At first I thought: "Well how difficult can a >Where is Waldo< type game be for a game jam. But I actually took a decent amount of time in most levels. It's quite fun and reminiscent of old gems you would find on online flash game sites. The bugs designs are superb, loved the creative variations and overall vibe of them (:
Awesome team coorporation for you & your daughter to fisnish a LD challenge!
Lovely little game, I like the family co-op you did! Visually cohesive style and interesting variations in bug types.
The sound effects were ear piercing, at least for me. Not a fan of them.
Good work!
@dogesquad - Thanks! We started knowing it was a simple concept, but realised the difficulty was more than we thought (in a good way). My daughter was over the moon hearing your feedback on her bug designs.
@xlores-liang - It's fun doing these with her. Her being in a drawing mood made it easy for us to agree how she can join in.
@coderaurus - Sorry about the audio. First time using BFXR and only after reading your comment made me realise I should have tested it with headphones.
Simple game, fun to play but honestly, the art stands out for me. I LOVE the bug designs! :D Fun to noodle with. Nice work!
The bug designs are amazing. I really felt like I was touching grass, thank you :joy:
I am so glad there's no timer or lives in this game because I was really not good at it  It was surprisingly challenging. I think the hand-drawn aesthetic was really great and probably added to the difficulty in pattern matching. A simple game but well made. Good work!
Cool game idea, but not enough hearts. When you click on the wrong bug, a sound is played, but also could have taken away a heart (for example). But as part of a one person jam, it's a good game. I give it an 8/10, as I personally missed the music in the game and the hearts

The bugs art is just great! I love how crazy shapes, colors and decorations they have. It add a lot of soul to the game! My suggestion would be to make game a bit more challenging, probably the easiest way to do it would be to make bugs move around (or add a timer, so player have limited time to find bugs). Anyway, good job with the game!
Oooh, I love this type of game. They are always a good way to relax for me which is why I appreciate that there is no way to fail here.
Also really love that it's a team cooperation with your daughter. Her bug designs are awesome <3
Some chill music or just some nature sounds would have been a nice addition :)
Haha read your sound warning too late and got blasted XD - fun little buggies, simple design, might need some more elements to boost the fun-o-meter up a bit :)
A very simple game, but it seems to me it would not hurt to change the sound when you find someone or make it quieter by adding some simple music to the background, it just really hurts the ears and scares at the first click

Lovely game, kudos to your daughter! Can I suggest a post-jam version with countdowns based on a mix of game level and difficulty level?

Your daughter did such a good job with the bug designs -- the head/middle/end components are all so creative and unique, it makes for a really good search!
You wrote the audio is not pleasant, but I would argue the sounds themselves aren't bad, just the volume for the "correct/incorrect bug" is a little too loud compared to the softer "level select click". Assuming you're calling `PlayOneShot`, you can optionally specify an individual volume for each audio clip to even out the loudness, otherwise it defaults to blasting them at 100% volume. We figured out that hack a little too late during a previous jam :D
I noticed there's nothing that stops the player from clicking all the bugs without actually trying to look for the right ones. Perhaps allowing only a set number of incorrect clicks could counteract that.
I also really liked the grass photo background choice against the hand drawn bugs. Awesome job!

It can actually be very difficult to distinguish all of the different bugs when they are all stacked on top of one another in the later levels. This was solid entry, nice job.
