Vast Trivia Of The Void by JorgeGameDev 2021-04-29T03:45:20Z
I really enjoyed this game! It was really fun and had some good trivia questions. It was easy to keep going and going just to see what other questions would pop up. Good job!

I really enjoyed this game! It was really fun and had some good trivia questions. It was easy to keep going and going just to see what other questions would pop up. Good job!
Audio was awesome in this game. Really great job on the announcer and the music. I need to go back and beat it. I liked the physics and the challenges were put together well.
I liked the opening dialogue, as it was very clever. I had a really hard time getting past the first few enemies. I think it was much too difficult at the beginning. And the hitboxes on the enemies and bullets seemed large, so it was hard to dodge past. I think it could be great with a couple fixes.
Fantastic! I really enjoyed the overall idea. Makes me really want a side scrolling action adventure game like this. I think it has a lot of potential and I want to see it again in the future.
There was so much I loved about this game! I really liked the overall design of the art. It was very cohesive to the final result. I got a lot of celeste vibes while playing it. I really liked their interpretation of the deeper mechanic. I really liked how you progressed through the backgrounds, and sometimes jumped forward. All of the effects were very well done. I really enjoyed this game!
I loved the art style! Really good animations and simple effects that really worked well together. I wish I had a controller nearby to play it with. It gave me a hat in time vibes, but with a more cohesive art style. Good job!
This game was great! It was a really fun idea and had a lot of suspense. High score of 46917.. Also, it is a good game name. Our game jam entry has the same name!
This was extremely fun, but also extremely frustrating! I really loved the art and design of the game. And the sound effects were awesome. But I felt the platforms were a little too far for my liking. Reminded me of getting over it.
I liked the graphics and the gameplay was fun. I made the mistake of using shift for attacking instead of E, and sticky keys added an additional challenge. I enjoyed my time while playing though and think you did a good job.
What did I just play! In all of the best ways of course. Great humor and the game mechanics were fun for a change. Great job on the text messages and being able to scroll, and making it more difficult by making you focus more on elbows instead of straights. I don't know if there is anything I would change. I think it does what it set out to do really well.
I liked the art style, and I liked the character. I do think that the character and camera were too close to the ground. It was hard to see most of the time. But I did like the progressions of the puzzles and the game mechanics.
This was tons of fun! I really like how much I felt like a fish playing this game. It was fun chasing them around. The sound effects were funny. I think the only change I may suggest would be to give a way to maybe disable the fish you are chasing.
I really liked the art and the audio. The intro animation was awesome, and I really liked all of the UI elements. The gameplay I think could have used some work. It wasn't the most interesting gameplay loop. But I think with some extra work there, it could be a really enjoyable game.
The beginning was a bit tricky figuring out what I needed to do. When I got it down, I got enough coins to progress, but the button in the top froze my game after clicking it. I did really like the 3d parallax type look though and the side scrolling type of feel.
I liked the look of the sprite and the lighting. I think the character fell too slow, and there weren't super clear clues as where to go next. So I did one part out of order on accident and it made it much more difficult. I also ran into a bug, in the second area and finding the big ball, I went to the wall on the right and got stuck in the wall. I finally was able to get out, but then I couldn't move any longer. But it was a fun experience and good work!
This was awesome! I am a huge fan of celeste and this really gave me those vibes. I really liked the gameplay mechanics, and usually you see one, maybe 2. But here, we got the wall jump, the tether, the bubbles, then electricity for powering switches. This was incredible! I think the only thing that could possibly change is the hit boxes on the spikes seemed a little brutal.
This game had a really cool rotation mechanic. It took me a while to get used to, but when I figured it out it became a really cool mindbender. The monster scared me... Good job!
I liked the look of the graphics, especially the sub. I think it could do with a cursor where you are pointing so you would know where your torpedo would go. Good environment as well.
The game was fun. I second a healthbar for the enemies, but I enjoyed the jumping and physics. One big suggestion I would make, in the "How to play" section, you could change the text to white instead of red. The red is hard to read.
