LD47 — Stuck in a loop

May I have some time loops? by someoneman 2020-10-27T13:46:55Z

I really liked the game, the level design and execution is super neat, and the song is great!

Nice submission!

Cascade by Joe Cowman 2020-10-18T14:27:36Z

I really like the core gameplay loop and I think the idea fits the theme well. The whole thing is nicely and smoothly implemented. All that's missing in my opinion is some juice in order to make the surrounding experience more engaging, music would've been a great start!

Space Force: Orbital Ordeal by Matthew McClure 2020-10-18T14:53:21Z

Super duper cute! I really enjoyed playing this and I love the Idea and execution.

The gameplay was nice and action-y and I really enjoyed trying to time my shots precisely to both get to where I need and also take down the asteroids.

I think leaning in to the combo idea and having lots of asteroids that move slowly, as well as less oomph and a shorter cool down between shots would've made it all the more jucier!

Also just wanted to mention a little bug that after losing my shot cooldown was stuck on empty 😅

EmojAvoid by kevinworkman 2020-10-27T12:09:59Z

The concept is super sweet and the Emoji gimmick is cute. the whole game is perfectly well executed, honestly I even take it as inspiration for "Do the minimum required to make it a GOOD GAME", that's what this is! Fun, short, interesting, challenging, great!

Action Loop by iszlonn 2020-10-27T14:40:26Z

This was brilliant! Short, sweet, lots of charm, and innovative theme-base mechanics! Loved it a lot, I wish there was more

Epoch by Fictions 2020-10-27T12:30:34Z

Had a lot of fun with this! At first I was put off by the "Ten levels in order to understand the story", but five levels later I found myself really enjoying the challenge and wanting to finish properly. Following that, I don't know if I'm amused or disappointed with the ending

Besides the jump feeling a bit off to me and the points other have mentioned regarding the difficulty and needing to reset every time, I think this is a really cool premise, great executions, and it fits the theme very well!

Loop de Loop by Klaus Peter 2020-10-27T14:36:04Z

Liked it a lot! The looping between rooms was really well executed. As opposed to what others have said, I really didn't mind the graphics, though I think some basic sound could've done wonders!

DIMENSION LOOP by Danial Jumagaliyev 2020-10-27T16:19:22Z

I really liked the premise of the actual game slowly building up in such a story driven and rhetorical manner, the mechanics were smooth and functional, and the aesthetic really fit together.

Great game!

FarmerDude by DavideMoriello 2020-10-18T15:06:23Z

Very nice premise for a mobile game, I'm happy that you took Ludum Dare as an opportunity to work on your game, its fun!

That being said, it's clear that this game doesn't have much to do with the theme 😅

BagJam by Ryan Paton 2020-10-27T14:13:41Z

Super neat premise! personally had some trouble with seeing the signs on the luggage itself due to playing on a small screen, but the music and gameplay pretty much made up for it!

Super Looper by Unfocused Locust Games 2020-10-27T13:55:24Z

Didn't expect that mechanic at all, very nice! The art obviously needs some work (though the stretchyness of the character and the puffs of dust were nice touches!) and I thought the level design had a lot more potential with more gimmicks like the directional tiles (which I really like!)

Nice submission! Good job!

Trials of the Twisted Timber Land by Enad96 2020-10-27T15:37:58Z

Really liked the art and the music was super pleasant, though I had some trouble figuring out what to do next at some points.

INSIDE THE LOOP by aerloth 2020-10-18T14:42:46Z

Great premise and perfect interpretation for the theme, I loved it! I was really impressed with the level design, and even more so with the fact that some levels featured different mechanics the subverted expectations. Greatly enjoyed it, even during the parts where I got stuck 😅

Express Without Remorse by alpacalypse 2020-10-27T12:42:05Z

I really like the fact that as you progress the game gets easier thanks to the upgrades, and I felt the whole art and sound design really build the mood :)

I wish the station screens had some more movement to indicate interactability, though I found the texts at the pub to be fun and interesting.

Nice submission!

