@shaolin-dave Thanks for the review! Looking back, I definitely do think it should be a little lighter. Someone gave a great idea of having an upgrade for your light, but it was too late to implement by that point. The grappling hook definitely was a bit wonky, wish I had had a little more time to work with it, but getting just the base logic for it turned out to be quite the challenge.
@superpokeunicorn Thanks for the feedback! I was considering putting it on right click, but I think my previous experience playing Terraria (which has a grappling hook bound to E), ended up biasing me a bit. Next time if time permits I'll add options for those things.
Really great style, and fun gameplay. I really loved the overall feel!
Cute art style, particularly liked the alien space ship.
Absolutely love the style, the game looks gorgeous
Like the idea of having to get just the right amount of enemies get through
First came when the link wasn't working, but came back and glad I did. Really great environment, enjoyed the Ludum Dare jokes maybe a little too much.
Loved the art for the Gods!
Good level of difficulty. Maybe it's just me, but I got a vague feeling of Robotron when I played.
OMG THAT SOUNDTRACK
This game was a lot of fun, and just at the right difficulty. Made it to level 4. I think the game is really most fun with the knife.
Simple and fun, enjoyed the driving mechanics.
That's an insane amount of content you packed into just 72 hours of development! First time playing an RPG Maker game. Enjoyed it!
Enjoyed it, one of the more fun games this Jam IMO. Reminds me of Titan Souls (maybe that's what it was based off of?)
Enjoyed the game, nice variation of skills. Simple but effective fights.
Interesting take on the theme!
Coin management is an interesting mechanic.
Pretty novel use of the theme. Can't remember the name, but reminds me of a flash game I used to play all the time as a kid.
One of the few great uses of the theme, very creative.
10/10 graphics
I was a little confused at first, but once I figured it out, it was a good mix of fun, challenging, and interesting.
I saved 13. Love the pixel physics, and while the walking is super janky, there is still something that I like about the walking physics. It's very unique. I don't know what exactly this game would become, but it feels like this would be a great template to expand from.
Loved the shader and overall graphics. Was very fun, but could use a little balancing. The slug was OP! I did have the problem of quickly running out of PP with no way to recover it (I imagine I just didn't find the right item).
@paul-maxime Thanks for the tip on the thread support, gonna try that and see if it fixes the problem
Very nice and relaxing. I got up to the iron fire before I stopped, but I had a lot of fun. Absolutely love the art style and general vibes. I'm very curious how you got the walk animation working, whether is was hand drawn or programmed. No clue how you finished this in 72 hours lol
Had fun, it's hard not to with pinball. Got up to ~2000 score. It seems like the game goes on forever so I stopped after that. I did have a 4 in-a-row streak of going straight from a new ball to the gutter without a chance to hit the ball. I wonder if that has to do with how the layout is designed or if I was just unlucky. Would be cool to add a set number of lives so you can compare scores with others.
Made me think a lot, loved the idea and a lot of fun! Loved Herman.
Love the hand drawn art. The stacking mechanics are also fun. I love how you can climb straight up the side of walls and sometimes cling to the ceiling if you tap space fast enough. Not sure if that was an intended mechanic, but overall fun!
This game caught me off guard with how good it was. The difficult was scaled just perfect so that I had just enough time to learn the basic mechanics before being faced with a real challenge. The art style, music, and UI also all come together to form a very coherent vibe. It all feels like it belongs together, not like it was thrown together in a few days for a game jam.
This game is absolutely diabolical... and I love it. Love how the recipes are posted around the room, and the tutorial tells you just enough to let you figure the rest out for yourself.
When I saw the tiny creatures theme I thought everyone would go for something where you are controlling a bunch of tiny creatures because who doesn't want to have hundreds of tiny creatures under your control. Surprisingly, this is the first one I've seen other than my own game. Love how it progressively zooms out as the scale of the horde grows.
A funny concept and great 2D artwork. Ran into a bug where I froze after jumping on the trampoline.
The sound effects lmao. Simple but fun. I ramped up gnome production and economy early before dumping into stats.
Got up to 5530. A classic formula, but its a classic that is very fun.
My favorite game so far! I maxed out movement speed, shooting speed, and eating speed before I died. The soft body physics for eating and over vibes looking through the microscope were all great touches.
A couple things that could have been better: - The game auto fullscreened on my second monitor and I couldn't move it - I would have liked to shoot by just holding down the click button even before maxing out shooting, as 2 levels of shooting was pretty tiring on my finger.
Very cute, loved the art and visual story telling. I think the game would have been a bit more fun if there was a way to fail, perhaps either with a time limit, a penalty for giving the wrong type of shoes, or both.