I really like Fire Emblem games so this was a fun surprise. The first two I had a hard time beating the first floor, then the third I had no problem at all. Jut balancing issues, but that is really hard to get right without tons of playtesting from various users, so you did a really good job with the time you had. I enjoyed the music and the art style as well. Good job!
I liked the art quite a bit. I feel like some of the shots weren't extremely obvious on when they should be pressed. It didn't feel like they hit major points of the beat, I mostly was just going off of visual, not musical queue. I liked the sound of the music though as well.
This one was well done, and even more impressive when I learned they did this all in a day. Good job on the art and the gameplay is fun, if not a little bit repetitive.
I liked the look and feel and it was pretty relaxing. Could have been a bit more fleshed out, but I understand the time constraints. I really liked the look of the particles.
After getting past level 15, it seemed to stall in difficulty. I really liked the beginning with the two openings, then it went down to one opening and it was much too easy. There was only ever one poison apple following me. I figured out if I clicked off of the game screen and back on, it would add more apples, which I think was a glitch. But I used this to raise the difficulty and added 8 apples, which is when I lost. I think with some extra polish this could become a really nice game.
I really liked the art. I wasn't super sure on how the gameplay mechanics all tied together. I was buying things but didn't know why. I feel like the feed should have paused while you were reading the tutorials. I felt I had to rush through those due to it constantly running.
I really liked the different gameplay mechanics and the four layers. It was a lot of fun to have fun gameplay breaks. I was having a hard time defeating the bad things with the sword. Half of my swings wouldn't hurt them. But I still enjoyed it overall.
It was fun and I really liked the concept. I think hitboxes could be slightly larger, and it would be nice if the platforms didn't disappear earlier. But I enjoyed playing it. Good job.
The beginning was intriguing and entertaining but it got a little stale for me.
I liked this game a lot. I really enjoyed the mix of strategy you had to use for each individual area when the characters changed and amount of enemies showed up. I think it would be nice if you could click on the character and move and attack without having to choose the other buttons below.
I liked the idea and I enjoyed the increase in difficulty. The art effects and strategy you had to use were all fun.
Really fun game. I need to give it another go. I really enjoyed the music and the intro sequence. Music was probably my favorite part. Good job!
I really liked the idea. I think it is a really cool concept that makes you really keep track of your time. I think it was a bit too slow paced, especially at the beginning. And I do think maybe some variation in the tasks so it isn't on repeat forever, but I really like the basis and ideas for this.
I liked it! I think if the obstacles showed up from a further distance it would be a bit more aesthetically pleasing. I also enjoyed the music and felt it did a good job of expanding on the mood.
I liked this idea quite a bit. I think it gets easier as you go, but I think that could be reversed. I liked the gameplay. Good job.
I really liked the music and the art. One gripe about the art, the red boilers looked like doors, so I didn't know those were to be interacted with. I did enjoy the experience of panic as the water starts to set in. I liked the water effects and rising water as well.
I loved every last second of this game. Super great humor, had me laughing the entire time. I think it was really inventive and fun. Almost nothing I would change.
Overall, I think the character was too large. It made it hard to see everything that was going on. But it was a fun experience.
I liked the overall look and the pulsating eyes. It was a funny game and pretty well put together. The music sounded a bit like it was popping and was having issues, but that was intentional, so when I realized that it worked better for me.
Good job on this one. It was fun chasing around the ore boys and getting their ores. I think any additional mechanics being added would help it feel fun for longer as well, or justify a second playthrough. But I enjoyed it regardless.
Good job on the game. Lots of fun! I liked it after I started figuring out a good tactic to go down further. I think I would change possibly allowing for maybe an area that shows up red of what will be destroyed before an asteroid comes down, so you know what to prepare for. It was fun though.
I enjoyed the overall feel and design of this one. It was a really creative way to explore the theme without doing the same thing everyone else did. I agree it would be nice to have the complete pizza buttons removed and have them complete automatically maybe with a notification. It took me a bit to figure that out. But I really did enjoy it and it would be fun to see future releases with additional areas to explore. Maybe other foods.
