LD44 — Your life is currency

The Battle for Slime King on Slime Mountain by MrTroy 2019-04-30T02:19:59Z

This might just be a typo, but on your itch website you have it saying left click and right click which makes sense, but in this description it says left ctrl and right ctrl

Spirits of the Unknown by TheSomeoneXD 2019-04-30T03:59:51Z

the itch.io page for HTML5 is going to a error not found page for me

[Don't] Insert Coin by Danilo Freire 2019-04-30T17:58:47Z

It was fun and a novel idea, I thought it was funny. The gameplay got repetitive, but I understand - my game is repetitive as well because of the time constraint

Force of Nature by Griddolini 2019-04-30T02:57:22Z

I couldn’t figure out how to move, RMB did nothing, I was able to plant a bunch of stuff and attack in place but nothing else. I really liked the artwork and music though :)

Force of Nature by Griddolini 2019-04-30T04:38:16Z

@bakenshake ohhh I thought it was the keys r, m, and b, to move the tree and I was very confused. I like the game even more now, despite certain parts still being confusing :)

MEGATOID by GullynGames 2019-05-02T01:55:45Z

I would suggest increasing the speed of the enemies, they all move very slowly

Tales of Haroldo! by iagorigel 2019-04-30T13:56:02Z

Very nice audio and graphics! Ggggggame Overrr

The Gardener by BackwardsCap 2019-04-30T04:36:20Z

This game really deserves more attention, I think it's really original and a cool idea, I had a lot of fun playing

Barter In Blood by snowinn 2019-04-30T17:43:28Z

Yeah sorry guys for not including a way to restart, I got pushed to the last minute to submit this game and I would’ve included a way if I had a little bit more time. I think that would be against the rules to change it now though.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Woofice Chair! by JorgeGameDev 2020-10-25T05:05:53Z

This game was really funny and cute. I love the concept of spinning in a rolly chair as a dog (anything with dogs will get 5 stars) and defending against massive squirrel, pidgeon, etc. bodybuilders. Like oh my gosh they really have never skipped a day. Love the art, music, idea all great.

Mr. Cheeks Sweet Dreams by MrTroy 2020-10-06T16:03:05Z

Very fun and addictive game! I love the artstyle and the scream at the start was unexpected and hilarious. The music really helped set the mood as a creepy nightmare and I loved it all around. I also made a game with a hamster, but in mine you are leveling up the hamster as he runs on a wheel !

Astronaut Plus Skateboard 2: Galactic Boogaloo by CliffracerX 2020-10-07T03:29:52Z

The game is very good and fun to play, however I would suggest trying to make a game around the theme next time rather than using a bunch of stuff from your old game and making a sequel. You can do that at any point, but the point of a game jam is to challenge yourself to make a game from scratch based on the constraint of the theme. I love the reference to Electric Boogaloo and I think you've improved a lot.

Block Runner 2049 by LandoSystems 2020-10-07T17:13:24Z

Cyber punk tetris? Sign me up !

a nice place by netmute 2020-10-14T17:42:12Z

This was a really cute story, and while you didn’t do the graphics category, I do really like the graphics and think it adds to the overall mood. I like the theme of being stuck in like a groundhog situation. For some constructive criticism, I don’t think you should hear the wave sounds inside the cabins and etc. Nice work!

Ponkball by ted 2020-10-07T03:43:46Z

This is a fun game and pretty good for a one day jam! I think you have an small UI bug when you die though, and I don't know how to restart (besides refreshing)

Stuck in a drum loop by rodobodolfo 2020-10-22T23:08:56Z

5 star for innovation this game rocked (pun intended). I love seeing games that go out of the box with the theme like this one, and avoiding the beats as they come at you, getting progressively harder, was so cool. All the sandbox features was also a nice addition. Great job!

Hide and Seek by DDRKirbyISQ 2020-10-23T15:40:58Z

This game was terrifying. I love all the twists, jump scares, and how where the bedroom should be turns into a loop. Truly amazing game, the sound effects and art were also so great.

Niki the Ghost by interstateeight 2020-10-07T04:26:39Z

This was a cool take on a memory game ! I like how the music built as you got the gems correct!

Dangled by ansoneh 2020-10-06T20:32:16Z

This game was very challenging, but I kept playing because it was very fun and the music was great, despite being rage inducing ! Great job!

Cursed Labyrinth by marbles 2020-10-07T06:13:35Z

I’m kinda confused by this game. Am I just supposed to be watching the player complete these levels? I would like to be engaged more with the game.

DEATH STRING by miziziziz 2020-10-06T03:31:12Z

This was pretty cool and fun ! I found myself more trying to use the loop as a whip against the enemies rather than getting them stuck in the loop, but that’s make it interesting that there’s multiple strategies to try out. It was a nice difficulty curve with a variety of enemies and a cool end boss. On webgl, the last boss wasn’t playing any music, but I don’t know if you had that problem or if it was intentional, but it could’ve used a cool boss fight song.

DEATH STRING by miziziziz 2020-10-06T05:11:07Z

@miziziziz I just listened to the boss music from the source code and it was really cool, it fits with the rest of the game and amplifies it for the boss, nice job dude

Loopy Mansion by Sarah 2020-10-07T04:35:48Z

Excited for this update! Looks cute!

