The art in this game is really great! The mechanic was fun as well. Took me just a second to realize that the shovel will bounce around and I should be aiming to hit multiple enemies. Once I realized that I found myself hitting the retry button as soon as I died. Fun!

The art is super cute, but the missing sound is really hurting it. Definitely feels like a mobile game. Not sure what this has to do with "stuck in a loop".

Very nice premise for a mobile game, I'm happy that you took Ludum Dare as an opportunity to work on your game, its fun!

That being said, it's clear that this game doesn't have much to do with the theme ๐Ÿ˜…

Really cool game and nice graphics! About it not having much to do with the theme, i guess the goal is to get the things stuck up there and clear the slimes. But all in all good job!

I like the title, art looks clean. And itโ€™s interesting to see a mobile game around here. Keep it up!

Looks very good & polished already, I like the art style very much! The gameplay is simple (= quick to pick up) & fun, in my view this will be a great mobile game. Had one round where the shovels wouldn't return quickly, so a nice addition might be something where the player can destroy stranded shovels. Good luck with the further development!

i was wondering what this has to do with the "stuck in a loop" theme, until i manged to throw a showel such that it was stuck in a infinite loop going left and right and never moving out of the screen again :o

I must admit 2 things: 1. This game is absolutely amazing and filled with tons of features (for a mobile game, less for pc) 2. As a gamedev, I must say that I'm having hard time to believe this game was completely made during the jam.. feels like it was made before (got a little to do with the theme as well)

Anyway - good job!!

Glad you were able to get a jump-start on this project! It's in kind of a weird state, because it looks like a partially developed full-blown commercial mobile game, but the mechanics are fun! I could see people spending a lot of time playing this.

@bmanstudio Hi and thank you for your comment :D

As you see from the vote system of the game I have taken out Graphics because as you have imagine the art was not done during this LD  But many years ago!

All the code was done in the 72h in unity from scrath

Nice game!

thebooksnail 2020-10-27 16:10

I got stuck in a loop where the shovels bounced back in forth  After waiting 5 minutes they finally bounced off the screen. Pretty well made for the jam. I would have really liked audio.

Nice entry, I like the graphics and the idea of the game. It was quite hard for me and maybe a bit loose on the theme, but that's not so important. With good sounds it'll definitely be super fun to play!

A fun take on the Arkanoid formula! In terms of *gameplay*, I really like the idea of replacing the bricks with enemies with health, since it merges the genre into a kind of action game in quite a neat way. The moving enemies also bring a lot more variation to the scene, and I'd like to see what kinds of other fun variations on enemies that could be brought into the game! Though most of the enemies are still stationary, and I feel like the game definitely could benefit from more variation in that respect.

In its current state, admittedly, I find the game really difficult. It got to a point where I felt like the enemies had so much health that there would be no way for me to beat it no matter how hard I tried! But of course, this might just be because I'm not that good at these kinds of games. :p Making the difficulty curve more balanced might be a good idea in order to ease players like me into the game a bit more. But if difficulty is what you're aiming for, you've definitely hit the mark!

I do agree with the above commenters that the connection to the *theme* feels quite loose, but of course, it isn't a requirement. Overall, there's definitely promise in the concept here, but I'd like to see it developed further to make it more interesting. But still, well done!

@nikadra thank you for your feedback. Yes, the game is a bit difficult in current state. The idea is to add more heroes with more skills that do different damage :v:

There will be passive skills that every hero will have different and active skills that are the same for everyone but you need to unlock them. They will help you a lot in the game.

Also after X waves you will "win" and unlock a second stage :D
