Really cool game. I thought the controls and combat were perfect

Really cool game. I thought the controls and combat were perfect
I really like this game. The art and responsiveness of controls are top notch, I do feel like having the attacks be on X and C were a little awkward to press while using WASD to move, personally i would have liked the attacks to be mapped to the right side of the key board
great game, i had trouble figuring out how to stop the dog from barking, but really really liked it!
@haayaargh It was me who was in your stream around lunch today. I was really happy to see how you figured out the puzzle. I'll send the VOD around to my friends who worked on this game with me. Thanks again for the stream.
fun game
The level generation here is generally fantastic. Every level felt beatable but there were a small percentage that felt misleading. My only complaint is that the colour that holes in the ground have is very similar to the colour that the floor can have, so sometimes I mistook a hole for solid ground. I thought wall jumping was a nice touch as it save me a couple times, but only when I had enough time left on the clock.
Very cute game. Love the style!
I'm currently seeing the error Unable to load file Build/Build.framework.js.unityweb! Check that the file exists on the remote server. (also check browser Console and Devtools Network tab to debug) game looks cool, so I'll come back and try it once its working :)
Great mood! Relaxing and stressful at the same time, just like real work from home life
Always love seeing card games in game jams, the art and humor were great too
@zungryware Thanks a bunch for the well thought out comment and taking the time to play my game. I agree with all your constructive criticism. It's especially frustrating when a clone get hits off screen and it feels like you're taking damage and it's hard to tell why. I've thought of just not restoring the players health on time loop and not having damage on clones transfer. It kinda breaks the time loop though because as you said you can stop a clone from taking some damage they would have. The biggest idea I had but couldn't implement in time was to have a barrier that blocks a bullet that can be used once every 10 seconds. That way you can alter past damage even more by shielding damage clones would have taken.
@kujoen ive seen a couple people have issues with the timeloops ending early. The way im calculating the time loop is a little janky, and I think its just a little wack on different machines/devices. Probably wont find a fix for this version of the game, but i''ll report it as a know bug. Game should still be playable even with the bug, but thanks for pointing it out.
Wow this is a great idea and really well done
Just finished the game. Incredible entry. The amount of polish here is phenomenal. The music, art and level design all really came together. It's also a rare treat to get cut scenes in a jam gam.
Man the pixel art here is just next level. I love the white outline. I did have the game crash a little too much for me to really get a feel for it, but the fundamentals seem really solid.
Nice game the controls and graphics were really well done
I definitely see the inspiration, to Zachtronic games, which is cool. It's like programmers making games for other programmers. (And non programmers even like them too). Great game.
art is cool, but on my screen i had some trouble seeing some of the text boxes, it looks like they were getting cut off from the window. I did manage to find the a full screen button but i had to scroll in the game screen to get there. I found it difficult to twist the nobs, but i think swapping the records is fun.
I really like the music and its a fun take on the theme. I've never been the best at rhythm games so take this with a gain of salt, but I did find the difficulty to be a little high for me.
Really cool game. It looks like you opted out of the graphics category, which is a bummer because I really loved the visual style this game had. Its a simple game play loop but it works! Only complaint is that I had to make a drop box account in order to download the game, so if there is any way to change how you up load the game for the next one that might help some people out a little.
cool take on a tower defence. One thing is that I wish I could see how much gold I have on screen
Cool concept with an insane about of polish. Really great entry.
Already commented and reviewed this game on day 1, but just coming back to say great job! This game is the perfect example of simple concept with excellent execution.
Amazing graphics. Fun game play loop, and i got a laugh out of some of the text in the How to Play.
I really like this game. The aggro system combined with the risk and reward for sacrificing health now for health later was fun and interesting. I also liked the design of the main character. If I could change one thing, it would be to add a couple sound effects. I know its a game jam and can be hard to get everything in, but I think they would add a lot here. Great entry!
Really cool game. It kinda reminded me of Disco Elysium in terms of the atmosphere and how bleak the tone felt. Only criticism is that when you get to put the herbs in the bowl you have to use the arrow keys to move the selector, but you use WASD to move the character so that took me a little to figure out.