Loopy Mansion by Sarah 2020-10-08T04:56:57Z

@Sarah you have the movement mapped to WASD but the Attack and Defense also mapped to the A and D keys

Loopy Mansion by Sarah 2020-10-08T17:11:40Z

@sarah sorry I just stumbled around in the dark for a while and thought there might’ve been enemies that it was just to dim to see, I got it working now and rated it! Very fun game, I think the ghosts are cute

Dungeon Simulator by Yeti Kid 2020-10-06T03:57:44Z

I like this concept a lot of you taking control of building the dungeon to protect against heroes. However, I wish there was a better tutorial or something in the game, because I couldn’t figure out how to place things that aren’t walls and the heroes would just walk right past them. I like the pixel art graphics and the general feel is pretty spooky. Nice job !

Fractman by samh 2020-10-06T01:50:58Z

All I see is a link for the source code ? Looks like a very creative idea, I’d be interested in playing

Gene Cycle by joh 2020-10-07T03:45:01Z

This is a unique idea and I'd love to try it if you port it to mac or web!

Gravity Blade by chainedlupine 2020-10-06T00:55:55Z

I’d love to play if you port it to Mac/Web!

Gravity Blade by chainedlupine 2020-10-08T05:32:25Z

Great job! The music was good, the gameplay was fun, and I loved the graviton snare mechanic. I think you had enough enemy variety and the controls felt good. Nice work!

Pendulum Jumps by svntax 2020-10-24T03:49:42Z

Very creative idea and nicely executed. I found it very addictive to keep playing to try and get a higher score to pop balloons next time. I found it a bit difficult to get back to the top once you went to the bottom or gaining speed after losing it, but part of the game is just figuring out how to best do that. Nice job!

Purgatory is a Music Store by MattWoelk 2020-10-07T03:54:43Z

This game looks very cool, I would love to play it if you get a mac port

Magical Girl Storms The Castle by dracominer 2020-10-20T16:03:41Z

This is a really cool and unique idea! I like how the main goal is to just be healing your friends, but I think you should have a resurrect function or a really weak attack because if all of your friend attackers die, you just have to kill yourself and try again. I liked the pixel art and animations, a very nice concept and execution.

HamsterLoop 2020 by johnnysix 2020-10-24T03:28:34Z

This is really fun ! I love the art and I like the take on theme being hamsters trying to get to the hamster wheel (loop) by going through loops. The duality of the hamsters made for some interesting puzzles. Nice job!

Mystic Dungeon & Mighty Mustache by namnam 2020-10-06T15:46:01Z

Wow that was really fun to play ! I think it was a little easy but it was still fun to just grind through the dungeon taking risks and defeating goblins. The idea of having the player go do it while you stay in the place with the shopkeepers was also a unique and creative idea. It could use a better inventory system so you can see which items you have and what they do, but great job!

The Looper Encounter by Shaolin Dave 2020-10-07T04:22:39Z

This game was a very solid entry ! The game looks good, the mechanic of looping around the enemies and killing them was both creative and very fun to use. I'd like to see there be more enemies faster because it started off pretty slow. Great job!

Hoop Knight by lectvs 2020-10-06T05:20:26Z

This is one of the most creative and fun games I have played so far. It’s funny that the knight is killing enemies by hula hooping, but also a really creative take on the theme. I also like the graphics and music, it’s just a fun game.

Snaketroidvania by Antti Haavikko 2020-10-14T07:12:15Z

This game was AWESOME ! I loved the unique premise on the snake trying to escape his never ending gameplay loop, and escaping to new levels is a really creative take on the theme. I loved the explosions when you die, the music change to really set the mood, and the puzzles where you had to use the snake’s body to open doors or gain new abilities like reversing around. The game looked really nice and polished, well done !

Dude Ranch by ColeSlaughter 2020-10-17T05:53:12Z

Such a wacky idea ! I love it !

GitGood Dungeon by Quoclon 2020-10-06T04:05:45Z

As it’s made in unity, you should install the webgl component and upload it for web. It will allow more people to play it, so people with a mac that are interested can vote on your game. :)

Loop Lock Malfunction by GuitarBro 2020-10-12T05:47:17Z

Wow this game is very polished and the movement was pretty cool and nice. I would work a little on the camera being extra sensitive to movement as well as the mouse senstivity moving the camera a lot. It was kind of hard to control and sometimes the camera would be spinning around. Nice job!

Shaman Dance by agrdev 2020-10-27T18:47:20Z

The concept is strong and I like the innovative take on the theme. It was hard to get the hang of how to play the game (include a tutorial next time) and I don’t think I moved everytime I tried to move with the arrow keys while the move action was available. Also, you should make there be a restart button so I don’t have to reload the page everytime. Nice job!

Do-While-For by primitive-concept 2020-10-17T05:49:59Z

Love the final boss fight! Very unique to put kittens and scary together but it works. Great job!

Loop Frogs by GaryS 2020-10-07T00:18:48Z

I love this game ! It reminds me of chronolooper which was also very fun, but I like how in this one, it’s two different frogs that you switch between. The art is cool and that sound effects were pretty funny. I think I found a bug where the green will loop as the green +orange one while the orange one stays still (2 orange ones), but it wasn’t gamebreaking. Very fun game dude, great job.

Roller Riches by dxk2294 2020-10-18T00:47:42Z

This was really fun ! I liked the humor of gaining money from the money falling from customers pockets. Lots of gameplay available with numerous upgrades and different things to build. Nice job!

The Facility by Invixel 2020-10-20T23:23:50Z

I love the spooky atmosphere of this game! The text reads a bit slow for me, so I would like an option to speed it up. The pixel art is awesome. If I were you, I wouldn’t bash you game saying “it’s not fun” in the description; you can say you wanted to add puzzles, but leave it up to the players to decide if they like the game or not. You might be surprised by the feedback you get!

