NOTHING TO LOSE by Seththefirst 2019-10-07T21:44:23Z
Looks really really good. I feel like your followers get stuck a lot but outside of that a nice game.

Looks really really good. I feel like your followers get stuck a lot but outside of that a nice game.
Juicy fighting game with a great art style. The flying laser guys were really annoying but the fact you can kill them by throwing other enemies at them makes up for that. The environment is confusing sometimes (since it is invisible until you move there or fight enemies) but this leads to some interesting back-against-the-wall fights. Had a lot of fun playing
Unique tower defense game. Controls are confusing at first. The game also seems to get easy once you start stacking a lot of parts before building them into towers because of stat synergies. I definitely had fun flying around, looting the battlefield and dodging bullets!
Nice concept and good looks. I found the controls a bit unintuitive and I couldn't manage to catch the fish. Had fun hopping around on this little island though
Nice retro feel and great writing. Good job. I loved talking to the engineer, if you know what I mean!
Well done! Consistent, understandable mechanics and a nice soundtrack.
Awesome art, nice sound and an interesting concept. I thought at first that the walk animation was laggy but... x3
I liked that cursed gear is misliked  , I also liked running around and hitting things and the fact that barrels bleed when you hit them. I think the game could give audio feedback when you attack or get hit and maybe the camera needs to follow the player a bit quicker. Nice game overall
A lot of different buildings, interesting core concept. Costs get overwhelming rather quickly.
Nice little fighting game. Has you strategize a little bit around hitting the enemy without trading blows. Movement felt weird with the attacks but it's not hard to get used to it.
Interesting concept and a wonderful game. Quite a few opportunities to get stuck but the little rewards for finding unrelated words counteract that a little.
Original and fun, great voice acting! The comments popping up when you take a photo were a nice touch. Two little issues: I accidentally closed the game by pressing ESC looking for an option to invert the mouse Y axis and I also didn't notice the bouncer was talking the first time I approached him because his voice got lost in the (hilarious) party noise. I had a lot of fun overall and this was the best social media simulator I played so far :D
Nice space physics game. Had fun building my space ship and collecting crew members.
Nice graphics and smooth controls. The movement of the disctracting thoughts is quite unpredictable near the edge. Had fun maditating
Curious game, nice animations. Hard to figure it out but quite satisfying once you do.
Nice looks. Feels super awkward but that seems to be part of the mix. Good job
Awesome game! The story is great and the dialog is well-written. I feel like this game needs some mechanic to make exploring the story quicker the more you already found (if only by having a skip button on options taken in a previous run) but outside of that, this game is amazing.
Great narrative and solid gameplay. As there is no exploration of the dungeon and few enemy types, I think the game could be a tad shorter. Also, does it reset you to the very beginning when you die? This seems pretty harsh for a game in which some might only keep going to get the next piece of (well written) narrative.
Lovely little game
Awesome game! Good job of creating that memorable atmosphere
Nice little defense game. Being killed in one hit feels a bit rough. I really enjoyed causing chain reactions with my shots!
Quirky, original and a lot of fun. Nice way of using the theme. Good Job!
Short and fun. Great item names. Great way of throwing them at me for not collecting them
Nice little level building game. Cute visuals. I feel like the jump and run mechanics could allow more accurate control. Great way of doint the tutorial
I think this game could use some sound and some more animations to learn the combat timing more easily. Good job as it is though. Great narrative
Good mood and outstanding sound design. But... what the heck was I doing in the game?
This was the best spaceship building experience I had in a long time  Controlling that thing felt good, shooting turrets was satisfying. Only thing I think is missing is a mechanic that ends the game if the player loses all thrusters and can't move any more.
Didn't figure out what to do
Great look and feel. The magnet mechanic could be frustrating at times by pulling you off a ledge before you jump. I liked the flying part
Nice color change mechanic and good challenging level design!
Consistent art style, a lot of levels and simple but fun mechanics. Well done!
Nice use of the theme.
Interesting, creative concept. A little frustrating if one runs out of ideas but very rewarding to finally find the solution.
