LD53 — Delivery

Chaos Kitchen by NoobDude 2023-05-02T18:38:37Z

Hey, thanks for reviewing our game! Your one was overall quite enjoyable and there's room for improvements. You should really make a post-jam version! A couple of suggestions: - we found the mix between pixel art and high quality drawing a bit inconsistent. You might try to draw a high resolution environment too. - we more than once found ourselves stuck to trees till we realized that the collision boxes cover the objects' entire area. Perhaps you could limit the collision boxes to the lower part of the images. Keep up the good work!

Stork inc. by Ntimi 2023-05-09T07:55:51Z

Nice game! I haven't really been able to manage more than two or three birds at a time, especially while trying to assign tasks in a more or less coherent way based on the distance between the bird, the baby and the adult waiting for the delivery, but it gets somehow easier game after game. Love the concept!

Pack 'em UP! by Timbaleek 2023-05-03T21:33:56Z

Nice job! We'd like to see a post-jam version! Here's some unrequested suggestion based on our initial difficulties with the game:

- Once a box has been filled and picked up it should disappear from the floor; - The timer should always be visible while driving; - It would be nice to play a sound or give some other feedback when the box has been delivered.

Bye!

Mailman Madness by AndideBob 2023-05-02T21:42:06Z

Nice work! We liked the fake 3D effect a lot! One question: how did you manage to make the user send out their score? We tried with a simple HTTP Post but it only works with the Windows version, while it doesn't with the WebGL one. Thanks!

Hexpress by RunicPixels 2023-05-09T11:29:52Z

Damn, isometric pixel art is my weakness and you nailed it with this beautiful game. You should definitely keep the development going on. We'll keep an eye on it!

Freight of BOOOM! by Merrow 2023-05-02T22:16:48Z

Thanks for commenting our game! We enjoyed playing yours and we'll definitely come back when we'll have more time.

B-Rush Deliveries by bashem 2023-05-02T22:21:55Z

@noobdude @merrow and everyone else: Thanks for your feedbacks! We've uploaded a new version with bugfixes and improved dynamics, and we'll keep tweaking the gameplay in the next days. Hope you'll enjoy!

B-Rush Deliveries by bashem 2023-05-04T00:06:16Z

Thanks everyone for your kind feedbacks!

@milq We're definitely planning to add music! @emmelinee Thanks for reporting the bug. We were aware of it, we already tried to quickly patch it but I guess it still pops out every now and then. We'll try again tomorrow! @jpbaraky Yeah we were somehow conflicted about the fact that players would've needed some knowledge in color theory but we eventually decided to still go that way while on average giving players some more time than we initially planned. Don't give up and try again!

B-Rush Deliveries by bashem 2023-05-09T09:32:16Z

Thanks everyone for the feedbacks! @ntimi @lucdeligne We've uploaded a new version with longer timers and with helpers to whom the player can delegate orders related to items which have previously been successfully built by the player himself. Also there's now an instruction book which explains how to build each item/produce each color! @yumykon We just put some basic background music on, but we should definitely compose something ourselves as soon as we'll get enough time!

Orbit Express by BmanStudio 2023-05-02T21:51:27Z

Thanks for commenting our game! We'd like to try yours but the WebGL version gives us this error:

"Unable to parse Build/V1.1.framework.js.br! This can happen if build compression was enabled but web server hosting the content was misconfigured to not serve the file with HTTP Response Header "Content-Encoding: br" present. Check browser Console and Devtools Network tab to debug."

FYI We had the same issue and solved it by disabling Project settings -> Player -> Publishing settings -> Compression format

We'll come back later and try again.

Dungeon Delivery by Kyle Spence 2023-05-09T13:01:29Z

Nice game! I've been able to easily get accustomed to the abilities and to deliver the package to the lich king after about 5 deaths. Also you made me realize how badly I've been missing rogue-like games in my life for the last 10 years or so. I'll definitely come back later and try to finish the game! And by the way it works for me on Firefox (112.0.2 (64-bit)).

Devil's Corp by Neobit 2023-05-09T06:11:35Z

This game is so addicting. I came to thank you for your kind comment (thanks!) and to leave one for you, and I've already been playing for like an hour now. Please carry on with the development, I'd definitely pay for an extended version. Also having a shared highscore system would certainly make people stick even more to the game: we used globalstats.io for ours. Anyway, I probably found a bug: at one point the enemies just stopped dying no matter how much i kept shooting at them. It only happened once tho. Keep up the great work!

