Really enjoyed this. If this game was fully fleshed out and came to market it is the type of game I commonly purchase. Well done.

risk4bisk 2021-04-27 05:50

The game was overwhelming at first, the clock starts ticking as soon as it starts and there's a lot of information on the screen, but once I got the basics I was hooked! This is really well executed, I just wish there was a larger goal to build towards after purchasing all the rights from the governments. I've got all these millions and not that much to spend them on as the profitability quickly outpaced the cost of investments. It would also be nice to have a more centralized way to look at routes and optimize them, but its extremely satisfying to hear that register keep ringing regardless!

sirduck 2021-04-27 06:08

I don't deserve a nice looking lose screen *sad face* haha love it. Took me an embarrassing amount of time to figure out how to send trucks. Super cool game once I figured that out. Love the constant income. Feels great.

catomag 2021-04-27 06:10

I really liked the game and its aesthetic, the mechanics seemed a bit weird. I thought not selling oil would make the prices rise or maybe ignoring certain cities would make them pay extra for oil, but that didn't seem to happen. I'm not used to tycoon games, so maybe that's why. Overall, really nice game with excellent mood.

lukeydev 2021-04-27 06:10

When I first got in I was completely clueless and there was so much stuff but after clicking some buttons I figured out what to do. This is great! I played it much longer than the games I've played so far. Great job!

pauldpong 2021-04-27 06:11

Overwhelming at first, had to figure it out through trial and error, but got the hang of it after a while. However, it is well polish and love the art!

hangergames 2021-04-27 06:22

Amazing art and audio! A bit too much information at the beginning. I was really confused. I do need a pause button for this kind of game. The theme is well presented. I really enjoy the idea of dig deeper to get oil. Great work!

nardandas 2021-04-27 06:30

As much as an anti-oil person as I am, interesting game! I felt the lulls in truck shipment times might be better smoother over by smooth production but overall great entry.

valeth2124 2021-04-27 07:23

I don't have much experience play tycoon games, so my judgement may be biased. But it is incredibly innovative. I wish for more guidance at the start (bit by bit information), but the satisfaction when my money grows after digging deeper makes up for that  Good job!

rawrasaur 2021-04-27 07:23

I really appreciate how different this is. Great style too!

valid 2021-04-27 07:27

Wow -- This was great. I love this style of game and this would be fun to play if you both were to continue to work on it.

john-llyod-apolo 2021-04-27 07:45

Take me a lot of time to understand what to do but enjoy the game once I got it :D

martynas 2021-04-27 07:45

Incredible game! The UI and all the different systems that work together had me hooked.

noskro 2021-04-27 08:04

Had the feeling I was doing pretty good ... then I got fired. Guess I missed something :D

lexi 2021-04-27 08:13

Really nice game, loved the chill music in the background! Even though I was a bit overwhelmed at first I got the hang of it quite quickly actually.

The only thing that tripped me up was the oil demand not dropping when my trucks were there, so I thought something was broken, but it might just take a longer time to drop or be more independent from individual trucks than I thought

All in all really cool entry!

rhewid 2021-04-27 08:45

I really dig the art. Easy to get in, really fun to play. Everyone loves it when the numbers go up :D

osterzone 2021-04-27 09:52

Really interesting mechanics, it kept me engrossed for a good while. After the mouth of hell opened the price of oil crashed to $11.50 so my profit rate plummeted, I had to just walk away and leave the game running for 10 minutes to save up the money to put an offshore platform in the centre, which it seemed was the goal. Nothing seemed to happen after I got it but after I left it another 5 minutes I got the win screen and I wasn't sure why. Also it would have been nice to be able to mouse over bars like public sentiment to get the exact percentage. This is pretty minor stuff though, overall a well polished and impressive game.

purpledartfrog 2021-04-27 09:59

Absolutely love this entry... it reminds me of oil imperium and then again ... not at all. I could actually see myself playing a full release of this... Soothing music and effects - really nice and polished graphics. Not that difficult to understand - and beautiful aesthetics... Really good job guys

:purple_heart: :dart: :frog:

dxk2294 2021-04-27 10:05

Thank you for the very kind words and helpful feedback everyone!

We read you loud and clear about the information dump at the beginning of the game. I personally dislike tutorials that do that, but unfortunately due to time constraints we couldn't implement a way to reveal the mechanics naturally over time, so we felt this was our best choice. Maybe we could have revealed the tutorial prompts 1-by-1, rather than dumping them all at the same time? Would love to hear your thoughts!

woergbi 2021-04-27 16:39

Absolutely amazing entry! After losing a couple of times I still had to force myself to stop playing, because otherwise I would be sitting here all night playing it.

feraligatr 2021-04-27 17:23

I hope my sacrifice fits THE ONE well  was really addictive. Simple and clean strategy game :)

numex 2021-04-27 22:06

Greatest game I played so far. Did really enjoy it

luddegodofpain 2021-04-27 22:14

Yep, very well implemented strategy game, which fitted the theme perfectly and innovatively Core mechanics left me wanting though

glitchman 2021-04-27 22:27

What I like the most: - UI system. It really looks and feels good. Yes!

