LD38 — A Small World

Abaddon by Geckoo1337 2017-05-01T15:53:02Z

Fun game with cool graphics. All i can say about the game is an "Hell yeah!". The only thing to "criticize" is the one-pressed-space but double-jump. I dont know why this happen.

Great entry!

Where is mommy? by jQnas 2017-05-16T14:11:14Z

Uff, I didnt vote it until now, I dont know why. I already played it :I

Anyway, you guys did an amazing job here. I love the atmosphere and I anjoyed the exploration of the level. Nice graphics, sounds and music as well.

Just the camera angle was sometimes a bit frustrating. But whatever. Well done :)

Off Grid 81 by garethjenkins 2017-05-16T13:38:58Z

First I was wondering what I had to do. After that state I had a lot of fun with puzzeling. Nice work. I love those kind of games.

Greedy Nations by Squatch 2017-05-16T13:21:09Z

Like @Geckoo1337, I had an white screen. After an minute of waiting nothing happened. So, sorry :/ (Win10 / 64bit too)

Quest Island by bentglasstube 2017-05-16T13:29:49Z

A game with more exploration than typical. I like it!

TinyPlanets by tajamsoft 2017-05-16T13:17:49Z

Very complex game I guess. I like the idea and the game so far and I will play it again. Good job!

NT-Virus by fingamer 2017-05-01T15:22:11Z

The intro was really good, the graphics and sound as well.

The game mechanic is an simple one, so nothing new here. But it fits to the scenario. Just the hitboxes are a bit strange. I didnt hit an enemy (visually) but I get the hit-sound and the loosing screen at the end.

But its an great idea, with nice sound and graphics. I like it.

Micro Mayor by pizzapranks 2017-05-16T13:46:49Z

Well, that was a short one. Little fun game that is buggy(?) or absolutly not good balanced. Anyway I had fun - for under 5 minutes, but hey I had fun. Well done :)

Colonize by JustinM 2017-05-02T08:22:36Z

On the technical side: Everything works fine. Nice graphics as well. There was no Sound for me (maybe you turn off the Audio rating!?)

The game was really easy to play and easy to finish. Something is needed to the end to motivate the player to continue. All I have to do at the end was finding more villagers for maybe 15 times. Thats kind of boring. Overall I like the idea.

Small World of Mine by 0uicmoi 2017-05-16T14:00:22Z

Great little expierence. The atmosphere was nice and this kind of story telling as well. Beautiful graphic design. I love this one!

Escapist ! by Number6406 2017-05-01T15:10:02Z

Great game. I like games like that.

First I was thinking that its hard to deal with the incoming water, but all I did was build many houses (what is not necessary I think) and if there was enough worker I build a new woodcutter or mine to gather the needed ressources. My first escapist was destroyed by the water. After that I placed 2 more of them and then I finished the game. At the end it gave me the feeling that if I'm build pure chaos I can reach the goal. So, yeah. I think more balancing is what the game needed.

Anyway. The graphic is really minimalistic, but stylish. I like it. Soundeffects was funny and the short time of one session is perfect.

Overall, like I said: it was a lot of fun, I love games like this. Great Idea. 730 was my final score.

The Deep by GertJohnny 2017-05-02T09:39:11Z

This is the easiest feedback of all: Amazing game, superb job!

LD39 — Running out of Power

Power Surge by Tomahawk2001913 2017-08-04T11:06:41Z

Fun little game, but a bit to hard for me. The enemies are cheating, they have an wall hack! D: Nice sounds and music and the graphics are great too. Nice game!

Five swords to Hell by Javier Diez 2017-08-04T11:14:32Z

Strange game. I'm not sure what I have to do. But it was fun to try . Graphics and audio are very good and give the game a nive atmosphere. Well done.

Powerless Professor by DeathStorm 2017-08-04T11:38:42Z

Thanks @ciobeni for the feedback. You are the first one who is giving us feedback from a linux system. So we never known about that. We will watch into that by time.

@johnnwfs you played it on windows I think? So the research has to work. The first research tiers (or whatever you want to call it) brings just a bit of improvement, so I think your biggest trouble could be the mood of your citizen. (I dont know it, but its the hardest part to understand I think) Thanks for the feedback anyway!

Asolar by krunoslav 2017-08-04T10:51:08Z

That was fun. I'm not sure why there is no possibilty to rate the sounds. The explosions are super cool. Nice idea and very funny game.

Range anxiety by StubbyRogue46 2017-08-04T11:00:52Z

Very hard for me. I wished I had a bit more of a view, so the green (fast) zombies are not that challenging. Good and interesting entry.

Cubes Run Out Of Power Too by TheLord 2017-08-04T10:43:06Z

Fun simple game. The floor texture is a bit ... unique I have to say. I missed a on screen counter for coins aswell and the possibilty to recharge my power. But anyway well done.

Running out of aMAZEing power! by ffs2309 2017-08-04T11:31:04Z

Nice little game. I liked it till I felt my stomach due to all the rotation that I did. lol. Anyway, nice entry

Lost Soul by daviddiagonza 2017-08-04T10:34:18Z

Nice and beautiful game. The atmosphere with the music is great. I had some fps issue because of the lightning I think. Great game anyway!

Shipyard power struggle by Norticks 2017-08-04T11:22:12Z

Nice game. The graphics are good, the music is a bit annoying. And the basics of the game give you a good fundamental for a bigger game of this. Well done.

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Ominos by differentname 2017-12-05T09:23:41Z

17 lines for me. Its hard, but I love those games. Maybe some music or sound effects are missing, but they enoying me in most cases in this kind of games. So I'm fine with that too. Really great job. Will play it again.

Elf Fortress by jormybb 2017-12-05T01:23:14Z

That was a fun time playing it. Little and compact including a lot of fun. Good Job!