Stork Exchange by Payaosito 2023-05-03T21:47:57Z

We liked the concept. One thing you should absolutely do in our humble opinion is to add a timer: that would make the game way more engaging. Good job anyway!

Inconvenient Conveyance by LucDeligne 2023-05-09T07:04:12Z

Score: 638 and counting. Love how the score tends to increase game after game, meaning that there's always something new to learn in terms of tactics and right timings. Very addictive. Excellent work!

Special Delivery by Alex Chertilin 2023-05-02T21:21:38Z

Very nice idea. The story is indeed really intriguing and we've got chills while realizing how weird the story was getting. It feels a bit too overwritten for a quick contest like this tho. Anyway, good job!

Frogivio by milq 2023-05-02T23:06:46Z

Nice puzzle game, was very fun to play. You should definitely make more levels for a post-compo version!

Egg Panic by RobLaro 2023-05-02T22:48:45Z

This game is super fun! Nothing to add, really. Good job!

Mt. Deliverest by QwillaK 2023-05-03T22:06:03Z

Very good game, well balanced and really enjoyable. I'll definitely come back and try to break my record when I'll have more time. I'd like to see a post-jam version with new levels and slightly different dynamics in each of them!

Love Birds by Franke 2023-05-03T23:47:38Z

Thanks for reviewing our game!

Very nice concept, also artwork and music are cute and comfy. There's room for a great post-jam version in my opinion. For instance, if I'm not missing something about the current version, you might try to define some advanced game dynamics where the player has an active role in determining the quality of the letter. Also I'd perhaps speed the bird up a little bit, increase the turning angle and add a score.

Anyway, nice work!

Delivery Boy by waptaincaffles 2023-05-02T21:30:55Z

This game is absolutely amazing! We'll definitely come back and play again later.

Slime Post by Sebhulhu 2023-05-02T21:22:19Z

We really enjoyed the game. You should definitely deliver (ha!) the post-jam version!

Delivery! NYC by Obe Dot 2023-05-02T22:08:28Z

We really enjoyed the game! You can actually experience the panic while the trains' shadows are approaching. We'd definitely like to see a post-jam version!

Corgi Cargo Combat by Zerfalex 2023-05-02T23:13:47Z

Simple yet very enjoyable game! We love your original interpretation of the theme. Good job!

Delivery G.U.I. by JpBaraky 2023-05-04T01:02:36Z

Great game, great art, great music! I would've made it a bit faster and more difficult (like more birds and/or more rocks/balloons thrown by the villagers) but that might be a matter of personal taste. Anyway I liked very much how the overall difficulty was increasing after each delivery.

Also I probably found a bug: whenever I'm on the floor while grabbing a box and then move the drone sideways, the horizontal speeds gets unbalanced to a point where even if I take off again I'm more or less unable to move on one of the two directions unless I try to trigger the same bug again.

Good job anyway!

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Shiba Idle by ejmejm 2024-10-14T23:52:53Z

Made the game crash at around 97k and had to restart :D Anyway liked it so much, are you planning to do a post-jam version? Games like this one are disturbingly addictive!

Tiny revolution by island-jam-2-group-3 2024-10-14T21:34:23Z

Cool concept, the gameplay is really enjoyable but right now there's no real reason to check whether the creatures are good or bad. Also creatures coming from more vertical directions become increasingly impossible to analyze or even kill, which is not necessarily bad (I mean, you have to die sooner or later) but makes the game feel somehow not perfectly designed. So a couple of unsolicited suggestions: Give the player a reason to analyze the creatures, for instance the good ones could give you a shock and lower your life is not previously analyzed, and the map could be a square with equal sides. Waiting for a post-jam version!

Tiny Sanctuary by 03gramat 2024-10-14T21:51:22Z

A breath of fresh air while reviewing several stressful games, well done! :D Worth keep developing in my opinion. Maybe some non stressful task here and there?

It's spreading! by bashem 2024-10-14T21:00:26Z

@zipirtic @ethan-ly @kwendey @dianavi @andreia @alexascher @oliver-day @wisstopher @woona Thank you all for your kind feedbacks, really appreciated!

@woona bahahhaha thanks for the hint, I've managed to get to 232! About the game being too fast-paced, that's a deliberate choice to avoid people getting bored too fast. After all, the goal is simply to cure as many patients as possible before dying, so slowing down the gameplay might even result confusing to some. I agree about certain abilities being even possibly inefficient in critical situations, but figuring out the perfect mix is also part of the game (the classic bug -> feature lazy excuse, lol)! Also yes, the ammo supplies spawns are random.

