* Wow really cool graphics and environment, well done. Reminded me of Satisfactory. * Nice transition effect with the green triangle. * What I thought was iron was just some decoration. Iron looks like a crystal :) * Really nice death animation! * I think I found a bug. I was stuck collecting water no matter where I was. See below. * Hmm well I guess the gameplay is very simple and there is nothing too interesting to do but there is certainly potential to add more elements and make the game more fun. The energy charging is cool, keep that!

@christian-zommerfelds Thanks for playing! That's a weird bug (although I guess bugs are weird by definition). It's not like anything we saw in testing but I'll see if I can reproduce it and make a fix for a more polished version we'll upload some time after the jam ratings period is done.
Did I just read an Aliens (Alien 2) reference!? Oh yes!
I also found the bug that locks you to collecting water to a source, even from far away. I think increasing the player speed (and maybe increasing the distance between resources to preserve the balance) would make the game feel a fair bit better.
This is a pretty cool idea and fits the theme very well. I'm always impressed when I see someone make a game like this in a short time. Good job. I hope you decide to expand on this one.
@ilikescifi Username checks out.

Very nice graphics! Nice concept and design. For me you move a bit to slow and the speed at which you can 'die' is also pretty slow. Pretty simple mechanics. I think this would be a lot more fun with some more action like things running around or something like that. Overall nice game!
@trev3lyan Do you have any info on when/what you were doing when the bug happened? Just looking for a way to reproduce it. And thanks for playing! We have discussed developing it a bit further to put in a lot of the ideas that were left on the cutting room floor.
@alurian Thanks for taking a look! @lenny-rudeberg and Tegan really did some great work on the graphics side of things! We probably needed to increase the resource consumption rate to provide more of a challenge. Also, having the robot be able to run but increasing the energy drain while doing so could be a good idea. Thanks for the feedback!
@human-writes-code sorry, nothing stood out about what I was doing. I mined one set of crystals near the charger, and then collected from one of the closest water sources (it looks like the same one as in @christian-zommerfelds' screenshot).

Wow for how much is possible in the set time. ambience audio is a bit lacking IMHO, but all in all, great entry.

Those lousy modern browsers with their wimpy attitude...
Runs fine one windows though xD
I had to set my mouse sensitivity super low and even then the camera behaved... irratic? Maybe tone that down a bit as the rest of the game is rather low paced and yeah i just didnt like it xP
I really wish there would be more happening. But the Game looks great with the particle effects, the models and the "ruined" base.
I was half expecting to fight an alien queen in that power-loader. In all seriousness, I liked this a lot. I wish there was a bit more to the resources in the game but for a game jam, I think this is all it needs. Sound design was surprisingly good and I found the visuals really appealing.
Very enjoyable, I only wish that the robot moved faster
As a huge Satisfactory No Man Sky fan, I loved this game! For me it was a mix of both. Good job!
@xparker Thanks for the kind words. Yeah, the ambience audio was a late addition and could have done with a bit more love. Thanks for playing!
@taran95 Thanks for playing our game! Poor RIPLEY 9000. Little known fact - it stands for Resource Investigation, Procurement, Lasering and Extraction by Yutani. Gotta love a backronym.
@willoxs Browsers, what are they like?!?!? Yeah, the mouse sensitivity is a bit of a crazy bug. It's only an issue in the built game so we'll try to do a bugfix for it. Thanks for playing!
@real-flamingicecubegames Thanks for the kind words and thanks for playing. If only we could have had a LEGALLY DISTINCT alien fight! We did have a plan for enemies but they we knew we couldn't do them properly in the time available. Maybe we'll add them in a future release.
@stupidhobbit Thanks for checking it out! There will definitely be a future version where RIPLEY can run (but it'll consume more power).
@thecoconutdream Wow! Now that you mention it, I can absolutely see the comparison between this and NMS/Satisfactory. Oddly, neither of us took inspiration from those games (at least not consciously) but the influence is clearly there! Thanks for playing.
Just a heads up for @trev3lyan and @christian-zommerfelds - I did a bug fix for the laser problem that you both ran into. Thanks for letting us know about it!

Like some people before me already said: The Robot walks a little too slow. Apart from this, I have to say that the game has a lot of potential and the setting is exhilarating. Well done!
It's a good atmospheric game, I like it! It's unique and original, the visual and sound are wonderful. You've done a great work, thank you for it!

I was pleasantly surprised to see another charging station on the other side of the map after trekking all the way out there, but I sadly collapsed there as I couldn't also deposit my resources there. I also really loved the look of the robot, and the general aesthetics of the environment, nicely done!
Like with a lot of people the robot did move a bit slow. I feel like adding some form of upgrade system, like increased carry capacity, speed and energy reserves could be something to look at

I really enjoyed this one, nice art style and atmosphere, and you got me hooked collecting resources until my poor robert expired!