... by exezin 2017-12-05T07:39:25Z

Nice and simple graphics! Strange to control and I didnt even complete level 1 (if the start thing is like a menu). I think the problem sits in front of the screen here, huh? Anyway. Interesting idea. Btw. my Vivaldi browser doesnt run the game too, so I used Chrome.

Air Raider by meles 2017-12-05T00:24:17Z

That was fun. Looks good, sure the walls are a bit ... sticky and the AI is what it is. But it makes a lot of fun to get to all tanks. Well done.

Poser by PeachTreeOath 2017-12-06T12:00:44Z

Thats a really unique and interesting idea. The skater control was a bit hard for me - all I did was look at my prey but forgot about the other cliquetypes - but thats my problem here. Well done by all of you.

Money transporter by lexi 2017-12-05T09:40:09Z

Nice and simple. Enjoyed it!

Towers for Nuclear by DeathStorm 2017-12-05T00:58:45Z

First of all: Thank you for all your feedback so far. Nice to see it :D

@keilazu The models where relativly easy made. The black ones as surrounding are simple Unity-Cube-make. Scale them, rotate them -> done. The enemy and tower models where made with Blender. All the models are made in ... lets say 2 hours or so. Hard to tell, because we are two people and we split the modelling part. But just the modelling I would say 2 hours + 1h of painting. Its a jam, so make it quick :D And yeah, there're is a lot of improvements. Even 6 hours ago we had so many ideas, tweaks, useability improvements and so on in mind, but we're running out of time - the entry was made at midnight german time and 3am (deadline) would be to late for people with a job :) Oh, and you have two more levels to go! :D

@interpol Same sentence would fit to your feedback. There is a lot of improvement potential. So sorry that we didnt make your 3 notes in time. :( Even we are a bit frustated about that fact, but still we are happy with Towers for Nuclear. Its the best looking game that we made so far. Not that many bugs in (hopefully none). And it makes fun!

Edit: Point 2 of yours - the goal of the game is in the description here and in the tutorial screen in-game. Dont blame us! :D

Still, thanks for your feedback and your time!

Dog-Off! by BrothersT 2017-12-05T08:28:59Z

That was fun, I would like to give you 6 stars on fun :D My only note is that I dont see a reason why I get more than one drink UI bar. All I did befor that was drinking ... feels wrong. Anyway, best game so far on my list!

Risky Robbery by Markus 2017-12-06T12:13:28Z

I like the concept. That was interesting and fun. The only thing I didnt clearly understand was the movement order. Anyway, well done guys!

Kids, Don't Do Wild Magic by ErikU 2017-12-05T09:10:12Z

Tough opponent, but really a fun game. Just the controls could be much more simple and the spells arent really fair. But that makes it difficult and not that easy to play. Good Job.

Team Of Super Awesome Robots! by IndieImpala 2017-12-06T12:41:18Z

Theme fitting, simple design, fancy graphics and nice audio (just the Meister booting sound is to loud imo). I had fun with it, nice entry!

A Dying City by minimurgle 2017-12-05T00:18:54Z

That was different than all the other games I played till now. Nice theme that you came up with. Like a few other users, its kind of 'work' to get through all the sectors. Need a bit more work to make it more usable, but still: great idea and a great game. Nice work!

Imbalanced by Lawrence 2017-12-05T07:47:53Z

WASD + Hotkeys for the power skills would be great, needed some time to recognize the mouse scrolling at the edge.

Fun but hard game.

Heavy Gold by Poorwill 2017-12-05T00:06:18Z

That was a nice one. Intereting control idea and the whole game mechanic works and makes fun. That was fun!

Noah's Apartment by GastricSparrow 2017-12-05T10:08:31Z

Well done. Simple and easy to understand. Nice sounds and music too. Great job.

Rattendorf by NoAim91 2017-12-06T13:03:18Z

Amazing game! Need a bit of more polish but still its a great game with a lot of fun. Would like to see more in the future from it.

Cemetery Chore by Colisan 2017-12-05T00:31:49Z

Fun entry. I'm bad and those games, so I failed a lot :D Looks fun, sounds fun, makes fun. Well done, nice job!

Moses truck by sepjani 2017-12-05T07:58:26Z

Fancy looking and good music and sounds, but really confusing gameplay. I think I know what the goal was but you running out of time I would think?!

Moses truck by sepjani 2017-12-05T08:20:52Z

@oleg-kuzyk yeah, the time problem in jams. We are all with you :D

Pineapple Madness by Isaac Lang 2017-12-04T23:56:35Z

The graphics are good, the feeling of the jump is a bit strange and hard to control. But hey, its Ludumdare, not a Triple-A release. So, nice theme fitting game. Good job!

Greedy Merchants by jlreymendez 2017-12-05T01:31:20Z

I had some problems with the control at first, but after a few trys I got into it. Fun game, with a great mood, good looking. Nice game!

Find Gold! by Isogash 2017-12-05T09:49:32Z

Fun little game. Nothing much to critize. Hm, maybe that there are some deadends like bag 5. But if you think befor jumping in you can see that you cant come out just with simple jumping. Good work!

Sally's Dark Adventure by Nia 2017-12-05T08:19:07Z

Expected a dark and scary game, got a happy surrounding. Well done. The game needs better models but its a jam, so there is not much time for that, what a shame. Anyway, I had my fun with it. Nice job!

Conservation Island by kix334 2017-12-05T10:01:51Z

102seconds on the third run. First I forget about the burning hammer, then I used it. I liked it ... a lot. hihi. On run 3 I killed (accidently) the blue population, so there was 15 pink bunnies left. They died by age. Would think they hated each other :( The music getting a bit to loud / high frequency on some point. Fun little game!

Dragon Blood by Wafiqsha 2017-12-05T09:34:32Z

Fun game. Had a few problems with the hitboxes. Everytime I used the sword I've got hit, so I used the crossbow 'til I run out of ammo.

