I liked the game, but the calming style conflicts a lot with the hardcore gameplay. Still, the style and narrative are really cool, plus there's a variety of insects that work differently mechanically, which is cool and gives you a sense of gradually learning mechanics

Amazing atmosphere, nice graphics. It turned out very harmoniously. But these dragonflies!.. It's too hard...
Really interesting concept here. It's quite innovative, with a touch of chaos—just a tad challenging to get the hang of it, but once you do, it's quite satisfying to catch those flies and get to them. 🪰
The background music is genuinely beautiful, and the art evokes a somewhat melancholic, yet samurai-like vibe. It's quite impressive.
I looove it but it's haaaard. I've lost three times on the final wave of the bamboo level. I may try again this evening. This may be my favorite LD56 game so far.
Great great job.

This is a really great game! I loved the art and all the mechanics. Respect for the game design—everything is perfect here. It was truly engaging!
The game is so nice! And hard xD I loved the visuals and the mechanics. Will try to finish it =D
Oh yeah, this is the superior frog game! :frog: Love the art and the music, it's a really nice style!
Вначале хотел сказать, что тут хороший медитативный геймплей. Но бляха муха игра сложная. Нужно постоянно следить за окружением и рассчитывать, как прыгнет твоя жабка. Отличная работа, в любом случае, я даже залип на какое то время:)

Well, i've spent 30min on it and it's way more than most games of LD I think, it's FUN and it's also super FRUSTRATING haha, I really like the japanese / paper graphics, the calm music and the animations, really polished game and it's satisfying to play. But that last (last ? the 49 one) level is killing me, everything is super simple at first but it's long, and when the real difficulty start (the last swarm) it feels almost impossible and I cannot really train on it since it takes way too long to get there. I think I would prefer shorter levels but with only the challenging parts. (It's like the level before the 49, I basically just sat there doing nothing till I catch 8 and then starting moving to avoid the double firefly). A bit frustrated I could'nt finish (maybe I need to speedrun the last level to keep my supertongue till the last swarm? couldn't manage that either) but really good game well played !

Quite hard but enjoyed playing it. I would say sometimes hitboxes are not perfectly matching the visuals but that's fine. Some levels are difficult but as it's the same pattern repeating over and over we can learn from deaths. Art, sounds, music all fits well and we're "in the game". Nice entry!
Хорошая игра, но пожалуй слишком сложная для меня) Застрял на уровне с красными стрекозами. Визуальный стиль отличный, очень приятная игра

I was surprised with amount of content for this, interesting mechanics but it's hard. I thing I did not like was that the music was too calm for the struggle. I was expecting some cozy game looking at the haiku in the description screenshots and listening to music. But it feels like a nearly complete game, a little bit of polish here and there and you can release it. Very nice game jam entry
this artstyle suits the theme so well that i'm a little surprised it didnt occur to me! i've never seen it done before and it translated really well. also, bonus points for cute frog.

I lived long enough / To see one firefly appear / Then I died again
I loved it ! I haven't managed to finish yet, but I'm not giving up. I'll try again. It's hard, but enjoyable, thanks to the graphics and sound that are more than convincing, bravo ! I really appreciated the game mechanics too. With my crew, the difficulty led us to share our scores on your game haha, so that's cool. Well done again!
I thought the game was really fun. I liked that it was one simple mechanic both for platforming and eating. However I did find the platforming very hard and non-intuitive. I could not get past the unkillable bug , that was too hard for me. Trying to get somewhere was hard enough but I could manage after a few tries. Having to move from platform to platform constantly while evading the bug was too hard for me. I also agree with some previous comment that the chill music does not fit the brutal gameplay. Aside from that the music was nice and the graphics were cute. Good job overall!
I found the frog challenging to control but, at the same time, there was quite a bit of fun in whipping around on your tongue. Everything seems super polished and complete.
I loved the painted art style as well. Well done!

Wow, the general mood is amazing. The movement dynamics remind me so much of Worms' ninja ropes which were so much fun to play with back then :D Great artwork, music, gameplay. Will definitely come back playing more as soon as I'll have more time!
@pomo Hi Pomo! Yes, I think we'll release a postjam version by wednesday.
The graphics are pretty and poetic. Somehow this game reminds me of the frog go on travelling game that was popular a while ago. It's a little bit hard for me but it's still a really good experience. I think the art strike a good balance between leaving emptiness vitually like that in a Chinese ink painting at the same time make the assets big enough for players to see and aim clearly. I can definitely see the potential of its development if there's for time for refinement.

Guys, game is awesome! One of my favourite from this jam. Reminds me an old game called Wik :older_man: And music so atmospheric.
P.S. Realised about music  P.S.1 Game is very hard
@pomo We did it. Now we have a post-jam version with endless survival mode and leaderboard AND hooking the floor.
So Yase-gaeru is ready for Score Chasers (if it's not too late).

@alexascher It is unfortunetly a bit too late! Voting ended about 9 hours ago, but I'll still play it after were done with the tournament!
@pomo Oh, that's a pity. We had little time because of our main work, so we delayed the update. But now we know how to create leaderboards in games (this was our first experience). And we might release a few more updates later, since we have a post-jam version.
We’ll be waiting to see your result on the leaderboard! Good luck!

The mood is awesome! Well done, it's so difficult to implement a hook in a video game. I like your art, and the gameplay is simple but very cool.
