I love it-! I seem to be only able to get scores between 1500-1600 though. Looks very clean and I love the artstyle and game mechanic!

Wow what an epic game. The graphics and audio felt really polished and I liked the quick little tutorial at the start to teach the player the controls. The variation in dudes with some giving you lots of money others hard to pull really helped spice up the gameplay. The controls were fun and intuitive and it fitted the theme really well. Overall super impressed! Amazing job

OH MY GOD :joy: That's absolutely hilarious! I loved how this game played it's so much fun. The artwork and sound design is just great, and it's a clever interpretation of the theme

In the most professional manner, BRO: this game is hilariously GOOD. Let's go through the things I like:
1) This makes for such a great arcade experience. If your team ever feels like it, this can go for some stupid fun mobile game kind of thing. Share it with everyone. Let's go kidnap some dudes.
The gameplay as a whole is simple, cohesive. I think it could use more game juice, but by all means, the juice is definitely there though. It's a very well polished game!
2) The audio is amazing. Voiceover, sound effects and that funky music really adds to the feel of the game. You guys really did such an amazing job creating a game with SUCH a strong feel to it!
For any hiccups I have with the game (oh lord, the wild west is getting to me):
1) Throwing the lasso feels... off. I can't quite put my finger on it. It just does. I thought I'd make a point on that. It's not a strongly negative point though but it's worth mentioning.
2) I think it would add to the gameplay if you added a soundeffect when the buff dude, or the gold dude spawns in. It would encourage the player to actively look for it, rather than passively wait for them to come to you (by chance).

This makes me so happy! Initially I thought the controls were clunky but I take it back. Once you get into the flow of dude wrangling they feel like an extension of my body. Absolutely in love ya'll are the best thanks for this.

I enjoyed the sounds that come up while you reeled them in. Appreciate the arrow that shows where you are aiming. I still remember Knit Worth and how much fun I had playing that gem! Saw the animation style and thought Adventure Time meets, well...dudes? Out of the rodeo style games this is the best one. Humour is great and gameplay is solid. Like that it was not just a throw and catch mechanic. Awesome job.

Well.. was strange! Pretty fun game with a weird concept, good music and an unique art style. Also the first Lasso game I found.
Umm, this is incredible. Don't know what else to say really -! (Art - amazing, gameplay - fantastic, weirdness - perfect).
I guess the only thing is the mouse click/drag is inverted, which is a little off-putting at first - but it takes you no time to get used to it. And more dude variety would be great, of course - but the ones that are in there are just fantastic lol

Rofl this game. Humor, graphics, concept, all great. Gameplay really suffers from the poor controls. It would have been better if the lasso was thrown towards the mouse or if the indicator arrow started in the direction of the mouse.

Game has good humor and nice graphics. Sadly my hand can't really handle spamming the mouse buttons. I think including space as an option would be helpful. Also, I couldn't help but find the lasso aim hard. However, this is a well-made entry.

Pretty much impossible not to at least be curious about this game. The art and concept is just so unique.
I actually really enjoyed the unusual controls. Quickly pulling in the opposite direction and then mashing L/R is not a skill I practice at all, so that alone kept my interested trying to figure out how to optimize everything.
The highlight of the game by far was the golden dude coming outta nowhere for the first time. Did NOT expect that and it put a smile on my face.
Very well done. Usually with games with this crazy a concept and art, the gameplay doesn't live up to it, but it certainly did here!

absolutely love the character design of this game! Those quadruped dudes are hilarious.
And the game was super well crafted and polished as well! I really liked how unobtrusive, yet descriptive the tutorial was. And all the other aspects of the game (sound fx, ui, etc) were solid too!
I found the controls to be intuitive, though I will admit that my first instinct was to make circular motions with my mouse and then fling it in the direction I wanted (probably harder to implement lol).
Overall, great work! I really enjoyed it!

