LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Chanterune by Kerdelos 2024-10-08T14:25:09Z

This is one of the best games I’ve played on this site! The unique mechanics, which I’ve never seen before, and the well-thought-out level design deserve praise. However, I think the boss fight feels a bit out of place. The fight itself is fine, but the human boss doesn't quite fit the game's style, even though it's well-designed. Please keep going; I'm sure the game has great potential! :fire:

@tyrannas Oh, sorry I didn’t realize that earlier. In that case, it’s funny that a mushroom attacked the poor old man for collecting singing mushrooms.

Mouse House by johnnysix 2024-10-08T14:14:42Z

The best game I've come across in the last 24 hours! Fun animations, engaging gameplay, and pleasant music and graphics. 10/10 :fire: :fire: :fire:

An Itsy Bitsy RPG by Bobap 2024-10-09T10:50:35Z

One of the few games that has no flaws. The mechanics are original, I haven’t seen anything like it before. I had a lot of fun playing it and got hooked for a full 20 minutes. Keep up the great work! Wishing you success!

BotBot's Tiny Turbo Race by oliveiragsg 2024-10-08T00:12:08Z

> [Played the game for a total of 20 minutes]

It took some effort to install the game. And wow, nearly 3 GB? Seriously? I wonder what makes the game so heavy. When I first launched the game, my initial reaction was, *“Oh God! My eyes!”* — and not in the best way. Sure, the visuals are very vivid and colorful, but on my computer, they appeared extremely grainy. Also, it seems like this game has high system requirements! My fairly powerful PC had to work hard for me to enjoy the game.

The first 5 minutes were spent getting used to the controls. After that, I managed to drive 2 km at high speed without much trouble, but I quickly got bored. I set a personal goal to reach 5 km, which was quite difficult since the robot frequently spun out of control. I couldn't quite adapt to the resizing mechanic. Once I hit 5 km, I was really bored and decided to close the game.

The music is nice and not too annoying. However, the bright visuals made my eyes hurt after a while.

Leafkin Quest by Ethernal Tech 2024-10-13T11:54:22Z

Dude, it amazes me how you can do something like that on GameMaker alone 🤯 . Your game impressed me, I spent 30 minutes of my life on it and I don't regret it.

**Strengths of your game:** - Graphics - everything is done in a uniform style, and the style itself is pleasing to the eye. Gorgeous!!! - Variety of enemies and levels - yes, there aren't many types of enemies, but they don't get boring so quickly. - And the levels seem to be procedurally generated, which is very good! - Variety of mechanics - if you figure out how to combine them properly, you can become a skilful dude in this game :sunglasses: - Sound effects - feel like an integral part of the game

**Not the strongest points:** - Lack of music - it is woefully lacking - Lack of a store - you have coins, but nowhere to spend them.

I'm sure that all the shortcomings are only due to lack of time, after all, this is Ludum Dare! A lot of work has been done, I want you not to abandon your game, it has great potential!

Leafkin Quest by Ethernal Tech 2024-10-13T11:58:12Z

I was wondering how far I could go  Bottom line: level 8 and 347 coins And then I got bored  LeafkinQuest.png

Rummaging Raccoon by LucaVazz 2024-10-08T13:27:35Z

The game really lacks an in-game explanation of the controls. It unfolds very slowly, the controls aren't intuitive, and the font is too small. But overall, it's a good game, with pleasant graphics and music. Most importantly, the core message — promoting the green movement — is excellent. My respect!

@avi I spent some time just before the start of the game before making this design, and afterward just adjusted the automaton so that certain ones would stop spawning mobs. It's not the best tactic, but it definitely works

Wet Worm Works by RefraX295 2024-10-08T11:26:53Z

I’m not sure if this can be called a full-fledged game, but as an ecosystem simulator, it’s a good project.

**English:**

Guys, I couldn’t play your game properly. After all, Figma is not a game engine; you should consider transferring your work to something like Ren'Py, and it would be great if it could be playable directly in the browser. But as far as I can tell, you have some beautiful artwork. Don’t give up on your creativity, and I wish you success in all your endeavors!

Fuzzies Don't Know What to Do! by AllenW 2024-10-08T00:53:42Z

Definitely giving a 5 for "Innovation"!

**Upd:** It's 4 AM right now, and my brain isn't working well. But I've bookmarked the game because I really want to finish it. Great job, guys!

Tiny Spore by Digol 2024-10-08T11:37:34Z

@dimasoff It seems to me that it’s not just similar, it’s an outright clone.