It's spreading! by bashem 2024-10-15T11:45:13Z

@deruitda many thanks!

The tiny creature is the virus :D

It's spreading! by bashem 2024-10-18T17:08:10Z

@inonesgraveded @hawkin @aligator @jammygunns Thank you guys for your feedbacks, we are so glad you're enjoying the game! :D

It's spreading! by bashem 2024-10-21T15:37:00Z

@ang-parodi @island-jam-2-group-3 Thank you guys, we really appreciate the kind words! :D

Yase-gaeru by Alexascher 2024-10-13T17:30:51Z

Wow, the general mood is amazing. The movement dynamics remind me so much of Worms' ninja ropes which were so much fun to play with back then :D Great artwork, music, gameplay. Will definitely come back playing more as soon as I'll have more time!

Critter Mayhem by MachWerx 2024-10-13T15:40:40Z

Got to 25 so far. Since the spawn points are concentrated in a limited area the best strategy seems to be going in circles trying to keep the whale at the opposite side. Will definitely come back later to try to beat @tete 's record!

Dusty Desk by Franci 2024-10-14T15:42:46Z

Amazing concept, graphics, sound, everything. Great work! This is the kind of game that NEEDS timers and a leaderboard imho, or at least countdowns in a post-jam version. I would very likely spend hours playing it trying to beat other players!

Bug Hunt by JammyGunns 2024-10-17T20:25:19Z

Lovely game, kudos to your daughter! Can I suggest a post-jam version with countdowns based on a mix of game level and difficulty level?

Tinymon by aligator 2024-10-17T20:55:53Z

Really like the concept! Although I'm not a huge fan of Pokemon-like games and async games in general, the multiplayer aspect of this game is amazing and I'd definitely keep developing it. Good work!

Tiny Economy by Hawkin 2024-10-14T20:01:59Z

Sooo relaxing. I like the mood of the game so much. Also love how you have to discover how to maximize productions by intuition and through several attempts, although I'm still not completely sure about whether I'm doing everything right or not! Some kind of initial guideline could be helpful. Definitely worth keeping developing in my opinion! Edit: whoops, just noticed the About section :)

Mon - Shared Pet Simulator by Andreia 2024-10-13T17:11:23Z

Innovation is getting 5 stars for sure. Amazing concept! Looking forward for a post-jam version with maybe increased cooperation dynamics between players!

Bug Bounty by woona 2024-10-14T16:22:41Z

Damn, makes me want getting into rogue-like game development again! Played for a good 15 minutes trying every character combination as much as possible. Fun game and great concept, could definitely evolve into something more complex in a post-jam version. Great work!

Shrimpy by Kultuk 2024-10-14T22:29:05Z

Couldn't believe a game could be both so relaxing and distressing, but here it is! Love it, also super cozy audio and graphics! Good job!

Anyway unless I'm missing something, sometimes there's no way to keep going up and the player inevitably loses.

Autopsy Center Simulator by Roroto Sic 2024-10-13T15:17:31Z

Nice concept, I've spent a good 15 minutes playing it (and failing miserably) and will definitely come back playing again!

The Immortals Snails by Dianavi 2024-10-13T16:52:51Z

Nice concept! To get the game more spicy you could do a post-jam version with small tasks to accomplish while the snails are inevitably coming to kill you.

Maze Bat by oliver_day 2024-10-14T15:12:06Z

Cool game. A countdown could definitely spice the things up! Should be easy to manually set up if there's a small set of maps and spawn points for the coins, otherwise you could think of more dynamic approaches to avoid making the maps unbeatable, like fine-tuning the countdown by evaluating the minimum paths required to get to the coins and then out of the map. I'll come back later to check if there's a post-jam version!

IGD Studios by ethan ly 2024-10-13T16:21:17Z

Cool concept but really hard to get used to controls! A refined post-jam version could be really interesting to see imho

Ant-traction: The Great Escape by zipirtic 2024-10-13T15:59:22Z

Nice game for being your first one! Can't really get more than 65 on normal as after a while the vacuums coming from vertical trajectories become just impossible to avoid, for me at least. Anyway the tension in the end gets high, which is definitely good!

