LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Well Down by CamCam 2021-04-27T13:46:21Z

Cool little game, I can see the effort put into this  I had trouble enjoying this, though, as the controls are a bit clanky. There was quite a lot of getting stuck in between tiles etc. Also, there are visual issues, like contrast between spikes and the background wall is not high enough, making it really hard to see where there are spikes. This made it sometimes frustrating as I couldn't always tell why I suddenly died

Out of Your Depth by nopogo 2021-04-27T13:28:34Z

Kind of fun timewaster  Bit slow as the upgrades feel quite expensive while their effects feel a bit indifferent (e.g. couldn't tell if the weight upgrade did anything or not). Some way of visualizing what upgrades I have bought could have been nice

Minet by Justine D 2021-04-27T13:31:53Z

Oddly catchy  Maybe not the most innovative game there is, but a fun little experience with a good bit of humor.

Deeper Understanding by detectiveLosos 2021-04-27T15:17:27Z

Great atmosphere, gives a good "wtf" feel! The "ending" is a bit confusing, but interesting game nonetheless!

Deeper and deeper by Wargont 2021-04-27T14:40:22Z

Seemed like a cool game, but I couldn't figure out where to find the key or how to get past the pallet

Just Photo Cat by RenatoL 2021-04-27T14:58:01Z

A fun little experience  Controls were a bit clanky at times, but all in all, I a had quite enjoyable little adventure!

Deep Sleep by Link270 2021-04-27T14:15:43Z

A very cool game of a serious topic! Great graphics and overall look and feel. Some of the puzzles were a bit confusing, but I enjoyed every bit of this short yet fantastic little story

Dig by Kenneth Wheadon 2021-04-27T12:54:14Z

What on earth did I just play :D Though I kind of dig it TBH

A cute tower defence game with a nice vibe. Great job!

Pitchfork Pandemonium by AndideBob 2024-04-16T15:10:19Z

A fun little autobattler, great job! <3

Fry'em the imps by bordonne 2024-04-17T18:27:49Z

A fun little puzzle!

Bestiarium by retrome 2024-04-17T18:24:21Z

A fun little puzzle game. A bit tedious towards the end when the number of ingredients grows (especially if/when you lose some of your harder to summon creatures). But I had fun playing through anyways, great job! <3

The Royal Writ by Save Sloth Studios 2024-04-18T22:52:13Z

Beautiful art and interesting mechanics! What a fun little game, great job! <3

Wizbbit by Angelino 2024-04-18T22:33:09Z

Took a while to figure out how to play, but fun idea and cute graphics. Good job! <3

A-BONE-mination by Erivas_Soulares 2024-04-20T14:31:07Z

Interesting concept and great execution! Very polished little puzzle-action game. Balance felt a bit on the easy/slow side, but that's ok for a jam game. Great job overall! <3

The Summoned Struggle: Tales of a Tag-Along Demon by MartenJ 2024-04-16T11:45:49Z

A fun little roguelite, great job! <3

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Dungeon Crawlers by Skyeward 2024-10-23T10:46:01Z

Very smooth jam game! Loved the squish animation at the end of the combat. Had fun playing, great job! <3

Florian the Tiny Hunter by Strega 2024-10-09T20:38:55Z

Wow! Looks gorgeous and the gameplay is solid. The start is a bit grindy, but that's ok in a Jam game. Love it! <3

BOULISH - straf'in the city by knarf 2024-10-23T10:20:36Z

A neat little platformer(?) game. Good job getting this much done in just 48h! Atmosphere was nice, although I had to crank up my screen brightness to see anything in a few spots. Stairs etc. were a bit janky, but that's more of a feature for a jam game. Great work! <3

Regenesis: Bacteria King by Synapse316 2024-10-23T10:31:53Z

A bit confusing, but cute visuals and a fun concept!

LD57 — Depths

Mirror City by vidarn 2025-04-12T20:50:59Z

A great puzzle game! Got stuck on the second puzzle for a good while, due to misunderstanding the placement rules at first, but once I got past that, it was a really fun little puzzle game.