Knockback by Jay2645 2017-12-05T08:05:13Z

I liked this one. It just feels right, and the shooting sound was good too. Sometimes it feels like 'I'm flying but never got hit' not sure about that, but I never saw a sphere coming through me. Anyway this was fun!

London Smog by Surue 2017-12-05T01:39:48Z

Fun way to interpret the theme. I had some graphic glitches (like @bar0net) and I had a lot of time over in the first round/wave. So kind of easy and boring ('cause of waiting time). But great job with the graphics and sounds.

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Anno Luciferus by madjackmcmad 2018-12-04T14:20:47Z

The gameplay was a lot of fun. Graphics ok, Sound simple. Loved the neverseenbefore-feature: If you die, see your score and you play again, that you will take your old score and start from there. Very nice feature! Eh ... yes. Anyway. I was stuck in wave 4 once. Dont know what happend there. But everyone was gone, but the end-stage-panel was not triggered. Well done Jim!

FTD : Fixin' to Die by nuclearfriend 2018-12-05T14:33:50Z

Brilliant guys! Sounds, music, vocal acting, graphics, gameplay. Perfect!

Ethic in the machine by Toulou 2018-12-04T14:46:45Z

I like the whole idea. It seams a bit short? I played it for 3 times and always had 3 choices to make. Anyway. For a bit more atmosphere some sounds would be nice and in my opinion the font color was a bit to bright. Fun little game!

Kingdom Decisions by DeathStorm 2018-12-05T19:21:32Z

@toulou thanks for the great feedback. Same goes to all of you here as well.

Well yeah. We (nearly) always come up with turn based game ideas. The good thing might be that we can slowly create a guideline to get faster/more effective to our goals. But still there is the feature creep. I'm really happy to say that we just cutted 2 features out. It could be more. But still we had the time issue which leaded us to missing time for a tutorial or proper balancing. Polish (font sizes and other stuff) as well, of course. Anyway. Thanks for all your feedback!

Four Deities by Apace 2018-12-05T14:51:50Z

Dont know why, but this one is one of my favourites so far. I like the simple graphics, the sounds and the gameplay/gamelogic. Well done!

Alpaca's Redemption by Oceanosaurus 2018-12-04T13:51:46Z

Now I want a stuffed alpaca! Nice game. Relaxing music, fun gameplay. Well done.

Dark Villagers by AwiX 2018-12-04T15:45:59Z

fancy graphics and fun idea. It was a bit hectic at the beginning to figure out what is what and what is happening. A slower start would be better I guess. Still very good game!

House Fire Cats by Digigee2 2018-12-05T14:39:11Z

Nice idea. The controls are a little mess (especially if you have something like a german keyboard layout (z and y are switched there)). Anyway, good job on this one!

Blood Balance by t1a2z 2018-12-05T19:54:22Z

That was fun. Sometimes a bit clunky-control but that could be my computer at the moment. Beautiful graphics and music as well. Nicley done.

LD44 — Your life is currency

Seize the Clay by SecondDimension 2019-05-03T18:59:07Z

Loveley. Just that one word!

Lunch Lord by madjackmcmad 2019-04-30T16:22:00Z

Beside of stuck player or enemies in the walls, a few pathfinding things here and there (my minions are trying to cross diagonally walls) is this a really fun game. Needs a bit more polish (shouldnt use that word here on a jam-page) is this most fun action game that I played yet. Well done you two!

Necromarket by Flaterectomy 2019-04-30T11:20:17Z

Graphics are stunning and well done for the time everyone had. The sound and music is fitting to. I like the game idea it self, just the movement / interaction is a little bit clunky. But still a brilliant game. With some more polish and a few more game features / different item systems, this would be a fun little game for a few bucks. Well done guys!

Spend your life by Vrixyz 2019-04-30T14:58:33Z

29 points!

Fun journey, my biggest critique would be the mixed sound quality. There were some line only on my left ear and other in stereo. Because I dont get the behind-the-scene-system of this game I have trouble to judge how good you fit the theme. But it was a nice ride, I liked the humor and no I didnt see any alien on my route :D

Seaway by Constantin 2019-04-30T15:49:44Z

Relaxing and pretty ... nice work. The whole athmosphere is great and I love it. Great work! Pathfinding seems to be a bit buggy sometimes but who cares. Its not a game breaker.

Overworked by MsAlison 2019-05-03T17:58:50Z

Even that I like those rythm games, I'm not good at them. Same here. 165 seconds on my clock at the end. A lot of options are missing (already mentioned). Great entry and a ton of 3d models in this short of time

Journey Through the Blood Tribe Lands by Kornel 2019-04-30T10:32:49Z

I totally love the main game loop. Moody sounds and music, nice graphics and a fun gameplay. A few textboxes in the tutorial where hard to read, while they where overlaping with the 4 action buttons or slightly out of the screen (played the webGL version). Fun entry, and I guess from the rates I gave, my favourite at the moment!

LD44: Minter by LMB 2019-04-30T15:24:32Z

331 points on my first try. I will revisit this game in the next few days, cause of the upcoming infos. Not sure if I get everything. Anyway. I like the idea, biggest concern would be that I never could hit an enemy with the knife, cause they where to fast. All the machines are crashing relativly fast, which is nervewrecking xD

Well done so far! Will revisit.

Moon Miner by FROG5TAR 2019-04-30T14:45:40Z

Felt like a core loop of a game. It gets repetitive fast and as a player you miss some more content/features. Obviously not after a jam like this, just overall. Well yeah. It was fun, but it felt like something is missing. Always when I ran back to the store I moved more upwards than forward. Mining Tool Upgrade worked 2 times ... guess not everything made it into the game? I liked the graphics, very clean. The music was calm and fitted perfectly. Oh, the enemies. I've got maybe 6 or 7 at the beginning, but that was all. Bug or didnt just made it completly!?