This was a pretty fun game. The art style drew me in mostly. And the gameplay was fun. It didn't ever explain the laser mechanic but when I figured that out, it was more fun as I could get deeper.
Reminded me a ton of the older retro games like excitebike. Super unforgiving and takes a lot to master. I really liked the look and feel of the design. Good job.
I love a good rythym game, and this one had a really interesting take on the theme. I liked how the music would get deeper and just feel really off when you hit a note. It really helped you realize how bad you were doing at some points. The pirate song was pretty easy, then I moved onto the Toby Fox one, and I failed miserably. I think it was a bit hard to tell what was coming next.
@studio-gomp thank you for the feedback. I did have a question about your final point regarding the “I can choose to be happy!” line. I think I know what the issue is but I would like to hear your take too to help us understand exactly what was jarring. We wrote the ending in a rush in the last stretch so any feedback is appreciated haha. We didn’t have time to clean it up or really think about some of the dialouge choices.
@studio-gomp Great suggestions! It is nice to have this sort of feedback and I agree completely. I get that same vibe from that line. It will be a good one to adjust to better portray the depth of emotion and hurt that can come from this. I do think the ending is a bit abrupt and has a quick change. We have some ideas to expand on it and grow the story to better incorporate some more realistic ideas and make some of the abstract ideas more plain.
@youhou thanks for playing! As far as the theme goes, the idea was to go deeper and deeper into your dreams. But that wouldn’t be apparent without getting all of the dialogue.
@idan9000 We actually released a bug fix for those hitbox issues, so hopefully they will be resolved. Let us know if they aren't though! Thank you for the feedback.
@fabula-rasa thank you for your feedback! One thing we wanted to showcase more but didn’t have time to implement was the neighbor or person who helps out in the third area. In our official release in the future we plan to focus more on that. So showing the sad side and the bad but also the good of someone who cares and how much that can mean to someone. More so showing the impact you can have on someone’s life. Thank you for playing!
I didn't want the game to end, it was really fun and enjoyable!
I really liked it as soon as I figured out exactly how it would play. I think the only thing I would suggest changing is one of the colors didn't match up with character. Or at least it didn't look like it in context, so it was hard to figure out where that would go. You could maybe even have a practice mode to try out before you play. But I really liked the art.
Awesome game! Really good job. It stinks I died right before the final spider. Oh well, it will give me the opportunity to play it again. I think the spikes could have a smaller hit box and more checkpoints, but other then that, it was super fun and innovative.
I like the idea, it felt fairly simple in some ways. I liked the composition of the 2d on 3d. That was a fun juxtaposition. Art was a good choice for the gamplay.
This one was lots of fun! I really loved the parallax background with the 3d artwork. Excellent job on that one. I liked the gameplay as well. I kept losing as I couldn't take my eyes off the artwork. Good job!
Couldn't get out of the first room so I couldn't fully experience what it had to offer. The game looked good though.
This had a really fun mechanic. I like the turn based strategy. I am notoriously bad at this sort of gameplay style, but the art and the sound were immersive so I didn't mind. Good job!
Pretty short but that isn't a bad thing. Art was nice and I liked the audio.
This was a super fun game. I really liked the mechanic. This is the sort of mechanic that really has a big impact on the overall enjoyment of the game since it relies on it so heavily. My only gripe is that spikes sometimes looked like just a hill. It would be cool to make those out of a different material that the paint stuck on differently in some way. But great job!
This game is deceptively fun! We played this on stream and sort of just zoned out for a while going through and spent a lot longer than we intended due to its addicting gameplay. It was fun to progress and learn how the best way to handle making simple decisions would be. It's hard to stop because you always find another path to go.
This game had a lot of fun humor and interesting enemies. The hop made some movements more difficult then it felt they should have been, but still a fun experience overall.
Good job on this game. I liked the overall playstyle and I really liked the puzzle type of way you had to get out. I don't really know what I would suggest to make it better, I think it stood really well on it's own. Maybe some art variation as you get lower.