A really solid foundation for a game! I think the game play loop is really fun. Really ambitious game for a solo dev in a game jam.
Great music and style. I always think its a smart touch when tower defense games allow the player to move around and shoot too. Makes it so youre not just sitting there watching the battle happen, but instead get to take part of it. Also its great to see you had time to add in a harder difficulty mode.
Cool game. I like how its got elements of a card game and a shoot em up (almost like space invaders). The music was also boppin. I played for a while and didn't notice the game get any harder or anything. I'd love to see more added to this game like deck building aspects and more levels
Had a lot of fun with this one. Love how simple and relaxing it is. Also the amount of polish is great.
Had a good time with this one, some nice touches went a long way. The player controls just felt right and were satisfying. I enjoyed that the game had a bit of a challenge too. Great entry !
I really like the UI choices with your game. Music and voice over added a lot as well. Really clean looking interface. I also like how the attack gives you invincibility allowing the player to get in close for a hit.
Really awesome entry! I liked how there were booster packs for seeds, that was fun and exciting. It had a really good progression feel to it as well. I had a little trouble navigating the UI at first but got the hang of it after a little. The only thing I wish was that I could skip the animation for opening boosters (its possible that this exists and I just missed it) But lots of times I would come with a bunch of money to buy boosters. One of my favorite games this jam!
@hexyvexy There was a bug where the game was running at different speeds on different devices. I think that might have effected your gameplay. I pushed up a fix for that issue. I'd love it if you gave the game another try.
@kodingnights there should have been sound effects and music, sorry if they didnt work on your end
Relaxing game with some really nice touches. The journal was a nice feature. Also some funny dialog and effects with cute sprites. Kinda reminded me of playing animal crossing!
Game had a nice and cozy feeling. Very relaxing. Cool visuals and atmosphere.
Hilarious take on the theme. Amazing pixel art. I like how the camera movement made me feel like a drunk pirate.
Great look and feel. Combat felt good, glad to see controller games getting some love!
this game reminds me of baba! I like the time limit twist to give it a fresh take on the genre
Out of all the games I've played this jam, this one easily had my favorite music. I also liked that even after a duck has its soul harvested it still walked around just slower. I found that funny that a soul less duck was just a less excited duck. lol. I ended up beating the game and then went back to beat it again to see if there was a secret passage to check out back at the start since i remembered breakable walls there. I'm glad there was a duck there.
I think you nailed the difficulty. It feel like i was always on my toes trying to keep the rats down, but it never escalated too quickly where I felt like it was impossible.
game was fun and made me laugh
Ok, i hope you guys get 1st place for humor. This game was really clever and funny. Loved everything about it and can't think of anything i would change
I had fun with this one. I think you did a great job explaing the controls to the player in game. I was a little confused by the first portal in the first room that seems to just kill me. Cool entry and I like the cover art
Wow! Amazing game with just so many subtle touches. Glad to see you guys are getting lots of reviews and positive feedback. Things I loved: Graphics were on point. Great intro tutorial. Options screen. Unique visual style. Very impressive game.
cool vibe and the really nice level design. Took a sec to figure out how it all worked but it was very enjoyable
The itch link seems to be down, but ill come back later to try it out. Title art looks great
Cool game. I liked how you have to figure it our piece by piece, it makes it a lot more fun then just having the full picture of the person you are looking for. It was the perfect game length and good difficult scaling. I also really liked the music and voice lines.
Cool game and excellent art which sorta reminds me of Advanced Wars. Great entry
This is a really cool one. The way you came up with saving sessions and audio files is really smart.
Fun and unique!
Art and music were amazing, i really liked how there was 2 different versions of the main song playing and it swapped between them at seamlessly during different menus. The pixel art was also great. The difficulty seemed really good as well for a game jam game. I was able to beat it on my first play though with out understanding the synergies perfectly.
Fun puzzle game. It was pretty simple to figure out. Even though it has some similarities with Tetris, making it turn based really changed the feel.