Loopoban by Joel Fox 2020-10-27T12:52:23Z

Super cute, Loved it! Fits well with the theme, the art and sound were ON POINT, and the level design and overall fun was super nice!

Great submission!

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Into the Spike Pit by FudgeMcGroobs 2021-05-13T20:13:28Z

The art was pleasant and the game was well build. Good entry and good luck!

Lone Signal by pyrofoux 2021-05-18T12:02:14Z

Loved it! I really love narrative journeys like the one you've made here, and the subject matter was touching and interesting, very inspirational!

As you've mentioned, having any sort of branching would've made the experience a lot more "gamey". But personally I was mostly expecting to see how other people concluded the probe's journey.

The little music sections did wonders for the mood, and the writing was great!

Good job!

Anatomically Correct Human by Evan 2021-05-17T11:40:34Z

Best anatomically accurate tower defense game out there!

I liked the core mechanic though it wasn't exactly new, it was fun to try and figure it out and after a few retries I finally got it!

I wish the challenge curve would've been a bit more uniform though, as I felt that as soon as I got the hang of it I didn't really need to build any more brains or lungs and could just sprint to the toilet.

Nonetheless, solid entry, good luck!

Deep Sausage Madness by Ommadawn 2021-05-05T15:25:24Z

Very, umm... Unique.

I honestly didn't expect anything even slightly dark, but when the music started distorting I knew I was in for a trip.

The controls worked well, even though the ABXY setup isn't as comfortable on a keyboard.

The music was nice an atmospheric, and the art is impressive for the time period.

And lest we forget! I actually had fun playing and felt challenged! Great job!

hello doctor i am in pain by elZach 2021-05-13T21:46:53Z

Loved it! Great idea and very well executed. As an avid Minesweeper myself I tried to avoid using the extra tools, and was impressed to notice that there were cases where I had to use them in order to succeed.

All you need is a slight outline for the text and this'll be a 10/10

Digzilla by Bernhard 2021-05-13T20:50:11Z

I found the idea of being unable to dig down very innovative and it added a lot of challenge and intrigue to the game.

The music was cute and did a good job not driving me crazy, and the sounds were nice.

The elevator controls were a bit finicky at times, but overall controlling the character was pretty comfortable and intuitive.

Great entry!

Dig Dig Dig by Chirichirichiri 2021-05-17T12:51:30Z

Loved it! the gameplay was great, the music was super nice, and for once I liked the fact that there was no player-character, rather conceptual "reach".

I progress kept me going and I like out with time surveying became more expensive, though I wish there were more generated structures and TNT and overall more gold because there were time where I had 20+ blocks with nothing.

Great submission!

OceanMen by Talia 2021-05-17T12:22:32Z

Now THIS is the type of game that gets good points on Mood (and as such, also audio!).

I loved the relaxing ambience and the mechanic was simple and enjoyable.

I could think of a few improvements (Like having the flashlight flip directions, and maybe even a deeper "have to scan with flashlight" mechanic), but all in all this was fun and comforting for one person in 48 hours.

Great job!

Blue Eye - Salvage & Rescue by PurpledArtFrog 2021-05-05T14:58:14Z

Very cute! I found it very innovative that while I am going down and a do have a few collisions I need to avoid coming from the bottom (which I always struggled with, btw, it was hard to catch the packs but not smash in to the platform, the slow down didn't really help me), most of the collisions I need to worry about came from upwards!

The controls were ok and the side-step dash was useful and well implemented.

The music fit well and the art was complementary.

Great job!

Tower of Darkness by Benjamin123 2021-05-13T20:41:42Z

Reminded me a lot of Rogue Legacy in artstyle and mechanics. As others have said, the controls were quite awkward and the attack had a weird delay. otherwise a cute little entry. good luck!

Wisdom of the Ancients by Frank Gevaerts 2021-05-17T11:57:42Z

Loved it! Love text adventures, love the humor, love the ancients!

This was quick and easy and great fun, even gave me some inspiration for my D&D campaign.

Great job!

Blast Miner by TopperVideoGames 2021-05-17T12:25:10Z

A masterpiece of Tetris and Bejeweled combined with some bugs.

