LD44 — Your life is currency

Dr. Ectomy by BoxedMeatRevolution 2019-05-02T17:46:16Z

First of all, I love your username! Secondly, what a wonderfully novel idea :) These are the types of games I used to play as a kid, which probably explains my messed up sense of humor.

Stuff I loved: * The X-Ray game mechanic * The visual effects you have on the organs * The slow ramp of difficulty which makes the game more accessible.

Some feedback if you want to take this to the next level: * I'm not sure if my headphones weren't working but I didn't hear any audio feedback. * I personally like the option to click on an organ and then click somewhere on the grid for the organ to snap to along with the option to drag it around. * You can also add a timer til the patient is dead, and removing certain organs puts them into a 'critical' state where you only have a short amount of time to put the organ back. A con of this idea is that it may cause the game to lose its laid back fun style, so take it with a grain of salt.

Well done and I can't wait to play the next one!

BETRAYDED by karreg 2019-04-29T23:50:50Z

Well done! I love the attention to detail (like the guy's head turning red the harder he tries to jump)! Great graphics and tons of fun to play.

Between Light and Shadow by winniehell 2019-05-01T21:50:10Z

Oh wow this game is freaking cool! Love the idea!

Some gameplay feedback: - Add ability for the user to swap key commands, I prefer WASD :) - I love the little 'unlit lamp' puzzle in the beginning but it would be cool if you could introduce that in a more engaging way. The first time I met the old lady who was giving us back story, I just skipped through the entire dialog and had to come back and actually read what she was saying.

That said, I'm thoroughly impressed at what y'all were able to accomplish in a weekend.

Knit Worth by ColeSlaughter 2019-04-30T17:50:10Z

@roilbauk We got the background music from this talented musician: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMBMuCczSeU

Thanks for playing :)

Knit Worth by ColeSlaughter 2019-05-01T05:58:06Z

@peachtreeoath Thanks for playing :) We got the video playing in the background by using Unity's video player component to stream the video and render it to a texture. We then took that texture and applied it as a material to a UI panel. Hope that helps, all the best.

Knit Worth by ColeSlaughter 2019-05-08T01:52:38Z

@tddawson Thank you so much for the thorough feedback. It takes time to analyze the game the way you did and to write up your thoughts as well as you did. You da real mvp! Thank you :)

Slime, music and portals by VinegarLove 2019-04-30T21:46:28Z

I really like the music and sound effects. This game was one of the chillest games I've played in this jam :)

Worth a Coin by Evolus 2019-04-30T22:33:24Z

This game is hella fun! I love the sound effects and the bitcoin and the tutorial sequence! I would recommend starting the difficulty out a little lower, but then again, I might just suck :)

Everything is Money! by OgelGames 2019-04-29T18:17:52Z

Oh wow this game is a hoot! Well done :) Things I love: - The simplicity - The polished gameplay - The upgrade system

Future improvement ideas that I had: - Improve the audio for coin collection. I would pick a sound that is a little more neutral and easier on the ears. - Reduce the number of times you can upgrade to make the game harder. Upgrade every 2-3 levels as you progress. - Have the pigs suck coins out of you if they touch you.

Overall, this was a very enjoyable game to play. Keep up the good work!

Everything is Money! by OgelGames 2019-04-30T17:38:48Z

@ogelgames You're right! I played it again and saw that the coins are being taken away. Well done :)

Current_CE by zoneoutapps 2019-05-03T04:49:33Z

I love the overall art and feel of the game! Well done!

Things I enjoyed: * The animations on the batteries that made them look extra cute * The color choice for the world * The controls page in the main menu that let's you see the controls before playing the game

Items that can be iterated on: * As others have mentioned, I had some issues with the audio. For me, the background music stopped playing about a minute or so after playing the game. * The background music on the title scene also seemed a little sharper and louder and was hard on my ears * It is not immediately obvious what the goal is when I started playing the game. * The double jump mechanic is cool but difficult to grasp out of the box. I think you could introduce those mechanics piecemeal, kinda how Super Meat Boy does.

