Hey there I really like the game, for real! but i didn't managed to finish it... any hint for how to? Good job!!
There is a little bug with the High score window in the Main Menu, also a random bug when sometimes the player doesnt shoot.. I will fix it tommorow and update it.
update: Fixed it :) ENJOY!
Thanks all for commenting and trying out my game :) I challenge you all to beat that score (wave 8) ;) try to beat that.PNG
Thanks all for commenting! I am super happy to read all of your feedbacks, and of course i've taken notes for my future games. Also, i do agree with everything said (about the non-progressive experience and the feel of the game), and i do intend to make it much better next time (now that i understand MUCH better the whole thing, and the time managment required for a Jam). Again, thanks all :)
unfortunately i had no sounds at all :( Great game!!
Awesome game, great graphics and good mood. liked the simple idea! The physics are a bit buggy, i was able to fly sometimes when hitting hard on the other ducks, and its seems like if i'm gonna stay in place i will survive forever lol
I must admit 2 things: 1. This game is absolutely amazing and filled with tons of features (for a mobile game, less for pc) 2. As a gamedev, I must say that I'm having hard time to believe this game was completely made during the jam.. feels like it was made before (got a little to do with the theme as well)
Anyway - good job!!
Great entry!! I think you nailed it with making a really cool mini-game that is easy to understand and fun to play! I loved the transition between planets and the space!
Btw, we also did a space-delivery game, but with a completly differernt game concept haha you're more than welcome to try it out :)
Great job!
Really fun and cool game! loved the simple graphics and idea! I think adding some upgrades to buy with the money is a good feature to add, as currently the money isn't affecting anything (if I didn't miss anything). Great job! Just the game for perfectionists like me lol
Screenshot 2023-05-03 at 1.09.14.png
The WebGL build made my Chrome crash, I'm on Mac with Apple Silicon
@frnknstn Actually it didn't, but trust me - the Chrome won't recover from that state it reached haha Did you try it on Macbook? M1? if you did, and it takes more than 2 minutes to load - let me know and I'll try again :)
@frnknstn Yep, that's describes what I had, but for me it looked like it will never stop loading. I would call that a crash, but I guess it's not an actual "crash", as the app didn't closed by itself (or when I asked it nicely to, haha). No worries, It happend to me with other Godot games, I guess it hasn't to do with your game :)
Awesome game! I loved the idea! what a great entry, amazing job!
Awesome entry!! Loved the graphics, audio and nice physics mechanism. It took me a few runs to get the hang of it, but then it was pretty fun! We actually made quite a similar game to your haha called "Orbit Express", feel free to take a look and share your feedback!
I would add a pause menu with an option to restart, as I had to refresh the page on my first try :)
Nice simple game, I didn't know what to do when I got here: Screenshot 2023-05-03 at 0.47.19.png
Really cool and fun game! really got me in the mood, I think adding more twist to the game would be even better though!
A really cool and fun game! very impressing pixel art! However, although it took me some time to understand the game, I thought I was doing ok but each time I finished a delivert I just lost points lol so I'm not sure if it's me or a bug :) Great job!
Hi! so the webGL version won't load up for me, or at least I didn't realized how to make it start :( I'm using Macbook M1 laptop
Screenshot 2023-05-05 at 16.56.24.png
Awesome game around a brilliant twist to the theme! Great mechanics around physics! I couldn't fully understand what's decreasing my health, but I still enjoyed it and played a few times :) You should take a look at the game over state - seems like it keeps firing and when I tried to read the "how to" it threw me out back to the game over with the SFX every few seconds
Super cool game! loved the minimal mechanics which is getting more complicated with time! cute puzzle game that I can easily spend hours on! I would allow for resetting with the dialog included as well, for cases where the dialog is important for understanding the level. Awesome job!
Nice game, I liked the idea! There's seem to be a bug where the buildings interact points are on the same position so it's really hard to select the right building and not it's neighbor. However still fun and cute.
