Love it

Cute game. Like the theme, the art style reminds me of little big planet or something like this.
However I tried so hard to make a robot for automation but I couldn't do it ðŸ˜. After so much rummaging I had so much in my C.A.T B.O.X. but still no dice  . Perhpas some instructions of what you need to make a robot to speed up the process would go a long way
@rum-ham ah! thank you, thats a super good point, you unlock the robots by picking up cartridges you can find lying around but we never added any dialog explaining that!! We'll add that to the game description now ^-^
The game looks promising, but lack of any sort of instructions just kills it, sorry. I've spent ten minutes recycling garbage and wondering if I'm doing something wrong. Then I found a cartridge under one of the heaps, got hopeful, built a monkey and... it did nothing. Just hopped up and down behind the box. Went through all nearby heaps, didn't find another cartridge, made ten more useless monkeys and quit the game. But I like the idea of the game!
Thank you all for your feedback so far :love_letter:
We've just added a little tutorial to the game description to explain the mechanics. Unfortunately we were unable to add it in-game in time :/
@patomkin There is a cartridge hidden under the scrap north of C.A.T.-B.O.X. to unlock building rats, which collect the scrap so that the monkeys can salvage it. Unfortunately the monkeys only work on scrap which was collected by rats, not on scrap which ruby the raccoon collected - so sorry for the confusion.
@lucavazz thank you very much for the tip! I've managed to clear everything with ease and got 50% progress in the catbox, whatever that means :D
The game really lacks an in-game explanation of the controls. It unfolds very slowly, the controls aren't intuitive, and the font is too small. But overall, it's a good game, with pleasant graphics and music. Most importantly, the core message — promoting the green movement — is excellent. My respect!
The game is cool, but at the beginning, you have to dig around for a long time (unless you cheat by just stacking items at your feet). Then the game starts to pick up speed and ends quite quickly; when I collected all the cartridges upon entering the CATBOX, the game ended with a WebGL context error.
If you don't count the first 3 minutes of gameplay, the game plays lively, but it feels like there's no challenge; it quickly reaches a "god mode" moment.
But it is indeed an interesting project!
Interesting game, I definitely enjoyed most of it. Here are some issues I found: - the onboarding is really rough, since there's no kind of tutorial (and to be honest, the one you gave here didn't reeeally make me understand the game loop aswell) - You can pick up and salvage scrap from anywhere in the world, as long as you can see it (I think that's not intended is it? :D) - I cleaned 2 whole piles and was confused as to what I'm supposed to do with the scrap once I've fed it to the catbox. Then I found a cartridge underneath the 3rd pile and was like "aah now I can craft something", but either it's buggy and I can't craft the Rat, or I just don't get the crafting UI... It's super pretty and I love the art style though!
Edit: Oooh I found a tiny tiny check box next to the Rat in the crafting menu haha. I think something might have gone wrong with the responsiveness of UI elements  Also, again idk if it was buggy for me, but there were no sound effects & music at all right? Would've definitely added a lot to the experience.
This all sounds kinda negative, but keep in mind it's just all the problems I found and the challenges I had going in. It's a super cute little game and was fun once I understood the mechanics!
@mullenratte Thanks for your detailed feedback 💌
We added a full dynamic soundtrack to the game, so it's unfortunate that you didn't get to hear it :/ On which platform and with what browser did you play the game?
Nice game. The buildup is good, if a bit unclear within the game itself, but I like how searching for blueprints encourages you to walk around from time to time. My favourite part is how the physics of the creatures (the bouncing, slowing down) makes it feel like a bustling and organic hive of activity. I am not sure whether it is possible to get past 99% progress, I tried twice.
Love the paper style and all the UI animation <3
@lucavazz Oh wow, it's a shame I didn't get to hear any of it. I was playing on Chrome (PC) over on your itch page. I'll definitely try again in a different browser today and adjust my feedback!
Is their a win screen? I stopped after I got all the piles. Super fun game. I like the theme of using scraps to build robots. This game feels like it has a lot of content for a jam game. Screenshot 2024-10-09 001218.png
Thank you for your feedback @the-quinnzite-mushroom 💌
There is indeed a win screen - in your screenshot you can see that some butterfly bots are still hard at work :) Once all plants are all grown up there is a win screen.
Loved the art style and the concept of turning scrap into robots! The gameplay was engaging, but the text felt a bit small when not in fullscreen (especially on retina displays). Gj!
Nice game,very interesting plot!!!!Nice job!!!!
Nice game! Really liked the nice papery UI. A bit hard to figure out what to do at first, but very nice.
Super cute game! I really love the visuals and the idea of building robots. There is so much content for a jam!!
Couldn't find any cartridge after looking around for a good 6 minutes, then the workbench got stuck in an unusable state with an already-processed piece of scrap on top of it...
