track was hard.. but i was starting to get it.
And, top prize for making the most hilariously perfect "cat-in-your-way" model/enemy... so good... so true. Cats WOULD ruin my drift track if they could.
Very tight, super well made. Not so sure about the theme, but still the game i have played the longest so far. Nice job! I am amazed this was done in a weekend.
Nice tunes! It took a bit to figure out, but i like the traced line for shots.
cute, i can't seem to break 7 seconds..
this is fantastic. I think so far my favorite mashup, and a really challenging game!
Also, thank you for making a web game. On a mac, it is sad i have to pass over so many games since they aren't available for mac.