Fear Unbound by duca.ad 2024-10-13T16:42:11Z

The intro is so insightful and touching. Great artwork. As many others have said tho, I can't figure out how to get out of the maze. I'll come back later to see if you fixed or expanded the game!

LD57 — Depths

Go with the Floe by johnnysix 2025-04-08T11:21:18Z

Hi there! Nice game, I liked the fast-paced movements. I only wish the camera was not so zoomed in so I could see more the orcas and obstacles around me. Overall, nice work! :)

SpeleoloGraph by Bismark 2025-04-11T19:41:24Z

Hello there! Interesting concept you came up with for the theme. I liked the random generation of the cave itself. I just wish the UI bar wouldn't have been in the bottom right corner, because this way it was blocking the view of what is coming up ahead. Overall, nice entry, and as many others have mentioned before me, some simple music would've made a big difference in terms of game atmosphere. Nice one:)

What Lurks Below by dxk2294 2025-04-08T03:14:57Z

Hey there! Great work! I just wish the progression was a bit faster, especially at the beginning.

The Offering Well by sepjani 2025-04-08T03:39:06Z

Hi! Nice work! I liked the animations and particles. The well mechanic feels a bit off sometimes, but other than that, nice entry!

Diggin' Deeper by gquibao 2025-04-11T19:48:47Z

Nice and simple, I just wished it wasn't teleporting so violently, and whenever It went down, it immediately went to the left or right, instead I expected it for its timer to reset in this case, so that I can dig immediately the tile below me, making it possible to complete the layer in a single loop. Either way, good work! :D

Beneath the lies by bashem 2025-04-08T04:13:15Z

Thank you all for the nice comments! We are very happy you enjoyed playing :)

Beneath the lies by bashem 2025-04-08T10:50:56Z

Haha yess it was very fun developing, thanks for trying it out! Wow, -10 is actually not so easy to get to, great job!

Beneath the lies by bashem 2025-04-09T07:21:52Z

We're glad you liked it! :) There are also upgrades that give you double, then triple glock all pointing towards your mouse at a slight offset angle. I think the slide glocks could be useful mostly at the deeper levels, where enemies can surround you if you're not careful. But they are mostly for fun and for even more of a mayhem for when you press 'q' and spin your guns haha, anyways thanks for your suggestions :)

Beneath the lies by bashem 2025-04-09T21:40:39Z

Haha glad you liked it :)

Beneath the lies by bashem 2025-04-09T22:06:38Z

Thank you so much for the kind words, we are really happy you enjoyed playing :D

Beneath the lies by bashem 2025-04-12T10:53:55Z

Thanks for the comments, everyone! :D @aldenwitt at one point we did have collision, but some military guys got stuck because A* wasn't accounting for it, and we ran out of time so we made a quick decision to remove them in the end. Same thing with ammo, it was quite annoying if you ran out of it and for it to be easily playable even for those with little experience in these games to enjoy it, so we ended up giving a bit too much of it. As for the side guns, they contribute to the bullet hell especially if you spin your guys, so we needed to have those haha :D Thanks for the insights!

Typing at Depth by UkuleleFury 2025-04-11T20:18:48Z

Hello there! Very interesting and unique concept. I wish it was a bit easier at the beginning, but overall nice entry :D

Antz vs Plantz by Blue Pin Studio 2025-04-08T04:10:47Z

Hi there! Overall very nice entry and unique in its way. Liked the vibes, the music was fitting, the progression was set up quite nicely. Well done! :)

Sticky's Aquarium by Salaro 2025-04-08T03:44:59Z

Hello there! Nice relaxing game. I like there idea of having these 3 separate scenes. I would've loved to see a bit more detailed lake, but overall nice entry :)

Deep Space Misfortunes by DazyLude 2025-04-11T20:40:44Z

Hi there! wow, interesting and unique game, I really liked the graphics and how the background changed during descent, and the vibe was very great with your music suggestion playing in the background. Overall nice work! :)

Hi! Very nice work, I really liked the visuals, overall very nice atmosphere!

Lone Digger by The Spinning Sofa 2025-04-20T18:03:51Z

Hi there! Nice entry! I just wish it had some simple infinite loop at the end where you go deeper and deeper and it gets more difficult gradually, I think it would've added a lot. Nice graphics, chill gameplay, great work guys! :D

Fred's Fishing Frenzy by Phasmantic 2025-04-11T20:27:10Z

Hello there, nice relaxing game, I wish there was some background music. Nice graphics, overall good job :D
