Holy FUCK, right from the start I knew this game had some serious talent behind it, this has to be the best entry I've ever seen!!!
Where to begin... the artstyle, music, gameplay, mechanics, game loop... this just feels like I bought and played something on Steam! There is nothing bad to say about this, only tips for the steam release ;)
Also, the concept of delivering mail per crossbow is absolutely ridiculous and I love it.
This game has serious potential if you wanna continue working on it :)
The gameplay was real fun and very clear, the feedback was great! (although there can never be too much sounds ;D)
It felt real nice and fast paced to race through the carefully crafted and huuuuge (!) map, while trying to avoid those restricted areas (spoiler: I failed a lot, maybe because I don't have a driver's license... haha)
I LOVED the art and little details, from all the npcs, boats, kicking away cars, animations down to the SUPER adorable credit scene (is that whisteling you guys?) so much love and detail went into this, absolutely incredible. The artstyle is fantastic too, the shapes and proportions kind of reminded me of Deponia but with a much more drawn and sketchy look (which I prefer! The pastel-ish colours were really pleasing to the eyes too!)
The gameplay is very fluid and neat! Also, this is one of the games that incroporated orienting yourself in a way that makes it fun and an integral part of the gameplay (not gonna lie, my orientation skills are somewhere between a blind lobotomized snail and Zoro from One Piece, so usually orientation can be a bit frustrating, to say the least)
Also, the sorting game is flawless! felt like an actual game, really.
I also liked that all the moving cars and the player only looked to the left and right, looked silly but like in a cute and artsy, intentional way :)
Now for the steam release ;)
Much more sounds would be cool :D
Maybe you could incorporate that you can change the "ammo", aka letter colours while driving for bonus points if you deliver them (like, a postbox indicates that blue letters give a bonus, red nothing and green a slight penality in points, or something like that)
Adding different levels like in overcooked would also be cool, I like organisation levels like that :)
There's actually loads more that can be done, like... I don't know.. incorporating a duck zombie apocalypse level where you have to avoid the duck zombies, lol. Like I said, a lot of potential :)
Oh one more thing, I would have maybe liked to have a little minimap around the player (GTA or witcher style) not in a huge radious to still make the maps scattered around the city, but like as a little help, but that I think is really a preferrential thing (maybe there's like an ingame shop to purchase this and other upgrades, but that then takes away from your final score or something) but that is just a preferential thing I think, the way it works now is also nice and works out.
Great game guys, this is a fully fledged game, I'm jealous :)
In the end I thought I was awesome, but I think I only managed to hit Bronze, there is my League of Legends trauma again, haha!