Good looks! :eye: :eye: I like the progression. Fighting feels weird at first because of the long recovery time on enemies but it makes sense once you try to learn the timing and juggle two enemies that surround you. Collecting the radio made for a rewarding moment. I like this short fighting game!
Nice physics platformer. Being sticky feels good. I think that sometimes the system seems to remember where I was aiming before I jumped so I need to take a bit of time just aiming left or right for the slime to jump that way. Outside of that the game is challenging in a good way.
This game has a really nice look and feel. I enjoyed it
Looks and sounds good. Movement is really slow but that doesn't hurt the game as it is.
"Now a whole world exists under your feet" -Looks down at a single long ladder to the top- Love it!
This looks great, wish there was an english version
Nice style and sound. Good ol classic mechanically.
I like the big, green, wobbly test subject and how it changes based on its "health". There might not be a lot of interaction but the game is nice to look at and play around with for a short while. Good job ^^
Neat game, nice look and feel and a cute baby ^^
Liked the concept and overall look and feel of the game.
Nice look and feel, liked the symbolism (like cigarettes and wine glasses lying around, man I wanna have a love letter for a heart too!). Felt good to play.
Nice artstyle and sounds. Like the concept.
Nice cute game around the old but gold concept of Lemmings.
Nice artstyle and sounds. 10/10 would have a sad sock puppet report about spilled milk again.
Interactions make sense, aiming feels spot-on, fire and wolves make everything really frantic, cute looks and awesome voice acting. Good job!
It was nice to find out what all the options did and I like how the player is "guided" to the different endings by that. I had a good time causing the death of countless people by experimenting :D
Completely unrealistic: How did I end up with almost 1500 bucks in a job like this? I like the criticism of the "system" here and the nature of the game gets that across really well. It was stressful enough for me to feel a bit like I was walking in that worker's shoes while not being stressful enough to make me want to stop playing. And toilet humor. Every game is better off with toilet humor. Nice game overall.
Nice little submission. The difficulty curve is steep but huge zombie armies are fun.
Nice atmosphere, fitting art and ambient sounds and fun events. Good job!
Spatial audio done right! Also a great art style. I felt lost at times but that fits the game's tone. The interface has a lovely look and feel to it and the game was fun. Good job!
Lovely game. Solid mechanics, nice retro look and sounds. Jumping and throwing feels a bit slow but otherwise really good. Great polish for a Compo entry ^^
Good look, nice music and great voice acting. Good job!
Really fun, love the aesthetic and the sounds ;)
Nice concept
Nice concept, good looks and music. I liked how the right answer was never quite obvious ^^
Good looks and clever puzzles
Really nice little rhythm game! It took me a bit to figure out the timing and exact rules but once I did it was a good challenge. The character has a nice style, the realistic dance moves are dope and the music is good. Staying aliiiiiiiiive!
@codeforjoycaro I'm always worried about my UI. Happy to know it works ^^ @farbeyond-studio I see where this is coming from, now that you mentioned the dentist xD @samuel-hollywood-summers Happy it was enjoyable to figure out. The music is actually me experimenting with soundfonts for the first time and my library of those is still limited. I agree about the tone, the game's setting is medieval after all =) @wheybags I'm not the greatest pixel artist but I've come a long way. Happy to know I'm making progress on that :D @abdurrahman-khallouf I'm always trying not to make tutorials in a way that I myself wouldn't like to see/play. Focusing the player's attention is a powerful tool! I do see that my jam games tend to be more on the easy side, that's something I will work on in the future ^^
@ all of you: Thank you for playing, rating and giving feedback! <3
Beautiful game, great atmosphere.
Awesome visual style and great atmosphere! Tape puzzles were nice and the first cryptic hint I could find worked well. The remaining hints were too cryptic for me but I'm happy you provided a walkthrough so I could still see all the endings and everything I missed. One of the few jam entries I actually wanted to play again and again to see everything there is to it. Great job on the game
Cute and fun. I liked the unique mechanics and the game's "frame". Good job!
