When you run the game you immediately think "THIS WAS MADE IN ONLY 72 HOURS?!" Everything the game does is just amazing. Gameplay is simple yet fun, humor is top notch, level design is unique, not to mention the beautiful pixel art graphics (honestly, this is some of the best pixel graphics I've seen). The mechanics seem perfectly balanced, making the game not too hard, not too tricky. Loaded with references, easter eggs and hilarious dialogue, this game is a blast to play. The only difficulty I had was with the camera not skewing enough for me to see the bullets during level 2-3's tower section. Other than that, this is one of my personal favourite submissions.
So for some reason, people's antiviruses have been acting up when downloading the game. I have no clue why but can assure you it's not a malware. I understand if you don't want to download the game for your own safety. Ty for your feedback and reviews and I hope you keep enjoying Ludum Dare 45
This is without question a masterpiece for the ages. Witty humour, unique take on the theme, holy grail vibes, ASTONISHING music, this submission has it all, and to think it was made in a mere 9 hours. Makes me nostalgic for the simpler times of flash gaming. 10/10 would eat 20 cheesewheels again.
I don't even know where to begin. Everything about this game is so good, I have a hard time deciding where to start. Unique, fun and pleasantly challenging gameplay concept, charming visuals, great humour, awesome music, Cereal Killer has it all. Not only does it fit the theme perfectly (in more ways than one, in fact), it is a refreshing, creative take on it.
I'd say a multiplayer version of this would make for a really fun party game. 10/10, can't wait to see this pop up in "The Shelvid Collection" in 7 years.
P.S: That ending got me.
Everything about this game is so good I don't know where to start. I suppose I'll begin with the first thing that blew me away: The aesthetic. The RGB split effect combined with the cat's eye view really makes _arcuswarp come alive. It makes you feel like you're playing it on an actual arcade machine and combined with the gameplay it offers, trust me, if this was an arcade game in the 90s, I'd be saving every quarter for it. The simple yet expressive gameplay feels like if Asteroids and Space invaders had a baby and boy is it majestic. Lastly, the music, perfectly attuned to the hectic yet immersive shooting, is the icing on this cake. The 30 minutes I've spent playing this game have made my day.
10/10 would arcuswarp again.