Great work! <3

Fish.Net by Pete 2025-04-22T14:01:04Z

Cute little fishing game! Resolution was a bit wacky and I had to resize the window to get graphics to behave.

Nice chill mood, had some fun for a while with it.

Great work! <3

St. Harold the Devout by bwalter 2025-04-12T16:28:42Z

Fun and unique little game, nice Getting Over It vibes! The hard reset on first hit was a bit too punishing for me to finish the game. I got quite far and had some ~30mins of fun with the game, until it got too frustrating.

Had fun playing it, great work! <3

Escape Into the Darkness by Linky439 2025-04-12T21:39:41Z

A solid entry, quite hard but that's fine for a jam game! Great visuals and nice eerie atmosphere. The batteries were slightly annoyingly hard to pick up, maybe the pickup radius could have been slightly bigger.

Great work, enjoyed it! <3

Splorer by jkniest 2025-04-22T13:33:46Z

Cool idea! Game was a bit slow and somewhat tedious, but liked the concept! Managed to win the game, although it was a bit of a grind to get there.

Nice work!

Blind Depths by DeadCode 2025-04-09T17:17:36Z

Nutty putty cave accident meets Barotrauma. Unique visuals and incredible atmosphere! Gameplay was somewhat monotonous, so might have benefited from some secondary mechanic to mix things up a bit (e.g. currents in some caves pushing you around, something to mess with the sonar, or anything really). I'm also not a huge fan of jumpscares, but I'll give you a pass on this one.

A truly exquisite little jam game nonetheless, love it! <3

Low Maintenance by Juutis 2025-04-12T22:11:52Z

That was great, played the full game and got most of the secrets! Very solid retro-ish fps. The garage was great until I got lost and being terrified of the open space turned to frustration, but that's was for just a moment.

Nice writing and pacing. Change in visuals from the intro to the gameplay was quite sudden, which hurt the visual cohesion a bit, but that's just a small gripe. Intro was great nonetheless.

Good work, loved it! <3

Pit by filgreen3 2025-04-22T13:50:28Z

That was fun! Still a bit confused on if there was some target I needed to reach to get to the next floor, but just going for maximum score was interesting enough to keep me hooked until the end.

Loved the art style and writing. The overall mood was on-point.

Audio was **very** loud, had to turn it down to ~2% to get it to comfortable levels.

Great work, loved it! <3

HOLE by isayneigh 2025-04-12T21:23:18Z

Fun and simple, a great jam game! Loved how chaotic the physics feels, the gravity/acceleration is just perfect. The difficulty ramp up was slightly slow and could maybe have been slightly more gradual (felt like the eventual "oh shit this got difficult" moment was a bit too sudden for me, but that's more matter of taste than an actual issue).

The chosen music complements the overall feel very fell.

Great work, loved it! <3

Hooked by mira 2025-04-11T13:34:13Z

Cute and simple little game! The pumping mechanic was fun, although a bit of smashy. Maybe it could require a bit of rhythm for the taps to make it a bit more engaging?

Enjoyed the casual experience and the music complemented the mood very well!

Great work, loved it! <3

Turtles All The Way Down by VerttiXPertti 2025-04-10T12:06:22Z

Yup, it's a rage platformer. Had to stop playing after a few tries, I can't manage these lol.

Well done, a solid simple entry with good execution, great job! <3

Deep Descent by boids 2025-04-10T11:10:29Z

Simple mechanics, easy to learn and quite fun! To me the most glaring thing the game lacks is a difficulty ramp-up, as it felt like I had to intentionally try to lose for the red wave to catch up.

A really solid compo entry, great work! <3

TRENCH by toilari 2025-04-09T19:50:12Z

@mod-wiz Thanks for playing, and thanks for the kind words!

There is some procedural generation, yes! There are a few hand-made level parts, which are used to create the levels. Basically, there is a "top slot" and a "bottom slot" and two parts are chosen, at random, for each level. This allows for a lot of level variety with just a few parts. Similarly, there are a few different spawn pools for choosing enemies, which are used to randomly spawn a number of enemies on each floor. These scale on difficulty and harder spawn pools are used as player gets deeper.

