I really liked the graphics with the simple palette. I tries to play the game, but the doctors always tried to go in a straight line even if I modified the path of the pigeon to go on land.
The game has potential and looks nice. Good work.

I have to say, the color and style of your game is absolutely amazing! Overall, it's a really cool game, and I enjoyed playing it. Good job!
Please publish a web build!
Fun idea, took me a while to realise there's merit in making the pigeons go in circles!
The webGL build on itch.io just made my Chrome crash twice. I'm on Mac Apple Silicon
Nice game! Cool art style and gameplay. In the beginning I had a bit of a hard time figuring what I should do. Also I think the pigeons are a bit slow. But still nice game, good job!
Really cool game mechanic! My only criticism would be that there's quite some waiting time involved, but the mechanic allows for cool puzzles nonetheless. Also kudos to you for getting your students involved in Ludum Dare, I wish I had teachers who did the same back when I was in high school :)
Loved the pigeons (especially how they flap) and figuring out how to send out multiple pigeons at once! I was really bad at not running into enemies what with having to time my pigeons to time my troops, but your game's concept is really cool!

Had difficulty directing the men where to go. I know time is always an issue but a tutorial would have definitely helped. Interesting concept.

I had a pretty hard time wrapping my head around the controls. I kept on doing other things than I intended. Other than that, the game is pretty polished. Liked the amount of gameplay there was. well done!
Haven't seen this type of game before, great to have it. Niceand simple graphics pleases the eye.
Neat and well-designed graphics combined with novel mechanics! I wish there was some music, it would be nice.
It is quite challenging timing the pigeons, since the player cannot see the route and speed of the enemies. Therefore I couldn't design the path clearly by measuring the length of the route. It turned out that I need some luck to pass the level.

I know that I can send new pigeon before the last one returns, yet it is much harder for me to master.
It's still a good game after all. Nice work!
Btw it sounds really nice that you help your students take part in the jam. They have a good teacher! ^^

As a highscool student myself, I think it is great that you are encouraging students to partake in Game Jams :D
This is a really unique mechanic that is done very well! Inherent to the mechanic, however, the game-play loop is fairly slow, but it does allow room for mastery once one learns how to send multiple pigeons off. Maybe a way to incentivize the faster paced game-play style could be to do a calculation while planning that will tell you if a pigeon will hit something on its path (that could be a fair bit of work, I'm just spitballing here)? that aside, the graphics are clean and satisfying and I managed to pick up the relatively complex mechanic quite quickly, without having to read a novel worth of tutorial text.

Wow, I love how you're encouraging your students to play.
The pigeons graphics are so cute, and I'm so fascinated by the potential a "delayed RTS".
I'm curious if the simple design change of "send pigeons" when left click would lead to a faster gameplay loop, where you can send out multiple pigeons quickly!
Really impressed at the level of polish! Great job! It's not really my style of game, but the mechanics are very creative and well implemented. The only comment I have is maybe streamline the UI and the commands. Other than that, great game and solid entry!!

@iqoribou very cool mechanics. good game. great idea, good job.
Really good game, it's a perfect fit for a jam, not too ambitious, simple but pleasant aesthetics, easily understandable gameplay and you even added several levels !
I would say that it's a pity that there is no background music, even a simple royalty free music would have added a lot to the atmosphere. I also regret the absence of a restart button, the last 2 levels are hardcore!
Congratz on the submission !

Great game. It is quite hard to find the right timings.

@olivier-millochau You can press ESC to open a menu to either go back to the main menu or restart the level :) forgot to mention it. Thanks for playing!

Super innovative and fun concept. The pacing is just a bit slow maybe. And audio could add a lot to the game. All in all, a really solid compo entry for this jam and so much potential. Great job !
No quick restart of course.
Also, the moment the game introduce enemies it gets really hard. Some enemies are almost impossible for me to predict their movement, especially when they stop moving.
I hate when they are obstacles that moves but have barely anything to "read" them.

@stingby12 Sorry you felt that way, most enemies just go from point A to point B and then loop, except some that got from A to B to C. Though I guess I could have added a line to show their paths.
Also as I mentionned in a comment above you can reset by pressing ESC, think I'll add that to the itch page. Thank you for playing :)

Very innovative concept. Some suggestions if the game continues to be developed: - Add an anti-mechanical unit: it can destroy tanks but is vulnerable to enemy infantry - Add a programmable pause time before the pigeon comes back to prevent it from being killed on the way back. - Added capture of a pigeon loft or a unit where pigeons can take off and return. This unit can only be controlled from the initial loft. This will allow for more complex puzzles.
I hope this will be useful. I really enjoyed the game and would love to see what a "Delayed-Real Time Strategy Game" would look like with more development time!

Very well done ! The idea is great and well executed, I really enjoyed playing it, I love this idea of indirect tactical gameplay
