Very Nice Audio and nice artstyle!! Liked your game!

mar3k 2022-04-05 15:50

Great audio and even better art, love the effect and overall design. Great entry.

javasaurus 2022-04-05 20:01

Very nice audio ! Love the art, really challenging and nice to warm up my old cracky fingers when I want to start a massive crunch-time programming session. Love this , going to score quite high I expect !!!!

2022-04-05 20:04

Super addictive game that is so fun, I'm second guessing my career change from internal sales to .NET development.

kepsert 2022-04-05 20:14

I just saw the game on another LDers stream and immediately decided to give it a go - no regrets!

**PROS:** - The graphics are awesome. - I loved especially the sound effects. - Typing games? Hell yes!

**CONS:** - No in-game score counter from what I could tell. - The game gets a little stale at some point.

My bar was still completely full but I was getting a bit bored (Sorry!) after about 10-15 minutes in, so I let the bar run out. Nonetheless, still some of the most fun I've had on an LD game so far! Thank you for this wonderful submission!!

kyra-sanchez 2022-04-05 21:19

Loved playing this, definitely typing a little faster now, for however long my fingers still think they have to type for their lives lol.

filgru 2022-04-05 21:20

Wow, very nice sounds and graphics!! Super fun idea for the game, a bit challenging too. One of the best entries I've seen here so far! Well done!

frasse 2022-04-05 21:24

Great game. Love the graphics and audio and it feels really polished!

The only thing I can say is that I'd preferred if you typed words (at least fake ones) instead of random characters.

laurens 2022-04-05 21:25

Oh my god, this is my nightmare! Very well done though, really fun and smartly executed game! Could work great as a learning tool for kids when developed a bit further. Artstyle and sound are both very well executed, they somehow remind me of point-and-click games of the 90's :)

haastregt 2022-04-05 21:34

Really nice graphics and I especially like the voice acting! I see potential for this to be an amazing way to learn to type, if I would have had this during my childhood that would have been great haha. Good job!

melektaus 2022-04-05 21:42

Pretty addictive game. The gameplay reminds me on "The Typing of the Dead" :smiling_imp:

okamit 2022-04-05 22:32

Really fun game! Amazing graphics and sound design, really set the mood! Amazing polish overall, feels like a minigame from a real released game but works as a standalone title as well!

Also, why practice my typing speed with online typing tools in the future when I can use this? Maybe that would be an interesting way to take this further, making it into a typing speed tool that makes it a lot more fun to practice!

Great work!

starerik 2022-04-05 23:24

Okay, so this game's amazing. Great art, and perfect sounds. Sounds like a great product! It's really hard, though. Only made it to 17 sales. Oh, well!

beats 2022-04-06 02:42

Simple but fun mechanic, I liked the dialogue and the sound design of the telemarketer and the variety of characters. Solid effort all round, thanks for sharing on stream.

xeke-death 2022-04-06 13:20

If I was typing words, I'm sure I would have gotten more than 16 sales. Having the unrelated letters means you have to concentrate because you can't rely on muscle memory. I did like the "WIIIII" one I had to do, though. That was easy.

Nice graphics, and the little animations are cool. I like how the letters are said when you type them, and they sound different every time. And each customer has a "No thanks" audio.

kylazaur 2022-04-06 14:20

@erikengineengineer @mar3k @filgru @melektaus @beats @starerik I'm glad y'all like it and thank yous so so much for playingg!

@javasaurus @kyra-sanchez I'm glad we could give your fingers a workout ahaha

@lydocia If only sales was this fun and easy irl ay

@kepsert Thanks a ton for putting so much effort into it and I hope you wasn't disappointed with the alt ending, I did cap the level so at a certain point it doesn't get much harder so I fully understand it getting stale after some time without much more challenge but I'm glad you could enjoy it enough to get to that ridiculous score, well done!!

@frasse I've seen that been mentioned a lot but random letter was easier to program and left the game more challenging ;)

@laurens @haastregt We was actually joking about the idea of making a childrens/learning game but we kind of did, my son approved of this and even voiced the salesman ahah

@okamit So glad you liked it, wouldn't really know on HOW to expand upon something like this but could be a fun idea but the game YOU worked on for this gamejam, 10/10 everyone here should give it a play

Thanks everyone for your comments, it means a ton

kepsert 2022-04-06 14:26

@kylazaur Haha, it wasn't a problem at all! It was greatly enjoyable, one of my favourites this jam! Will follow your team, looking forward to your next games!

svemir 2022-04-06 14:36

Very fun game, always liked typing challenges. The voice acting and characters are spot on, made me laugh quite a few times!

okamit 2022-04-06 15:02

@kylazaur I think a scoreboard, practicing with real words as well as random words, maybe whole scentences (and perhaps support for loading your own list of words, thus supporting different languages in a way) would be nice!