Thanks for the feedback, glad to hear you enjoyed playing our little game!

Into The Abyss by Locke8 2025-04-10T11:50:28Z

Interesting concept, but difficulty was way too hard for me! Micromanaging just a few turrets was already very taxing, leaving very little time to do anything else. Very intense experience.

A great game, I liked the strategic building aspects and the economy was interesting. Selling your hard-earned rooms felt a bit weird way to make more money. Aiming the turrets was quite tedious as attempting to micro the aim always required two clicks (one to select the turret and another to actually aim, which was very punishing when making mistakes.

A solid entry, good job! <3

Umbrage by jnur 2025-04-10T10:57:17Z

What an impressive entry! A neat little platformer with fun and easy to learn mechanics, but still difficult enough to take a while to beat! Not a huge fan of 1-hit deaths and resetting to start at every death, as that gets frustrating easily. So perhaps some form of checkpoints could have been nice. Might just be a skill issue, though

Great work, one of the best I've played thus far!

A Quick Dive by Denmander 2025-04-09T16:53:52Z

What a fun little game! Took me a whole run to realize there are money collectibles I'm supposed to pick up, so had to play again to get a score lol. Loving the retro vibe with the art. Great work! <3

Doodley Descent by LarsieVL 2025-04-09T16:41:19Z

Neat little game. Difficulty didn't seem to ramp up, so the lack of challenge became boring after a while. A great entry, well done! <3

In the DEPTHS by Planetary 2025-04-09T18:40:17Z

Looks interesting, but wasn't able to get into the game :c The game always freezes on generating world 0% and never seems to progress anywhere from there.

In the DEPTHS by Planetary 2025-04-09T19:38:40Z

@planetary I was trying the HTML5 version. Tried again with the .exe version, and it worked flawlessly through Wine on Linux

What an interesting little game! The progression felt a bit grindy, but the gameplay was interesting enough to keep me hooked in. The upgrades felt meaningful and useful, but having to quit to menu to buy those felt like it broke the flow of the game a bit, as the restarts between runs were otherwise so smooth.

World generation seemed to sometimes (rarely) produce levels with entrance very far to the sides from where the player character spawns. This wasn't that game-breaking, but very annoying before getting the time upgrade, as there was so little time left to spend in the depths.

Great work! <3

Project: Coreline by AlvaroRomeral 2025-04-12T21:04:08Z

Cool city builder! A difficult genre for a jam game, but solid execution and easy-to-understand mechanics. The hex grid with fixed number of sites in each hex was an interesting idea. Difficulty was a bit on the easy side, as past certain point, the production quickly steamrolled to victory, but a fun experience nonetheless!

Some form of significant difficulty increment from advancing the drill stages could have spiced things up a bit, there is only so much one can get done in the time limit.

A great jam game, loved it! <3

Onkalo by Chronicpain 2025-04-09T17:52:44Z

Gorgeous visual novel! I encountered a few situations where I had bugged dialogue (some dialogue I had earlier seemed to pop up again later on in places where it didn't make as much sense) and a few cases where the dialogue box stayed blank, but no game-breaking issues whatsoever. Great work nonetheless! <3

The Trench by atsh 2025-04-16T20:24:32Z

What a fun little educational experience! Visuals were superb, loved the lighting effects and the sonar. The cute little bubbles from the propeller were a nice touch.

As others have mentioned, there wasn't much to do gameplay-wise, but I kind of liked it as-is; as a sort of interactive educational experience.

Impressive solo compo entry, loved it! <3

The Dive by Team 9tailed 2025-04-10T11:19:55Z

Cool little game! Mood was intense enough to keep me hooked during the first act. It was a bit hard to tell where the character was moving at times, as there were nothing acting as a point of reference. The second act was nice, but quite easy to just cheese with the drill/dash attack.

A solid entry, great job! <3

More in depth by enmarimo 2025-04-12T20:32:30Z

Creative interpretation of the theme, and an interesting proof-of-concept! I loved Fez and this kind of puzzles remind me of that gem of a game, so waiting with interest to see what kinds of puzzles you can cook up.

A solid entry, good work! <3