Good music, good mood! I do think if there was some additional mechanic or maybe a few more assets it would help me want to play it longer. I ended up just exploring after a while
I liked this a lot more then I was expecting to. I played it until the end. I think if it were a bit more obvious on what would provide a better end result (More profit) it would make more sense. But I did enjoy it, the art was whimsical, and with polish, it could be really amazing.
Super fun and innovative game! I really enjoyed the concept and ideas you had going here. And the audio was great!
My favorite part was the art! I really liked the aesthetic and think you did a really great job with that. It did get repetitive after a while, but I think the base for this is awesome.
This was amazing and absurd and loads of fun. I enjoyed every minute of it and all of the jokes.
Great job! It was relaxing and I really liked the physics and the art. One thing I noticed is it was very easy to stay in the air. I noticed that the sail had some tears and I was thinking it'd be cool if it tore as you flew so it became harder as you went.
One other small note, I would recommend remove the arrow from casting shadows. It casts onto the glider at times and feels off.
I really like the art of this game, which is what pulled me in. I think the weeds came into the hoed beds too fast. It was really hard to keep up on
This is epic! Very deep and very put together. Definitely felt like a settlers game. I also really liked the audio and the graphics. It was fun seeing a thriving little city.
A very interesting game. I liked the premise but I didn't fully understand why I was doing what I was doing. Collecting the items. But I still enjoyed it, especially the music
Great game! I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the overall feel of the game. It was relaxing but not at the same time. It was fairly simple but that wasn't a bad thing. I really liked the option of upgrades at the end. I think one thought I had would be to shorten up the first game you play so you can get upgrades sooner then play with those earlier.
Really fun! Very polished. Also very simple and short. I don't know exactly how it would scale to a larger game in the future, but for the brief of the game jam, it was fun to play for short sessions. Good job on the music as well.
Great job on the art on this game! I really liked the retro vibe. I really felt immersed in the universe.
Super great! I really liked the polish and the gameplay. As well as the art.
I liked the concept! I wasn't sure exactly what to do, but slowly figured it out. It was a fun little game. Wish I could see some more!
I really liked the idea of this game. I felt like I could cheese it very easily though with trapping the guy
I liked the knockback of the various guns. It was interesting to try out the different weapons. Machine gun ended up being my favorite. I would say the game could benefit greatly from a bit more visual design. I like the mirrors edge/superhot sort of vibe going on here. I think if there was just a bit more variance in the elements that show up in the areas. It is just cubes which felt bland after a bit. I would also like to see a second and third enemy type. But honestly, I did have fun with it and I finished it.
I really liked the particles breaking up. It made the game much more interesting seeing all of those exploding out. One major problem I had was the camera shake plus that noise when you break a crystal. It was very jarring and hard to play due to that. But I liked the rest.
The gameplay on this was awesome! I played this one in its entirety and loved it all. Graphics suited the gameplay really well.
Great idea! It was really fun getting to play both sides and control the war from the backend. The animations were all great and the modeling was great too. Good job!
I ran head on to the first blue item as it told me to hit those to blow up my bombs. but it just stopped me. So I think maybe some other indicator to show where to hit it instead of just hitting the whole thing. But I really liked the steering and driving was lots of fun.
Great art! That is the best thing about this submission. My only complaint in regards to the art, is all of the buildings are the same color. Meaning I had a hard time telling what the manor was. I also noticed the guards kept getting caught on walls and I lost but wasn't exactly sure how. I think it was because the night ended? But there weren't any warnings. But a beautiful game nontheless!
Loved the art style and loved the movement of the car! It was a bit simple and really short, so I was surprised when it ended so early. But I did enjoy the game.
This was suprisingly a lot more fun then I was expecting. My first playthrough I didn't do too great, but a second time around, I figured out the colors and which buildings would go where. Then it was a lot more fun. It triggered that desire in me to manage resources like in a city builder. I did get soft locked twice though. Technically it wasn't a full softlock, as I could've just waited for the zombies to finish me off, but I would lose all of my mines and didn't have enough for another building, so I couldn't do anything but wait. But this was a really fun entry!