Cricetus Apparatus by Jima 2020-10-06T20:34:19Z

I have a hamster wheel in my game too! I love the 3d graphics for this though and the idea that you are using them to mine cryptocurrency. Great creativity and awesome game !

App-ocalypse by ReDDarKwh 2020-10-19T23:23:13Z

Very innovative take on the theme! I liked the idea of shooting away the apps with brainpower and the music helped set a good mood. A bit ironic how I am using this game to procrastinate 😂

Same day - AGAIN? by CrispyPear 2020-10-24T03:34:34Z

I love this idea ! It’s total minigame madness and it’s very addictive. The hardest minigame for me was the hamburger one lol cause I’m using a trackpad. Definitely a creative take on the theme and I love the art. Nice job !

Defuse in under 5 by Darylsteak 2020-10-07T04:12:29Z

This is an awesome concept ! It's fast paced, it's very replayable because you can change the time, and it was fun figuring out the level at first. If you had more time, it would be cool to see more levels.

Phil Alone by Gabriel Dias Oliveira de Almeida 2020-10-06T05:12:48Z

This seems like a really neat idea and I love games with multiple endings so if you port it online or to mac lmk !

Phil Alone by Gabriel Dias Oliveira de Almeida 2020-10-06T19:19:41Z

Wow this game is awesome! I knew there were different endings but I didn’t expect to get MURDERED in this peaceful little game. You can never see what’s going to happen next and it’s a great puzzle I spent a while beating (I did it in 11 days !).I love the pixel art as well, it’s a really cool game.

Loophole Kingdom by MateusBoga 2020-10-06T20:12:43Z

Very fun game and the art is especially good ! From your blog post, it sounds like you learned a lot about not overscoping and taking on too much to handle for a game jam. I'm glad and very excited to see what you make next time !

Schrodinger and the Quantic Forest by Elrric 2020-10-06T20:39:55Z

The artstyle and music are top notch and I love how you are Schrodinger's cat with the box on your head lol. I think the puzzle aspect of using the portals was very cool. Overall, great work.

Super Jump Guy by F1Krazy 2020-10-15T00:34:46Z

Super cute platformer! The controls felt nice and a very satisfying ending ;)

Echo Anomaly by Fonics 2020-10-06T04:46:54Z

These were some really great graphics and music to accompany it, it really had a great feel to it. The puzzles are a little hard to wrap your head around what you are supposed to do, but as there are only three they have to be challenging! Overall great game.

Beyond Death by Trypants 2020-10-07T17:06:49Z

The graphics are incredible! I love the mechanic of your dead bodies staying behind and using them to complete puzzles, and it fits very well with the theme. Impressive work !

Rat Inc by Wouter Deferme 2020-10-06T19:47:05Z

Hey my game is very similar to this one, I have a hamster leveling up in a wheel! I love the voice acting in this game and the pixel art graphics are fantastic. It’s a lot like cookie clicker, which I also spent a lot of time playing 😂. Nice creative take on the theme !

Countercl0ckwise by Iker Díaz 2020-10-18T01:33:38Z

This was an awesome game! I love the pixel art and it’s a really unique platformer and creative take on the theme. Nice job!

Hamster Simulator by Alfadas 2020-10-06T00:52:17Z

Hey if you made this with Unity any chance you can port it to mac or webgl ? I’d love to play. I also made a hamster simulator lol (hamster-simulator-2) but mine’s pretty different

Hamsta's Paradise by brookman 2020-10-18T22:25:26Z

Hey I made a hamster game too! I love how this game is 3D however and a whole lot better graphics. Love the music, the gameplay, and the pun of Hamsta’s paradise. Nice job !

Broodmother by SludgeKey 2020-10-18T00:52:54Z

Overall very fun! I liked the mood set by this wacky game of becoming a brood mother. I would’ve included more of a tutorial at the beginning about what you can eat and birthing monsters to fight for you, but overall great job !

Looper by Maytch 2020-10-05T23:31:19Z

This is a really unique idea and it was really fun! It was a little hard to get used to, but I had fun in the process just duplicating myself ! I think occasionally loops would be created that I didn’t intend so instead of having all control schemes active at once it would’ve been nice to be able to switch between them. Also, spacebar is popular for jump but it would be nice for people like me who prefer the up key as an option.

Train Rush by Panagiotis Iatrou 2020-10-06T01:28:28Z

I was playing the web version and I like the music and the graphics, but whenever I tried to play the inventory blocked the bottom half of the screen so I couldn’t see anything down there. Let me know if you fix this but I liked the music and pixel art!

SUNSTYX by Jasper Hansen 2020-10-20T05:32:14Z

Hey if you port to Mac or Web I would love to play and rate your game to return the favor.

Hold "A" To Win! by 420blazeit 2020-10-12T05:55:52Z

Nice job ! It’s a simple game, but it’s creative and I like the secret of jumping through the right side to break through the loop. I wonder what’s the most anyone’s held the A button?

Broken Dungeon by PurpledArtFrog 2020-10-07T17:11:17Z

This game reminds of Realm of the Mad God. Very fun game and an interesting mechanic. It took a little bit to figure out what I was supposed to do, so I would include a tutorial next time. Great work!

Curse of King Uroboros by Echo GameWorks 2020-10-07T01:57:34Z

I wish there was a webgl or mac port for this !

LoopChan by Kaish 2020-10-07T02:01:54Z

Great job! I love these rhythm based games and I like the moving of the conveyor built to the music as well as the beautiful pixel art.