Nice and simple game, great entry! I didn't managed to collect all the items so IDK what happend when you bring all of them to the owl. The jumping mechanism was a little hard for me, especially the tree jumping part. Loved the simplicity and relaxing mood!
cute little game, simple yet fun. There is a bug where you double click the same card :)
Very cool game, I would add more kinds of buildings and abilities :)
I couldn't really understand what to do and how to do it. Also, the graphics VFX were a bit too much on me. Loved the idea and the art design concept, but a little less IMO :)
Fun, cute, intuitive and creative game! Reminds me of the old Cartoon Network games back in the early 2000s haha Great job, a really good entry!
Screenshot 2023-05-05 at 15.38.32.png
Haha sounds so much similar to our game "Orbit Express" lol Unfortunatley, I can't try out your game as I'm using Macbook :( Can you perhaps make a WebGL build and upload?
Very interesting game concept! However, after reading 5 or 6 messages I felt like I'm not sure where it's going, and if there's gonna be another aspect to the game. Amazing execution with the graphics, audio and mood!
Thank you so much to everyone who played, rated and commented our game! We're so grateful for your feedback, and glad to see many of you are enjoying it and having fun! <3
You gave us many great ideas for improvements (many were already on our roadmap haha) and we'll do our best to keep improving and uploading updates in the upcoming days and weeks.
I’ve just uploaded V1.1 with a few bug fixes and small changes to the game, here’s the change list for V1.1:
- Fixed score and packages delivered bug after “Try Again” - Made the game-over overlay more transparent ( @bezedh requested :D ) - Made the packages sound spatial (the volume depends on distance) - A bit more audio mixing tweakings - Fixed typo in credits (word Music) - Fixed the mistake in the controls panel (the imaged showed the X button on the gamepad, instead of A) - Disabled player controls after the game over - Delivery planets are now being picked randomly, for a non-consistent game each time :)
Thanks again for your support and feedback! Please keep sharing your thoughts with us
@steven-c Please contact me via DM, I would love to try and help! it seems like it's working for other people
@drazil100 Thank you so much for the comment! We would add your suggestions to the roadmap and hopefully get to it in the upcoming days, I'll post a comment once an update is out :)
@thunderchief Thank you so much! yea, it seems like it's even too hard for many people, would try to ease-it-up a bit tomorrow and upload a new version with hopefully a less steep learning curve :) Cheers
@nox282 Thank you so much for the kind words and the feedback! great idea with the zomming out, I would add that to the roadmap! Also, perhaps giving more "lookahead" with the camera for the player's velocity direction is a good idea too :) Thanks again!
@bashem Hey thanks for commenting and letting us know! Honestly, I'm not sure what to say as it's working for me both on my Windows and Mac (M1) machines, also it seems like many people was able to play it, I guess most did using the WebGL version. If you tried the Ludum Dare share (this page), you can also try the itch.io version here >> https://bmanstudio.itch.io/orbit-express-ld53
Hi everyone! Thank you so much for playing our game and sharing your feedback with us, it's really incredible to see how many people liked our game, we're grateful! So I've spent the day trying to improve the things that most of you have commented about, here's the changelog for V1.2 which I'll upload in the next few minutes:
- Added pause menu (press P / ESC on PC and Menu on gamepad) - Added options menu (music, sfx, mute, invert rotation) - Made the player turn faster ( @drazil100 @cody-holt ) - Made the HUD a little smaller ( @cody-holt ) - Added zooming in and out controls ( @the-neon-shark @nox282 @bezedh @retrific ) - Added particles to the gravity fields (just for fun) - Now the package drops from the back of the ship and increasing in size ( @rjdrag ) - Changed the buttons on Keyboard: Drop package with K instead of X (X will still work though) ( @fgkeiji @jordan-p20 @the-neon-shark @divi ) - Made the ship a little easier to control. Also, please see the tips I added to the description of the game above. ( @maskrosen @rjdrag @fgkeiji @the-neon-shark @artemy-zen @blank-3d @congeesetador @weirdbitgames @ramonvicious )
I would love to hear from you if it is any better now with those changes! Thanks again :)
@makerart Don't give up! We just uploaded a new, easier version of the game :) :)
@nox282 yay! So glad to hear that ☺️☺️
@jake-g Hi Jake! Did you tried the WebGL here on the LD page? I know there's a problem with the itch.io version currently, but I'm able to play as usual in here (the ludum dare page). I have no idea what's wrong on itch.io, I tried to re-build and upload a few times, and it's super weird as it works just fine on LD. Please let me know which one you tried 😇