I enjoyed the gamplay! It was fun, especially when I was able to get going. I do feel like there was a bit of RNG where it all depended on where I placed my building first. So some runs would end right away just because of bad placement. I also soft locked myself by buying dams first.
This game was a lot more fun then I was expecting. I was really motivated to get that plane ticket to only have it... you know. The level would have benefited from a sky light in the scene. That would lighten up the shadows and if you use an HDRI in the sky light, it will also help light the scene more dynamically. But great job on everything!
Was pretty fun! I liked the art. Cut scenes stood out though as being so different. I sort of wish it were all 8-bit.
I was struggling a lot with understanding exactly what I was supposed to do. Maybe not the best player feedback could be a culprit. I did like the idea though.
Really fun! Good job. The first time I played I lost horribly, but did much better the second time after adding a ton of money makers. Even though the graphics were simple, they did their job really well
@pwnofprophecy thank you for the feedback! It may have been that you didn’t have enough influence. The influence you have shows at the top right, and the placeable items are only visible when you have enough to purchase them.
Really loved the art and the gameplay style. I would like to have had some real works as I think that could make it more difficult, and less repetitive.
Good graphics and fun idea! I wish there were a way to start the game over without quitting. I'd probably play it a lot more if that were the case. Also some of the obstacles were unclear, like the torches in the foreground. I figured they wouldn't hurt me because they were also in the background
Very impressive game! I needed to read through your tutorial under the game to really understand exactly how it works. And it feels like there is one intended way to win, so not much strategizing, just follow the same strategy to trigger all of the comms. But it was a very well done game
Amazing job! I really enjoyed all of this. I hope to completely finish the game eventually. It gave me, this is not a game, vibes. Good job! My only critique is it is a little long winded.

This was a lot of fun! I really enjoyed the time playing it. I liked the power ups and it scaled really well.
This was great! Surprisingly so. The art style was a lot of fun. The gameplay was also fun too
It was a bit tricky to figure out how to play at the start, but got better as I played a bit more. I went for a while but seemed to get a bit repetitive after a bit.
I really liked this. Upgrades were really fun. I wish there were more points the bugs flew too, after a while, I could just click in one spot over and over again. I really liked the art and the sounds.
Pretty fun! I loved the art and I liked the overall experience. It was a lot like the game that we made as well so it was fun to see another make a game similar to ours and see your take on it! It took me a minute to figure out the mechanics but I enjoyed it for a while.
I really liked the art style and how it mimicked the jetsons vibe. I also liked the atmosphere and the game loop seemed fun. My main concern was just how slow your character moved, and It didn't seem super apparent where the 10 seconds was included.
I have played your games from previous jams and was really looking forward to this one! Great job on the character art and shaders. It looked really nice. The gameplay was fun and felt promising.
I enjoyed the experience and the art and especially the mood. I was having a hard time understanding directions and whatnot. I couldn't figure out the rotation portion and which way power was flowing. I restarted a couple of times and rewatched the tutorials but something wasn't clicking. But I really liked the concept!
This was really fun and I wish there was more I could play! Fun concept and great art.
This was an interesting game and difficult. I didn't make it incredibly far but I did try to go back and forth. I think if there was a bit of some hints or something to better give some direction it would be easier to make progress. I found myself getting stuck in areas that I think I had softlocked myself possibly or I just couldn't find the way forward
The art on this was pretty epic! I really liked the art, character design, and environment design. Props there to you for getting so many fun assets made. I also liked the gameplay. I wish there was some sort of wave system or break in enemies so I could have a minute to figure out where I wanted to go instead of running backwards endlessly.
I really liked the gamplay. It was very interesting and complicated but still fun. It took me a minute to really realize what was going on, but it was fun to learn and really feel like I was in the world.
This game was impressive and fun to play! I liked the upgrades and the mechanic of falling a floor. Art style was nice as well.
