LD44 — Your life is currency

Lunch Lord by madjackmcmad 2019-05-02T15:28:09Z

With vsync forced off, the game freakeddd out and I couldn't move right or up, and moving left or down was instant. So maybe there is some missing delta time checks or something?

With vsync back onnn, it was a lot of fun :) I like the chaos and destruction going on, and the nice change in pace between caving and raiding was really cool. I found the movement to be a little too quick and jumpy for my tastes. And although the purpose I think was to acquire an army to do more combat for you, whacking enemies with the spatula was kinda frustrating/unsatisfying.

This concept is super cool and I can't stress enough how much I loved the switch between caving/raiding, super dope. In addition to fun, I also gave this a high mood score because it just has a lot of character to it and that makes it really pleasant to play.

Bloody Penny by tiffi 2019-05-01T22:11:42Z

This was a cool game mechanic, more importantly though I thought the level designs were quite clever. Having interesting layouts and hazards kept me playing longer that I would have if it was just rooms full of more and more enemies.

Mint Sprint by kaiclavier 2019-05-02T02:13:18Z

Very cute graphics, fun and challenging to play. As ryusui said, the difficulty spike is really strange in the beginning, and then the puzzles go back to being not too hard.

Black Market by bbaf 2019-04-30T23:29:28Z

you should try to lower the download size, maybe audio compression? - 90 megabytes is going to turn a lot of people away

Insect Slaughter by Tryus30 2019-05-02T02:28:40Z

The characters are beautiful, kudos if you did them yourself. The gameplay is simple and I did like the upgrade system, with choosing between healing and raising your max HP. I think with a few more special effects to make the combat more satisfying, and maybe offering the player a victory (I played through many waves, is it just endless?) it would be really solid. Good work for only 24 hours though.

Bloodletter by shp 2019-05-02T03:20:00Z

I found the huge shotgun spread took some of the punch out of the shooting, which was otherwise really good. I liked the visuals and mechanics, and all in a compo game. Impressive!

Abscond by Hans1203 2019-05-01T23:12:13Z

Ok this game is pretty darn adorable. It took me a second play-through to understand exactly what the mechanics were but once I did I enjoyed it a lot. The sounds are satisfying and cute. I think the buy-sell mechanic but at high speed is reallyyy cool, and if you added a little higher variance to the cost and selling price of apples, that could be a fast paced trading mechanic that is really satisfying.

Bloody Escape by Mananka 2019-05-02T02:44:01Z

Gotta say, this game is pretty creepy, I think you did well capturing a certain vibe here. I managed to get through some of the trickier platforming segments, but I would say the jumping and whatnot here is not very fun. it is frustrating to feel like you are missing jumps and falling because your character's head keeps bumping into everything and you don't quite fit anywhere.

I felt like there was a lot to explore and discover, and I wanted to play more, but having to backtrack through such large environments was tedious. So overall, I'd say if the platforming was smoother and cleaner, and the world was condensed a little into more interesting areas, this would be really creepy, and really good, instead of just really creepy, and kind of good :) But I enjoyed the scary, surreal vibes, and the strange interactions with characters after your blood. For a first game, and a game jam game, this is very promising. You should definitely stick with making games and keep working on it.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

RingCastle by tomcooper 2020-10-06T23:32:26Z

Gives me some spooky lothric castle vibes, I dig it. Could use some more content but I'm sure you know that, good job for such a short time

Telefun by Don Fouts 2020-10-07T03:17:24Z

Like others have said the controls are kinda crazy, i mean partially that was your goal I think for the physics goofiness but its really easy to lose stuff off the table. Great clean visuals though, everything besdes some of the physics controls feels really polished.

Neverending partyween by imod 2020-10-06T11:46:36Z

This game is super cute, love the characters. I'm not sure exactly how far I got, they said go to the supermarket but I couldn't go in the shop, not sure.

Stuck on Loop by Britt Henderson 2020-10-06T22:51:12Z

FIX FOR DATA FOLDER PROBLEM : I had to rename the exe myself, your exe is called StuckOnLoop.exe and it needs to be renamed to LDJam47.exe

bahaha this game is great, I loved it. Great sound and graphics

A Monster Hunter Story by Aljon 2020-10-06T23:09:59Z

haha this is great. still getting a crash at the reaper screen for some reason. Really good stuff though, gave me a hearty laugh.