**UPDATE** - Ok I found the issue and fixed it, it's working now on itch.io as well :) thanks!
I've just uploaded a new version with minor changes, here's the changelog for V1.2.5: - Fixed bug - pause menu on game over - Now the arrow pointer will scale according to the distance from the target (to help indicate speed and distance) - Fixed gravity force particles velocity direction - Other small fixes and tweaks
Please share your feedback with us so we know what other fixes and features we should work on! :)
@fragment-games Thanks a lot! Can you please share your resolution and a screenshot so I can better understand the scaling issue of the UI? Also, it seems like many players had difficult time adjusting to the controls and the physics of the game, but I can promise you that's nothing a few mintues of practicing can't solve ;) Here's my current highscore: :) :)
Screenshot 2023-05-04 161437.png
@blueanoli thank you so much!
@bart-diepvries haha yea it takes a few minutes to learn the mechanics, try to **fire the thrusters repeatedly after you rotate to the direction you want to move in** to have better control of the ship
@erlioniel Yep :) As mentioned in the credits too :) Would love to hear your thoughts on the game, though
@lcstark Wow! pretty amazing score there!! Would love to know if you used a keyboard or gamepad, and how long it took you :)
About your question, the success of the delivery is not dependent on your direction/velocity, but only on your position (which should be within the angled slice). However, I have as well encountered some cases where it felt like I'm in the drop zone, but the package didn't land.
But if I'm honest with myself haha, in all of those cases I flew too fast and "hoped" rather than made it "clean" - which worked 100% of the time for me. So I guess the conclusion I took from it is to not take chances with the drop zone, and just enter orbit slowly and with as much control as possible, and just wait for or follow the drop zone to make a nice, clean delivery, before continuing to the next planet :)
Regarding the difficulty, I'll tag you once we'll upload the upgrades update, probably in a few days, it should make it more interesting for your level ;)
@slimefriend Thank you so much for the kind words!
Regarding the red zone, there is a way to leave it (if you can stable inside without crashing), you can find a tip for it in the description of the game above, and if you still struggle - let me know and i'll post another tip for it :)
About the zoom - we're planning to upload an update with upgrades you can purchase, and possibly one of them will be a greater zoom out, but I can't say much about that, yet ;) I'll tag you once we upload the new improved version. Thanks again!
@stefan-funke Thank you so much for the kind words and the suggestions! I'm not sure I fully understand what you mean, though. There are (3 different) kinds of fuel pickups in the game, many of which are usually pretty close to the planets. Also, as long as you don't fire the thrusters or turn the ship, your fuel stays the same, so technically (and sometimes that's the right way to go) you can travel long distances without wasting any fuel, or at least finding a fuel pickup to restore your fuel.
Please let me know if I misunderstood you, I'd love to better understand what was your pain point here :) :)
Thanks again for playing and sharing your feddback!!
Deleted, wrong tag
@erlioniel thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it and your kind words!
I shared a tip on how to get out of the red zone in the description, if you'd like to try again, but it's possible 😉
Would love if you can direct me to the part in the rules that you think we broke. As I see it, we haven't used 3rd party assets, as no one else created or own those assets. They're ours, and also the rights for them are ours (as paid MJ users). I think it's not fundamentally different than any other creative tool. Maybe I'm wrong here, and I'd love to be corrected as we have no intention in cheating or anything, but the only thing I saw regarding the use of AI is that it's forbidden for the Compo, but allowed for the Jam until they'll figure out how to regulate it.
