I can't press any button in html5 version. :sob:
Love the art and the musical vibe! I had issues with the HTML5 as well, I eventually got to the gameplay, but no enemies spawned :(
html5 version isnt working on my end, hope to play it soon!
The web version of the game is not continuing past the tutorial-screen, i can place stuff with the keys, but they are not accepted to continue to the gameplay. Hope you can get this fixed.
There doesn't seem to be a way to start the game. It says press 'any key' to start but no key seems to start it. I notice the number buttons spawn the items. but the intro text remains.
Further, the downloadable version is 'not found' as well.
Also not able to start the game in html5 :disappointed: For some reason the download link seems to not be working either. From what I can see though the art direction looks really interesting!
Vety cool game!
Yes, unfortunately was unable to play the web version, as the game does not start. :/
You are really great! The game turned out great!
couldn't trigger the game on web stuck on the press any button to play. love the theming and art though great work!
HTML5 version seems to have an issue with getting past the tutorial text sadly.
Sorry guys. Now the bug is fixed!
I could finish the game! Nice concept, art and ambiance! The game however lacks balance: there is no need to plant walls while you can spam wires. As well, once you unlock the wires, no need for checkpoint. Very good entry overall.
Interesting concept. There's some 'Papers Please!' theme at the back too. Good job!
Interesting game concept! I liked the variety in people types, and the story was interesting. I did softlock the game at some point, I should've been the level but instead it just froze.
I love this game concept, But I don't figure out that why there is nothing happened when the green man was blocked by the officer.
the black&white style art is really amazing! engoy playing but I think I meet a bug again...
Cool game! Very moody!
For my personal taste it's a bit hard to really engage in a story in a jam game, it's just not my thing. So I'll just skip giving feedback on that.
I felt like the controls were a bit strange. The hammer UI should probably have been furthest to the right (since 5 equipped it). In my first play through I never realised I could unequip all "summons" with right click (not just the hammer) so maybe that could be updated on the itch page. I think it would be really nice if you could swap equipped by pressing a new one, that is if you had the wall equipped and pressed 3 in would just equip the barb wire. And, obviously this is a bit nit-picky but I think enter/space/left click to continue would be better.
The collision where a bit hard to understand, maybe it would be a good idea to actually draw them out (that is an actual square around the animations). I placed the '4' in front of the fugitive, but I guess it caught to foot of someone above and that failed me.
I liked that you had the sounds that you had, but I feel it could me nice to add a "plop" when placing a obstacle and "tick" "clack" when equipping/ unequipping.
I think it was good that you allowed me to just quickly try again. It didn't feel too punishing failing, so that's good! I really liked the music, it matched the gray, doomy atmosphere.
Well done, nice that you joined the jam!
Interesting concept for gameplay! I somehow had a plants vs zombies vibe.
Art and music work vell to create a gloomy totalitarian mood and atmosphere. Good entry!
I coulndn't get past the first level with a child in web version. The screen kept scrolling, and registered neither success nor failure. It worked after I restarted the page, but then again broke on the next level. photo_2024-04-18_19-17-33.jpg
The hot fix that solves the endless scrolling loop has been uploaded. Thanks for the patience!
I like the little set of mechanics present here! I agree with one of the comments above that the narrative parts are a bit lengthy in contrast to the gameplay, there probably should've been a way to fast-forward through the text parts (but the story that's there is still pretty cool!)
Solid art style & graphics too :D
Really cool concept! I loved how the music contributed to the atmosphere. And the art style is very nice too. Great job!
I really liked this game! I like the little story and the fact that you could skip if you get stuck on a level lol
I wish I could skip the lore, but overall, the game is cool.
I really loved the aesthetics! The gameplay is fun and challenging. I could not get rid of the feeling, that there is twist buried somewhere in the game or the narrative, but I couldn't find/understand it. Also, why does skipping have no effect on the game? Is this just to allow players to get through the narrative, in case they cannot finish a level?
I enjoyed the writing, the general conceit gave Papers Please vibes, but it's a different beast mechanically. The art style is wonderful, musical accompaniment fitting and refined. Overall good entry.
This is such a cool entry! The art style is lovely and unique, and works well with the gameplay.