Return to Loop's Bend by kristinamay 2020-10-06T01:24:24Z

Nice job ! I like the pixel art and while it’s not complete like you said, it’s pretty impressive for a game jam game!

Auraboros by nicross 2020-10-24T03:42:20Z

This is a really novel idea and I like the uniqueness of creating an endless shooter without visual feedback. I would however make sure the player knows that game is meant to be played in total darkness, because I was very confused until I read some of the comments and understood what ‘audio game’ meant. The highest score I got was 598, clearly not as good as the master, you. 😂

Just another Day by Jeremia 2020-10-06T05:24:30Z

This game is really interesting, I’m on a mac but I would play it if you ported it online

Turbo Hamster by Nisanick 2020-10-07T17:16:20Z

Hey my game is just like this one! I would say yours has best graphics, but my goes more on the them of showing all the stats at once and using an animated hamster over a real world gif. Check it out if you get the chance!

Jack's Inferno by mharring 2020-10-06T15:36:36Z

This game was a blast to play! The music sets a nice mood despite being in hell (lol), and the pixel art is beautifully done. The gameplay was fun trying to kill the monster and save the sheep, and the boss fights were cool. A very in depth game for just 72 hours! I would’ve made the levels more circular (still can have some variation but the general shape is circular) to go with the theme of circles of hell, and the player being stuck in a loop.

LÖÖPS by Tamail 2020-10-07T04:29:47Z

LOOPS THE GAME? The art was amazing and I loved the concept. The music fit well and all together a great game.

MONKEY BUSINESS by QuadApe 2020-10-06T15:20:17Z

Very nice game! I’m glad that you also tested it for Mac and provided the terminal tip for downloading it. By doing this, you can increase the number of people who can play so great job. The gameplay loop was solid and it was fun to wall jump around, try and slide and crouch jump high to get through the maze fast, and go for a faster time each time.

JANTOR by tammukka 2020-10-05T23:05:41Z

I can’t play it but I voted for just graphics, they look sick

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-06T00:38:57Z

@instanttrain The reason for endurance is that it’s still a penalty in having to wait for the hamster to slow down all the way and wait 2 seconds, not to mention the faster you go, the quicker your endurance is depleted so to get to really fast speeds, you have to upgrade endurance eventually (unless you’re just a button mashing god ;) ). I’m glad you liked it and I hope you port your game to mac or web so I can play it !

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-06T04:26:56Z

@kassie-kitsune yeah that is a good idea, i found myself mashing with one hand and trying to navigate to the upgrade panel with the other on the mouse so maybe hotkeys or something

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-06T04:29:35Z

@carson-bentley I’m glad you liked it ! I thought I was doing something wacky but it seems like a lot of people had similar ideas; I’m glad the execution of the idea went well ! Hamster expressions and spoof companies are also cool additions, I just went with keeping it simple this time around

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-06T15:07:04Z

@cliffracerx I’m glad you liked it and thanks for the feedback! I found myself addicted to playing it as well when I should’ve been working on it :)

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-06T15:07:58Z

@unhandyred That’s the highest level I’ve seen so far, even farther than me ! Very impressive 😂

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-06T15:09:11Z

@narffy @vsi @slothinatorgames @loligxp @apfel @bridgeonastick thanks for the feedback!

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-06T16:10:44Z

@codehacher123 I wanted to add a tournament mode where you could fight other hamsters in battles of speed, acceleration, and endurance but that was out of the scope for the timeframe. The leveling system also isn’t as addictive to all. Thanks for the feedback !

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-06T18:31:38Z

@thevideogamester Thanks for your feedback! If I were to update it, I would definitely add a way to upgrade without opening up the menu as it does stop you from playing to open up the menu. You are right.

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-06T18:33:00Z

@skiwee if you upgrade duration enough you could get a to a certain speed and then leave it on idle for a while 😂. But yeah that would be a cool route I could take

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-06T18:34:44Z

@zepapa yeah i definitely had a few times while making it when i was just like, okay I’m really making a game where you level up a hamster this is totally normal

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-06T18:37:02Z

@asimov I know what you’re talking about and the middle ‘leg’ is actually supposed to be the tail, but I completely see where you’re coming from

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-06T19:22:43Z

@nyubi Those are all great ideas ! I’m working on another project called Escape Path which is like a cave adventure where every choice you make impacts the story, but maybe eventually I’ll come back to this !

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-06T21:12:51Z

@gamedev-and-architecture @mateusboga thank you ! it definitely gets addictive and keeps you engaged

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-06T22:09:00Z

@eldogg yeah I made the music! I used the online program soundtrap to make it, it’s easy to use but definitely took a while to make the song

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-06T22:11:52Z

@dotsquare yeah my friend took a video of his hamster running on sunday and I took keyframes from it, cropped it, converted it to 128 x 128 pixels, converted it a gif, and then opened the files in pyxel edit and made the hamster animation over it. I used this tutorial : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUfVidxYIsY by @miziziziz he has some great stuff

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-06T22:16:41Z

@rhoff95 what browser did you use to play it? It shows the speed on the right side and if you press the right key, you will go faster. The gameplay hook is as you go faster, the hamster will level up and you can see how upgraded the abilities are once you level up and see the various traits such as acceleration. The animation starts out really slow, but you’ve got to smash that right key and it will go faster, even really fast.