I'm impressed at what you guys were able to get done in a weekend. I think with some polish, this game would be something I would buy on Steam :)

LD45 — Start with nothing

Higher Desire by ColeSlaughter 2019-10-11T17:51:22Z

@ynneblack @ithildin Thank you both for playing! That issue was fixed in the post jam build if y'all would like to give it a go, but obviously please grade us on the jam build. I'm glad you both enjoyed it :)

@jin9310 You da real mvp for noticing the cucumber :) Thank you for playing!

Hubcap Pup by Terribly Awesome Games 2019-10-08T18:37:49Z

I love the atmosphere you've created in the game. I hope you finish this some day :)

Bug that happened for me: Whenever the dog jumped down from the cars, the camera didn't follow it allow the way down and ground was cut off for me.

Good work!

Untitled Goop Game by unept 2019-10-08T20:57:11Z

Well done! The puzzles are cleverly created and I love the sticky, gooey atmosphere. I can almost smell it :)

From Nothing To Hero by framg 2019-10-08T19:27:08Z

Nice job! The level was setup really well and the bugs creeped me out. It would have been nice to aim the trajectory of the fireball. I kept overshooting the bugs, but that could also mean that I suck lol.

Epic Space Potato by Maxime Cyr 2019-10-08T22:40:00Z

This is a really cool idea and I had fun playing it :)

Few points of feedback: - The hit logic seems a little off, whenever I would swing at an enemy, I noticed certain hits didn't register. - I would be nice to be able to hold the CTRL button to continuously swing. - When I played this on Mac, the combo of CTRL + arrows swapped the workspace on my screen. - I think representing health by a other people crowds the screen too much.

LD46 — Keep it alive

Keep our Mother alive by soyrandom 2020-04-21T02:26:07Z

How has this game not gotten any reviews yet?!? One of the best submissions I've played. I love the art, reminds me of Don't Starve. The gameplay mechanic is wonderful.

Couple of pieces of feedback: - Occasionally, the right arm gets stuck and won't move when i press the 'D' key. Things still get collected but the animation may have broken. - For future iterations, you can make variants of this mechanic and ship it as a full game :)

Well done! Y'all should be proud of this one.

Jaghund Armoured Organ Delivery Service by iamscissors 2020-04-22T02:47:51Z

Came for the art, stayed for the game play! Well done :)

Are We There Yet by Twistashio 2020-04-21T03:29:29Z

I like the idea a lot but the physics and movement need a bit of polish. Definitely made me laugh when I crashed into something and the car went flying off :)

Enshrine by MicroChasm 2020-04-22T06:05:07Z

Such a cool game idea! I like the art work a lot and the back story was touching. I agree with the others that some sound and visual effects would make this a commercial game :)

2 Souls Together by Lestat 2020-04-20T23:52:28Z

As other's have said, I love the art style!

Here's some polish feedback: - It would be nice to be able to move a little faster - It'd be nice to have a bit of variety to pickup audio - You can also show some progression in the story with the pickup text.

Well done!

Come to Mama by Louis hayes greenwood 2020-04-20T22:51:22Z

Well done! I loved the animations. The puzzles were also well thought out. My only ask would be to get WASD support :)

Deal With Those Papers by MoweMax 2020-04-20T23:32:22Z

I like the idea but I think the 'D' key is broken :(

Turbosaurus Hero by megaqueijo 2020-04-20T23:43:48Z

Made me laugh! Well done :)

by Sthor726 2020-04-21T02:35:32Z

Well done! The graphics and audio are wonderful and I love the back story. I enjoyed the animation of the guy falling down more than I should have. Made me laugh!

I'm sorry you're having build issues. You may already be aware of some of these problems: - It took me awhile to realize I needed to press enter to continue on the main screen - I'm probably a n00b, but those beats were moving pretty fast in the first level. Might be a good idea to slowly ramp it up

The Dragon's Curse by Aditya Kumar 2020-04-21T02:53:24Z

I'm a huge fan of this style of storytelling. Feels like I'm playing DnD :) Well done!

Dungeon Ball by scott.redrup 2020-04-21T20:05:49Z

One of the most fun entries to play in this jam! Like others have mentioned, the AI needs some polish. It'd also be nice to skip through the game once you lose.