Still. Well done guys!

Koe by velvetlobster 2019-04-30T09:59:33Z

This was fun. Very impressive athmosphere, sound, graphics and those little cuts made it very good. Those text-snippets where a bit fast to read but hey, I still got it anyway. Nice project!

Lifelust by MateusBoga 2019-05-03T17:21:02Z

Great graphics and good fitting sound and music. The theme is very easy to spot here (either bad or good). I would miss some more features but this is a jam. Great entry and really good work!

DISREGARD LIFE, ACQUIRE CURRENCY by notb 2019-04-30T15:33:43Z

The graphic is brilliant. Absolutly loving it. As well the sound is on point for a pico-game. The map in the background was a well done idea too. Loved it!

Two Minutes of Fame by ZanyG 2019-05-03T17:45:52Z

Found it confusing what to do. Music was very loud but great. Visuals where well done too. No clue what I have to do, ingame tutorial is missing for me.

**Edit:** Missed the Introduction part on itch (should be ingame in the next game, lesson we already learned :D at least put the introduction to the entry page as well). I like the concept and the black humor of this. I'm not sure how many photo-spots there where 'cause it was hard to spot whats going on sometimes.

Yodin Defense by Neon Glass 2019-05-03T18:24:37Z

As the previous one said, its unbalanced and the player get stuck on expanding at one point. Sound and graphics are very good, but its hard to place something behind an object. I like the core gameplay.

Everything is Money! by OgelGames 2019-05-03T18:45:06Z

Very simplistic. More enemy types would be interesting after some time. What I really like is that the coins can be in your way of shooting. That forces you to clean the floor after a while.

HackZ Memories by Black Potion 2019-04-30T10:58:53Z

Calm mood. Very addictive. And I mean REALLY! Love it totaly and I will probably play it some more the next days. Only problem is the camera (which you are fixing at the moment).

obsessed by Oktarian 2019-04-30T15:03:51Z

I'm bad at those games ... Took me some time to get in the correct flow with the jumping. As you already said, the collision is a bit clunky but either way. Good aproach to the theme and fun little game!

Meter Maid DX by No Grapes Games 2019-04-30T10:13:11Z

Nice looking graphics and that intro/plot is amazing! As some people already said, the levels felt a bit to long. Great entry with a unique approach in terms of the plot. Liked it!

Super Epic Insurance Fraud 3000 by Nigogo 2019-05-03T17:33:19Z

Fun af. Would like to see it more polished. Fun gameplay idea, the controls where confusing but yeah. Sound is missing as well. A lot of fun!

PayTime by aqws3 2019-04-30T15:11:24Z

Fun approach. As already said, feels a bit like the "Papers, Please" idea, which isnt wrong or bad. I like the graphics and the core idea here. Big problem was a bigger screen. To overlook the "pay rules" it was a bit hard to handle. Still fun game and I totally like the whole idea!

LD45 — Start with nothing

Click of Ages by Joel Davis 2019-10-08T11:56:34Z

Currently its not running for me. The game window opens and closes in an instant.

Click of Ages by Joel Davis 2019-10-09T18:23:47Z

I like idle games, just not that much clicker games but I can see potential here. This isnt a hard game or anything but as a player you make progress really quickly in this version. Probably to quick but for a LD version its totally fine. As @elinks already mentioned this could be easily on one of the appstores to entertain some people. Obviously more features would be needed, but that shouldnt be a problem. Maybe the biggest issue at the moment is the lack of variety and the fast passed progress. Still a great game and I hope you can bring the to live in the future.

I Forgot My Sword! by Yngvarr 2019-10-10T10:21:39Z

Fun theme and a nice puzzle game. The movement is a bit missleading. It seems to be a turn based movement system but it isnt. You will learn this the hard way. Well made level design. It would be better to start with some smaller levels so you wont get punished to hard my reseting the whole level with a bunch of enemies. Clean graphics and overall fun to play.

Survivor Slots by PeachTreeOath 2019-10-25T08:38:48Z

Interesting idea. Like a few people are mentioning the rng feels unlucky sometimes :D To check if something is in reach (of 7 actions) feels restricted and gives me the right feel of mood of being lost and look out for stuff that I need.

I cant really point out what I'm missing here, but if I get a matching pattern its a bit unsatisfying to just 'complete' a task. I'm not sure what you could do instead / differently.

But overall I liked it. Well done!

Solar Grid by svntax 2019-10-08T11:53:12Z

Like the other people here, I had difficulties to get used to the guns. Its to time consuming and you would end with spamming more and more solar panels. Guns should shoot automaticly. Enemies were a bit fast (for the first minute or so) and some indicators for when I can use the gun would have been good. Beside of all that the graphics looking nice and the music and sounds are great. The kill-sound is a bit loud maybe. Overall I like the idea, it would need a bit more polishing / balancing at the end. Well done!

From Nothing to Mine by DeathStorm 2019-10-08T20:43:51Z

@hartvichio If we can anything, then its complex and complicated stuff. Its always a challenge to make it enjoyable. So its nice to read feedback like that. Thanks.

And thanks to everyone else for the nice words as well!

From Nothing to Mine by DeathStorm 2019-10-13T15:07:02Z

Hey @samh you have a lot of good points. Most of our last LD games where turn-based so we decided this time we're trying a realtime approach. Now it makes the whole expierence kind of stressfull, especially at the first time playing where you have to figure out a lot. At the end of day 2 it was the first time we had a 90% build of all systems working at the same time and we where missing 2 planned buildings at the end. So we decided on concentrating on what we have at that point. At the end to make the game challenging we came up with the balancing we have now.