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-07T00:05:22Z

@unhandyred I’m so glad you two like it so much ! you’ve gotten further than I even imagined anyone would go 😂 true mvp

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-07T00:06:50Z

@empty-set yeah i just ran out of time unfortunately but definitely a good idea to add greater incentive to keep going further

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-07T06:07:25Z

@shaolin-dave @marbles thanks for the feedback!

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-07T14:41:20Z

@tamail what level did you make it to? the problem i’m seeing is that the hamster speeding up or slowing down isn’t as clear during the earlier levels with the low acceleration and speeds, which may add to the confusion people are having. I know I could’ve added more visual effects, but the hamster clearly does speed up and slow down if you upgrade them enough.

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-07T18:55:18Z

@mykola @tommy thanks for the feedback!

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-08T17:13:08Z

@spyranteros yeah I realized that but I submitted it like a minute before the deadline so oops ;)

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-08T17:16:02Z

@seth-tal thanks, I’m really glad you liked the ridiculous premise, I had no idea if people would like it or think it’s too weird @jbduenol Nice job! @matthewjd389 @fonics thanks for the feedback! I found myself playtesting it for longer than I should too

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-12T02:22:03Z

Yeah @duke I’m not a huge fan of idle games either but I thought I added a little more engagement and I ran out of time for some of the other features I wanted to add in the game, but I like how it turned out. Thanks for the feedback!

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-14T06:53:14Z

@matootsy @trexxak thanks for the feedback!

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-14T07:03:16Z

@antti-haavikko thanks for all the constructive criticism ! The game can theoretically run in the background if you get your endurance really high and then get it up to a max speed and let it run at the speed for a while (but like you said pretty slow compared to upgrading acceleration or max speed). I like your ideas for new features or making it more like an idle game. I agree with the controls being kind of awkward but I would rather stick with the right key being accelerate and having keyboard shortcuts for the upgrades. It makes it more different than just another clicker game. As you pointed out, the colors look horrible everywhere except for the hamster gif. This was definitely a case of don’t put too much work on the last day. Thanks again !

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-14T20:28:16Z

@antti-haavikko thanks again for the feedback ! I really enjoyed your snake game

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-15T15:06:27Z

@f1krazy thanks for the feedback! I like the autosave idea, I’ll have to look up how to do that for future projects

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-17T15:11:17Z

@flying-dog-fish hahaha thanks man!

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-17T16:22:31Z

@kuro I like the leaderboard idea! Thanks for the feedback !

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-18T00:41:54Z

@leon-oost your hamster was zooming!! Nice job! Thanks for the valuable feedback, I did do things to try and make it so it would slow down faster if you had a higher acceleration but I guess I needed more.

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-18T01:27:18Z

@pee-thief @jenny-bourke thanks for playing my game on your stream! that was really awesome!

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-18T14:29:28Z

@dcrdro The final goal isn’t set in stone because the game goes on forever, so you can decide based on what you upgrade if you want to try and become the fastest hamster, or run as long as you can without stopping, or run the longest total distance, etc. Thanks for the suggested improvements, the UI and graphical feedback could definitely use some work

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-20T05:25:14Z

@exilegl thank you for posting your score and I’m glad you enjoy the game!

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-20T05:30:58Z

@jasper-hansen OH MY GOSH WHAT?!??! I can’t even believe that anyone would’ve played my game for that long to get to level 1000 😱!! You have truly earned the rank of the Legendary Hamster God. I don’t think anyone’s going to come close to that. Thank you so much for playing and commenting, you are truly the GOAT.

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-20T11:44:04Z

@johnnysix I think you did very well, @jasper-hansen is just something else 😂. Thanks for all the suggestions, I especially like the idea of the hamster going too fast and whizzing around the wheel.

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-21T03:51:33Z

@ddrkirbyisq Thanks for the feedback! That’s a neat strat too, hadn’t thought of that! :D

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-21T14:21:56Z

@peace-of-cake-games Thanks for playing ! I’m glad you liked the ‘awesomeness’ :)

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-22T13:58:34Z

@unhandyred @jasper-hansen You guys are the best 😂 2 hours well spent, you have reclaimed your throne

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-24T17:13:57Z

@rubixnoob13 I’m glad you like it! The time is supposed to reset, it’s if you want to keep track of how long you can run without stopping or can be used for things like how fast can you run 1000 m, etc.

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-25T16:18:44Z

@moski thanks for the kind feedback!

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-25T23:47:07Z

@coleslaughter Thanks for playing my game on stream ! The notification of ‘why are you running’ was perfect 😂. The animation is rotoscoping, I got my the idea to make the game from my friend who went a video of their new hamster zooming in the hamster wheel.

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-26T14:12:35Z

@cedric86 😂 IT’S OVER 100

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-26T22:53:43Z

@nikolavuk Yeah I was rushed for time at the end (saved too much for the last day oops) and didn’t get to making the UI look good. Thanks for the feedback!

Hamsters in a Mech by Jake Crabtree 2020-10-06T01:02:35Z

I love the mini hamsters in yours! The art reminds me of duck life and I love that game. I really liked the gameplay as well it had a lot of different aspects to it and I liked the idea of a bunch of hamsters teaming up in a mech. It was hard to shoot effectively but it fitted with the loops theme. Also, if you use webgl, you don’t have to select a fullscreen button on itch.io, it already has one.

unfriendly AI by Ekoxe 2020-10-06T01:08:49Z

It’s cool to see an educational game because there aren’t too many of those. Although, unless you just guess, you do have to know the best ways to defeat the bosses. I like the music and the graphics reminded me of stickman games. Great job!