You should be proud of this one :)

Straying Alive by tkers 2020-04-21T23:55:25Z

I really enjoyed playing this! One piece of feedback, it'd be cool to be able to switch between green cells via keyboard!

Save The Dinosaur by LungTakumi 2020-04-20T22:39:23Z

I played the game when my buddy, who commented above, posted it in our chat. Impressive first entry :) I noticed that some of the meteors were off the screen, so that might be something worth polishing.

How to Air by kwaku 2020-04-20T22:46:21Z

Well done! I love the art and the overall game play, but I think some of you click trigger points are misplaced because it would take multiple clicks before I was able to pick something up.

Seeking Past by DylanPiserchia 2020-04-20T23:29:16Z

I like the idea a lot! You can create a story and display pieces of that story when a player collects a memory. I think the movement needs a bit of polish and you might need to increase the collider size of the sword. Well done!

Lettuce Be Friends by YaakGold 2020-04-20T23:39:19Z

Well done! I liked the game idea and the cozy environment you created.

I think this game would benefit from a step by step tutorial instead of having the player read text.

Keep Culture Alive by Gray Fustos 2020-04-20T23:23:54Z

I like the backstory a lot. I can definitely see this being a multiplayer 'Family Feud' style game :)

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Jeff's every 10 seconds by Atwooooooood 2022-10-03T21:07:35Z

I like the game mechanic and art style. I want to play this on mobile later because I think the experience would be better. Occasionally, the 10 second timer would pause for me mid game. Not sure if that was intentional.

Shutter Chaos by ColeSlaughter 2022-10-03T22:02:20Z

I saw the notification for this and am on it like a rat on a Cheeto. Will be back with my thoughts :)

Edit: Unique idea, gameplay, and artwork as usual! I couldn't nail the sassy pose to save my life but had a blast dabbin'. The end screen was a nice touch! For some reason, on my first playthrough, the shutter wouldn't start. I restarted the game and the 10 second timer kicked in.

Sheeple by Jonathan Holm 2022-10-03T20:40:39Z

This game surprised the heck outta me. Addicting mechanic (sheep curling is a thing now) and great transitions.

THE SUMMON by evgenimp 2022-10-03T21:17:31Z

This felt more like an experience than a game. The drawings hit home and the pulsing music was a nice touch. I could imagine a game that is themed the same way but requires more user interaction and consequences.

Glitch Quest by velvetlobster 2022-10-03T20:29:57Z

I love this game! I was so immersed in this crappy OS. Great work.

Only feedback I have is that the gameplay is a little jarring in the beginning.

Stuck gun by mira 2022-10-03T21:56:29Z

This is a nice twist on the traditional top down shooter genre. The graphics and audio were immersive. The minimap got in the way for me as I traversed the map.

Ticktock Tactics by Cral 2022-10-04T16:22:13Z

Creative game! I think this is the first one I played where the time was used as a resource. Great work!

Hourglass by WooshDUde 2022-10-04T02:40:29Z

This was a fantastic game! The mechanics reminded me a bit of Braid. The art gave me nostalgia. I feel like this has the potential to be expanded to a commercial game. Great work!

Bearly Fishing by SakuH 2022-10-04T16:37:13Z

Fantastic game! I could tell y'all put a lot of thought into it from the game mechanics, to the background music, to the level design, to the squishy fish noise. Great work!

Monkey Bu$iness by LiquidFunk 2022-10-03T21:22:06Z

Unique idea that made me laugh. You should post this in r/wallstreetbets!

Ten Pots by Prerak 2022-10-03T21:00:41Z

I enjoyed the game play. I found myself drawing hitting pots in a pattern that allowed me to draw things. The only feedback I'd give is that holding down the mouse felt a little awkward.

Accelerato by stewthepoo 2022-10-03T23:00:06Z

This is a really cool idea. Adding a real time puzzle element to a platformer is very innovative. I love music and was able to catch some of those cues. The ones I couldn't catch I learned through trial and error. Good work!