Great art style! Took me a while to get the relation with the them but then the penny dropped :)
One thing I'd nitpick: at least on the WebGL version, the mouse cursor was free to move out of the game, so I ended up clicking outside after lassoing a dude.
I like the control scheme, the game also reminds me of ram ranch, nice.

had me chuckling from the start! you took a funny idea and backed it up with great execution and polish. I wanted more but that's obviously a limitation of game jams not what you guys achieved. Unlike some other comments i thought the controls were spot on :ok_hand: (though i might of struggles on laptop). Great job, nicely done!

***Is there something accidentally... kinky about this?*** :eyes: Jokes aside, this was a very and fantastic fun play! It needs no explanation why it excels at both gameplay and humour, and I immediately felt in love with it from the moment I started playing it! :sparkles:
Gameplay-wise, the game was very straight-forward to the point. I was a bit concerned when I saw the controls were about aiming in the opposite direction, but after a minute it just clicked into place and it worked perfectly from there.
I really like how the wrangling of DUDES feels, and I really like how you've included the different types that appear as you collect the defaults, and it was very fun to chase after the golden guys. From wrangling right next to each dude to get the points faster, or throw a longer loop to score more points while pushing, there's a lot of strategy that can be pulled away from this (hah!).
The only other thing that left me kind of off visually was how blurry the grass was compared to the crispiness of everything else. However, that's only a small detail. Everything else from the looping character animations of the characters, to the choice of music and even the inclusion of wild-west-esque voicework really added a top-notch quality seal on this game.
I tried to aim to get as far as @jenkinz94 did and try to grab the highscore of this thread, but I went as far as I did before my wrists started aching. **I guess I will have to settle for my score of 3440$ instead then!** When I get the chance I will make sure to give it another try! :ok_hand:

Keyboard Cowboy games have a way of really grabbing you and pulling you in. The artwork, the gameplay and honestly the simplicity at the end of the day keep bringing me back even when I think I've achieved all I can within the game. That being said - I think I've truly reached the highest of heights. I've decided 4500 is possible and will be going for it. I encourage others to try and race me! I was already sold on this after "Welcome to Dude Ranch!" :D Needed a few seconds to figure out the controls, but after that it was just a lot of fun. I have no idea how on earth it's possible to score a highscore of more than 4000$ though, I don't even get half of that! I guess catching dudes isn't what I should do for a living.
That was fun :) Great humor and graphics aside, I really liked the way you introduced the controls!
Dude Ranch really rocks! Love the concept and the art - both the dudes and the 3D thingos around the side, and the animation was real good. The gameplay was fun and simple - might want to think about spicing up the lassoing but overall a lot of hilarious fun!
Very fun game! I love the graphics, they were very polished and had a consistent theme. The mood together was great, the music and sfx really tied it all together. I found the gameplay was a bit too simplistic, so personally I didn't find that there was much replayability, but I did enjoy every round I played. Well done!

wow this is very funny, did find it odd that you're better off just mashing both buttons and running over dudes waas the best strategy, maybe shoudlve had them stay a certain distance away to make them harder to wrange? IDK good fun either way!

I wish that throwing the lasso where more responsive, not sure if it was some lag issue here, but when I start charging it take a little while for the arrow appear. it is barely noticeable tho.

This is a great jam submission. The gameplay was **very tight**. I can't really find any recommendations to make other than to add more content. Lack of content is understandable for a tight deadline. The sounds, the art, and the game loop felt fun. Perhaps you can prohibit the players from throwing a rope if they don't charge it enough to stop people from just running around spam clicking.

This was a hillarious game. The topic was respected in a really interesting way. The graphics are ridiculous. The sound and music fits perfectly. One thing - I don't know how you people get to 4000 points. Best I can do is 1400ish. I found a small bug (may have been reported already). When you pull in a guy, sometimes he gets stuck really close to you and you can keep smashing the mouse buttons which flips the guys from one side of you to the other. You keep getting money and you can't ever actually catch the guy. Anyway, amazing work guys!

