Loved the overall graphics and the lighting on the wisps. Wasn't sure how to combat enemies, there could have been more obstacles to collecting wisps.

Omg this is amazing!
I really enjoyed the graphics and how the wisps are the only light-source throughout the map. It was very easy to pick-up and play, and the dialogue was engaging while not being too complex. Great game :D
Hey, I played your game! I mean where to start, did you guys do those assets all yourself? The pixel art was seriously amazing, was getting Sea of Stars vibes for some reason. Gameplay was fun but the art definitely shined. My only critique would be in the woods, maybe having a bit more visual clarity about where I shouldn't really try going, I ended up thinking there were paths were there wasn't and getting a bit lost.
Other than that, a great submission!
It's a very cool game, the style of play is just great. Well done)
i wouldve liked a little more interactivity/challenge, but i did appreciate it as a showcase of the artwork. absolutely stunning!
Awesome! It was sometimes a bit hard to navigate and to know where i could and couldn't go, but still pretty straightforward and well crafted level design to guide the player! well done!
Wow was all this drawn in the 72 hours? This is jaw-droppingly beautiful.
I got the feeling that I was playing a game not made in 72 hours, but something truly solid and not requiring polishing. It was really interesting to play, graphics, sounds, animation are all at the highest level, great job! Thank you for creating the Game
A really solid, polished entry, with great pixel art, dialogues and mood ! The first encounter with the giant moving tree was genuinely scary. Great job !
You are very talented people, the graphism are splendid and I really like the ambiance. I couldn't finish the game though, maybe it was a bug, but after I release the 5 buddies, nothing happened.
Another thing I found a bit sad is that you design beautiful NPC but they are a bit useless story wise.
Hope to see you on another jam !
Absolutely gorgeous game, remarkably polished! Some direction would have been nice after getting the first five (if you go north and then east from the northwest path, the “wilderness” circles neatly around the main hub) and my eyes sort of struggled with the darkness effect, particularly in the swamp (also had to rely entirely on sound to avoid the last enemy on the path back to the hub?)
All in all though, great music, great graphics, very cute ending - fantastic entry!
Very good graphics and nice atmosphere. The game itself is pretty simple but well served with all the work your provided on its realisation. Adding elements of contexts is a nice idea to thicken the universe but I admit I would have traded some to an additional game mechanic.
Good work.
Nice to see another Finnish game. I liked the art most of all and all the creatures. Overall, seems like a game that could have more levels or a sequel.
The first monster was a bit scary and I have to say that I hung a little too much with the crow in the safe spot. :laughing:
Very polished entry!
Graphics and audio are splendidly put together to create an immersive atmosphere. The lurking forest-monster invokes a sense of dread. Since there's no particular game-play -mechanics as of now it's essentially a walking-sim but nothing wrong with that.

I managed to find three wisps and the hidden crow. Plan to return and find the rest of 'em later!

Simulating light and shadow can be quite CPU-intensive, so I had a bit of a challenge running it on my **ancient hardware.** :potato:
I looked up Godot's [command-line](https://docs.godotengine.org/en/stable/tutorials/editor/command_line_tutorial.html) switches and tried different arguments. Managed to get it running in whopping 9-10 FPS at best on my trash-PC with some trickery :sweat_smile:
```java ./ld56-tiny-creatures.x86_64 --resolution 320x200 --display-driver x11 --rendering-driver opengl3 --rendering-method gl_compatibility --print-fps --verbose --delta-smoothing disable --windowed ```
Changing the **--rendering-method** to **gl_compatibility** made it (somewhat) playable on my device.
Here's a good [read](https://docs.godotengine.org/en/stable/tutorials/performance/gpu_optimization.html) if you're ever planning to port this to browser/mobile or otherwise interested in optimization.
If a game makes heavy use of simulated light it's guaranteed that there will be bottleneck-scenarios at some point!
PS. I ain't no hupiukko even though I found your hupialue.
Yay!
I bet it's an amazing game but sadly the mouse didn't work when I played so I only saw a few seconds of the game. What a shame. Even though it didn't work I want to follow this project is there an itch.io site?
What a nice and short story about finding these little guys. I never got caught by the enemies, so maybe they were a bit too easy to avoid but other than that it was a fun story! I don't know what the snail MC was there for but i liked him lmao. The pixelart was very well done great job guys!
Ps you should have 20 reviews now!!!
Holy, this is a banger! I had a lot of fun playing through it, this game has potential to go big like undertale or oneshot, one must hope you guys keep developing it and adding more zones and stuff! game so good I'd pay for it, absolutely magnificent work!
(also hello from the void)
I was very much immerged in the game. It was fun in this way. The last enemy in the marsh was hard to pass, I died several time, I think it's because we barely see it and we actually have to "walk on water" to see him properly and notice when he fades away. Then, the ending was a bit disappointing? There's this thing about the statue looking like us, the other statue the snail, and we don't even get back home :/ Still had quite some fun as I said, good job!
Wow the game looks amazing ! The map and the characters are really beautiful, you guys deserve more ratings !
Beatuiful art and mood, cute dialogue! It took me a while to figure out how to get into the swamp, but I managed to find all the wisps in the end. I hope you continue working on this, it feels like a great intro to a longer game.
Very cute and polished entry :) Great to see so much nice content together, it gives a simple but pleasant game ^^ Dialogs and characters were attaching, the forest monster was quite oppressive it almost gave me chills times I encountered him XD Cool visual and sounds, fun dialogs and a polished game loop, very cute game <3 well done !