Diagonally by PartySquadMember 2022-10-03T20:23:25Z

Very cool theme. The music and ambiance gave me Elden Ring vibes. I have the same feedback that dollcoded mentioned

Life Passes You By by Cosmonautical 2022-10-04T19:37:30Z

This was a beautiful experience. The music selection and simplistic art (even the font) helped set the mood. Like others mentioned, I didn't have time to read the prompts, but somehow it felt like that was intentional. Playing this experience again was surreal. I knew some of the prompts already so it felt like I got a redo at life. Great work! You deserve all the good reviews you've gotten.

Demon's Redemption by Ghatazorg 2022-10-03T22:20:12Z

Very cool gameplay and art! The ghosts mechanic was very impressive. Great entry!

Birdwatching by Iguanana 2022-10-05T20:47:57Z

This was the wholesome game I needed! Great work on building this by yourself!

Spooky Glitch by nicorm 2022-10-03T21:25:47Z

This game got me in the mood for Halloween! I'm impressed that you were able to build out so many minigames. Good work

Find the Rocket by quabmara 2022-10-03T20:43:50Z

Fun game! The "out of ammo" dialog cracked me up.

Facebot's Long Night by Drdunkel 2022-10-03T20:36:12Z

Insanely good art! This reminds me of Don't Starve. Fantastic entry that you all should be proud of.

Weighty Weenie by Joshua Pitaniello 2022-10-03T21:52:05Z

Really funny game. Great sound effects! The movement mechanics take a second to get used to but add to the quirkiness of the game.

LD57 — Depths

Hadal by ColeSlaughter 2025-04-11T22:53:44Z

Another amazing entry! Well done! The polish was remarkable - from the Art, to the shaders, to the little splash vfx, to the controls. Inspiring stuff! The only feedback I have is that I wasn't able to load the WebGL build on Brave or Firefox (No extensions)

How the Moon Got Its Colors by Carraka 2025-04-11T19:13:10Z

I enjoyed the mood you created with your artwork and sfx! I was smashing the right mouse button a ton :) Constructive feedback: I think the collision layers might need to be tweaked because I would sometimes get stuck among the cows. Also, for the LMB attack, I don't think the projectile launches based on the direction you face.

Great work! I enjoyed this alot.

Depths of the Heart by chelC 2025-04-08T03:24:00Z

Great job! I was chuckling the entire game. You all have a great sense of humor and it showed in this game!

Detector by AlphaBetaSoup 2025-04-11T14:54:29Z

Thank you all for the great feedback!

@foxecho @kalgynirae Thanks for your thoughts on what you expected for the movement. That really helps!

@caeonosphere The hitboxes are actually rectangles! I found them harder to pinpoint, but it seems like I may have made the game too difficult  As for the restart button sending you back to the main screen, that sounds like a bug!

@suvi Those are great suggestions! I may pick this up in a week and implement those polish suggestions. Thanks!

@alyd-asmar Thanks so much for the feedback! The depth meter is a great idea! I'll put this on the polish list for when I pick this game back up.

Fish Photography by Turquoise Moon 2025-04-11T03:43:34Z

I enjoyed this; it reminded me of a Subnautica! I agree with others that the move mechanics felt a bit awkward, but I enjoyed the capture mechanic!

Submerged by TROGDOR 20X6 2025-04-08T03:13:34Z

Holy smokes this game is amazing! Great work! The mood you created was really cool. All the little effects and items in the background and the sound effects came together really well.

Restless Soul by unkilledshadow135_Alex 2025-04-10T22:10:09Z

It was a great experience overall! The art style and sound effects created an immersive experience. Some constructive feedback: I noticed a bit of lag between when I hit my mouse button and the character animated the attack.

This reminded me of the old Mortal Kombat games, so thanks for the trip down memory lane :) Great work!

Fishing Therapy by Dadidou 2025-04-11T03:48:34Z

This was a cool take on the theme! Like the others, I enjoyed the artwork. This is also a large amount of content so kudos for the work you put in!

Luck Runs Out by Tenzz 2025-04-10T22:28:20Z

This was a touching entry! Like others, I really enjoyed the graphics and the message! I also agree with @p1x3lc0w about varying the sfx. Otherwise, I look forward to future entries from you :)

To The Core by izzqz 2025-04-10T22:05:48Z

RIP my spacebar! This game was a ton of fun. For some constructive feedback, it'd be great to be able to tune down the force that pulls right.