Into the Iron Mist by Griddolini 2020-10-07T18:43:54Z

@trexxak yes the frame drops even occur on my high end pc and i couldnt fix them in time - its actually a physics issue not a graphics issue, with how i move the enemy mechs. I cant fix it for this jam obviously but im hoping to update the game soon to get rid of those nasty drops. Thanks for the feedback!

Into the Iron Mist by Griddolini 2020-10-07T19:32:14Z

@betovf its all about strafing! And keep your distance if possible!

Into the Iron Mist by Griddolini 2020-10-08T16:20:53Z

@lombax were you collecting higher level parts? If you have at least 2 level 3 parts you can make it to the end relatively comfortably. Thanks for kind words!

Into the Iron Mist by Griddolini 2020-10-08T20:21:03Z

@lombax getting to the end with level 1 parts is pretty solid! lol I haven't been able to do that. Yeah all parts get more armor per level, and the poison rate is directly related to your armor level.

Time Forest by Denzil Gomes 2020-10-06T22:34:30Z

The movement and everything is nice and polished, great to see :) I did find rewinding to the beginning a tad frustrating once it became 20 seconds long and such - I think more levels that are shorter little puzzles would have been really good to minimize time spent redoing things, but i mean it was only 20 seconds so a minor complaint.

The Lost Frog by Lombax 2020-10-06T22:57:01Z

Well I won't repeat what others have already said, I had the same thought as the first comment. I will say the frog sprite is great, the jump animation is smoooooth and very expressive. With some tightened up controls I could see a lot of unique ideas for this cool loop / platformer gameplay.

Turtle VS Trash Vortex by deviantdear 2020-10-06T22:23:14Z

This game is really cute, I like the clean and colorful visuals. I think the slowness of the turtle to visually align with the line you are in made the controls feel a little meh, I think for a game of quick reactions, some more speed would have felt better. The main menu screen is really cool looking! Overall great work

Frozen Potency by Eugenik 2020-10-07T02:22:57Z

the controls are a bit wonky and only being able to run forward is an odd decision. It did bug out on me at some point and I was unable to throw boxes. The visuals and atmosphere were really cool, I loved the vibe. The dudes cape got caught on his head and he looked like he was dressing up as a ghost lolol

Beanstronauts by The Missing Bracket 2020-10-06T23:23:58Z

Game is quite big for what it is, not sure what could cause that kind of size. You use a wav for the music maybe? Other than that it was pretty neat, I like the spooky ambience and the death animations. I did feel kinda tricky spying on them through the walls lol

The Facility by Feiko 2020-10-06T02:01:54Z

The visuals are great, very clean. Had kind of a spooky atmosphere. I couldn't get past the part where a bunch of rapid fire enemies spawn around you. Wish I could've made it to the cool looking boss!

Loopin Defendin by Dysyndo 2020-10-06T12:00:24Z

This game was simple and clean, I like your take on the theme! I don't know if more enemies appear than asteroids but that's all I got, could've been cool for some extra variety. It was a good decision that your bullets hurt the planet, otherwise the loop wouldn't have been as important to pay attention to.

Blob Blob Arena by AnotherMaverick 2020-10-07T03:26:35Z

Lots of pretty decent physics in such a short time, solid. Not much for the theme but a neat little versus game.

LD54 — Limited Space

MemGuard Tower Defence by Zaphire 2023-10-09T15:25:49Z

I love the feel and the idea. Not to beat a dead horse, but just going to agree with the confusing death spiral sentiment. It really makes the game feel bugged or broken on the first try or two, as your turrets aren't responsive immediately to the power changes. I think this could work as a full game though, if that was fixed and then everything expanded on.

No Gloop, No Glory by Prakkus 2023-10-13T22:52:45Z

This was a solid little game, I died immediately twice figuring out what to do but then it was smooth sailing and I won a hard fought battle :) i like the little combo with the split + pull, fun to pull off

Ball size matters by Devez 2023-10-04T21:17:30Z

I don't mind the difficulty too much but the stages making you repeat the whole thing again is a little demanding of patience for a jam game. The mechanic is great though, I had fun with it :)

StreamLord by RAFFE 2023-10-09T15:18:56Z

This got me to laugh several times, I love how the chat reacts to stuff pretty believably and it just overall has a fun vibe. goofy and unique, awesome

Comfort by Anper 2023-10-05T18:41:27Z

For a ludum dare game, this is really well polished, nice work with the tutorial. I gave you a pretty high audio rating, I thought the music and effects when out of the comfort zone were really cool.