Tuxedo, watch out for the rock! by Gumemura 2020-10-06T01:11:20Z

If you port it to WebGL with unity, I would love to play it! Looks cool!

Tuxedo, watch out for the rock! by Gumemura 2020-10-06T03:37:46Z

@gumemura Nice job man ! This is a fantastic entry for your first game and it was really fun! For next time, I would try and make something more related to the theme, as this doesn’t seem to be like ‘stuck in a loop’ (except for repeating after you die which most games do already). I love the Tuxedo guy’s expressions also! :D

Stranded by Robonaut121 2020-10-20T15:11:56Z

Hey this game looks really cool and I just came from the blog post about the play / rate exchange so if you get it working on web again (mac user) lmk!

LoopBots by Empty Set 2020-10-06T03:44:58Z

I’m intrigued, if you can add a mac or web port I’d be interested in playing

TIME TO DANCE! by Savvy Community 2020-10-18T22:33:06Z

This has got to be one of the most creative submissions I’ve seen. It’s got good music and a good mood, cute characters, and a mechanic of finding the human submission that is looping against AI is really cool. I don’t have any suggestions to improve it, it’s awesome.

Looped Chaos by KDgame 2020-10-06T20:22:01Z

Very nice addictive game ! It reminded me of Asgore's boss battle from Undertale with the closing of the loops and not moving for the yellow ones. I like the mechanics and the music was a nice touch. Great job!

Office Dating Simulator 2020 by Brainloaf Studio 2020-10-24T03:19:39Z

Oh man this looks like a fun game, I’d play it if it was on Mac or WebGL but since we’re near the end of rating that might not be likely :/ I hope you get to 20 ratings !

Stranger dreams by Colmaphis Games 2020-10-06T04:32:08Z

This game is very creative and I love the point and click style gameplay. It reminds me of the old escape games on addicting games ! I’m glad you went with this idea

The Magic Hat by Shanzhai 2020-10-07T04:16:44Z

Very cool take on the theme! The puzzles are creative and fun to figure out and I love the pixel art!

Eloi's Adventure by Convg 2020-10-06T19:55:51Z

This is a really cool and creative game ! There’s another game I played that has this looping shadow mechanic but this is also completely different in how you can blow up the shadows. It adds a level of cool interactions that you can do. You can also just machine gun down enemies, which is pretty sick. Nice job!

Eloi's Adventure by Convg 2020-10-06T21:05:55Z

@esphoros Yeah that was it !

Froot Loops Delivery Job by InefficientChunkOfCode 2020-10-06T20:03:34Z

I had really fun playing this unique game with the creative idea of stacking fruit loops to use a ladder. The graphics are cute. The music is a bit loud and can get annoying, so I would offer a mute button somewhere. Great job!

Particle Accelerator by Koolruz 2020-10-06T01:34:12Z

This game was really fun! It was totally a rage inducing game, as you try and race through the same level over and over getting barely cut off each time. The momentum aspect is hard to get used to but that’s what adds to the challenge! It would be nice if you could add some music next time to enhance the mood

Untiled Runner Game by WatermelonAndMe 2020-10-06T20:26:50Z

This was a cute game, I loved the animation and pixel art of the main character, alongside the BOPPING music. Next time I would suggest making a game more around the theme though, as this doesn't really do anything with it except looping to replay it.

Domain of the Time Wizard by BookerBlueJay 2020-10-22T19:48:29Z

Really nice dungeon crawling game! I though that the melee range was pretty small, but you could say that just adds to the challenge. I enjoyed exploring all the rooms, finding the secret rooms, and fighting the wizard. Good graphics, solid music for a gam jam game, nice job!

Shadow of Archimedes by Eckkert 2020-10-05T23:14:52Z

This is a really cool idea ! I love the artstyle as well it looks amazing for a game jam game and the music with the art sets a nice atmosphere. Next time, I would include a tutorial or better instructions, because I died a few times trying to figure it out ;). Great job!

The Titan's grave by BadPiggy 2020-10-27T14:46:37Z

I really liked this mini boss fight ! It was a bit hard for me to dodge his attacks and shoot since you had to roll like 3 times to not get hit, but I really enjoyed the idea of the boss or the player getting stronger from landing attacks. Nice job ~

Rad Rodent Racing by katajin 2020-10-09T17:03:31Z

Hey I have similar concept to hamster racing in my game! I love the art and this was a really fun game. Nice job!

Hyper Hamster by Nazorus 2020-10-20T22:09:19Z

Great job ! I love the 3d hamster model doing flips over the ledges and trying to get it to go “hyper velocity”. It feel a bit like Subway Surfer in a way and the music is awesome. Also, I made a 2d hamster game about going as fast as you can in a hamster wheel too 😂!

Clone Arena by GrizzliusMaximus 2020-10-07T03:37:38Z

I really love this game ! I've seen multiple other games with the looping players movements characters (which I still think a creative mechanic) but they were mostly to solve platformers. A game where every time I die, the previous version of me joins in the fight against the enemies ? That's awesome! It was quite difficult dying after a single hit, but it added to the fun because soon there were an army of player characters fighting 😂. Great job!

Hamster Survival Racing by Carson Bentley 2020-10-06T03:43:25Z

Haha yeah great minds think alike ! I like how yours is 3d and has the hamsters racing in a loop, it adds a lot more challenge to going around the loop. I’ve died so many times just trying to get around the loop lol! Great job man

Sisyphus Beetle Takes His Daughter to Work by pee-thief 2020-10-18T01:25:53Z

This was hilarious! I loved the screeching of tortured souls in the background and the artstyle of the game. I think there might be a bug in it though because I was able to buy a timeshare with only .5 souls and then finish the game ? Anyway, very great submission I loved it!

