not so easy to handle but we like the art style of the game. great job guys
hi guys. go on with your idea. we like the style of the game. espescially the atmosphere is very cool
guys, our game style is perfect .. for us one of the best graphic which we have seen in this game jam until now. we like it.
Super nice game! Incredible how you managed to make so many levels in 48h^^ I had some problems with picking up some items. But overall it was very nice!
Nice game! Though it is a bit annoying not to be able to jump sometimes in the first level. especially if the foot is incoming. Some of the spikes were impossible for me to get across the first time because there is not enough time to change speed once they come into the frame but are very easy to avoid once one knew about them. But thats all I could imagine being improved. Again. Well done
oh god is that stressfull. And this frickin rabbit asks always for the thing at the ery end of the hallway!
Good Job! although the neighbours could wait a little longer
The movement felt quite good. I only had difficulties dodging. Space is up, is there a possibility to move down aswell? I found the Skip button in the beginning to be a bit annoying when reading the text.
Overall. Great Game!
simple but very nice . makes fun to play it. nice job guys
AMAZING! You just need a little more FLEXSEAL. Will there someday be a second part?
hi guys. ingrid von schnauz sounds very german :) deshalb weiter auf deutsch ;) toller art style. lustig, unterhaltsam und einfach gut ;)
we like the simple and great graphic style. nice concept. good job !
hi guys. we like it very much. pls go for more diffrent backgrounds, actors etc. it is super cute funny and u forget little bit time when u playing the game. more space for painting diffrent parts of the story. top game guys !!!!
we want more naked boys and girls in our gardens .. super funny ... :)
Nice attempt! I like!;)
it`s more an short flight but the style of the game is great. give the pilots more levels pls :)
we like your style of humor guys. concept, art and sound . everything is top. so you get a new fan of badwiches ;)
like the style of the characters. nice colors. nice job guys.
sometimes the game was a bit choppy but overall a solid Game
the best cows in ludum dare town :) lovely style. great job guys. we will go for a nice avocado salad this evening :)
easy to understand. nice idea and i like the jockey style :)
it took me four deaths to get that I needed to write stuff. Didn't help much to be honest. Apparently I'm really bad at writing and jumping over obstacles at the same time. A good idea nevertheless. Maybe the speedboost from writing could be higher so its a tiny little bit easier?
hi cupcake makers :) especially the sweet graphic style is very cool. next time do not forget the brownies :)
The game has a nice start, sets up the mood pretty good. The particle effects of N are also really fitting. As already mentioned the question/answer mechanic was a bit unintuitive. There could either be a simple on screen text explaining how it works or a number before the answers.
Sadly i had a bug that prevented me from completing the first "puzzle" (where you walk on the pillars). I had huge black bars across the viewport which prevented me from seeing the ground blackBars.jpg
Played the web version with Chrome Version 77.0.3865.90 (Official Build) (64-bit).
I would like to give it another try if you can fix this issue
Oh boy. If you told me dressing up to survive while fleeing from a horde of violent extrem fashionistas could be fun, I wouldn't have believed you. But here we are. Great Game. As has already been mentioned the getting trapped part is a bit frustrating because your amount of health doesn't matter anymore. Maybe some kind of break free mechanic could be implemented. Other than that. very fun
shooting in a 80`s night club athmosphere ;) nice colors !!!
what a nice Game! It took me way to long to realise that those yellow things came from the crown. I really liked the artstyle too. The one Thing I would love to see changed is the character model. I think a basic animation would improve the Game a bit.
we also think the same like the others ...anyway ... ne graphic is nice und the combination of colours too.
we like the atmo of the game and super nice graphic skills.
@tygrak We made some light effects that illuminate the ground and the walls, but they were not ready for the deadline. We have also another level, a end boss and some other stuff, which we will integrate soon, thanks for your feedback!
@chocolat-endive The UI thing is a good tip. We thought it would be obvious enough to follow the hallway downwards but we obviously knew the level for 3 days. We wanted to keep the screen entirely black to "start from nothing" anytime one doesnt activate the synth. But maybe we went a bit overboard with that.
We have a lot of assets left, a normal and a boss level which we couldn't finish in time. So, be prepared for a longer Version some time in the future.
@ItsBamboo There are assets and levels we couldn't finish in time so there is something to look forward to. Well those rats aren't really bioluminecent. Although that would be a better concept than the one we came up with. When you look closely you can see the lamp strapped on their back
@siarhei-pilat We're sorry to hear that. We didn't encounter headaches during playing but I think I know what you mean when you say "uncomfortable". The fact that if you only see the "Sonar" everything is kind of blurry makes at least my eyes trying to focus but obviously there isn't anything to focus on. Is this what you meant? We would love to hear how you think we could improve that
@pixamentory we want to make more content for the game^^
@daria-toni Tanks for your feedback:)
yeah u also like the 80`s wave . our synth man would like your game :) nice job
very nice graphic style guys
The music was a bit annoying, but it's a neat little game! I really liked your graphics and how you animated them!
fun little platformer.
My only two complains are with the limited keyboard controls, everything is for the left hand, right hand does nothing. I personally also don't like jumping with space, so adding a few different control schemes would be nice.
The second problem was the slow pacing of the game, especially with the platforms.
Other than that it was a fun game with a fitting art style. Well done
The tutorial didn't teach me the differences between the towers, it would be nice to know it.
