I don't even know where to begin. Everything about this game is so good, I have a hard time deciding where to start. Unique, fun and pleasantly challenging gameplay concept, charming visuals, great humour, awesome music, Cereal Killer has it all. Not only does it fit the theme perfectly (in more ways than one, in fact), it is a refreshing, creative take on it.
I'd say a multiplayer version of this would make for a really fun party game. 10/10, can't wait to see this pop up in "The Shelvid Collection" in 7 years.
P.S: That ending got me.

Best game so far!
I like the graphics and the take on the theme is the most creative I've seen so far. It was really challenging but I had fun.
Fighting in cereal bowls is hard, sir! It took me quite a bit of time to get any good at it :laughing:
I loved the humor in this game and the concept is pure gold. Really well done. I didn't like the color choices, though - quite jarring, in my opinion. But that may be on purpose!

It's pretty fun, specially the dialogs. The game itself it's way too hard, I got killed again and again before hiding.

@gonzalol Thank you! Yeah the game can be hard but you can dodge very frequently so with enough speed you can potentially do well :) But yeah, difficulty is very hard to balance on a gamejam especially when you are used to the controls. Thank you again!

Not sure why, could be due to how the archive was packed or unpacked.
Best game I've played so far! Love the dialogue, saluting and punching for immersion. Combat was highly innovative and incredibly hard, but some of the difficulty could be due to using trackpad instead of mouse.

Awesome creative take on the theme! The wack-a-mole gameplay is super fun and when you get the hang of the timing its super satisfying. I love the simplicity of the visuals and the dialogue and setup. Hilarious and fun game, great job!

This was an extremely fun game, I spent a long time playing and I enjoyed every minute. The graphics, audio and humor were on point, and the game matched the theme quite nicely. Great job on this project!
What a unique game! I loved it a lot! I love the double take on the theme at the end, and the punching / sparing the enemies gameplay was satisfying! All that with a great story, well done!

Ha! That was awesome. Thanks for making my evening just a little bit better :) I really enjoyed this. I love absurd humor with shitty paint art (that's what I did a lot when I was still a small stupid child) and this felt really genuine. It oozes the fun you had when making this. The writing is witty and well done and the actual game play mechanics were pretty solid as well! I also found those minigames in between the game play a great addition. All in all, this was a great package! One of the few jam games until now I actually played till the end :) The endless loop twist at the end caught me off guard as well! We also had "fruit loops" on the board when brainstorming but that was scrapped early on. Good to see that someone made something worthwhile with it.

This was legit the best entry I've played so far. My only critique is that it would be nice to have some kind of round counter to keep track of progress. Great job!

Funny game, made me laugh a bit! The mechanic of the cereal moving is cool and clever, and it was nice to teleport around to avoid the bullet.
But, it is a bit too hardcore, I guess I made through max 4 waves, you have to move too much and sometimes I misclicked and you need only one bullet to die =/ Sound for the text is a bit too loud, and also the fact that the more it writes the smaller the text become is very disturbing when reading. Maybe you should just look at how long the string will be and set the font size to be the same for all the text.
Overall it was a nice work!
Edit: I played it a bit more and got to level 3. I'm glad I did because it has given me a bit more laugh (especially those sections where you move the hand in first person) but still it was a bit too hard. Also it was a bit hard to understand the story, probably because how hard it was to follow the text!

The game is great! Many funny jokes, a very interesting mechanic that pleases my fast movement desire in games(especially shooters), great sounds & a very nice approach to the theme! I had to finish it twice to realize I was stuck in a loop!

This was a memorable one:
· The reverse wack-a-mole mechanic albeit a little raw was super fun.
· The absurdity of it all was brilliant.
· And I loved the transitions with the cereal box.
· It was a bit dissapointing not to be able to fight last one back but it rounded the circle so hey.
Pretty solid entry, you can be proud :)

I've been a dev for almost over a decade now and I just really wanted to make something that felt cool at the moment, I'm very glad you caught on that somehow :) I'm also really glad that you and many others seem to be catching on the end twist! I really thought people would just quit cause the dialogue started the same but it seems many people tried a few more dialogue lines. The Frooty Loops idea was a joke at first but the more I thought about it the more I fell in love with it, I haven't even tasted it, I don't even know what it's like, it all started as a stupid joke in my head lol. Thank you a lot and you're awesome for catching some interesting bits about this game like that :)

@toccio94 Thank you! Its unfortunate you found it very difficult, it's very hard to balance a game for every skill level especially in mere 3 days. Also yeah the text getting smaller thing I didn't have time to fix unfortunately, thank you for pointing that out, glad to know I wasn't the only one who thought that was an issue. Thank you a lot!

Yeah I was actually planning ability to fight back the general (But you wouldn't see your fist unless you panic clicked, I wanted to see how many people would panic when at that part) but I unfortunately ran out of time :^) Thank you a ton!

I like almost everything on this. Its amuzing, its fun and cheesy (in a good way).
I wasn't able to land a single shot before getting shot in the face though... i think my reflexes aren't what they suposed to be :)

This is genuinely an excellent idea - the humour and style are absolutely fantastic and I love the original take on "Stuck in a loop".
I think the only thing I would change is the difficulty - the combination of enemy shot speed/size and one hit kills made it really difficult to progress (and sometimes felt a bit unfair :sweat_smile:). Difficult to balance properly in a weekend though, so overall this was great! Just wish I could have managed to get further in the game to see the rest of the content :grin:
What a bizarre game - I love it! Dig the pixel graphics and the dialogue (and whole concept really) is hilarious. Great use of the theme. It's a tad unforgiving - maybe the enemy bullet speed or size could be reduced a bit, but very fun to play. Great job with this!

This was very fun. A bit too difficult at start though. Took me a couple of tries to get used to it. Really great use of the theme. Great art, sounds and humor. It would be great if you can trick enemies to shoot into each other when you're in the middle of them and move just when they shoot.

Really fun game overall, the interactions in between where you only control your hand are making it come to life. The visuals and audio are a bit rough around the edges but very fitting.
The difficulty is pretty high, I would have appreciated if clicks outside the bowl were mapped to the closest loop since this would reward the player more for learning the perfect dodge timing without having the click precision as well.
I really enjoyed playing this :thumbsup:

I really liked this entry! I agree with other commenters, if there's anything wrong here, it's a bit too hard (having more than 1 hp would make it better), but other than that this was great. I especially loved the salute sequence.
This game is ridiculous and fun, but I think it's not good to make enemies to shoot right after they appear, it'll be better, if they have some kind of delay.

@nocity Yeah audio was the last thing I did unfortunately, visuals were intentional though :) I really wanted to have that kind of feature when you click out of the bowl, I still did make it as smooth as I could, without the addition you had to PRECISELY click the loops otherwise you would not move at all, now you can click nearby and it works. I'm glad you enjoyed it and thank you!

Full of humor and great writing. I loved the gameplay too, BUT I literally couldn't get past the first real enemy encounter because it's so damn hard. The enemies just KNOW where I'm going to move next, and fire there, they got wallhax, I'm sure :P I'd love it if the difficulty got ramped up a bit more slowly. Maybe theres a trick I'm missing, but I could barely seem to be able to dodge their bullets, let alone actually shoot them. Anyway, I loved the approach you took on this game, and it definitely turned out interesting. Good job!