Purely personal opinion: I dont like stressfull games, especially where you're building a factory / company / infrastructure. But without the hard challenge the game would not make that much fun we have now. As a player you have to be 20 minutes totally focussed on what you're doing - thats what I like about the game. The "low" loan of you workers came just from last-minute-balancing. There where no time to change the whole system and just multiply by 10 ... please. As if you think about such a simple solution in the last 2 hours ... :D

The leaving workers had a dayly 5% chance to happen if there is an unassigned worker. We underestimated how much 5% actually are.

I see a lot of points that could be improved, because as the game is right now, there is no real "freedom" for the player to play differently.

Anyway, thanks for your feedback!

From Nothing to Mine by DeathStorm 2019-10-19T07:06:57Z

Hey @peachtreeoath Well the fun part with Factorio and Cities Skylines is, those two games are my most played games on Steam. So well done by figuring that out :D Other would be games like Anno, Banished, RimWorld / Dwarf Fortress. Even games like Concrete Jungle, Product Line or Blueprint Tycoon. Nearly everything where you build and manage stuff / staff. Our games most often lack some animation or movement on the screen, and I personally see a big chance of improvement for the next LDs (or other games we make) because those things are the satisfying mechanism in the games I named.

Both of us like backend-mechanism to bring complexity into our games. But this brings the struggle of balancing for every LD entry, there is just not enough time. Over time, and this is our 10th LD entry (holy crap), we've gained so much expierence that we can handle the scope relativly tight nowadays. With **From Nothing to Mine** we had our most stressless LD game so far, the only major problem, in retrospective, is that we hadnt a game for nearly two days. So the balancing was only a thing for the last 2 to 3 hours, which was still a lot and more than usual. But you wouldnt add a new feature if there is a major-ish balancing problem from pure game design - which is a thing here if you're nit picky.

The most complex game we ever made would be **Shape Wars** -[on the old LD website](http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-35/?action=preview&uid=66047)

There is so much stuff going on in the background with the battle system that its simply no fun for people that havnt developed the game xD Its missing a proper tutorial and on-screen help.

If you look closly on all our entries (go here for an overview: [overview on github](https://github.com/koemii/data/blob/master/wiki/ludumdare.md) )

You will find maybe 3 games that arent grid based like this one. (Shape Wars, Towers of Nuclear (kind of), Memory Run (kind of)) Those are mostly turn based games with a lot of complexity in there own topics (fighting skills, features). At the same time we're struggling to come up with gamy-games, or arcadish stuff (hope you understand what I mean). Guess we're the typical german devs that like excel games :D

Uff. This ended up like an overall LD-postmortem.

Confused by Rombus 2019-10-10T10:05:30Z

Fun little game. The gathering part is a bit meaningless because it isnt challenging at all, but that comes from your limited time frame you had I guess. Still a nice expierence with a twist at the end. I enjoyed it!

Lucky Legal Llama by hijomo 2019-10-10T10:38:52Z

The sailing mechanic is a nice idea. But its really slow when the wind is coming from the wrong direction. So I wasnt really leacing the habor because the wind was going the wrong way. An oared (google translate) mechanic would have helped for those cases. Still I like the core idea and for that you get a thumb up from me!

Invasion by gwinnell 2019-10-08T12:47:27Z

Great idea and visualy apealing even that I cant understand why. So many colors :D This was fun and I enjoyes quite a bit!

Spooky Isekai by ahistyap 2019-10-10T10:29:48Z

Amazing graphics. The controls are a bit clunky and I could tell just by playing the game that its made with Unity. Because always when I try making a platformer with Unity I have the same issues. Anyway fun and challenging approach and I would agree with the other users that the flashlight is kind of anoying if you cant look around you.

The Island by Sanguis 2019-10-08T14:48:14Z

Relaxing indeed. Nice graphics and has a polished feeling. I found the information panels a bit small and hard to read. Beside of that this was a fun expierence and had a nice idle & creativity touch.

Keep It That Way by Berkin 2019-10-10T09:46:41Z

The D button didnt do anything. Had to use the arrow keys. Really fun and interesting idea. Level 2 was a bit harsh. If you're not moving in the first second you get ... caught (I guess :D ). So I learned the hard way to use the minimap to get an overview whats going on. Its just a bit small to see everything clearly. But still an challenging and interesting idea, which is just missing some sound effects or music.

Edit: I have to correct myself. The D button issue was on my side. Browser Addons are b*tches sometimes :I

A Thief's Lament by LizEngland 2019-10-08T13:25:00Z

I always like to see a visual novel approach. I liked the game idea and that I'm not stealing the same way as in other games. Interesting and entertaining approach to the theme and the writing was interesting with a lot of options. Well done!

Tagatorni by lilou_cormic 2019-10-08T12:29:58Z

Its fairly easy and gets repetetive really quickly. At the beginning its kinda stressfull because everyone is rushing at you - but you get the hang of it quickly. The game is fun but is unfortunatly missing content to motivate a bit longer. Graphics and sound / music are well done. Fun to play for a few minutes. Well done!

Dungeon Miner by Monado 2019-10-08T12:19:35Z

My first attempt was buggy, I'm not sure why but I restarted the game and everything was fine.

It took me some time to figure out how everything works. A few words here in the description would have been nice. Beside of all that, I like the idea behind this. I was missing background music as well. This way the gong was a little strange/misleading. Wasnt sure if that was a warning sign or something. Like already mentioned the always turn downwards is a bit annoying to go down stairs or in fights.

m_void1 by taffyko 2019-10-10T10:53:58Z

Great balance between graphics, story and gameplay. And all that in an amazing state. Like it a lot.

itemless by NachtWitch 2019-10-10T09:37:18Z

The third day for a jam-version would have benefit the game I guess. The core gameplay loop is interesting and minecraft-like. Just the balancing feels a bit off and some more polishing would have been great as well. But still its a fun little game which would have potential as the whole.

Merge Dungeon by ScottDev 2019-10-08T13:50:22Z

So far one of my favourites this time. I'm a sucker for those 2048 games and the battle system brings a new aspect to the game. Absolutly liked it. Its just a shame the enemys hp bar isnt updating.