Placing Towers is free as far as i can tell and there is no way to upgrade them? There needs to be some game mechanic to keep the player involved. That's not a big problem because currently there is only one wave, but if you wanted to expand on it there needs to be something to do after the first placement.
The fade in/out transitions in the tutorial took quite a lot of time. Try to keep the duration of them to a minimum so they don't distract from the actual content.
Otherwise the graphics are good and the theme fits quite well.
The controls are really difficult to use. I couldn't manage to throw the pizza out the window. I imagined this would work a lot better in VR. The graphics are really nice and that you can actually drive over the people is also a plus point.
The music is nice, but the death sound effect doesn't really fit, maybe it's just a little too load.
The movement feels a bit slow, thus making it quite difficult to dodge.
I would like the transition to different colors be a little bit more predictable, maybe a small transition to it or some indication of what comes next.
Other than that it's a fun little game, good job.
- The game was a bit slow paced. Especially for puzzles that i had to retry a bunch of times it felt unnecessarily slow - on the last screen the main character kept walking to the left fill object instead of the one i was standing right in front of - overall a solid game, made it through every level and had fun doing it
cool game, made it through every level. Some issues i noticed with the draw mechanic.
The stones can be pushed with the lines before the rabbits even start moving. That makes some puzzles really easy.
The other one being the slowly disappearing line, it feels inconsistent and after playing a bit it seems to disappear as fast as you were drawing it. I would prefer it if the amount one can draw is limited or the lines always disappear in a consistent way.
Good job on the game, was really fun playing through it.
really fun game. Sadly it's a bit short and I am not sure how the theme fits in it.
Would be nice if you could add builds for other OS like Linux and Mac
Can you provide a linux build?
Wait there is a web version. You should really add that to the description. A lot more people will play it then
The world is limited to the right, but not the left. I could walk forever in that direction. The jumping feels a bit floaty, would be nice if the gravitation was a bit higher. The power ups didn't feel really worth using.
Other than that it's quite fun little game
Really reminds me of wario ware. With more mini games and some kind of progression this could be a really nice mobile game.
really cool game. Enjoyed it till the end. In the last scene I hoped that every character had different dialogue for it, but the fly ability just repeated itself and the other ones couldn't talk.
Really cool game, got a score of 11426. The "Walljump" shouldn't really be called a wall jump. Once I realised it's not a walljump but instead just gives you your jump back when you hit a platform it was much easier to play. Good job with the game, was really fun playing it.
Cool game. Made it to 3. place on the leaderboard. I recommend to make the hitbox of the flame smaller and instead increase the difficulty somewhere else. The hits feel unfair at times which shouldn't be the case.
really difficult game. Especially the black holes are hard to see on the black background. I couldn't get past 10 points.
I actually managed to get the farthest on my first attempt. In most tries after that god just kills me ;_;
The pixel art looks cool. Would be nice if you could provide builds for other OS like Linux
Really reminds me of Zelda: Twilight Princess where you have to howl as the wolf. I find the blue dot to be quite distracting especially when you loose the rhythm, makes it really difficult to get back at it again
@garymarance Can you try to run the game from the command line (`java -jar Flamethrower.jar`) and post the output here? I don't have a mac so i cannot try it myself, thanks.
@duke the art was made during the jam. We had 2 designers working on it and they were really fast, I couldn't keep up implementing everything :D We had a bit of story planned, but as always had no time to add everything. Especially the throwing in your game really reminded me of our own. It also gets stuck if you throw it inside a wall.
@griffin76 I was afraid that players would not figure that out so we added an alternative route to progress. Hopefully everyone found at least one of them.
@grizzliusmaximus What do you mean with `The controls may still need some adjustments`? We added multiple control schemes to try to make it playable for most people. Would be nice if you could provide a bit more detailed feedback on it.
Thanks everyone for the feedback. Really appreciate it.
@halflemonstudios We tried to avoid softlocks, but I guess in the last puzzle you can get stuck if you don't carry the flame with you. We also thought about a restart button but did not implement it (I don't actually remember why we didn't)
@gus-goucher we had a template project ready before the jam started with java/kotlin, [libGDX](https://libgdx.badlogicgames.com/) and [ashley](https://github.com/libgdx/ashley)
@thibaud-ligneul you need to have java 8 installed, then a simple double click on the .jar file should start the game. If that doesn't work it's also possible to start the game from the command line with `java -jar Flamethrower.jar`
fun game. It feels really satisfying to beat up the sun.
Sometimes I game over but don't know why. I think a more visible indication of when the tree is dying would help with that.
Would be nice if you could add builds for other OS like Linux and Mac.

I really like pico 8 games. Always fun to see how people manage to make games with such a low resolution

Cool idea. I would really like an animation for the fly swatter to make it feel more satisfying. Also sometimes the hitboxes felt a bit unfair, I think they could be made a bit more in favor of the player.
Would be nice if you could add builds for other OS like Linux and Mac
- platforming was a bit difficult with the controls because holding the jump button triggers another jump and air control was very limited. I would prefer it if it wouldn't jump a second time - Viewport felt too small, made it hard to see where you were jumping. It wasn't too much of a problem because the level design was forgiving enough - Horse animations look really good
I didn't figure out how to play it. I can grab and drop stuff, but I had no idea how to actually do something useful, so i can't really say much about the game itself. It would be nice if you could add a bit of a description on how to play the game and how the controls work. The music is really nice tho.