Graphics were phenomenal and fun, sound effects were great, music set the mood well. Presentation gets 9/10.
The actual game was fun and great, but here there was more room for improvement (as it should be, when you make a game in such a short time period). It got very spammy and chaotic but I never felt cheated- which is always good.
Aside for more content, I don't see how the game could be much better. Bravo!
Well done! That's what I call a polished experience! You got everything right: Great art, fluent and snappy controls and game play and even fitting music and sound effects. The core game play loop is intuitive and easy to understand. The tutorial in the beginning was still a nice touch. Very much appreciated. The controls worked well, but I found the emphasize on the mouse buttons to reel in the goods a little annoying. Bashing the mouse buttons didn't feel satisfying for me and I felt really bad for my mouse :D But that's just a minor, personal gripe. The humor in your game was a nice touch and absurdity is always a good pick for a jam game to out a smile on my face. Did I already say that the art was awesome? Not only the practical implementation but also the art direction itself is very well done. Coherent assets, a nice western color palette and the slight perspective due to the stage being a 3d environment were a nice touch.
All in all, a very well made entry! Good job

Thats a great game with a great execution ! It's fun, the humor and weirdness is so cool, the art is great, the only thing I find a bit strange is the scoring system. I don't really understand if grabbing a dude from far gives more point than catching it from close, I feel it should because it's harder, but when I tested both strategies, I ended up with almost the same score.
Good thing they had their undergarments on.. Nice job with the perspective and unshaded objects out of bounds, Loved the mechanics and the animations, I'd like to be able to spend money to upgrade my strength or something. It was somewhat a kinky experience lol, loved it. good job people

Had a lot more fun with this game than I expected when I played it on-stream. In particular, the tactile feel of lassoing and reeling in...dudes...felt great, and greatly contributed to the experience. I also appreciate that, slightly illogically, a thrown lasso follows your player movement, making it easy to correct one's aim. And of course, the graphics and sound effects are top-notch.
It would be interesting to see how, if there are any plans, this game could be expanded upon. For one, I would like to see the lasso controls slightly more polished through experimentation and playtesting, as while the reeling felt great, launching the lasso was a bit unintuitive at first. I'd also love to see power-ups and obstacles added into the game to slightly complicate the immediate objective.

Nice to see you guys at it again with the zany humor! You probably know this already, but it looks like the "this game" and the "highscore" numbers are switched? The tunes are great, the animations are on point, and the gameplay is fun enough to give me carpal tunnel syndrome. I like how the gold dudes leave behind a trail, so sometimes you can stumble across a golden scent and follow it for that cash money. I only have one doubt: is the money you get from each captured person random? Because even if I captured more people than the screenshot in the description above, the score is lower. I don't know if it's because the screenshot is old, but it would bother me a bit if the score is luck-dependent.
Overall a great entry. I would love to see a mobile version with some powerups/other features!

My god this idea is so funny, it'd be like if MAD magazine tried to make a game. The western theme went really well, and I liked the challenge of capturing the bigger and gold dudes. Took a while to get used to the controls since you have to aim by moving the mouse in the opposite direction to where you want to throw. Really fun work.
Such an awesome game! Really funny premise, great use of the theme, and very-well executed! My only tiny complaint is you didn't capture the mouse and I end up frantically clicking on my other window.
There are a lot of subtle game-design decisions that you did a really good job with. I like how the player has to decide if it's better to chase down the more-valuable dudes or go for the easy kills, and also if it's better to get closer to the dudes to catch more of them or rope them from a distance for more money per dude. I wasn't that great at it, I could only manage a highscore of $1792, but it was really fun! It's addictive and there's a lot of replay value in trying to beat your score.
I enjoy watching you guys on stream and I'm going to check-out your back-catalog of LD games after seeing this one. Keep it up!
Nice use of the theme. The golden dudes are hilarious. The main gameplay loop got repetitive fairly quickly for me. I think if the lasso mechanic was a bit more interesting / had a higher skill ceiling, that would help. And I think some clear behavioural differences between the different dudes would also help.