Prison Escape by shaurya_juneja 2019-10-10T09:56:12Z

Uff. I'm not good at those games but this one seems to be pretty hard. Couldnt made the first level. I dont know how to pass the zombie area, if I fall down the hole in the ground I hit the wall spikes and otherway around I would get hit by the zombie. Anyway, the graphics are nice and the sounds make the game enjoyable for a few minutes. Trying a few times is fun and the game would benefit from an easier first level in my opinion. But its a very solid first LD game from you. Well done!

Prison Escape by shaurya_juneja 2019-10-28T19:01:52Z

I have to mention that you're updating your game while the voting phase, as well you're using graphics from 2013. Both is against the compo rules.

Rules are rules, please stick to them in the future.

Prison Escape by shaurya_juneja 2019-10-28T23:53:11Z

prison.png

There is what dates I see in the "edit date" (dont know what the correct english translation would be) of some of your sprites. If you really made those graphics on your own I am really impressed with some of them. But to be honest if you look closely your sprites have a mixing art style which is confusing when you say you made them by yourself. If you can do some of this stuff I would assume you can constantly make the same art style. And as a skilled artist you would do this instantly. But thats not the case here.

[Your character can be found here.](http://mate-max.com)

I really dont want to search for all of this, but just by simple googling I can find this stuff. I appreciate your effort for adding more content to your game but in no way its fitting the rules. Sorry :I

Locked by Nocity 2019-10-10T10:11:22Z

This was fun and something else. My only issue would be the scripted gameplay. Having the Match and the Cannon so early in the game but you cant use it, but at the end those are the important items its kinda strange.

LD46 — Keep it alive

Extinction Intervention by rosypenguin 2020-04-21T08:49:14Z

Same words from me as everyone else. Fun, nice graphics, nice sound, nice finger pain. Well done.

Fairy Fountain Factory Forest by madjackmcmad 2020-04-21T07:21:26Z

Fun and interesting game. The only thing I had a hard time with, was understanding the connecting thing. Nobody told me to be on top of the bubbles. So that took a few minutes to find out. :D

Unfortunately the game is missing (it seems) a bunch of buildings, which would help for a better expierence. But I think I can imagine what the overall idea was here and I like it. So I hope the game gets more attention afterwards.

For the record: My highscore 1453

Dorfromantik by yazara 2020-04-21T09:28:47Z

Beautiful game! Its missing sounds and music, thats for sure. But its fun and I really hope you keep working on it. I can see a game for 5$ here if its feature complete, bring in a few more quests or gamemodes.

What happend to me was I got a tile I couldnt place anywhere (the traintrack in all directions). So I lost, but the game didnt recognized that.

Really nice game!

Last Hope by Iluvatar 2020-04-21T09:08:51Z

Great and interesting game. The art is nice and very clever choosen with the time setting. Sound effects help creating the right mood. Its a bit short and the gameplay is more like "guessing" than knowing what works best. Buy hey its a jam entry. Nicely done!

Food Chuck by PeachTreeOath 2020-04-30T10:42:13Z

It got overwhelming really fast with all those hungry cars. Like someone mentioned previously it feels like the collision detection is not running correctly, but I may miss something.

Beside of that, its a good looking and really fun game. Well done everyone.

Feed the Machine by DeathStorm 2020-04-22T15:10:25Z

Thanks so far for the feedback everyone!

@incd021 I feel you! The game annoyes you constantly and I've got so frustrated over playtesting ... I hated it :D

@bereg @slam0 @polyducks - The missing ui was a design choice we made. You all are right that its hard to keep track of everything if you cant see the status of, lets say the amount of oxygen in the dome. But maybe it would be too easy / not that stressfull with all the ui on screen. In retrospective we have probably learned that this type of game should need a ui. You have to make mistakes to gain expierence :D

Bonfire 🔥 by ColinBellino 2020-04-22T16:32:27Z

Simple idea, clean graphics and a few thrown in sounds (not in a bad way of course). Very solid entry. Its missing some challenging levels though

Dear President, by Badosz 2020-04-21T10:17:46Z

It gets difficult very quickly. But its a fun game with nice graphics and sounds. Just the destroy-plane sound is way to loud.

LEADER KEEP THEM ALIVE by Bastienre4 2020-04-22T15:54:01Z

Really unique game concept. Loved it and probably my favourite game so far in this jam. Well done!

Gooperworm by BloodpulpGames 2020-04-21T12:55:58Z

Fun little concept. Like other people pointed out, the game is easy to read with those colors. Movement is fun and watching all the splatter effects is kind of satisfying. Like @rillep I didnt used the super goop thing. It was / felt unhandy.

Bard: Keep the Story Alive by polyducks 2020-04-21T08:10:22Z

Excellent entry. Graphic and sound are pleasing and the memory game idea is yet fantastic in a bard scenario. Its just a bit long for my taste. I didnt finished the 20 stories.

Hungy Hungy Dwagons by cheesepencil 2020-04-30T10:56:37Z

I'm not a fan of holding-button mechanics to shoot, but it made sense here and helped the gameplay. Funny sounds and a simple gameloop made this really fun to play. Nice job!

Hungy Hungy Dwagons by cheesepencil 2020-05-02T16:53:53Z

@cheesepencil Good question. Most games with bows have this. Even that it makes kind of sense in those games to hold a button, it feels not good to me. I like to have the "press button -> action happens" feeling. Holding a button feels boring in most cases. It slows the action down and I dont like it (not always though).

The Cave by Gonzako 2020-04-30T11:36:43Z

Like all the other people here I like the athmosphere, graphic and sound. But there is not much else to do. Still a nice exploration expierence.

King's Table by PetTurtle 2020-04-21T11:41:00Z

Fun gameplay, tower defense games are mostly a safe bet. Well done!