Different graphics would make it fun as well, with different settings and characters. Perhaps different types of requests as well? Such as one character only asking for verbs or fruits or something else following a theme.

kingofspill 2022-04-06 18:36

This game is a ton of fun! I guess my typing speed must be pretty low because I had a lot of trouble trying to actually get very far. But the I like the little sounds for each letter you type and the little sound bites for each person is cute. Really neat!

adriannowak97 2022-04-06 19:06

I got flashback how I learnt blinedless fast typing- still I'm not good enough :') Nevertheless, I like game style, audio and this challenge. Much more better than typing boring text in browser.

100th-coin 2022-04-06 20:45

I'm a huge fan of the art style, and the voice acting is fantastic! All the little details in the characters are easy to miss since I'm focused on typing, but I played through a second time just to enjoy the art. Seriously well done!

vivyhasadream 2022-04-06 21:45

I enjoy the art style and sfx. I think of the time when I was learning touch typing, and just some time ago, I was looking for fun typing games to improve my typing, but I wasn't able to find one, I think this could be it! Good job!

2022-04-06 22:45

I love the concept of this game i think honestly it's a lot more fun then the typing speed website. the creativity and the originality of this game is def one i will be coming back to on different occasions but for now.. i didn't make enough sales I'm fired.

themadpangolin 2022-04-07 10:28

I love playing a typing game every now and then, but this one absolutely kills it with the humour and silly tone! I don't think there's ever been a game where you can sell insurance or something to a dog over the phone. Really good entry ^-^

forgin-bits 2022-04-07 15:42

Awesome submission ! I loved the art style and the sound design ! Overall it was maybe a bit easy and I would have liked to have a bit more diversity or obstacles in the typing, it took too long before it became a bit hard. And maybe use real words, that could have been funny as well. All in all, that was a great typing game, GREAT JOB !

velvetlobster 2022-04-07 15:43

one of the best interpretations on the theme, so cool

decadedecaf 2022-04-07 16:02

Oh hey, another typing game. I wasn't the only one!

I loved the art and VFX (especially the motivational posters in the back). The sound design & voice acting was so good you had me *intentionally* losing just to hear the dog get angry. Unpopular opinion it seems, but typing individual letters isn't inherently worse than predetermined words. It's definitely harder, but sometimes harder is good! Had a great time with this one; an impressive jam entry.

allax 2022-04-07 16:12

One of the best games of this LD. Visual, audio excellent. The overall concept looks a little simple, but it is executed at the highest level. Great job!

shumarie 2022-04-07 17:00

A very funny game, I like the sounds when answering. Cool characters! It would be a great game to learn how to type quickly without looking at the screen. I type character by character and I can't make more than 12 sales. х)

mateusboga 2022-04-07 18:06

Man this game is so funny! I love the voices and the graphics. Great work on this!

I don't have much to add! For some reason I found myself unable to get better at it, in fact I think I got worse for some reason lol

sopata 2022-04-07 22:01

I like the aesthetics and the humor. I think you guys did an amazing job. I would have liked if there were some booster to get you out of the danger zone one or two times before you actually fail. Nevertheless, a solid entry for this LDJ :)

phillip-scott 2022-04-08 13:21

Graphics and sounds were great - the core game is good, but real words would be both better (for a typing game) and potentially funnier (depending on your word bank)

Good job!

kylazaur 2022-04-09 10:38

@kepsert I appreciate the follow and the kind words <3

@svemir @velvetlobster I'm glad you enjoy the game and enjoyed yourself!!

@okamit Love the suggestions, sounds like beeg scope and I've a terrible habit of jumping from project to project so I'm not sure how well I'd do at expanding ahaha

@kingofspill So happy you had fun with it and don't worry about getting the highest score, I'm not even good at the game and I was the one who programmed it ahahah

@adriannowak97 I'm glad you had fun with it and part of the challenge was the not being words so people that type for all day won't have any advantage as there's zero familiarity :P

@100th-coin I'm happy you enjoyed it enough to play it more than once and I'm a huge fan of details so I always make sure to include them :D

@vivyhasadream I'm guessing we unintentionally made a game that could be helpful beyond just entertainment ay, I'm glad you enjoyed yourself with it <3

@studioterrel Glad you had fun with it and I guess you were just... delaying the inevitable ;)

@themadpangolin I'm glad you enjoyed your time with our entry, our main goal was to make sure we were having fun with it and not taking things TOO seriously and it seems like it worked ^-^

@forgin-bits I'm glad you had fun with it, starts off easy so it's easy to pick up for anyone and everyone and a lot of people are mentioning words but that would of been a little too big of a scope (for me anyway) for this entry but an update could happen *shrugs*, glad you had fun with it though

@decadedecaf Another typing game indeed :P I'm happy for you to notice the little things and replayed to hear the different audio clips ^-^ and yes, seems like it's mixed with "words" and letter but letters was easier for me to code, could of been easier with words if that was the initial idea but it wasn't BUT... the initial idea IS on the itch page, v1.1 if you want to see the difference :P

@allax Thank you a ton for the kind words and I'm glad we could allow you to have fun with what we've done

@shumarie I'm glad you appreciate the humour and I didn't think of it as much as a learning game as I type without looking anyway but I guess for somebody that doesn't, they wouldn't really have much choice BUT to with this or you know, you'd get FIRED!!

