Sir John Diggity and his friends: A Dangerous Delivery by Sheepolution 2023-05-18T18:52:07Z
I love the humor of this game, and the use of the theme is funny too. The game randomly froze and I'm not sure why, but other than that, nice one!

I love this!! It was a bit overwhelming at first, but on subsequent tries I sorta got the hang of it (although I still feel I'd make a terrible employee at Faceless Corp.) This game reminds me of Wertpol's Menagerie series (specifically Archive), was there perhaps some inspiration?
The graphics & ambience are also really great. Awesome entry!
Ran into some of the same issues others described here, but other than that, I had a great time playing this! I love the graphics, the music is great, and the player control feels really nice. Awesome work!
My main criticism is that waiting for the title screen to finish can get a bit annoying on restarts, but other than that, this game is awesome! I love the use of the theme, and the mood is great too
Absolutely amazing, I was smiling the whole time while playing. The dialogue kept me going as I retried & retried & retried puzzles and kept me endlessly entertained. The boss fight is just as amazing, the music was great. Highly appreciate the "resume boss fight music" button at the end, that got a final laugh out of me. Top quality jam entry!
Love the graphics & cool use of the theme!
So that's why my packages always arrive late & in bad shape...
I love the use of the theme here. The combat feel is super slick & has lots of oomph. Awesome!
The art is really cute! I really like the game's tone and that the fact that the player character's death is inevitable, it's all really somber. RIP Alfven, a real hero.
This game rocks dude! (...no pun intended, considering the game has rocks you can shoot) I love the graphics, and the player control feels tight. I'm not sure if this is part of the intended design, but it's possible to snipe souls from far-away parts of the level if the player aims *just* right (those shots made me feel like a badass soul sniper though). It'd be nice to have a setting for mouse sensitivity, but other than that, nice!!!
EDIT: Forgot to mention that the gun spin animation is super satisfying :)
Some of these challenges had me laughing hard (RIP dinosaurs), good humor in this one
Awesome graphics & music! Player control could be a little tighter, but I still made it to the end & enjoyed the experience. Also miku
First off, thanks for playing the game everyone :) I want to quickly address some of the key points brought up in the comments so far:
- **The camera**: Yeah it's a bit janky. I should have focused on fixing it at the end since I had a few hours to spare before the compo deadline, but alas...
- **Navigation/backtracking**: I probably should have made Molt start in the middle of the level rather than to the very left. There actually is a way to warp around the level, but it's not totally clear in the game's design (I probably could have added a yellow dot indicator...?): doors.png The doors open in Molt's turn, and standing still in front of them warps you to the other door respectively. At least people found the Death speedrun strat :) Speaking of which:
- **Death penalty**: Death is more punishing in the Hero's stage, since the Hero has no incentive to return to the beginning of the level, while Molt does. I did not want to make death too penalizing in Molt's stage (e.g. undoing chest restocking progress) due to the previous point since it'd be annoying to do all chests again after dying. But this probably could have been addressed as well by starting Molt off in the middle of the level.
I'm playing around with ideas for a post-jam version (which will probably focus more on Molt's part, since the Hero -> Molt twist can pretty much only be executed once :D, but with some extra twists nonetheless), so the critiques about the game's weak points are very helpful. I'm glad that people enjoyed the game despite those, and again, thank you all for playing!
Nice mechanic! Could easily see this extended post-jam, good work.
Really cool game mechanic! My only criticism would be that there's quite some waiting time involved, but the mechanic allows for cool puzzles nonetheless. Also kudos to you for getting your students involved in Ludum Dare, I wish I had teachers who did the same back when I was in high school :)
I was already laughing at the audio, and then I noticed the progress bar twisting and turning. 10/10 entry.
My only complaint would be that it got a bit hectic and at some point it was hard to see dead bodies under all the particles and other enemies... but I feel like the chaos adds to the game's charm (yeah, let's call it charm ;D)
I love the mood created by the graphics and the audio! Had a smile on my face playing this one, well done :D
Thank god (?) for the pulling mechanic. Love this little sokoban take for the theme! the graphics are super nice too. awesome job :)
Cool use of the theme! My only complaint is that some of the hitboxes feel a little unforgiving- it sometimes took a few tries to successfully align myself to summon a demon, and platforming through narrow gaps became a bit difficult because of the player's hitbox. It was still fun though, the rush of getting chased by your demonic clones is great. Adjust the hitboxes, and you've got a solid little game right here :D Nice job!