Need for Feed - High Voltage by slam0 2020-04-30T10:20:47Z

Fun game. After my second try I realised I played it for over 11 minutes. That was suprising - in a positive way. I missed a option to select my workers or to group them. The money doesnt have a real meaning, beside of early power plant feeding, but I guess thats a jam-time thing. Overall I really liked it and it was fun to play. Nice job!

Save Your Wife! by Sparsha Dhar 2020-04-22T16:18:17Z

Nice idea with throwing your wife around. The game is pretty difficult because I cant evaluate when the wolfs are jumping. Fun game, nice sound effects and beautiful graphics. Good job!

You Can't Die! by Nirose 2020-04-22T16:46:28Z

Fun little game. Some sounds are a bit nervewrecking, but its motivating to kill those evil aliens!

Firekeeper by Minrato2 2020-04-30T10:30:42Z

Nice game and good looking graphics. After a minute or so being in the dark I realized that I couldnt really figuring out how much fire / energy (whatever you want to call it) is left. The black border of the progress bar made it hard to see properly. Besides of that fun game.

Tile Rider! by VernalBehemoth 2020-04-22T16:09:00Z

Calm audio and beautiful graphics. I was missing some attack-feedback. Like other people here I wasnt sure if I hit something or not. Nice game!

Tile Rider! by VernalBehemoth 2020-04-23T19:37:51Z

@vernalbehemoth To your question: I'm not sure what would work best, but camera shack, blinking red screen border, sound effect, change enemy size or color for a short time, maybe push the enemy slightly back. Something like that would pop to my mind first.

Maintenance by bereg 2020-04-21T08:32:19Z

This was something different. Hm its a hard one to give feedback. The mood is brilliant. Sound and graphics working nice together here.

'Meaninglessness' was a nice topic. After playing and thinking about it (while watching the screen) I felt a bit like a kid again. Playing with my toys and imagine stupid stuff to enjoy my time.

Grow Together by johnjoemcbob 2020-04-21T07:31:10Z

Interesting idea. Like the other here, I'm not quite sure what I'm doing, but its addictive in its own way. And it looks cool!

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Knights of the Round Torus by madjackmcmad 2020-10-10T10:22:39Z

Fun but challenging game. Hitting flying enemies was difficult because it was hard to see where I have to click to hit them. I had the same issue like @jimbly that I got an allie without even paying for him (and I didnt click on pursache). Starting my second run I had an random shadow floating on the map. It didnt do anything, so I thought some god was watching me. Nice little detail. Right?

When you're out of meteors it felt unsatisfing. (obviously) I wished for some upgrades to raise those numbers a bit so I can shot more often. The more enemies appear I want to click more but here comes the master-the-mechanics into place. But I'm not good with this so all I want is firing more meteors on this lovley planet.

To make it short: Great music, great art and a gameplay loop that is addictive but could be even more addictive if I could fire more stuff out of my wand (or from the sky).

This Party Sucks by Yngvarr 2020-10-10T09:02:33Z

Fun game and the controls for movement where the most challenging aspect of the game. And I'm bad at this stuff :D

Graphics, sound / music and the whole idea where great. Good job!

Unscripted by Iluvatar 2020-10-06T12:24:21Z

Charming and athmospheric. The art is well done and the sounds put it together nicely. Great work and fun game.

Mad Science Loop by digitaldude555 2020-10-10T09:47:54Z

Fun game idea. If you dont die you dont realise the jam theme I guess. It was a bit clunky with this wildy moving platform in level 2 and like others mentioned if you dont know whats coming you already forget all those controls. Even that there're not many. Some on screen informations would have been nice.

The graphics are great, sound is there, and like I said the game idea is great. Its a short game so I feel bad not having more chances to play around with the mechanics. But thats a game jam issue. Well done work.

Eleven by DeathStorm 2020-10-06T09:35:33Z

@m0dsat Thanks for the feedback! You are right that the game is pretty hard (~~and unfair to be honest~~). A bunch of systems doesnt get introduced well enough and to open the first important door to the end portal (from the starting point the door to your right) you encounter 4 different lever-variations. Thats more confusing at that point than helpful. We talked about those issues afterwards so we already learned a ton by creating this game. Hopefully our future puzzle-like games will be more rewarding and less frustrating :D

@digitaldude555 Thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing!

@iluvatar Thanks for the nice words!

@milestone-games Yeah we tried to get those feelings out of the player. Happy to hear that this worked. Thanks for playing!

(edited)

Eleven by DeathStorm 2020-10-10T18:07:14Z

@silvae yeah we know about that transition bug. We think we know where the problem is, but we wont change it now. It takes to many changes in the system behind the scenes. And yeah, those switches have a bigger collider so you can interact with them easily that way. At least you didnt have trouble there with those arrows :D

Thanks for playing!

Flip a Talk by gamescodedogs 2020-10-06T09:25:26Z

**Overall**

I like the idea that you've created here by talking through a dungeon instead of fighting. While playing though, I forgot about this. I guess the game would benifit from sound, music and especially from actual talking. This is a bit much to ask for in a game jam obviously so its ok how it is. The graphics are really nice and well done. Some humour is sprinkeled in as well. I like this game very much and I would like to see some updates in the future.

**Gameplay**

**Compliment** and **Compliment Both** card stats are ... inconsistent (in my opinion!). Complimenting the other person should pressure that person more, than when I compliment us two. I dont get why **Breathe** doesnt restores some or at least 1 self-regulation. **Compliment Self** has the same stats as **Compliment**. For my interpretation its a more selfish card, so more shield or dealing more pressure. And it already cost more AP.

Those points are a bit meta I guess :D

Some Bugs - On the second card at some point, the Flip-button starts rotating endlessly - Ocasionally you can press through one card and hit the card behind it

Roller Riches by dxk2294 2020-10-10T10:49:12Z

Comments are the most valueable thing here, so sorry that its so short: Addictive!

