Pretty happy with my 1400 meters travelled. Menu is very clean and the driving feels surprisingly good. I wish the "bright" lights feature was better and I could better tell how close the cops are to catching me. Quite fun, one of the better submissions. Even had a cinematic!
I like all the little effects like the blood splatter. There were a few times where I was clicking fast and accidentally was able to choose a card without seeing them first. Also I kept getting negative buffs. Good job!
Good adaptation of the theme! It was a little hard to adjust to the ball spawning in the middle and the score text on my first play though was really tiny (fixed on a refresh). Good work :)
I love the art and effects in this! Took me quite a few tries but I finally beat it, I had a great time. Not much to complain about really, although reading if the enemy projectiles are going to hit you in 3D mode is a bit challenging. Super cool perspective shift though :)
It's entertaining :) It seems like I did have some issues where I couldn't move left or right anymore after about 60 seconds.
Liked the art, although the enemies can get kind of hard to read against the background (which had some cool fractal effects). Some sounds when shooting and destroying enemies would go a long way as well. Good job!
I love this idea. Pretty fresh take on the theme. For my run, I beat it with only 5 times back in time so mine was a little bugged I think, but I saw a play through on a stream and it looked really great.
Stressful! Enjoyed playing this and love the visuals. On my playthrough it seemed that the turret would fire more than 1 projectile within a 10 second period. Sometimes it would just shoot one, other times maybe three, I figure that's probably a bug. It also would be nice to have some feedback from the turret or something to indicate that it is about to shoot, rather than relying on watching the timer or the ring shrinking animation. Great entry :)
Great graphics. I love how it's a little board game with nice texture and little pieces laying off to the side. The actual gameplay I didn't really see how I could strategize much beyond just moving fire trucks in front of the fire and watch them put it out (it is a nice water animation though).
Simple and sweet. Good implementation. The web player ran a little slowly for me so it was hard to time the jumping over the cars. Loved the voiced sound effects.
I like this :), the art is simple but effective and the music track is great. I wish my (the dogs) hitbox was a little bigger or squarer or something cause the sheep easily slip off of me. Also at least on the embedded version my bark didn't seem to do anything. And it's more challenging than I expected!
Really like the art and the main character walking animation. Also I really enjoyed the music. I couldn't see the full screen so my health and other UI were cut off on the version I played. Also once I killed the first few enemies, nothing else would happen and all I could do was run around. My weapon didn't change every 10 seconds. Definitely would player another jam game of yours!
@wheybags thanks for pointing this out, bummer it didnt show on the build, but glad you tried it on the web version!
@defilerzero thanks! yeah good note, thats definitely a glaring issue that we should have fixed earlier
@walaber this sort of mechanic (and improved collision with tiles) would go a long way for improving game feel, definitely noted. thanks!
Thanks everyone for the great feedback! :D
@bravelytyped Thanks, a lot of good points. You're right that the air meter is quite hard to read, it would have been better if we drew more attention to it. I've thought about adding a red flash to the air meter when you take damage to convey hit information, and the hitbox for one of the enemies is definitely too big! A quick reset is also sorely needed, I agree.
@chocolat-endive I hadn't heard of Aquaria but it does look great with a similar vibe! Yeah we went back and forth of that but settled on it being kind of fun to have some situations where its just a suicide mission for "loot". We didn't wanna make the game more annoying than it already can be haha. Thanks for the feedback!
@harry-alissavakis Thanks again for playing on stream, we liked how it spawned a discussion of good game design principles. Next jam we definitely know now to leave more time to design levels.
@fiordarancio Thanks! Agree that there is too much time between initial drowning and respawn. Quick resets are good :)
@nardandas Definitely! The levels are a bit hard to read right now, particularly the last one. Hopefully you found the flippers which makes the enemies almost trivial, but you're right, without that "weapon" then playing around the enemies can be kind of slow and tedious. Thanks a lot, glad you kept exploring!
@merlinperlin That was intended, thanks for playing :)
@faust-mi Interesting reference, I didn't even know it existed. Also funny, on the wiki page that swimming level is specifically called out as a negative haha. Thanks for playing!
@raphiell @amberfall92 @redneb @chriswiseman Thanks everyone! :)
@defrag Thanks, that was definitely the intent! We were thinking of having upgrades to the breath limit but figured it'd go too much against the theme. I love all the old game references in here :)
My favorite submission so far. Ambiance is top notch and relaxing and I can play with 1 hand while I eat my bowl of food. Intuitive and fun, requires just enough thought. Wish I could play more levels!
Very cute. Loved the spinning mouse animation when he jumped. Definitely a hard game, I wasn't sure how to finish it. The death cards were chef's kiss.
Love the little guys, their sound effect is great, and it looks like they are wearing a sun hat. The upgrade menu pops up while shooting and it's super easy to randomly select the option where you're shooting.
Very cute game, I enjoyed the flushed out UI elements. The gameplay was confusing though, the creatures kept dying on me despite me interacting with them with what they wanted.
Adorable. Loved the music. It took me a minute to understand, but I got it. The arrow and little guys were generated in the same line together a little too often.
Loved the overall graphics and the lighting on the wisps. Wasn't sure how to combat enemies, there could have been more obstacles to collecting wisps.
This is a great game! Very simple mechanic and good game design! I'd play this in general.
Couldnt really play it at the source. looks interesting tho!
The art is nice and I enjoyed the music. The indicators above the cages are helpful, but it wasn't clear what my upgrades would do or when I would get more hamsters. I upgraded my water and then ran out of money until my hamsters died. Good stuff!
WhErE iS tHe GiRaFfe??? We got 4 people here looking for it and no on saw it hahaha.
I would play the hell out of this on my phone. Can I get an Android app??!! This was so much fun.
The art style was very clean, cool blend of 2d and 3d elements. It took a minute to figure out you were supposed to roll backwards. Increasing ball size and the blue ponds were not very clear.
I love the microscopic view and the dynamics of the player! I think music would really set the tone for the game. Also, I was a bit confused about what all the player was doing when it was processing. UI elements would be useful.
Great game. Fun. Simple. Maybe the character moved a tad fast but that also may help in setting the game difficulty. Great game!
Loved the RPG part, impressive amount of work to accomplish in one weekend! Couldn't figure out how to equip the weapons and was absolutely destroyed by goblins.