Good job!

Necro Digger by gnaro 2021-05-17T10:50:42Z

I liked the fact that I had to put in some thought in order to plan well where I should focus my fire given where my minions were going. There were cases where it was right for me to help them progress, but other times where it was best to focus on a different direction and collect the coins once the minions progress enough.

I also feel that the mana reload time and use of bullets vs raising was really well balanced.

The coins were super satisfying and the game was intuitive and somewhat complete.

Great job!

Duskwood by Voidsay 2021-05-17T10:38:10Z

Loved the graphics and core mechanic, threw me into the mood real quick.

Felt the use of the axe wasn't well implemented, but the texts and spooky level design played out amazingly!

Good luck!

The bomble mines by pune007 2021-05-18T11:35:39Z

I loved the art style and animations, super cute!

Swoop - Save the Princess from falling rubble! by Zuvr 2021-05-17T13:00:25Z

@fraukauz Thanks for the review! The windows download version should work now

Puzzle Tower by Phanty 2021-05-05T15:15:50Z

Many of the puzzles were really neat and well built, I like the pickup vs pull mechanic, and the simplistic art style was super ethestic in my opinion, especially the cool glowing effect once I picked up the blocks.

Unfortunately I got stuck at some point because I died after taking the block to somewhere I couldn't reach. and I didn't feel any sort of camera movement mechanic, which kinda lost the whole theme to me, but great work nonetheless!

The Fall of Squidy by ealhche 2021-05-17T12:06:38Z

It took me a moment to figure out that I can slow down time mid air and plan my next jump.

Nice and fun, though starting over every time sucked and prevented me from making any meaningful progress.

Good job!

Solar Winds by bkelly 2021-05-17T11:04:35Z

Super cool! Loved the fact that I needed to plan my moves very accurately, and finding out that I can queue repeating commands in order to move a particular number of tiles was super useful!

Very very impressive! Good job!

Miner Creeper by lokt02 2021-05-05T15:34:36Z

It's creepy Terraria!

I like the concept and the digging mechanic with the different materials worked nicely.

Hope you had fun making it :)

Good job!

Through The Looking Glass by soldans85 2021-05-05T15:51:35Z

I really liked the implementation of this idea, the game was actually FUN and ENGAGING, I had to play through a few rounds and I had a few moments where I just nearly lost but didn't

Though I have to say the connection to the theme seems somewhat arbitrary and the graphics obviously weren't your priority when making the game, all that being said you did a good job and this is a nice entry!

WINCH by Gorialis 2021-05-13T22:09:50Z

This was great! Enjoyed every second of it!

The music created an excellent vibe, and the puzzles were neat and progressed nicely, and the controls were comfortable and intuitive enough.

The theme, while taken literally, was slightly underdone in my opinion, I was fully expecting to be able to go deeper into the screen as a mechanic (the "WASD" controls icon might have mislead me).

Other than that, super good entry, loved it

Fall Damage Isn't Fun by JakubBala 2021-05-17T12:14:59Z

I really liked it! First time I see a unique concept based off of fall damage as a mechanic, everyone hates fall damage!

The controls could be a bit smoother, since the player acceleration and top speed were pretty crazy and the boxed acted as though they're made of styrofoam.

Besides that, great entry!

Dreamania by Gomega 2021-05-17T12:49:07Z

A beautiful and fun game with great play through and random events. W key didn't work in web version.

Good job!

Into Conflict by C4Scar 2021-05-17T11:21:17Z

I liked the fact that I had to find the balance between my population growing too much and sending too many people to fight and losing reputation, I kept finding myself balancing my reputation exactly on the edge of legitimate

Also it was fun that once I gained too much power and the enemies started attacking then I could easily rush and crush them.

In general I felt this game has a lot of hidden depth behind it (heh, theme), and it reminded me fondly of all my CIV and RISK days.

Great job!

Drawn Under by JChurro 2021-05-13T19:29:55Z

The art is impressive for a programmer in 48 hours!

the controls were a bit finicky, but I personally enjoyed the challenge and managed to get the key!

Good luck!