Holy cow, this was incredible! I was super impressed by the gameplay and music. When I started getting upgrades that added electricity or other effects and having those trigger to the beat was so fun. The UI was super cool and added to the feeling of the game as well. Great job!
This was a super fun concept. I really liked the collaborative nature. One problem I had was it seemed like there was some sort of lag. So I would press a key and then it would hit. So it was really hard to keep on beat and make something nice. But fun game!
I liked the audio and the controls. It was pretty fluid but I did find myself falling a lot and starting over. It was a solid entry and fun to play.
This was a really fun idea! I was having some issues where it wouldn't write smooth and was really laggy. This made it harder to draw accurately. It was cool seeing others draw as well. I also would be okay if it actually washed away the drawings after 10 seconds completely. Right now the canvas filled up too quickly.
This was surprisingly fun! I liked the simple art and the simple gameplay. The puzzles were fun and intuitive. I got stuck a couple times but never more then just a time or so. I think you have some heavy aliasing on the text in the tutorial. I think you could try removing aliasing from that or something or try a different type that’ll work better with small text.
This was an interesting entry! I liked the art and the shifting of the timelines. It was a really interesting concept and I liked seeing how things had changed.
Loved the art and the audio. The animations were all super interesting and I liked the two tone color palette you had created. Good entry!
I really loved the graphics! That is what initially drew me in. The controls were frustrating. I was having a hard time lining myself up with the pots and I couldn't get up to the higher tiers so I just stayed on the lower ones. I didn't realize that the carrot had grown so I lost pretty quick at the beginning, but once I realized how they looked when they were grown, it was easier. Amazing job on the art! It was fun and quirky and had a lot of character. I also think the transition between the seasons was super seamless. Great job!
@moonblast to build a repair center, make a couple of robots and keep them alive for a bit to make enough money, then when the repair center icon turns blue, click on it, then click on any of the grid spaces. You will know you can build when you see the highlight of the building when hovering over the grid spaces after clicking the button. That is one thing we hope to fix, is better feedback with the buttons so you know it’s currently selected.
@eidovolta great suggestion! Maybe we make each version a larger version with some adjustments and they move slower or something. That could be fun
Hey Its Boats! Good to see you doing a jam again this year. We entered as well (Alphabean11, link270, and 1minatur)
As far as the game goes, I thought it was super clever. All of the characters were really funny and interesting and the art was great.
Very interesting concept. I wasn't sure how it was working and sometimes my drawings didn't match up at all in any way which was interesting.
I was intrigued from the beginning by the fun art style. I liked the idea and I liked the gampeplay. I ran into quite a few bugs that halted my progress or gave me some issues. Like my trucks would get stuck next to water or stuck in fire. But I did enjoy playing it!
This was a very interesting concept and I enjoyed the simple but effective art style. I thought the idea was a lot of fun. I felt the puzzles weren't so much puzzles though and I beat almost all of the challenges without touching more then half of the components most of the time.
Was difficult and fun and took a second to get a grasp on what exactly to do. When I figured it out, it became much easier and felt like it would progress really well with additional mechanics.
@ahistyap thank you for your feedback! As for V1.1, we actually addressed all of the suggestions you had. You can now beat the game, collusion for combat is better, there are a lot more enemies, tree LOD distance is way better, you can’t walk across the water, and a few other QOL improvements. Let us know if you are able to check out the V 1.1!
@selkieharbour thank you for the feedback! I’ll take a look and see what may be causing that and either fix it or maybe add it to some sort of quality preset.
@ethernalstudio thank you for the feedback! Which version of the game did you play? Was it the newest version 1.2? Or an older version like 1? Let me know as we did quite a few optimizations for 1.2 so I was curious to see if that version was better for you.
Very strange game! I enjoyed it though and liked it for the first while. It did go for a long time though and didn't seem to advance beyond the initial idea. At the end I was just running in circles over and over and that was pretty effective. The art was really interesting though.
Fun concept! It took me a minute to figure out what was I was supposed to do, and a bit to figure out the arrows and exclamation marks. I felt at times that the exclamation marks were too big and got in the way. I really enjoyed the art
