Oh wow this game is a hoot! Well done :) Things I love: - The simplicity - The polished gameplay - The upgrade system
Future improvement ideas that I had: - Improve the audio for coin collection. I would pick a sound that is a little more neutral and easier on the ears. - Reduce the number of times you can upgrade to make the game harder. Upgrade every 2-3 levels as you progress. - Have the pigs suck coins out of you if they touch you.
Overall, this was a very enjoyable game to play. Keep up the good work!
AMAZING game!!! Love it!!!
Cool game man, but why we shoot coin on poor little piggy bank :( ?
@alphabetasoup Thanks for the suggestions!
I agree that the coins pickup sound is a bit harsh, but unfortunately it was created before I realized how often it would be playing.
As for the pigs, they do actually take coins from you, but due to the lack of time, I wasn't able to add and animations or sounds to it, so it's hard to notice.
GREAT game. It was very funny to play it.And I like that player's eyes follow the mouse.Good work!

Great Idea

Cool! Is there a limit?
@preda No, it's an endless game, but it gets continually harder with the number of enemies and their spawn rate increasing by about 20% each wave.
@ogelgames You're right! I played it again and saw that the coins are being taken away. Well done :)

So you're a coin shooting at piggy banks! I think it's cute that you left time at the end of the levels for us to collect the coins.
This was great! I love how the eyes follow the cursor! The upgrade mechanic was very clever. a perfect take on the theme.
loved how the droped coins became obstacles for the pigs, gave the game far more depth than I expected, great job.
@thestartlestare Thanks, that was actually accidental, as I had intended for the coin to not even collide with the pigs, but I decided to leave it in because it seem more realistic than having them go through the pigs.
Pretty solid and smooth mechanics! I had fun! I got all my stats up to 100. Them piggies didn't stand a chance! I found that the dropped coins posed a greater threat since they blocked my shots! Perhaps bigger and more difficult enemies could spice things up.
@skylark721 Thanks, I was planning on adding different enemies, but I ran out of time, so definitely something for a future update.
If you continue it post-dare, would be cool to see something different with the piggy-bank waves. Once you've levelled up the damage you can just sit there and explode them without having to really work at it.
I think I just exploded my ears when I levelled up too. :o: ld44db05.png
This game is a little treasure. (I loved the itch.io backgroudn but this is another story). Even if it's simple I appreciated a lot that the mechanics to set your skills after leveling up stays the same as during the gameplay. This is very nice, because I got it immediately without any need to read instructions. I love self explanatory games. My complaint is that the visual feedback on level up or dying isn't very clear, so basically I didn't understand what happened at first. I liked the left over coins collidig with the rest of the scene, but I read that it wasn't intentional :)

Well done! While simplistic, everything that is here is solid. I had issues with the sound getting incredibly loud sometimes, but that's the only issue. For improvements, if the pigs destroyed any coins they touched that would give players a reason take to speed, so they can grab the coins faster.
Very cool!
@johnnysix Yes, I will definitely continue, and I will most likely release an update shortly after, with all the things that didn't make it into the game added in.
@tommyflower Thanks for the detailed feedback!
@raphiell Thanks, the pigs actually don't currently do anything to the coins, but I certainly could add it in...

I definitely played this game for too long. :D

I love that they can't pass through the money I had so much fun trying to block them and then laugh at them. lol Can't wait to see some more stuff made by you!
Very simplistic. More enemy types would be interesting after some time. What I really like is that the coins can be in your way of shooting. That forces you to clean the floor after a while.
Very simple and fun game. Loved the idea of using coins for everything. The eyes following the mouse was a nice touch.
The coin pickup sound effect is too loud, but that's not a big deal.
The game gets a little repetitive after a while. Maybe try adding different enemy types as the game progresses.
Overall, great job!
@mags Thanks, glad to see you got to the fun part :)
@koemeterion Thanks, more enemies will be one of the main changes in the post-jam update.
@keyurrana Thanks, I just released a small update to the game that addresses the coin pickup sound: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/everything-is-money/minor-update
Thank you for submitting your game to be played on my stream!
Once the stream is finished you can find the video here: https://www.twitch.tv/ursagames/videos If you want to know when it was played you can find your game in the queue here: https://tinyurl.com/y5rdokvp
Really fun game. I didn't really understand what the power upgrade did but I had fun getting my character super strong.
Simple but fun! The upgrades need a bit of balancing to be fully effective. As is, the optimal strategy is to just upgrade damage until 100. From then on the pigs can be shot in 1 shot. The other upgrades do not seem as useful.

Cool fun game , is there any limit for coins you can collect or is it unlimited?
@orangejuicepanda thanks.
@loveapplegames thanks, balancing was one of the things most impacted by the time limit.
@anandhi thanks, no there is no limit to the number of coins, except maybe the constraints of the text box :D
I wish I had found this while voting was still going on, it is quite a gem. My favorite mechanic seems to have been an unintended feature; that of the coins sticking around and colliding with each other and the pigs.
This was great because at higher levels you can use them as a barricade, but at the same time, you have to be careful not to hit them because they are your currency after all. This causes you to exercise self control and take time to aim rather than just blast away.
In the first game, I prioritized fire rate and movement speed, but I quickly realized that that is not the optimum strategy. On the second try, I got Damage up to 60 before putting anything anywhere else, and that was the ticket to success.
Great game, and this is a reminder to me to play test. Often I go into a project with a fixed idea of what it should be, code the whole thing, and then fix bugs. If I'd take my time and play the game as I go, buggy behavior could lead to great ideas for game mechanics. Thanks for the inspiration!