Great execution on a simple but fun concept with some nice irony in it!
Super interesting concept and good job implementing an actual MMORPG for Ludum Dare :eyes:
Really fun game overall, the interactions in between where you only control your hand are making it come to life. The visuals and audio are a bit rough around the edges but very fitting.
The difficulty is pretty high, I would have appreciated if clicks outside the bowl were mapped to the closest loop since this would reward the player more for learning the perfect dodge timing without having the click precision as well.
I really enjoyed playing this
Looks and sounds awesome. The movement sometimes feels a bit clunky with the fixed perspective but it has a good game feel overall. Good job
Lovely cute atmosphere there. The tap jumps felt a bit too quick but otherwise enjoyable game.
Also @gumemura is kinda sus...
Cute looks, lovely music, really fun story and choices. Just awesome
Great art and good polish. Being shifted around along with the entire room you're in feels really cool.
Love the music and the satisfying sound of my squishy brain hitting multiple blocks in rhythmic succession. This got to be the most atmospheric version of Breakout I played so far
Cool intro, nice level of polish, good visuals and atmosphere. I enjoyed the swinging mechanics and figuring out good angles to gain momentum.
Mechanics need a bit of getting used to before they feel nice. Also doesn't run smooth in the browser but still playable. The game gives you the option to reach different places and I felt like I skipped a checkpoint or two at some point and then got confused about where to go next.
Great entry overall
Good story, cool art for the short time (especially with that number of places and characters) and an impressive soundtrack. Good job
Very cool concept and gameplay progression. I feel like the jumps were a bit floaty but it felt good overall
Nice puzzle game around a unique movement concept. Looks and sounds good. I encountered a bug or two and would have loved a bit of background music but still a great game overall. Good job!
The mechanics take a bit of time to get used to but then it plays fine. The art style is very unique and interesting. I love the finished transformation and how losing a lot of weight results in mad breakdancing skillz ^^
@wheybags Fixed the display bug, should look fine on a zoomed-in browser window now. Thanks for reporting!
@codeforjoycaro Time is precious in every jam. The list of things I cut contains individual soundtrack variations for every minigame, explicit indicators for what to do in every situation, a soundtrack for the "search" phases, an intro and outro comic and an additional piece of narrative after playing challenge mode for the first time.
@davidpeterworks I thought about making it a bit shorter; good to know it can be annoying as it is.
@holyperceval This is my statement about hand holding in video games
@theaxe316 Thank you for giving it another shot ^^
And thank you all for playing!
Cool, fresh concept, amazing execution and great animations soundtracks. Pulled me right in and had me play for a while, even though endless "highscore hunt" games aren't normally to my taste. Making decisions to the beat was a great challenge and it was balanced very well to give me just barely enough time to set everything up before a round.
The only weakness I see is the "learnability" as others have pointed out already - I think organizing the UI elements and interactions in a different way (e.g. not dragging to buy) and tweaking icons could have gone a long way, that might have worked well enough even without something like an interactive tutorial. The tutorial page is still very much appreciated!
Great submission overall and super fun to play
Nice humor and chapeau for pulling off a Papers Please-like plus voice acting in just three days
Feels good to control and has an interesting contrast between big and small shield, with the big shield not being a pure advantage because it makes it harder to catch powerups. The sound effects seem to have very different volumes making it hard for me to adjust it to a comfortable level but overall the game is great
10/10 would save a friend again and get stabbed by the knife she was standing on. Good work! Also Godot is Good-ot :muscle:
Looks, sounds and feels great. Good amount of polish an props to you for coordinating a team of 11 people :D
Good job coming up with those puzzles :eyes:
I solved one digit and it wasn't a digit
It made me go

I sincerely wish I had watched a streamer playing this though xD
Really cool art ^^
You finished. You might have had a not-so-professional approach at the start but going for the commentary was a phenomenally good decision. Sometimes you just crash, but THIS is how you crash with grace.
5/5 in the "I learned something" category.

PS: It had some slight "The Beginner's Guide" vibes to it. Maybe something can be done with that... ^^