@mateusboga I'm sure you did great and the game does get faster so it could of been that it may of been a little tooooo fast, but I'm glad you enjoyed yourself with it :D

@sopata Thank you thank you and the calculations for the bar going up and going down is always the same but as you may of noticed, it favours the customer ;) but I'm glad you had a good time with our entry

@phillip-scott Glad you enjoyed our game, real words would of been to big of a scope (for me) and wasn't in our plan from the start and would of been a little difficult to try and tack it on before the jam finished but I appreciate your feedback ^-^

gabriel-dias-oliveira-de-almeida 2022-04-10 18:22

The perfect humour and the perfect artstyle!

Congratulations guys, for me it's 10/10 because it's so perfect!

Thank you for letting me play your game :D

kylazaur 2022-04-12 10:20

@gabriel-dias-oliveira-de-almeida So glad we could provide "perfection", means so much <3

gaming-night 2022-04-13 14:14

One of the most beautiful game I have seen on this LD for sure. Very polished game on the art side. The game is quite simple but fun to play, with a unique gameplay (also had two different controls in two sessions, one with the whole keyboard, and one with the arrows + WASD, the second one felt more DDR-ish but brings some variety). I'm proud of being able to sold something to a dog :)

anaxie-studio 2022-04-13 16:28

Although I saw you made a new version, I chose to try out the original jam release. I'll try to keep in mind some things have already been tweaked.

The visual style is great, and I love how you made the start button typeable, lol. However, my favorite thing has to be the sound design. It's excellent! The music, the sound effects, the little voice snippets and especially the "letter sounds".

I agree a word mode could be fun, you could even take it further and do short comedic dialogues. Really fun and polished game overall, a full version would be neat! Great job guys, probably one of my favorite entries this jam

4ahizon 2022-04-13 17:21

The artsytle is good with a simple rythm style game mechanics.

rodel77 2022-04-14 17:06

Amazing game, fun, nice graphics and totally polished, reminds me of friday night funkin'

bqq 2022-04-15 15:08

Great graphics and voice acting! The core gameplay loop also surprisingly tense, the variety of characters kept the gameplay fresh. Not sure if I just imagined it but it seemed like the words were a bit different between the characters (eg. the dog felt like it always gave me 4 letter words) but that might just be RNG :D

alks 2022-04-15 15:32

amazing work! Really enjoyed playing this! I really appreciate the effort in sound! Also the art style is really nice and well made! Thanks for making this!

angiemon 2022-04-16 14:53

salesmangame.jpg

Lol, that was a blast (Pic related: my first try) Obviously I'm not exactly secretary material, but I need to show this to my mum who is pretty quick ;D

I LOVED the graphics! Really dig the artstyle, and I also love the rough outlines (with pen pressure) etc., really gave this an artsy look :)

Controls were self explanatory, customers were hilarious, I also loved that the letters are spelled out once you type them, haha.

Real fun!! :) Could be like a learning game for people who have to learn 10 finger typing or something.

I'm sad that I couldn't win this when the bar was a the very right, but that's this jam's lame topic for you, amirite? ^^

It would be really cool if you continued to work an this and maybe add actual words and you should just type good sell words or something (and if you type the bad words there's penality, so you have to write them backwards or something :D)

Cool entry, good job!

andrewkennedy 2022-04-16 23:52

I managed to get 19 calls before I got fired! Awesome humor, and a lot of great subtle polish that made the core gameplay loop satisfying. I liked the animation on the letters, the little pops it made when it changed color, and the audio feedback when typing as well.

ternox 2022-04-18 21:22

Very cool art and design!

porcus-pie 2022-04-19 00:02

This was really polished and a lot of fun! I love the style of the game, with the visuals and audio both adding a lot of charm and humour. The game itself is simple but engaging, with a nice ramp up of difficulty, I had fun. Not sure if there is much replay value, but that comes down to it being a jam game more than anything. I think I would have liked to see an onscreen score, just to add that little bit of extra feedback, but this was just really well put together and I'm glad I took the time to play it, nice work!

mvasko2 2022-04-20 16:30

I never say "no" to a typing game

I really enjoyed it. The graphics and sounds are one of the best I've seen this jam, great job!

I don't have anything to say that hasn't already been mentioned. It does get a little repetitive after a while, but it kept me engaged long enough. Some of the responses were pretty funny.

Also, the game made me a bit depressed about my typing speed and accuracy

Great job overall!

boroboro 2022-04-20 21:14

Amazing entry! The Audio, Art and Humour are all on point!

chriiis88 2022-04-20 21:29

Typing games are my jam and the execution and polish in this one is very good, congratz! That being said, not having real words is a big downside for me and takes out a lot of the fun, unfortunately.

schwede 2022-04-20 22:08

Brilliant! Excellent! Genius simple! I love it!

If you would add a “ka ching” for every successful sale, then you would increase the dopamine on the game. ;)

tanner-shelton 2022-04-21 07:58

Really loved the art and the gameplay style. I would like to have had some real works as I think that could make it more difficult, and less repetitive.