Hive Havoc by Tkap1 2024-10-08T01:39:39Z

I planned to play for just 5 minutes, but ended up sticking around for 20. Dude, your game is awesome! And the fact that it's on a custom engine in C++ — that's truly impressive!

Night of Yurei by Mathkarma 2024-10-08T01:09:44Z

This is unplayable. The game lags heavily on my powerful computer.

DR.SPIDER by Michael Li 2024-10-08T14:54:09Z

A little spider broke my computer, so I went to bed. And that’s how it goes every day.

DR.SPIDER by Michael Li 2024-10-08T14:57:03Z

At the very beginning of the game, the player can go left and fall into a pit, but the game doesn’t restart. I had to refresh the page.

Proto Deus by cliva 2024-10-08T12:48:16Z

@brunoklipel Thank you for the game! We will definitely take your feedback :robot:

Proto Deus by cliva 2024-10-09T15:16:15Z

@webberiel Thank you for your feedback! We're aware of all the issues you pointed out and you're right, we didn't have time to polish the game before the gameplay ended. For example, the beautiful right-click explosions were just a way to test if they worked. The programmer forgot to remove that feature, but it's probably for the best

We plan to finalize the game a bit, fix bugs, add new ones and post a post-jam version on this page. If you want, we can notify you when it comes out

Proto Deus by cliva 2024-10-11T11:00:13Z

@nazariglez Thanks for playing! We took into account the feedback from players and released a separate post-jam version - *h**t**t*ps://*clivawolf.itch.io/proto-deus-postjam*. We plan to release a new version with new content in the next week. We will try to surprise you :)

We are waiting for new comments!

 Thanks to your concerned feedback we have released a **post-jam** version of our game, where we fixed most of the bugs we found and added new ones (the link to the game can be found in the links section). We don't ask you to change your evaluation based on the new version, but you liked the game and we decided to please you with a slightly improved version. We will be very glad if you comment on the post-jam version, but please don't forget to specify in your comment that you are commenting on the post-jam version.

> P.S. We did not change the tank control on purpose, after all it is a unique mechanic of the game, although it seemed to many players uncomfortable > May fortune smile upon you, `Proto Deus Team`

Living by Tritax711 2024-10-08T12:42:14Z

Great reference to *Hollow Knight* and stunning pixel art at the end, but otherwise, it's hard to call this a game.

Maze Bat by oliver_day 2024-10-09T11:03:58Z

For a game made solo, this is a very decent result. I like your ASCII style. Respect from me!

Worm Eats Apples by Azimiro 2024-10-08T12:09:35Z

I was lucky to have a friend nearby to play this game with. At first, we didn’t like it: the worms are too slow, the map is small, and the gameplay is quite basic. But after playing for 5 minutes, we gradually started to uncover the game's potential. I managed to trap my friend's worm, so he couldn't reach the apple :) I’m not sure if it’s a bug or a feature, but at some point, a part of the body just fell off and stayed on the ground, not attached to any worm. Fun game!

A tip for the future: make the worms different colors to avoid confusion. Add some music. And don’t abandon the game — it has great potential!

Tiny Tale by Gimodor12 2024-10-08T00:30:49Z

It took me about 10 minutes to finish the game, which is a comfortable playtime for me. The game left a very positive impression on me! The hand-drawn graphics are pleasant, and the music really sets the mood. I'm not very good at English, but it seems like your game makes learning it quite convenient! There's humor in the game, although it might not perfectly match the overall atmosphere. Still, it made me smile a couple of times :)

**Thanks to the entire development team; you've made a wonderful game! Good luck, and may the best one win!**

Micro Wars by Zyppi 2024-10-09T18:44:07Z

@cliva Haha, it looks like I'm not the only one who found myself in a similar situation :)

Fear Unbound by duca.ad 2024-10-08T01:04:37Z

The artwork is beautiful. However, I couldn't properly play the game — after finishing the maze, nothing happened. I guess I'll never find out how the story continues :(

juki advanture by ShoniDP 2024-10-08T11:48:12Z

This is unplayable. It's unclear what are traps and what aren't. The player's speed is uncomfortable. I didn't like it.

Frog's Bedtime Story by Biene.maja 2024-10-08T00:41:15Z

Guys! You have beautiful screenshots in the description, but I can't play your game — it's broken. All I could do was get to this location. It seems like you didn't have enough time to finish the game :(

Frog's Bedtime Story by Biene.maja 2024-10-08T13:53:08Z

@00-madz I’ll definitely give it a try a little later.