More visibility would've helped (as the comment above suggested, perhaps by zooming out a little depending on how far the ball is from you?), and I also didn't realize I could dash until I did it by accident (I easily forget wordy tutorials before the game begins x) ). The main gameplay mechanic is pretty cool though, and I'm impressed by the art, story, and ambience, your team packed a lot into this! Solid entry :)
Really solid entry! Love the use of the theme here. It was a bit hard to follow how much health my player character had, but other than that, no complaints here :)
Great little game! The art is impressive, I really like the main character's design. My only complaints about the game are that the platforming is a little janky (the player animation seems to go crazy sometimes after landing), and it'd be nice to skip the little intro animation in the second level (I died a few times on my first attempt before getting the platforming, so it would've been nice to skip that animation). Other than those minor things, you have a solid little entry right here, good stuff :D the title is also funny & smart ;D
WOW, the art & sound design are super polished, I especially loved the dynamic music change whenever the central tower was under demonic siege. Nicely done!!! I feel like the gameplay could've had some foil to it, because towards the end I was more interested in how many more wizards I could summon to sustain myself infinitely, rather than actually beating the game ;D solid entry though!!!
There were some odd hiccups (items not moving sometimes) and, as other mentioned by other comments, it was a bit difficult to remember from which portal the items came. Regardless, fun game, especially the song in the final level! Love it when developers give their jam games a personal touch like that :)
Your team did a great job, the graphics, audio, and gameplay are all very cool :D I had some slight problems with the drawing mechanic ("unrecognized gesture" when i felt like it should've recognized what I was doing, or somehow getting "sloth" when drawing "gluttony" o_O), but stuff like that is to be expected from a game jam entry. Nicely done, following to see more of your team!
Favourite graphics of the jam so far. Nicely done!!!
Cool game! I think it could have benefited from being able to skip through some of the inbetween segments (the ones saying "Memorize and paint the sigil... X/Y"), but other than that, nice little entry :)
We're very happy about the feedback so far, thank you all for playing & rating!
Strong visuals and awesome gameplay in this one! Definitely one of those jam entries that deserve a full version later on.
Catchy music, lovely graphics, great use of the theme, and overall a nice little experience! One of my favourites, nicely done :D
I like the little set of mechanics present here! I agree with one of the comments above that the narrative parts are a bit lengthy in contrast to the gameplay, there probably should've been a way to fast-forward through the text parts (but the story that's there is still pretty cool!)
Solid art style & graphics too :D
Really cool! I like the fact that you can choose how many towers there are, acts as a neat difficulty setting. It was a bit difficult to gauge at first in which direction I should draw my bridges, but eventually I got the hang of it. Solid little entry, hope to see it expanded on after the jam :)
I like the mood and the music a lot :) I also didn't realize at first that I could hover over different objects for descriptions, that and the lack of a tutorial are the game's main flaws in its current state. Still, nicely done considering the limitations of the jam!
I second what most here have already said, the intro is a bit long, but otherwise it's a pretty fun hustle :) Well done
I really like how well it's animated despite the simple graphics, solid little game :)
One of the more addicting jam entries I've played so far, can't help but stick around to watch the number increase and the particles to go crazy :D
(seems like I pressed the "Publish" button too eagerly and my comment got posted twice :-) )
Love this one! Good job on the mood, as other reviewers mentioned.
The main issue I encountered while playing was that I seemed to get stuck inside the monster sometimes and the camera would go all crazy with it moving around... but other than that, solid little game :)
The instructions are a little overwhelming, it may have been useful to have a key to bring them up in-game. Other than that, I like the drone's motions and the way you fly between points of interests :D
Trying to get combos in this game is pretty fun :D
This is so cool!!!!! My mind's racing with other things that could be done with this format, maybe enemies that are only visible on the tiny game window? Or vice-versa? I came here from your devlog on the front page, I'm very interested in seeing a post-jam version of the game and am looking forward to playing it :D
Some minor immediate post-jam fixes!
- Fixed wrong eye sprites being used - Fixed mixer contents not showing up correctly - Fixed fabric balls accidentally dropping if mouse is moved too fast
Cute! One thing I really, really like is the way you start the game by turning the light switch on - that's a really nice diagetic way to let the player adjust to the controls/mechanics before the game begins :) I did find the instructions a little confusing at first (as well as figuring out which status effects required which treatments), but I had fun once I got the hang of it. Cool game :D
I can't say much about the art that hasn't already been said, great job there!!! Fun game too :) (also ey, i recognize that meowter space reference to the last jam ;D )
I really really love the player character's design :D Fun little game!