Trapped On Track by Mads 2020-10-10T09:36:28Z

I like this a lot. Wished for some options to change the volume of the sounds, some of them where quite loud for my liking.

The dynamic change of the situation felt great. Handling those few tasks I had was fun too. Not to many of them but challenging. Discovering the "bad things" that could happen was surprising (water leaks are evil! :D)

Its a fun challenge where you get quickly better in understanding whats going on and what is important to watch out for. Ah, what I realised a bit late was that resource sources can run out. That surprised me in a bad way. Some information for that (in game) would have been nice.

Cursorial by RedHermit 2020-10-10T09:17:54Z

Well done short journey. The philosphical aspect was fun to read as well. Music fitted perfectly. The squeking sound was annoying to the end (but it was not a long journey anyway) and like someone said, it was hard to read and navigate at the same time. So I just stud there reading, and then continuing. In the fly-into-the-space-in-the-screen-center my game got stuck (web version), so I downloaded the windows version and everything worked fine. I'm not sure if I pressed some browser button at that moment - I would say no.

But still. Interesting short journey and it was fun to read. Well done.

Chamber by Pedro Medeiros 2020-10-06T10:14:17Z

This is just wow. Gameplay is fun and rewarding. Its challenging in a good way, it looks brilliant and sound and music fitting perfectly. One of my highlights so far.

GLITCH LOOP by ZakAmana 2020-10-06T10:25:34Z

This is incredible in so many ways. Graphics, sounds, gameplay, puzzles ... everything is great. And all of this is 48 hours. Impressive work.

Hyper Racer by X_Pilot 2020-10-10T11:03:07Z

Fun and very challenging when you've completed enough laps. Pretty on the eyes (and stressful after a while) and great music design. Really nice work!

The Trade Secret by Milestone Games 2020-10-06T10:02:59Z

Fun game but to short! I wanted to play and know more about the world :D

Well done for a compo entry. You achieved a lot in 48h.

while(true) by Noah Kuhn 2020-10-10T08:45:00Z

As others already mentioned, the game lacks difficulty and then makes a jump to being impossible.

However the graphics are easy to read, the gameplay is quickly learned and the overall idea is something I like. I see potential here. Find a way the game is challenging all the time and you have a very solid game idea here.

For what it is and in the time frame you made it, its a very good and fun game.

Evaze by zappablamma 2020-10-06T10:41:00Z

Interesting and fun game. After a short time I was more spamming parts to push the points towards me without actually try to order those parts the way I may needed. What I mean is, the game doesnt reward you for trying to be efficient with those parts you place. (or I didnt pay attention)

Maybe gain more points when those yellow pillars didnt get moved around. Just a quick idea.

Overall fun and interesting. Graphics were nice as well and the sound fits. Good job.

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Check Port for Moisture by TechnoNugget 2021-05-06T09:26:40Z

Difficult one. Run out of oxygen way to quick - at least for the beginning to understand everything. Interesting idea to make this turn based and it fits the theme. I died two times for reasons unknown. I still had oxygen and only a squid was on the screen but far away from me. So I dont know if I missed something or what happend there. Music was nice but repetetive after the 5th try, and the graphics where solid.

Oiligarch by dxk2294 2021-05-06T10:22:27Z

Overwhelming at the beginning but very fun and addecting after a few minutes. Nice visualization, good sounds and fun mechanics. I like management games a lot, so this gets a thumps up easily.

OVERDRILLED by everedx 2021-05-06T10:33:05Z

To make it quick: What @the-neon-shark said. Very fun and stressful game that needs a few tweaks here and there!

Operation Gridius by flaxhass 2021-05-06T09:40:35Z

Nice controls, nice ending, graphics were good and the music / sound effects did there job as well. Just the squid sound was ... something else I guess. I had a few flashing background sprites and some enemies where hidden in the walls which was a bit nasty. But I still finished the game. A marker in which direction the next ... whatever I was searching, was would be kind of great. This way I just dived deeper and hoped I didnt missed something left or right in the level. Great work everybody!

Trolling In The Deep by Joshua Jebadurai 2021-05-06T10:37:23Z

I wish I could see just a little more, this way its very difficult because sometimes obstacles pop up way to quick in the screenview. The game looks nice, sound solid and the main idea behind this would be great. Its just a bit to hard / maybe even unfair.

A Dungeon by PxlDev 2021-05-06T09:53:44Z

Very nice graphics, fun music and sound effects. The checkpoints where fair and the controls felt great. As @mikoziq mentioned janky / stuttering character what made it a bit difficult at the beginning. Solid game and I enjoyed it, even these platformers are not my cup of tea.

Turnip Brothers by oysuta 2021-05-06T09:16:23Z

Loved the sound / music, very charming and calming for a game like this. Found it a bit difficult to know which depth is walkable after an upgrade but somehow I did it. Nice idea for this theme, solid mechanic and challenging but not unfair. Just the level that @ludrol mentioned is difficult (to reach the lower plant / seed (whatever those are). You need to nail that last run to get there. Nice work!

LD49 — Unstable

Kingdom Of Unstability by DeathStorm 2021-10-04T23:28:02Z

@oneiromancer Thanks for your comment! That was quick. Pressing "End Turn" would be like playing an endless game in Anno without enemies and just looking at the screen. There is no meaning in doing so. But actually it raises the highscore slightly now that I think about it ... hmpf. But yeah, we mentioned above that the balancing is off. We want to fix that later today.

Its a big mess of values to touch. Too many for us in this short time. Lesson learned :D

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

TEN by DeathStorm 2022-10-05T16:02:50Z

@morepixels Thanks for the comment, and I agree that the waiting part is a downside for this game. But we interpreted that as "time to look around and find a good way".
