Good physics in the player gg.
This game is awesome! I love the whole vibe and I'm so curious how you animated the amoeba. The difficulty is rough though, maybe tone down the spawn rate a bit. I'd absolutely play this if it were a whole game though, reminds me a lot of Flow.
I love the microscopic view and the dynamics of the player! I think music would really set the tone for the game. Also, I was a bit confused about what all the player was doing when it was processing. UI elements would be useful.
My favorite game so far! I maxed out movement speed, shooting speed, and eating speed before I died. The soft body physics for eating and over vibes looking through the microscope were all great touches.
A couple things that could have been better: - The game auto fullscreened on my second monitor and I couldn't move it - I would have liked to shoot by just holding down the click button even before maxing out shooting, as 2 levels of shooting was pretty tiring on my finger.
I survived long enough for there to be so many enemies that the game framerate slowed to a stop :joy_cat:
The Shop is a little bit buggy at the later stages, and it would be good to give visual cues to what the thing is you are buying, without having to hover over it. I really liked the Cell implementation the movement and the mechanic to get coins is really interesting and fun.
Conceptually this is a really great game. The idea behind it is great and the core gameplay mechanic is really cool. I really enjoyed the physics behind the player controller, and moving around inside the cell is a great idea. The only thing is that the execution in some parts felt a bit lacking, most notably the explanations for the player and the framerate issues. It seems you linked your motion with Time.deltaTime rather than Time.fixedDeltaTime, so when the framerate goes down you start to slow down a lot. This seems pretty unfair, as the framerate drops substantially when there are a lot of enemies chasing you. Also, some visual indication that the red blobs are bad to eat and the green ones are good would have been helpful for me. Overall though, great concept and pretty decent execution!
Thanks for the review. I actually wanted to repair most of the stuff but I didn't have time. There are 2 more enemy types but their ai was too buggy and I barely uploaded this. Hopefully next time I will manage the time better. xD
I love the mechanics of this game. The structure of cells is a great concept, and the game also restores endocytosis and exocytosis very well--There is a certain delay when eating and getting hurt. It can be said that the theme is perfectly expressed! Great!
It seems this is the end :) изображение_2024-10-09_030127473.png
Good game, nice design, responsive controls, clear leveling system. The only minor flaws were the lack of background music and sounds. I would also slightly extend the difficulty curve.
Microwars captures the thrill of microscopic survival perfectly! As a bacterium surrounded by viruses, you evolve and adapt with every upgrade. The fast-paced gameplay and strategic choices keep you hooked and wanting more!
somewhat enjoyed the gameplay but I actually loved the style and post-processing effects that you added to the game! Great work!
In this game i fill myself like mini skywoker
Well, the game got me hooked for 30 minutes, pretty cool.
Amazing! The physics make it feel very immersive and it looks very beautiful. Upgrades are fun to get.
I liked the in and out of focus. Great game. I think some simple imperfect sounds would have been better than none at all.
Really fun game, watching the microbe move was very fun to watch and the roguelike aspects of the game are a personal favorite of mine! This is the type of game I would play while I am just relaxing. Only thing it lacks is sound but I believe it still was wonderful as is it is now!
Very fun to play, well done! I took me some time figuring out where the shop icon was (I wasn't expecting it to be directly on the help screen), and if food was the green or the red little spheres, but after that it went smoothly! Getting the upgrades sped the game up a lot and it was very satisfying to run and shoot very fast xD In one of my attempts, at one point I couldn't ingest any more, although I only had 3 grey spheres in the cell body, and the capacity to eat viruses. I don't know what happened, but it prevented me from getting more upgrades this particular run.
The cell physics really makes the player feel like a single cell. The post processing also looks great.
@cliva Haha, it looks like I'm not the only one who found myself in a similar situation :)
excellent entry! super good feeling for the movement and overall feel of the microbe, super impressed! im not sure how would I even approach creating something like this - very nice! I love the eating feel, absorption, the attacking viruses trying to breach my barrier - very nice. overall look & feel is also excellent - a cherry on top that I missed was some nice minimal audio design.
I would def like a game fleshing out this concept. Micro Wars Vampire Survivors soon?
Super nice entry, happy that I got to play this!!!
I liked drifting with this bacteria, the controls are cool!
I’m really impressed with the game’s thematic depth and its polished art style. God Job!
Sadly this game does not have music. I love the gameplay and the concept behind. The controls are smooth and the goal is clear. I collects around 15 gold but there are too many virus and the game lags a bit which somehow influences the late game. I will definitely praise this game.
absolutely love how the physics simulates in this game!
Great work! The game is nice, good visuals, and it is an very interesting idea for ludum theme. I like the minimalism and imagination of your game!
Very nice. I was a bit confused at times of how much I had evolved. Really like the microscope view.
