I killed an alpaca. I feel bad now. COuldnt figure out what the diamonds were for. But otherwise quite fun game.

I killed an alpaca. I feel bad now. COuldnt figure out what the diamonds were for. But otherwise quite fun game.
So when I stared the game I of course booted up the start with nothing mode, unfortunately it was was a bit hard to know what to do when you cant hit things and when you are only running away from stuff. But after a while of exploring I found a nice flaming sword. I started killing things and thing where feeling a lot better. But then I picked up a worse sword and I was stuck with a normal non flaming sword. You managed the theme well and I you held my attention enough for me to explore your level. good job but I would have liked some more feedback on hat is happening.
Cool Game, I really liked the different starting options and the open world.
I really like my little adventure on your game.
I finished the game by kill alpaca :( . I don't know why I needed diamonds and I could speed run it under 1 min :D :v:

[Cons] Glitchy camera, my head hurts I killed alpaca. Diamonds are useless I don't know whick armor/sword is the best on first run and i picked worse. Can not switch back.
Thank you all for playing and the great feedback! :heart: That you can not switch back to a old weapons or armor is actully a bug which we had overlooked in the gameplay testing. Which will be adjusted in a hotfix (1.0.3) right now.
As you may notice by it's agression stage ... the end boss is a **alpaca look a like demon** so no real lovely alpaca is hurt in this game! :smiley: :v:

That's a nice game! Exploring the map was fun. The real only problem is that is difficult to understand the game. There is no way to understand what is the goal of the game. Are diamonds useless? Wich weapon is better than other? Etc.
The gameplay is nice, and I like the way you put the theme in the starting choices.
The diamonds act like a highscore counter not more or less. Sadly we run out of time to make this more obvious. But I have added a note to the game page now to reduce the confusion. :smiley:
Great game. I enjoyed it, but I would enjoy it more if you gave me more feedback for my actions. Some pushback for the enemies and simple 'hit' sound would do.
I got really excited when I found new sword and armor, but after 3rd or 4th tier 2 gear I lost hope that I would get anything else. Maybe instead of giving me the same armor many times you could accumulate "gear experience" that would level up my armor at certain tresholds.
Also... 2nd level sword should be able to destroy box or barrel in one hit. That's just IMO ;)

I agree with other comments explained here. It is quite difficult to understand what we should do.
In my opinion you definetely hit the theme as you start with nothing. What I ask is why giving me the choice of armor and sword if they are not needed?
Anyway I still think that the game has potential. Just needs some tweaking here and there.

@mattias-cibien Thank you for the feedback. There are some hidden spawners in boxes and so on which can get very tricky without the better armor and sword .. but sure more optimization would be nice but .-. as usual the time constrains hit us very hard on the last day and we are happy to be able to finsh it at all. :clock: :smiley:
It looks good, but the fact that they kill me at the very beginning is bad. They kill me, old-timer dark souls games. Good luck. I love alpacas, but I never saw them.
@jan5366x I understand that. The timeframe is very restrictive, especially when you do the graphics by yourself. Anyway progression seem quite fine when you start to grasp the mechanics.

Really nice and polished. Lovely quality of life touch with the trees turning translucent when passing behind them.
Many jam games (including mine) only have time to create the base mechanics and just enough content to showcase them, it's great that you guys could map out a large island, and even add an end boss different from the standard enemies. Congrats!
Fun game with cool graphics. The blood animation in cool but the sword animation could be improved.

Yes we had to made very hard choises to deliver a game of this "scale" with all assets including music produced in the jam with just 2 developers expecilly without profesional artist and so on. :smile: If we made the right choices ... we will see :smiley:

Let me know if you want to join forces next time ... but I guess you are already playing in the king class "compo" ... I usually like the jam more since it is more fun to work together on a project with beer and :pizza: :smile:
I liked that cursed gear is misliked :laughing: , I also liked running around and hitting things and the fact that barrels bleed when you hit them. I think the game could give audio feedback when you attack or get hit and maybe the camera needs to follow the player a bit quicker. Nice game overall :smiley:
I like how eveything bleeds haha, It's a fun experience. The game feels like a souls game on steroids it'd be cool to actually be possible to survive witht he cursed sword and armor but super hard. Sound levels really need some tweaking, almost lost an ear haha. Great job!!

Game started to lag a lot after a while. Those alpacas seem to breed like rabbits and fill the world. Maybe that leads to optimization problems?
Purple armor sack continuously spawned new one after I picked it up. Next round I player the sword sack did the same. It seems to be related to fully upgraded gear.
I often outran the camera when going south. Maybe speed up the camera movement a bit?
Attack animation could be faster. Usually player attack animations are kept quick without delay.

@keppu Thank You for the feedback, the game just drops the current weapon/armor if you collect an other but since we have the same items in the world multiple times this can lead to confusion.
When I spawn I am immediately killed but an orange blob with the first few seconds. If I keep respawning, his spawn position seems to change, and eventually he will spawn outside the map and I can play for a while.