Did I missed something? 🙂
@raggedyjam @nazorus thank you so much guys for your awesome feedback! I'm glad you found the game fun and satisfying!! Regarding the speed indicator, we're working on it for the next version 😉 For the art, most of the sprites used are made with MJ and Photoshop, the background visuals are imported from a free package from the Unity asset store (link in credits in description) and the rest of the graphics (UI, menus, particles, gravity zones, etc.) are hand-made in Photoshop, Canva, and Unity (and obviously everything else in the game was made by @omrilahav and myself, each in his area). I hope that answers your question, and I would love to hear what you're concerned about 🙂
I’ve just uploaded a new version with some changes, here’s the changelog for V1.2.6:
- Added variations to package visuals - Added variations to planets' visuals - Enhanced the planets' gravitational effect on the player
Please share your feedback with us so we know what other fixes and features we should work on! :)
**Changelog for V1.2.8:**
- Added obstacles to the game (comets and moons) - Bug fixes - Added particles to the drop zone - Added VFX for low fuel level
Please share your feedback with us so we know what other fixes and features we should work on! :)
@projectcolorball Thank you so much for the feedback! I'm glad you liked it! New major updates coming very soon :)
@stingby12 About the main menu, well it's hard to support such resolution, but I'll do my best to best support when it's not full screen. Thanks for sharing your feedback, I appreciate it. Can you please elaborate on why you think "the satellites objects are stupid"? Also, I don't think hard means bad, I prefer challenging games at any day :)
@guitarbro Thank you so much for taking the time to play and share your feedback with us! I'm glad you liked the game :)
I would love to understand better the 0 score situation tho... Are you sure you delivered the packaged in the **drop zone** inside the green circle? If you did, that's very weird, and I would love it if you can share a screenshot or some inforamtion on what you did so I can try and reproduce that on my machine :) Thanks again!
Changelog for V1.2.9.1:
- Several bug fixes - New and improved SFX (including the Doppler effect) - 2 new nebula backgrounds - Lighting-based scene - Change score >> Orbs (for upcoming upgrades bay shop, stay tuned!) - Pirate (new AI obstacle that steals orbs) - Other visual and audio improvements
Please share your feedback with us so we know what other fixes and features we should work on! :)
unfortunately the WebGL won't run on my Mac :(
Pretty incredible what a complicated system people can build in 3 days! Amazing stuff! However, I couldn't really understand how to play, got pretty confused with all the tutorial (although I went back to it 3 times) and eventually managed to shoot a capsule into the void lol I would make a tutorial level with step-by-step guide on how to play, I think in such game it's essential. Great job, kudos to the programmer/s! Nice are style too! Also, why did you opt-out of the audio category? I like the BG music a lot!
Really smart idea and great execution! I love the minimalism of the game! Although I would make the UI bigger. Also, please add some keys to start and restart the level, pressing with the mouse is pretty exhusting for many times lol Great game!
Really fun and awesome game! I loved the gamepad controls, made it so much better! great job you guys
Very cool game concept for Delivery theme, and beatiful art style for such game concept. However, I was having a little bit of a hard time understanding what all the different elements of the HUD mean, and what is the difference between the sources on the bottom and on the top of the screen. Also, I died because of a weird bug which caused my player to stop shooting while the enemies did lol Really nice game overall!
Very nice game! had fun and reached almost 200 seconds before things started to pretty much repeat, but was still fun. I didn't understand the buttons instructions in the top bar, tried multiple times to press them but nothing happened. GL!
Awesome game! Loved the simplicity and the smart use of the plates positions to make it harder. I think at some level there should be multiple orders at once to make it more challenging (maybe it's the case and I didn't played long enough). Great entry!
Screenshot 2023-05-07 115149.png
I liked the pixel art and the audio, but I couldn't realize where to take the package to, and what my score and general goal in the game is.
Great entry! as a mars fan, I just loved how you created the martian environment and mood, really got me into it! Although I had much fun driving on the martian landscape with the relaxing music and mood, I couldn't find any packages and I wished the vehicle was a little faster (or with boost button or something) so I can actually research the place and find packages. But after a few minutes of driving slowly without finding any, I had to move on :) Amazing job you guys!
