@sepjani unfortunately seems to crash in both Firefox and Edge (page won't load).
try webgl or win build on https://vstrucovski.itch.io/the-offering-well
Hi! Nice work! I liked the animations and particles. The well mechanic feels a bit off sometimes, but other than that, nice entry!
On Android and on Linux (in webgl), I only see a very bright version of it, so I don't see enemies, only the well and the coins. The Android version is on a tablet and the browser is very new, so I'm not sure why it doesn't work properly. That's a shame, because it looks pretty nice on screenshots.
I like the visuals and how the game works, feels a bit repetitive at times.
Pretty solid game concept, the bloom is a little aggressive but that's fine. Needs some visual difference between Tier 0 and Tier 1 units cause I kept trying to merge them with it failing. Might just be a bug since the other tiers seem fine with their indicators but T0 and T1 both look the same to me.
Super pretty game, I love the juxtaposition of antialiased ui, bloomy lights, and low-rez-rendered model/mini polys. Like others, I needed to play the windows version to get it going, but once I switched over it was well worth the effort -- a lot of fun!
I think I did break it just a little bit in the end by accumulating a ton of troops directly on top of the well, but it was so fun to watch the arrows fly I wasn't even bothered.
Thanks for sharing your game!
Nice game
@bashem Don’t you like buying towers by dropping coins? 😄
@lordsheo thx that found windows build :) visual difference can be game changer, cz honestly, I confused by a lot same models too
@tiar can't say a lot about web builds, my first try with it. but in chrome and firefox I dont have post processing and shadow at all. have you tried web wersion from itch.io (its same archive)
@bearcage Yeah, it's a really interesting theme to explore — using super smooth UI with low-res 3D. By “breaks,” do you mean no new waves are spawning?
thx for playing!
good idea, nice characters, looks cool
@sepjani sorry, by "Break" I just meant I had gotten out ahead of the difficulty curve a bit.
Specifically, when new tokens spawn, if they don't get booped out to the side of the well and stay on top, they can mass up there. When that happens, they're able to fire out without hitting each other, which reduces the incoming damage pressure on my tokens to just damage-from-baddies, so by the last 3 waves I had an insurmountable advantage over the incoming baddies.
Finally got a chance to play the Windows version. Really nice - amazing that you were able to create all of this. I hit some of the same gameplay elements that other commenters did, but I felt like the interactivity, the UI, the models, the gameplay of it - it all really worked together to create a cohesive experience that definitely deserves to be developed further.
As a jam game/prototype it's extremely successful and I appreciated the message at the end! Congratulations on finishing and thanks for playing and commenting on Deep Bat Rage! :)
Woah, super nice aesthetic! I got a little confused in it as I was playing it but figured it out! Nicely made!
@bearcage @shadow64 thx for playing! the difficulty curve is definitely off — I made it way too easy just so it’s possible to reach the win screen for now. Appreciate your patience even without challenge :)
i like this
I finished your game. Your idea was to place your units in the right order for greater efficiency. But halfway through the game, I noticed that if you don't remove units from the well, they stack up in a doom stack and don't hit themselves with friendly fire. So by the end of the game I had a machine gun in the center of the fountain)).
Also, to flesh out the unit placement mechanics, you could add melee units, like shieldmen and swordsmen. Maybe make them ghostly so that projectiles fly through them
The game could definitely use some sound effects, and ambient. Overall good work

@neeck-kola you’ve unlocked nuclear energy tech in my game :) thanks for playing! I’m surprised how many people get their units stuck on the well — when I played it, they just killed each other 😄
@heat watching the machine gun go brrrr is so satisfying — now I’m thinking if I should polish it up for a proper release and if so, I’ll definitely fix that hack
It definitely has to be tuned a little bit to give the player the feeling that they're having an impact on the game. Right now, I could just spam bring coins to the well until I eventually win. I think some more time before waves where you could strategize and collect the gold laying on the floor would be nice. I see the direction the game is going, though, and it looks like there's some fun ideas. Well done!
Cool mood and cool concept! It might need a bit more balance, but all the bases of a great game are here. Nice job!
love the graphics.
Effects are amazing, getting the UI and (shaders?) to do this alone over a jam is v. impressive - could maybe do with a difficulty tweak pass, but I had a great time
Looks stunning!!! Shame there’s no sound or music — I think that’d amp up the emotions! Really cool job! Good luck!
