I quite like the game as the combo is cool. However I think the operation can be made more smooth and juicy.
I like the game mechanic, though I found it somewhat difficult to direct the demons into the pit initially. I kept punching them the wrong way, and I think being able to punch without having to jump would reduce the difficulty curve and make it more accessible in the beginning. I eventually go the hang of it though and found the demon-punching to be quite satisfying. I did have quite a bit of success just standing in one place and waiting for them to come to me, but the spikes and balloon demons did encourage movement as the game progressed. I enjoyed the experience and will probably play more of this polished puncher post-LD.
Really fun game, I must say this is done really well, the music and visuals are super appealing, and it's fun to play, the addition of the air enemies later on really forces you to play more cleaverly and not just wait to push enemies in right by the edge, I enjoyed playing this thoroughly. :)
The graphics were great. The gameplay itself was also great. It just took me a little while to understand that you can turn your fist with the mouse. After that it was really fun. Also the fact that you made different enemies and fell made the whole thing dynamic. Superbly done.
I love the color palette and the cool looking sprites! All animations look great as well and makes the game feel alive. I had some difficulties hitting the demons after doing an uppercut on them at first, but eventually got the hang of it. The large iron fist along with the slow motion effect while charging makes the attack feel very satisfying.
Overall a great entry, well done!
Pretty decent game! Though simple, the graphics were really well done, and the music wasn't bad either. However, while the game does get fun eventually, I think the controls take a bit too long to get used to. Would've loved to have a more straightforward punching ability and maybe not having to jump to activate the punch. I'd love to see this idea expanded upon after LD because punching those demons around sure can be satifying :)
Overall the game is fun but if you try to play it with a laptop it gets pretty much impossible to play. I would have loved to have all the controls on the keyboard instead of mixing the mouse and keyboard.

Victory! The controls and game feel do end up clicking nicely, although my preferred method was to short-jump and spam attacks. It's a good piece of fun, one which I'd probably enjoy more at a higher difficulty - but definitely respectable to have an easier entry for Ludum Dare. Those are spine animations too, right? Very solid, congrats!
Mini jump and spam click for win. Cool game overall, could have some more difficulty spikes. Liked the art and it was verld53-6.PNGy satisfying to yeet them back to hell.
Once I got the hang of the controls, it was super fun. I didn't realize what the uppercut was for at first, but it is a great mechanic. When the punched enemies take out the flying balloon enemies, it is extremely whimsical.
This is so good, I love the uppercut + air punch combo and the pixel art is really nice. Super polished and satisfying to play! banishpit.png
Took a while for the controls to sink in but after I got it this was really pleasant, great job!
I love the use of the theme here. The combat feel is super slick & has lots of oomph. Awesome!
Really lovely art and audio thgat fits well. I found it quite confusing that you needed to jump and then hold left mouse and let go to punch forward but realised it was useful after uppercutting them. Great entry!
Damn this is amazing, he combat is simple but super satisfying. The graphics are cool, reminds me of the of Shovel Knight. Amazing game for a jam, you could make it a full game if you wanted to.

I spent too long without moving my mouse, that i would care to admit. Finally when I started moving it, the game became easier ahah. Great entry, nice design and feeling !
I like the mechanics and the overall feeling of the game. I think it would be even more addictive if more levels were added. The introduction of new enemies in the later levels keeps the game interesting until you reach level 10.

i really liked this game, and how the difficulty slowly increases before it's a complete madness! animations were super fluid and the game overall feels very polished. my life has changed when i discovered i could **aim** with the cursor. really fun to play, will certainly come back to it later! :D
A nice game you've got here. A bit frustrating when I managed to get the imps stuck in the corner and couldn't punch them out, and I found the controls a bit fiddly (the have-to-be-jumping-to-punch gave me a bit of trouble, I could never seem to get the timing right), but I love the graphics and audio. Excellent work!
Really fun game! Enjoyed smashing them back to hell! I just wished there was a more complex level design, or just a longer level ^^
The grafic and sound is great and - as usual ;) - you came up with a nice gameplay idea (I follow you now for a while on itch). Having to jump for punching makes the controls a bit difficult. But I think this is on purpose?
What I didn't like: Please include some Input (ESC) so I can leave the game without using the task manager.

This is the most unusual game I've played by far, the huge view, unusual attack mechanics and enemy design it's interesting, I don't mean this in a bad way it's just an observation, I don't think I've played a jam game before where you have to jump if you want to attack which is creative, all in all, I had plenty of fun pushing the demons around. the experience was short but enjoyable, bonus points for using Godot UWU
Cool concept and well executed! I think this could be pushed even further to make it super satisfying. Having the ability to do combo would be awesome. Congrats for your entry!
Very fun game, although you can cheese is pretty easily by jumping and instantly punching while pointing towards the pit! Nice that you don't instantly die by falling into the lava (which I did twice...) Nice graphics. +1 for Godot!
Super great, very fun. The design of this is inspired, love the conceit of punching enemies into a pit, love all of the elements encouraging midair gameplay, love all the game-feel and juice. Music and sounds are retro and fun to listen to while playing, art is obviously fantastic. Great job!

A peculiar interpretation of delivery indeed!
Interesting that the game focus on jump and only allows Charge punch in the air with slow motion... Also, I realized later, when fighting balloon enemies, that Uppercut jumps higher than max jump, and I had to use it to reach them (or throw other minions at them).
The PFX on lava when sending an enemy back to hell is pretty satisfying. SFX do their jobs too.
I think maybe there could be some work to do on music like some filter effect during slow motion.
Also, it seems that hearts are actually lives. I thought it was a bug when I got hit several times and didn't lose a life, until a hit pushed me to lava and I lost a heart. But with only 3 of them it's better this way, as I got hit by spikes multiples times (sometimes trying to jump higher with them!)
I love it, very satisfying sounds and punches, turns out it's super easy to just sit in the corner and build up enemies then punch them all into the pit at once
I really liked the dark color palette of the screen and the character graphics. It feels really satisfying when the punches land well. And notably, the demons are really cute :)