What I dislike (to be honest): - Your tutorial is hard, it could be better. It took me 10 minutes to understand the main mechanics of the game!

Overall, the game is great! I'm still playing it right now...

nephronhunter 2021-04-27 22:51

This game is very addictive.

daf 2021-04-27 23:11

The winning/loosing bugfix made me go for this full env. destrucion + max happyness and storage with every hole covered, couldn't find the win condition. Interesting strategy game, the tutorial should be with gameplay paused tho Immagine.png

tad 2021-04-28 04:41

Really nifty little game! I love these kinds of games where you have to balance a whole bunch of different mechanics and aspects. Well done here! :)

ghost-wave 2021-04-28 07:45

I love management games like this. Great work, I spent way too much time on this.

eden-shazar 2021-04-28 08:00

Great game! Lots of intertwining little mechanics vying for your attention make it hit on a deeper (hah see what I did there) note in the theme. It seems very fleshed out and quite polished for the time frame! Even the balancing got a lot of love. Good job!

humphreysmedia 2021-04-28 15:54

A little overwhelming first with all the UI and information, so I would suggest reducing the amount of information given to the player when they first open the game. But overall, great work and it's very polished!

rhoff95 2021-04-28 16:52

Really impressive and cool game for a compo. Well done.

fadrikalexander 2021-04-28 17:19

The game is fun altough the UI needs a bit more work for a simulation game for example setting the truck to each drill is too much work I guess they should go automatically from a bump to a city in need or at least they can be set globally for all the drills and the tutorial should pause the game, in general the game is really cool and would love to try more when I get some free time

evogengames 2021-04-28 18:17

Very impressive,

only complaint I have is that it was unclear how I lost, didn't see any warning, or the message didn't refer to anything specific, felt kindoff random. Maybe because one of my rigs was dry? I don't know.

OVerall well done!

scruffylooking2121 2021-04-29 00:02

I really enjoyed your game. It took me an embarrassingly long time to see the "+" sign next to the Trucks to add a route. I totally understand why I don't deserve a nice lose screen. Very nice use of theme and humor. Thanks for making it!

swordfish 2021-04-29 00:03

Very nice, I'm sure this would have made a very successful flash game back when those were a thing. Graphics are simple but they really work, nice and clean, the background music is really nice, though I'm not a fan of the really loud foghorn on the tankers.

Would have been nice if you could easily see how many trucks and tankers you were sending to a city on on its page, I found it a bit difficult to manage.

feralpoodles 2021-04-29 01:32

Excellent game, definitely one of my favorite entries I've played!! I loved the ending, definitely didn't expect it lol. I agree that it would benefit from a little more tutorial in the beginning, but I get that that's not super high priority cus of the time frame of the jam haha. Would totally play this if you expanded it into a bigger game, awesome job!! :)

link270 2021-04-29 02:18

Very fun, this is one of the few on here I could see myself playing for a long time. Good job!!

tanner-shelton 2021-04-29 02:18

I love games like Anno 1800 and this hits that same vein for me. Good job on the mechanics and this has that same type of addicting gameplay. I would love to see something like this in full 3d with more mechanics. Great job.

gno-evenimente 2021-05-01 09:25

Great original take on the theme. Fun little tycoon-like game. I would play a full version of this. I was pretty lost at the beginning, definitely needs a tutorial that explains the first steps to get everything started. But it was fun!

animagik 2021-05-01 11:27

Cool.I like these mechanics. This is one of the few games I've played for a long time. Screenshot_2.png

mog13 2021-05-01 12:23

It was a little overwhelming (i am bad at these sorta sim/tycoon games so I didn't reflect that in the score!) but once I got the hang of what was going on I really enjoyed it :) Great atmosphere and vibe, everything came together really well!

peace-of-cake-games 2021-05-03 04:32

Oof, the Board of Directors doesn't even think I deserve a good lose screen....?

That was a pretty fun management simulator! The tutorial could have explained stuff better (and maybe not started the game until I had read everything, since I lost a lot of good stats to that tutorial), but once you do the tutorial once it's not like you need to read it again.

zimny11 2021-05-03 09:37

It's a really awesome game! Great job! The game throws a lot at the player right from the start, so a slower tutorial would be great.

axelrinaldo 2021-05-03 16:39

Reminds me of the flash game Oilagarchy, though this one has a grimmer end. Would love to see a more fully fledged out version of this!

koemeterion 2021-05-06 10:22

Overwhelming at the beginning but very fun and addecting after a few minutes. Nice visualization, good sounds and fun mechanics. I like management games a lot, so this gets a thumps up easily.

itsisaac 2021-05-06 13:16

Holy crap great game! Awesomely addictive and has a delightfull amount of polish! great job <3

deathstorm 2021-05-11 20:16

I really had to figure out in the beginning how the game works and that I have to just bribe everyone ;) After that I really had a lot of fun during my gameplay. I was a bit irritated and confused in the last part of the game, because i didn't know what to do. I still don't exactly know what I had to do, but at least I won :)

In my Gameplay the Oilrigs and tankers where pretty expensive and I nearly didn't needed or used them. I finished with just two oilrigs and an army of trucks.

In general Well Done, good job