For the mechanic itself, its unique and interesting, but in its current state it basically just makes platforming more tedious, since you try to push your comfort zone where you want it. However, I think if you had time to flesh it out, it could be cool - like certain things can only be done outside of the zone, and maybe some enemies are only dangerous when in the zone or something. The high speed when out of the comfort zone was cool, add to that!

Good work and congrats!

Gulvis Journey by J0ye 2023-10-05T11:09:36Z

the sounds are weird and fun i really like the style of this game! its like a brotato lite with a limited movement mechanic. nice work

Shark Barrage 2: Farming to Freedom Edition by borjan1peovski 2023-10-04T21:02:32Z

Got a chuckle out of me the first time a shark flew out of the water and ate a crop. The clicking to remove them just feels really rough though to be honest, did suck the fun out of it a bit. I think if they moved a little faster but one click got rid of them, would have helped a lot. Great job learning a new engine though, its not easy

Dig That Hole! by DriagonV 2023-10-04T21:34:23Z

This is a creative game, and I like the idea. The enemy's spawning directly on you is pretty rough though, really kills motivation to finish when enemies spawn inside you and hurt you with no time to react. I think with just some fixes for the enemies this game would be a lot of fun

Shop Goblins by Griddolini 2023-10-10T00:46:29Z

yep, the resupply is totally random and so are the customer's requests, except it doesn't ask for anything that hasn't spawned at least once. it would be pretty trivial to add, but I didn't think of it! whoops!

Mecha Walker by Le Don 2023-10-09T20:12:00Z

This is super cool. Maybe I'm a little biased as a mech fan though, haha. I feel like just the color choices alone and interface are pretty slick, given such a short time. This is definitely the type of game that benefits from having an expanded list of events and things to do/have happen - but I really like what you have started here.

ROLLiE and the Desert Drive by civmaniac 2023-10-09T19:32:23Z

excellent mechanics, nice work! the second fight was brutal though, i will come back to play more but just shredding my newly acquired programs before i even have protection! :'(

Clear the space by Bobafett89 2023-10-06T14:38:35Z

I like some of the ideas but I feel like needing to toggle between modes to do basic things just makes the game tedious without really adding anything to decisions I need to make. Like the first 2 modes could just be the same thing at least, and the only reason Id go in a recycle or energy room is to use them so... why not just work automatically? The concept of building outward and strategizing which rooms to make is good, just the mode switching makes it not very fun. But congrats on your hard work and hope you learned a lot :)

What A Time To Be Alive by Pyshnyy 2023-10-06T14:45:28Z

lol the sound. I like the mechanic, simple and pretty fun.

Whammer by Guillaume Clerc 2023-10-09T20:03:28Z

love the idea and the mood, the death screen is a nice touch. the instakill walls are pretty brutal though, and the doorway getting thinner - although maybe feels tense - is just asking to frustrate people, since you can be too thick to fit through and youre essentially already dead. but you can see the effort and it was good fun.

Highly Specialized Troops by Erivas_Soulares 2023-10-12T00:26:13Z

I like the idea, and the vibe is cutesy and fun. I think I would make the controls a little snappier, maybe speed things up a bit. With some more depth added I could see it being a really fun game!

King of the Gloaming Castle by WigHz 2023-10-06T15:05:16Z

wonderful game across the board. only complaints were that i kinda wish things got bumped a little harder in general, sometimes just felt funny directly butting heads with another over and over. And the screen turned red at some point and never went away, I assume it was a bug but if intentional then I don't know what it meant :)

Z-Swarm by TurboTartine 2023-10-09T15:14:38Z

This is a fun simple shooter. The day/night cycle is cool, i didnt see any bugs i don't think. I think the only big negative is that this game feels like the opposite of limited space, its big! haha

Spooky Escape by BigAl 2023-10-09T19:16:52Z

Well done overall, polished and simple. Love the halloween entries.

Cosmic Caster by Whysper 2023-10-09T15:00:36Z

Very clever, implementation is pretty iffy sometimes - A i feel like is not a great choice for something you need to draw with a contiguous line! But I think with some extra thought and refinement this would be really neat.

Dino Extinction by Ryn 2023-10-06T14:49:26Z

I agree with another comment - if the holes disappeared eventually, the game would last a lot longer but still would get harder as the meteors went faster. As of now it feels like an inevitable death in a fairly short time, so not much room to get better. Its super cute though and I like the style and ideas.

Luggagetris by Sooly 2023-10-05T18:53:55Z

Clever and cute, was having some trouble putting items down though, without it grabbing items underneath. Very polished!