I would love for a tutorial or some kind of how-to, as I wasn't able to understand by myself lol :) Seems great, but I didn't played so felt unfair to rate :)
Realy awesome game!! I love the game concept and execution, very minimal but predictable and with fast learning curve, and really challenging! Great work! I did find a few bugs around the level resetting system, where I was even able to fly up without the timer starting ;) I suggest you'll take a closer look on the level resseting if you want to fix the game for larger reach :)
Really fun, simple and cute game! Great entry you guys! here's my highscore :)
Screenshot 2023-05-05 at 15.29.48.png
Very nice and cute game! It took me a minute or so to understand the mechanics, but then I started gaining points (crossed 2K points haha). It feels however like I did mistakes sometimes, but the game didn't panished me enough for it. It felt like the game will keep going even if I will shoot randomly. Awesome game overall!
I would start a new scene and use/modify the existing code to build a new balanced level design system which allows the player to focus on just a few targets at a time, or make it increasingly go crazier, but just once the player has good control of the mechanics. Good luck!
The webGL graphics were pretty broken on my Macbook M1 :(
I love the audio and graphics, and I also managed to understand some of the minigames objective, but I honestly couldn't understand what I should do in order to stop dying haha can you please make it more clear how to complete the objectives? I was able to get the "items" needed according to the top bar, and yet when the timer reached 0 I still lost
Nice and simple game, great job! I would love to see some more UI to indicate my current score, how many packaged I have left, and stuff like that :) Also, the controls were pretty hard for me, maybe the turn buttons should be swapped? I'm not sure but It got me really confused. Anyway, good entry! GL :)
Great game and brilliant graphics for the puzzle! works really well! too difficult for my lil' brain haha got stuck on lvl 3 Amazing job!
Awesome game! real fun! Great entry :)
What an awesome execution to a great game concept! Very hard to master with a laptop touchpad, though haha Very impressive art, soundtrack (who did it? couldn't see it in the Authors section), and gameplay!
Nice cute and simple game! good entry, I reached level 5 twice :)
Screenshot 2023-05-05 at 15.00.21.png
Great game! fun to play, intuitive, getting chaotic pretty fast, overall very good execution! I enjoyed it :)
Gread idea! fun and simple game, I loved it where you need to start paying attention to which drone picks up what when you starting to buy more drones! However, I find it to be too chaotic once you have more than 2 drones, and it's actually easier to play by just pressing on random locations on the screen with each drone, it gets much of the jub done :)
Great job guys! We actually made Orbit Express which is also a galactic deliveris game, but with a completly different tone haha you should check it out! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/53/orbit-express
Cool, fun simple game! Would love to see it polished and with more advanced features like upgrades, more abilities, etc. Hint for future players - some ghosts are reachable only when using the C ability ;)
Great graphics and audio, also the concept is really cool! however, I encountered a number of bugs that kinda stopped me from continuing. For exmaple, the Enter button doesn't work on my Macbook. Also, after using the pause menu once, I couldn't open it again, so I had to refresh the page every time I ended a level and wanted to go to the next one lol
BTW - I also managed to go through the first and second levels without using any of the boxes mechanics, so perhaps you want to make the platform a little higher ;)
Awesome entry! Good luck :)
Sorry mate, I think asking people to install a browser to play your game is a little too much for me :) Please make another build!
The webGL build on itch.io just made my Chrome crash twice. I'm on Mac Apple Silicon
Cool art style, but I didn't quite understood what I should do, where to click and what is the goal of the game. I think a little more work on "delivering" what the player should do and it will be much more playable! GL guys!
I couldn't really understand how to use the thrusters, so I ended up falling down every time like a rock :) Also, the game won't go on full screen on WebGL, so please add this option as otherwise there's not a chance I can use the shop with this font size haha Good luck!
I wasn't sure how to install on MacOS :)
Great game! really nice twist to a obvious delivery game! very well executed, really got me into it! I'm not sure however why I lost, as I still had time on my timer, and IDK what caused me to die. I feel like it went really hard really fast, if that what caused me to die. Amazing job overall!