League of Ultranormal Detectives by Ghuyajil 2020-10-06T21:23:24Z

@ghuyajil you were right this game is really fun! It is very suspensful and has a nice mood, I’m very impressed with how much you were able to create for this game. Great job!

Danger Beat by rhoff95 2020-10-06T01:56:35Z

I really like the idea and the execution of it is great! The music is bumping and it’s a great take on a bullet-hell style game. It gets pretty tough to avoid all of them once the song gets going ! Nice job.

Dr. Needles and the Nightclub by funemaker 2020-10-07T03:39:54Z

Would love to see a mac or web port for this game!

The Myth of Sisyphus by Zuvr 2020-10-27T16:18:24Z

I like this idea a lot, it reminds me of a rage game where you finally get over the hill and then the boulder starts rolling down again and you have to go all the way down again to get it back. I also love the death sound and how it leaves your body wherever you died, I didn’t realize I could even die from throw my boulder on top of myself oops. I would suggest that next time you have a key for grabbing onto the boulder, because using both wasd (you could just make W jump as well), space, and the mouse was kinda awkward.

TowerStuck by Edeneden 2020-10-06T04:02:32Z

Nice twist on the Tower Defense genre! The music as well really helps set the mood and I enjoyed the pixel art graphics. The descriptions for the towers are the best part though 😂

The final loop by IndieQuest 2020-10-07T04:34:27Z

Very cool take on the tower defense genre! I died the first time by trying to kill the enemies with my main tower oops :p

InTheLoopOfRevenge by jdbuenol 2020-10-07T16:54:13Z

It’s taking a while for me to load it, so maybe you could optimize it more. I REALLY LIKED THE GAMEPLAY THOUGH! It was fun, had a lot of replay-ability, and a good level of difficulty. I like how it stuck with the theme of stuck in a loop without being repetitive, as there are different weapons and levels

LoopRunner by Zarki 2020-10-23T20:01:39Z

Not bad for a small little game. I like the graphics and the music is very nice. The gameplay is fun, however, the person will often get stuck trying to jump next to a ledge and the dash is kinda wonky. Nice job overall, but next time I would suggest try thinking of something that uses a theme in a unique way rather than a game that uses a normal game loop and so you are technically ‘stuck in a loop’.

Around the Cluck by Brutten 2020-10-07T00:54:12Z

This was really fun and I loved the music and especially the sounds effects, mmm nice and plumpy and BARK BARK ! I loved the pixel art chickens as well and the super fat chicken. It was a great puzzle, like an adventure game. Great work!

NeonLoop by aDaxxas 2020-10-05T23:21:19Z

Very cool feel to the game! I loved the art style and it was pretty fun! I also like how you added the mouse sensitivity option, that was useful for me. Nice Work!

Hudson by Dharby 2020-10-06T20:09:39Z

Very fun game ! I like the minimalism of the 1 bit graphics and the background music. The game gets pretty intense quickly, it goes from 1 monster to like a huge amount! Very addictive and fun to play!

Bjorn to Dance by Tomh 2020-10-06T03:50:00Z

This game is really goofy and I LOVE IT! A viking dancing, a pun in the title, and fun memory based gameplay? Sign me up! You could even take this further and make like a dance dance revolution version. The art was some of the best that I’ve seen, very polished and nice.

Return 0; by IkerNoya 2020-10-07T03:21:06Z

@fermingimpel Would love to see a mac or web version ! Also, while fixing game breaking bugs I think is okay, you’re not supposed to add new features after the submission deadline. (unless you mean for fun after the competition is over)

The Legend of the Stormer by josephdevelops 2020-10-07T04:19:08Z

I love the 80s style feel and music! I was also a huge fan of the Area 51 memes and this is right on.

Loopbot by ctpeepee 2020-10-06T01:14:21Z

The link worked fine for me but I can’t play it because only windows :/

@ctpeepee I’m on mac!

Character Madness by Karoukodil 2020-10-06T01:45:25Z

Would love to play if you port it to mac/web! Looks like a novel idea!

Orbital Loop by Pradhuman 2020-10-07T04:41:17Z

I would love to rate your game if you come out with a mac version!

Eat, Sleep, Repeat by Syafire 2020-10-07T03:48:36Z

This game is really cute and a unique take on the theme. I would love to play it if you port it to mac or webgl!

Press the Buttons by FluffyGameDev 2020-10-06T19:35:17Z

Very cool game! It had a total escape room feel while taking on a unique twist for the theme in making sure you get back in time to press the buttons. You didn’t opt out of the audio category but I didn’t hear any audio on the web version? It could use at least like a beeping sound effect to warn the player if the countdown is about to end, and could add to the suspense. Great job!

Press the Buttons by FluffyGameDev 2020-10-06T20:05:44Z

I was playing on Safari and the sound wasn't showing up. I just replayed and revoted the sound category for your game and I really liked it ! The voice acting was nice. Sorry about that !

Evo-loop-tion | Ludum Dare 47 by MrchickenBoy 2020-10-06T05:06:02Z

I like the subgames and the music sounds good to me, however there should be some tutorial about the mechanics of the game. I died 10 times trying to jump across to the lever until I realized you could click on it. Although, you are playing as an AI learning, so maybe the point is just trial and error. Great game submission for you and your brother!

