modeling is great background music is nice would be nice to have some sort of indicator that a character is selected would also be nice if you only have 1 character, for it to be auto selected I was able to walk into the 'vault' movement speeds of units was almost painfully slow

I think there is some great potential here for some turn based survival strategy (just need to get the game play moving a bit faster)

n-one 2019-10-07 08:37

Fun Game! It was too much slow but this have greate potential

pavel-ivanov 2019-10-07 11:36

I got stuck in gear thing -( But the UI is great for a compo game! Also, cool graphics! You got dudes with clubs, my game has those too lol!

chad-cable 2019-10-07 11:39

Very atmospheric - the audio is simple but punchy! Would be nice to have bigger touch zones on everything to make it simpler/more obvious to what can be pressed.

happysnake 2019-10-07 11:45

Very impressive for 48 hours. Visuals and mood are brilliant! Please make the actions 100x faster!

lyghtningwither 2019-10-07 12:59

Nice audio and music, cool concept.

washingmachinae 2019-10-07 13:09

Looks very neat and tidy. How do you deselect a person? Some of the pathway cubes got stuck and wouldn't disappear. The Spoder seemed to be walking backwards. The general pace of the game was a bit too slow :( Reminds me of the Fallout series

twinturbodouche 2019-10-07 13:09

Very fun! I wish I could zoom in a little bit! Nice art!

jajakeim 2019-10-07 13:12

I like the concept, unfortunatly as said by others it's very slow, too bad :/ Hope next time it will be more neat, great job and good luck

squimmy 2019-10-07 14:24

The low-poly assets and clean, high-contrast UI look great. There's some strong [Overland](https://overland-game.com/) vibes.

The interface is a bit lacking. It's not easy to tell what you can interact with or which character you have selected. Some simple highlighting of the active character, or more pronounced mouse-over effects for items/monsters would help a lot. The more interactive, the better!

Animations—even some very simple ones—would also help. It's not always clear what's happening when nothing is moving.

The music, however, is pretty good. It suits the atmosphere of the game really well, and the ambient background effects are a nice extra touch.

Really cool concept, but I think itay be a bit big for a game jam, would definitely buy the game if worked on for a few months

sozey 2019-10-07 15:26

That's a great entry! I really like the visuals, with the cutout map and the 3d indicators for the movement. The character design is very nice too, although animations would have been a welcome addition. I agree with the above comment, perhaps the scope was a bit too large to polish a game like this on such a short duration. But nonetheless, definitely one of the best entries I've played, congrats!

manimal 2019-10-07 18:47

I think the movement is way too slow for no reason. Sometimes I was clickhunting an enemy or pickable object. Maybe some camera movement around the place will fix some issues. Very nice mood and graphics.

tasakasama 2019-10-07 19:58

A little too slow it would be a bit more dynamic it could really make a good game. and have the ability to turn the camera or zoom

arzi 2019-10-07 22:46

Very nice! The art style reminds me of Hitman/Lara Croft Go game, which is not a bad thing :) I think you used the lowpoly style quite efficiently!

The characters could probably move a bit faster and I thought it was a bit redundant that you had to select the character in the start of every turn when you had just one. Also some kind of highlight when targeting the enemies and others would have been nice.

Overall, pretty great game!

dfva 2019-10-07 23:15

The world is a bit small. I think it would be nice to see those lovely low poly characters in large. But it is fun to play :) At is what matters most to me

hnkxobka 2019-10-08 00:02

Cool models, and WEB, standing ovation!

pinosaur 2019-10-08 01:23

Man, oh man the art style is nice. The overall mood is great. However, I feel like combat is a bit slow and unsatisfying.

did not realize the green ones were enemies in the first round ... and it gets a bit unresponsive in the web version, i like the idea though. There could be stamina, health conditions such as diseases like a jungle based survival strategy game ... i cant get tired of turn based games

feingehacktes 2019-10-08 08:15

Super nice game! Incredible how you managed to make so many levels in 48h^^ I had some problems with picking up some items. But overall it was very nice!

joshua-young 2019-10-08 17:01

Great web version! It reminded me of classic Fallout! Great for the theme and the mechanics are very smooth and rewarding.

ryu 2019-10-08 19:25

Very nice job man! A little bit criticism, the camera is a bit far away, and the walking sound effects can be a bit unpleasant.

a-french-canadian-studios 2019-10-09 01:58

I usually don't enjoy turn based games but this one kept me entertained.

redwiliax 2019-10-09 14:19

A Great Job !

frozencow 2019-10-09 19:20

Good looking turn based game. I'm not the biggest fan of turn based, but I do like the team-play that the game enables. Really well made, especially for 48h.

zgragselus 2019-10-09 23:18

The models are cool and I've enjoyed the turn based mechanics, few notes:

- Camera position is bad, it tends to make you pixel hunt for items or even attacks - Pathfinding doesn't seem correct (I was able to go 'under' the monster without attacking him) - Couldn't go into exit unless I moved closer (related to pathfinding) - Attacking monster repeatedly, while possible often ended up in additional moves - I couldn't see health of monsters (could help a bit when thinking about what tactics to do in fight)

Overall I liked the entry, it looked good, was somehow polished and was fun to play.

Keep up the good work!

rodrigo-denubila 2019-10-10 11:02

It's a interesting game, and I liked a lot this kind of gameplay. Take me a while to understand that I need to click in the character to select him. At first I was clicking everywhere and nothing happenned. Graphics are great, I just missed some animations. But overall is a good job for a Compo game

sam-dower 2019-10-10 20:15

A really nice start to a game, i think the main thing this game needs is a bit more UX and some way to pan the camera round the scene so the player can see whats going on more clearly, but great work none the less

ljol3 2019-10-10 22:45

I love the art, gameplay, and sound.

I do, however, find the pace quite sluggish and its very difficult to discern whom or what I'm clicking on or selected half of the time.

smilewood 2019-10-13 02:23

This is a cool turn-based strategy game, and I think that it does a good job fitting into the theme. I think that there were two things that detracted form my enjoyment of it, a lack of information and the game control. It would have been nice for gameplay to have more information about the enemies so that I could have planned my moves more clearly; not knowing anything about their health or abilities made it feel like I was just gambling whenever I moved towards them. I also felt a lack of feedback from the game about what I was selecting. At times I would have trouble selecting one of my characters, or when two of the enemies stacked into one space I couldn’t tell which I was clicking. The other control improvement that I would have loved would be some way to move the camera, when fighting at the far side of the map I had trouble selecting anything.

I think that you nailed the art design for this game. The levels, characters, and enemies are great. The gameplay itself, while simple, is well done and I did not encounter any major issues, other then what I mentioned above. I thought that the background music was great for the environment that you were setting, and I liked the other sound effects. Overall a great game, that with some polish I could see being an amazing experience.

Nice graphics. I included it in my Ludum Dare 45 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/ckBb1ej2CB8
