cool game w cool premise. The grapple controls could use some work tho
really well made game! I enjoyed the chaotic gameplay made even better by the chasing ghost, the island merging effect is amazing! how did you even do that with collision and all that? I truly love the effect! the gameplay is quite hard though, the darn ghost moves too fast for me lol, good job!
Woah, really cool level design. I didn't understand what was happening with the grapple for a while, did not expect it at all. I think it's a really cool idea worth exploring! The art style and animations are fantastic too.

@0x-void-x0 Visually, island merging s actually very simple. Each island is drawn using this texture with additive blendmode so that when several textures overlap they boost each other's brightness. It's basically simple lights.

Then, I feed this to a shader that looks at each pixel's brightness and assigns it a color. This gives it the merging effect, with most work dome by additive blending.
The collisions, however... They sucked big time. While the rendering was done in an hour, getting islands to work, not explode and keep the player in took a full day. In short, the islands jsut pull player into last interacted island when he's not standing on anything. However, this also required a ton of fine-tuning, which I can't really explain, it's *magic*.
A very fun entry with a cool and unique mechanic that is executed quite well!
I also realy liked how the artstyle, it's clean and visually easy to read while it all together really looked nice!
Me and by bf played quite a bit :) The game loop was pretty flawless too, escape the big invincible but slower than you monster while grappling the world around you and try not to get stunned by its minions, and shoot them for points (y).
A fun game with lots of potential, I can also see that with a multiplayer mode being extremely fun (and then add like a quest to do somethingm either there are islands that cant be formed or there is an objective to reach or multiple objectives to bring together by joining their islands and them communicate with team members who distracts the monster when (and you attract it's attention once you're near to the objectives and complete with minimap and everything)

Really love the simple color palette and the art style. Reminds me a bit ob Baba Is You. The animations add such a nice feel to the game and the feedback is very juicy! I was not sure about the hook/grappling mechanic and think it could be improved, but found the idea quite interesting! Gameplay loop is ok, feel like the delivery theme is secondary. Overall you did an amazing job, very cool entry!
Awesome awesome awesome visuals, love the colors, the concept for the gameplay is neat but slightly underdone, and the usage of the weird metalball rendering really give sthe game it's own super unique feeling. I cannot stress enough, I love it.
I wish there was a little more polish on certain features. Lack of audio hurts. the boss is a little half done and the grappling and shooting mechanics could use a second pass to get them really feeling good, but those are all small complaints, I really really like this game and it was a blast to play.
Man I can't imagine how you coded the grapple sequence, traversing the ameoba was always cool. Loved the art style!
The grapple mechanic is Omega Cool, especially that you need to mash to get closer to the other island, the visuals are also super cute.
Really interesting core mechanic! Really like the idea but could use some more feedback to indicate when you lock on to something (or even that something is an object to lock on to) as well as what direction you're supposed to be running away from. That aside, the art was minimal, but charming, and most importantly: used cool rendering tech lol. Could obviously benefit from some audio, but you probably know that. :wink:

what an original idea! great game had a lot of fun! you can add custom objectives to the game and I think the spiderman moos should stay!

Really awesome tech! Super fun to play. If you expand this, it'd be nice to have some quality of life features, like guaranteeing that there is something you can grapple to on nearby blobs. Also, have more of a chance to dodge the face chasing you -- usually if it gets on the screen, it's too late. Really enjoyed it, though!
The overall game is wow! I really love the visual arts and how's the map merges haha pretty creative
for a barely playable game that was a lot of fun. the idea of pulling the areas together was great and the implementation of it was spot on. great work!
It was pretty fun! Had the right amount of juice and satisfying blob animations to keep my attention for a pretty long time.
Though I ran into a bug where two blobs were clearly joined but I was still getting repelled.

@cheesepencil My engine doesn't support web export. Not too fond of html5 anyway. Hell to optimize for.

This is really cool! I like the art/colors, there's a really unique style here. The whole idea is pulling the islands around is neat too. I think some sound effects + music would add a lot.