Stealthy Suspect by Skiwee 2020-10-06T01:38:52Z

The game is still really fun to play without lightning! You just have to be more skilled about using dash to avoid their attacks! I also really like the music, it was creative and catchy. Edit: I’m guessing you didn’t make the music since no category but it added to my experience of playing the game anyway! :)

Stealthy Suspect by Skiwee 2020-10-06T01:39:48Z

Oh and having each level zoom out to reveal the next one was a very clever usage of the theme

Stealthy Suspect by Skiwee 2020-10-06T15:05:09Z

@tomodachi I played it in the browser because I have a Mac, but it was still quite enjoyable. Nice job man!

Stealthy Suspect by Skiwee 2020-10-06T18:05:44Z

@skiwee for mac there should be a .app or .dmg. All I see in the folders is files and the thing that looks like an application (the v2 file) just opens a text file. I don’t know how to fix it ?

Stealthy Suspect by Skiwee 2020-10-07T00:08:53Z

I tried that and it worked ! The lights do add a whole new level of strategy to the game, very impressed with what you have made :)

Stealthy Suspect by Skiwee 2020-10-07T02:21:19Z

@skiwee yeah I did!

Kill Me Plenty by Blood_Jackal23 2020-10-06T19:56:37Z

Audio 10/10, Humor is on point and I love games with multiple endings. Very great submission !

Keep moving and nobody burns by Vleue 2020-10-06T01:49:18Z

Would love to see some music and sound effects next time, opengameart is a great source and you don’t have to participate in the sound category but it’ll add to the overall experience of playing the game. Nice job for your first submission though, you did it!

Stuck in the Loop Dungeon by Nyubi 2020-10-06T01:44:34Z

I want to play but the link doesn’t work!

Stuck in the Loop Dungeon by Nyubi 2020-10-06T07:23:19Z

I really like the intro and the art for this game. However, it could really use at least sound effects and music would be a good addition too. Also, there’s no way to tell if you got hit or not and how many lives you have, so that’s something to keep in mind for the future is making sure you don’t slack on the UI or explicity telling the player actions that are occurring. Overall, very cool and nice job !

Outside The Loop by Peace Of Cake Games 2020-10-21T03:58:39Z

Very cool game ! I like the entirely handwritten and hand drawn artstyle and the intro of being stuck in a loop was cool. For the gameplay, I thought it was a really cool mechanic that you could create a loop to hop on and you could stay entirely in the air if you timed it well. Nice job !

Resurrection by etrealjunior 2020-10-08T05:38:13Z

I really enjoyed this game as it changed several times into something new! It was creative and the black and white artstyle was unique ! Great job!

Repeater by Mingle Chen 2020-10-25T04:57:30Z

Nice job! It’s pretty fun, I liked the music building up but then it just stopped suddenly but the sound efx still played? The looping mechanic is interesting, sending you back to the spawn point if you don’t reach the next one in time

Disco Loop by DotSquare 2020-10-06T15:55:23Z

Nice game! I love the idea of moving to the beat, it reminds me of Crypt of the Necrodancer. The disco guys animation as he dances is hilarious, and the game is pretty difficult like one of those rage games where you get so close to the end and then hit by a trap or run out of time. Definitely died quite a few times. Great job man! Next time, I wouldn’t put off the music to the end if you are making a rhythmic game, but it works well with just the beat.

Silly Platypus by kotovnav 2020-10-06T01:42:34Z

This looks like a very funny game, would love to see it ported so I can vote on it!

Silly Platypus by kotovnav 2020-10-07T04:40:35Z

@kotovnav I love this mechanic and artstyle! Sometimes the player can get caught on the edges of platforms, so you might want to try to make the sides frictionless. Great job!

Time Saver by Daniikk1012 2020-10-06T19:40:53Z

This is a really cool idea and I love the visuals ! Nice job !

Space Drummer by Guilloteam 2020-10-06T07:24:38Z

I would love to play this game if you port it to mac / web!

Abducted by FlashCash0402 2020-10-07T03:53:31Z

This is a really creepy suspenseful game ! I like the music you used to help set the mood as well as the creepiness of the stuff repeated on the walls. The text to speech was pretty funny (You won't die yet HAHAHAHAAHA). Nice job for your first game !

Airstralian by ThunderSalt 2020-10-07T04:04:34Z

I saw this from the blog post, it looks really cool and I'd love to give it a shot if you port to mac!

Looped by Leo Red 2020-10-07T03:26:20Z

Very nice game! Would love to see WASD support, and I love how it's simple but addicting

Help! I Set Off a Bomb! by maxmitchell 2020-10-06T04:39:07Z

This game was really quite fun! The music was intense and I really felt like I was defusing a bomb where one mistake could cost me all my progress. One suggestion I have is when the stack piled up too much the top command would leave the screen and you could no longer see it, so that’s just a small bug if you let it pile up too much. Overall great game!

ok by TradingBooch12 2020-10-07T03:47:14Z

Unfortunately I can't run the jar file on Mac but I'd be interested if you get this fixed!

iLoop - the 2D endless runner game of a robot stuck in a loop :) by melvinng 2020-10-06T16:07:28Z

Very fun and addictive game ! It’s like a much cooler version of the chrome dinosaur game and I like how each run builds off of the previous ones. The pixel art is amazing especially the city background. Great job !

Brace for Impact by worblir 2020-10-06T04:58:54Z

I love the retro look and the chiptune music to go along with it. It’s also pretty difficult and the loops are cool. Nice job!

Potatojoe: Stuck in Time by MadHarlekin 2020-10-06T15:56:59Z