At first i felt like the movement speed was a little too fast but once i got used to it, it felt good. Really cool game, the only thing i would potentially change is that some of the abilities were on the mouse, and before i unlocked them i was using my other hand jump. That being said figuring out the controls can be hard so maybe the way you did it is best. I also found if i pushed into the wall mid air i was able to get another jump off even if i didnt have double jump. This was still an awesome submission and one of the better games ive gotten to play this jam.
Really liked the vibe. This was a really good take on the theme. The music was really nice too and there was a really good amount of dialog. I even went back to some of the planets to see some of the extra dialog which was a nice touch.
The driving physics are pretty wild but in a fun goofy way. I couldn't figure out where to go, so maybe an arrow at the top of the screen pointing players in the right direction could be handy. The unstuck button did work for me which was a nice feature. I also would have enjoyed audio, but it can be hard to fit every thing in for a game jam. Cool game!
The song is boppin! Fun game some crazy taxi vibes. You guys got a lot of polish in here.
Great job capturing that arcade feel
This concept is hilarious! The art is phenomenal too. I only got the bad ending but might play it again to see if i can keep my job.
cool game. really smooth animations and graphics. pathfinding can be difficult to program but it looks like you nailed it. I feel like my only complaint is that the progression could be a little faster, even with the fast forward button (which is a nice touch).
Really nice cut scenes with nice art. I liked how floaty the broom felt, it was the perfect amount.
Funny game. Really enjoyed the music sound and art. especially the shop keepers. I did find the camera was a little too zoomed in and it took me a while to figure out where i was supposed to go in the last level, but it also kinda added to the zaniness of the game
Really innovative. Cool concept and execution. Also the art is great at setting the mood.
I know AI can be controversial but i love to see people try to use it to make games.
really fun game. the controls felt just challenging enough, and it was nice that the game was forgiving.
I think I got to the end but wasn't quite sure since I didnt see an end screen, that would be my only suggestion.
great entry!
i really liked the mix of hand drawn art and 2d pixel art. Very cool. i am a s8r boy
I played on mobile and enjoyed that it was an option. Cool game with humorous character backgrounds.
fun game with that plays well with the theme. Controls hit that sweet spot of being just challenging enough to make it fun with out it being frustrating.
Really cool art and the cat felt good to move around. I liked the theme and how big a cardboard box must feel to a cat! great game
Really fun game that nails the theme. I really liked the physics in the truck loading and driving portions of the game. I think the buying more boxes mechanic was really smart since the player just doesnt lose the game if they struggle to fit too many items in a box, they just don't make as much money, and have a harder time loading the truck. its a really good way to reward playing the game well while not being too punishing.
My only issue i had was picking up items some times felt very difficult. I would sometimes be able to get it by clicking around the item or reloading the level, but other than that very solid entry! I had a great time.
Thanks for the feedback everyone!
@sephowepho Thank you so much for the indepth feedback. I agree with everything you said. I think there probably should have only been 10 levels instead of 15 and that would have been a better fit for the jam. The time loop does probably feel like the main mechanic of the game, rather than the limited space management.
This game was really really well done. I really can't say enough about it. Its absolutely criminal that you have so few reviews. The art and sound design pull a lot of weight, and the ways you try to trick the player into hitting space is very clever.
I tried to run in both chrome and firefox and im getting this error when trying to run the game: [UnityMemory] Configuration Parameters - Can be set up in boot.config Ill come back and try it again later, looks like a cool game.
the art and sound effects are amazing. i found some of the platforming to be tough, but it generally like to use UP to jump and i dont think most players are like that. the auto aim feature also works really nicely.
very funny game. loved the humor. The art and sound effects were on point and really added to the comedy.
i really enjoyed this game. great submission!
The amount of polish and content is amazing! The graphics look great and you really got to show off the mechanics.
Combat ended up being a lot of fun too.
Hey! Thanks for playing and commenting on my game earlier.
I really liked your game. I think you got the movement speed of the player and the mushrooms just right. It felt like if I played well i could kite them into a group and aoe them down. The music is also really catchy.
