I'm having a problem picking up the items, so i'm just having a good time going from building to building in your little town :)
Cute, Simple and very much like overcooked. Wished there was multiplayer
I am not sure if the problem is on my side but why i liked the game itself, the implementation is not scaled correctly on the lumum dare website. This makes it hard to be aware of whats in the chests and the top section of items.
I like the artstyle and music of this game! I's so cool to just vibe and drive around the city. But I gotta say, I am very confused by this game. I start at my home and can create items and carry them around and create more? But what am I supposed to do and how? Sorry, I did not understand so I just drove around chilling in my home that i filled with more and more mushrooms. :D This was fun, tho!
Heyo, don't forget to put a link for your game!
It reminds me of Overcooked :), and it's a nice interpretation of the theme.
I think that the timers could be a bit more generous. It didn't feel possible to me to fill out all the orders you get. You will always fail some. But maybe I'm just not fast enough . It would also be cool if we could see the orders with timers while driving in the city. That way, we would know if it still makes sense to try to get tho the client or there is just not enough time left.
I wish the truck had a gas pedal to go faaaster .
@sodoj They have an embedded version here on the top of their LD page.
Good work! I accidentally closed all chests with invalid content at some point and wasnt able to clear them. But great mix with the driving and packing
Wow you guys have packed a lot of content into a short space of time. Nice that the game was hosted direct in the game page - thanks.
Insane amount of content for the short time, the timeless modern art style works well and audio and visual quality are on point. I didn't really understand that I was able to leave and do deliveries for a long time, and it does get quite tedious, especially as there doesn't seem to be a form of penalty for missed deliveries?
I can absolutely see this kind of game on Steam with Multiplayer support though. Great job!
lots of art for that little lime. It all looked very good and like an actual finished game. The only problem is that I find it a bit unintuitive.
A really cool combination of warehouse tasks and driving. The graphics are cute and the music gives the game a nice chill atmosphere.
The timers on the orders seem a bit rough, and sometimes they'd all be in the low 50s when I get back, so I'd have to essentially just wait around until they run out before I can continue playing (since I can't put together and collect an order in 50 seconds). Maybe they should reset every time you enter the warehouse again?
Like others have said, it would have been nice to have the timer and order numbers on the screen while you're driving so you can see what you're going to make and where you should be taking things.
I also would have liked driving that wasn't locked to just four directions; it feels like that would have freed up the movement, led to some crashing shenanigans, and made the driving parts more fun?
(Also, this is probably just me, but I would have liked to have the option to use arrow keys for movement; having all the controls one one hand feels a bit unwieldy somehow. [And inefficient! My other hand is just hanging pointlessly by my side.])
Nice game! Cool artwork.
Neat entry with a chill vibe. I like that I can make a diamond ring in seconds, but I still can only afford an old pickup truck. =) I couldn't figure out how to make a feather, etc. though, so I never actually fulfilled any deliveries.
A really easy to pick up game with an absurd amount of content for a Jam. I did notice a bug where, in the factory, if I went towards where the instructions were (e.g. the right side of the screen) then the game would crash except for the music. Other than that, great job!
Got the boxes and drove to the delivery site, but nothing happened. Pretty impressive design for a jam, though.
Oh shit @fabula-rasa , thank you for letting me know, I thought it was an embedded trailer or something!
Now that I played the game, I can say I had fun! It was hectic and stressful, which perfectly simulates the delivery service under crunch! The game looked nice and the tune playing in the background was sweet. It took me some time to figure out how to play though, some more in game explanation wouldve been nice. I also wished the character in the factory/shed wasn't that slippery to control. Overall, fun time!
A really cool and fun game! very impressing pixel art! However, although it took me some time to understand the game, I thought I was doing ok but each time I finished a delivert I just lost points lol so I'm not sure if it's me or a bug :) Great job!
Nice job! We'd like to see a post-jam version! Here's some unrequested suggestion based on our initial difficulties with the game:
- Once a box has been filled and picked up it should disappear from the floor; - The timer should always be visible while driving; - It would be nice to play a sound or give some other feedback when the box has been delivered.
Bye!
I loved the music--it fit really well with the vibe of the game. I found the controls pretty unforgiving--the character was a bit too fast and pretty floaty, while the car could have probably been floatier! I liked the variety of ingredients and orders, and the minimap. Nice game!
Very fun little idea! I love being able to assemble orders first and then physically deliver them around town. This could be a really fun full-size game if you decide to expand it after the jam. Great work!
Interesting idea. I could imagine that it would be a successful game with this game mechanic.
Love the vibe it gave me. A bit of old classic pokemon in the beginning :-D Was a bit hard controlling the car. A bit quick on the turning. But overall a good entry :-D
Thank you for your submission! I really enjoyed the idea of your game, having to pack everything yourself and make to the outside for delivery, I could feel the game playing with the balancing other folks already shared above.
Nice game! Here some feedback:
- Currently the optimal strategy is when picking up an item immediately start building another one (E + Space) which doesn't require any thinking or strategy. I would be cool if there were more opportunities to think strategically. Perhaps the items could expire (like food overcooks in Overcooked) if you leave them too long - There door to the outside is not very obvious, took me like 2 minutes poking at random stuff until I found I can go outside
- The description says don't deliver a bomb, but the game asks to deliver a bomb.. I'm confused :D
- Also I'm no game design expert (and definitely not a pixel artist  ), but heres some feedback from my play session. All the things that had me confused for ~1 minute each. And comparing it to overcooked confusion.png
All in all I think it would be great if it was more obvious what I can and can't do. If a box is for decoration - place it behind a wall so I definitely know I can't do anything with it
If there is a door - make some light shine though it, add some arrow, have npcs walk through it :D
@markais Thank you for your thourough feedback, I agree that the UI design is a bit confusing. The idea with expiring items was intended, but time ran out before we could implement that. The bombs were intended as a diversion, an item, that is "accidentally" in your order, but you should not deliver. :)
Neat idea! I would have liked a timer on the truck map screen to help you prioritize deliveries and the ability to open up chests when they get accidentally closed. Good game overall, well done.
I really liked the game loop involving the assembly and delivery step, really cool way to break up the gameplay. I felt the bombs, while communicated that they were "bad", weren't really communicated on how you should deal with them, nor why they were in your workshop. I also felt the character speed was a bit fast for the gameplay area, and the the timers were a bit short
Parts of the game are somewhat confusing but overall an enjoyable experience
The combination of the graphics and audio are very nice and suit each other well. The pixel art is cool and the game mechanics feel very smooth. Overall nice game!
game seems to not be scaled correctly on the website so it is hard to know all the items needed for deliveries. Other than that nice simple premise. Is the map generated randomly, because i was surprised by the size. Because of the wait times for deliveries all starting at the same time and the waiting for items to spawn taking away time for deliveries, it seems like depending on distances between delivery locations, you might not be able to actually finish the 3 deliveries you are given. also i accidentally closed a chest when it didnt have all the necessary items and couldnt find a way to open it if there is one, which i feel there should be , again if there isnt.