Very nice, solid work, I didn't encounter any issues. The Power Loader model was nicely animated, especially when it falls apart.
From a balance standpoint I may have made it easier to stockpile resources at the beginning, give the player some hope. Then later as they have to venture further from the base to gather resources they realise the inevitable ;p
Great idea for a game, liked the graphics and audio! I also found a bug that's not so bad, where I was stuck collecting iron, but I think I ran out of water as it happened so I failed anyway. I wish I was a little faster there was a way to sprint and use up more energy. But loved it!

Liked the graphics, the diferent grass and flowers added to that. Good idea but, for me, it was very stressful when you walk far and ripley just didn't go faster than 6km/h :(. Though I enjoyed while it lasted :)
Really cool game. One of my favorite entries so far :). Only problem I had, was the mouse pointer would not lock to the game. And, having multiple displays, it would move to other displays at times. May just be an issue with my machine.

It was a pretty game with pretty graphics! The eye movement is peaky, so those who are sensitive to 3D shaking will probably get drunk. From the player's point of view, I would like to see a little more movement speed, but I thought it was a reasonable speed for the appearance of this robot. A good game with an easy to understand concept.
@sayurinyooko Thanks for playing and thanks for the kind words!
@skylife Thanks for playing! We think it has some potential, too, so we're going to add a few more things in the future to more fully flesh it out.
@cievers The remote charging stations were a late addition to the game. We didn't think it would be very fair if players were punished for venturing further out (which is kind of necessary in the late game anyway). Thanks for taking a look!
@jesse-martin Yeah, upgrading the robot was an idea we had on our "nice to have" list but we never really felt like we could implement it in the time frame in a way that was satisfactory. Maybe we'll put that in version 2. Thanks for playing.
@tekniqau Thanks, mate!
@martink Stockpiling resources is a great idea and would allow players to venture further away (and we could put some more interesting stuff near the edges of the map). Thanks for playing!
@albionbrown Thanks for playing. There was a bug like that which I patched yesterday. I tried replicating your issue in the current build and I couldn't do it. It might be still there or you might have been on an old build (I know that comments seem to appear quite a long time after they were posted for some reason). If you could provide any more info on what/when the bug was triggered, I'll take another look.
@re-lo Yeah, we intended there to be a certain stress and risk with inevitably having to wander further away to get resources. The robot speed was supposed to be part of that. Clearly, though, we need to add a second speed (a run speed) so that players feel like they have more agency. Thank you for your feedback!
@brainwavecreations The cursor locking issue sounds frustrating. It was built and tested on machines with multiple monitors, but clearly there are some conditions we missed where the mouse can lose its lock state. I'll look into it. Thanks for your kind words and feedback!
@riyadazo Yeah, there are some things we can do to improve the experience for players who are sensitive to motion in 3D games. We'll have to think about that for future versions. Thank you for playing!

A great game. I liked it! No Man's Sky on minimal x) Good job!
Very cool project! The animations were so satisfying. The mech's walk SFX was a bit much after a while, but it fit perfectly with what I would expect. The overall art fit very nicely together and it looks great. Well done!
This game is beautiful! The lovely fresnel ground shader, the gorgeous waving alien grass, the plucky and stylistic main character, the polished UI - amazing job! Love the details, like being able to use tree growth to spot underground water, and planning your route to find multiple resources near a recharge pad. I very much enjoyed my time with Ripley in his strange, lonely paradise.

Nice done it with the Shooting game, more nicely would be if you can make your own base that would insane and upgrade sametime your MainRobot :D
@elvinn Thanks for playing!
@woahitsjeff Yeah, we should probably turn the footsteps down lower or add some variation. Thanks for taking a look!
@bios3008 Great ideas. Probably a bit too much to get done in the jam, though. Thanks for playing!
@ugly-robot Thanks for playing our game! We're really happy with how it ended up looking. In the future, we'll release a more fleshed out version that adds a bit more of a need to plan your route, too.
really cool idea and nice looking game. cool death animation. my issue is that the bot moves too slowly so you wouldn't explore too far

Nice screen transitions between the scenes, also I loved the graphics and the world that you have been able to create in this short period of time.
It is an amazing entry, good job :)
Wow the visuals are off the charts! The world looks beautiful and I'm impressed with all the 3D models used. The bot moves a bit slow and the game can use some balancing but overall great job on the polishing. Love the transitions too.
Beautiful game! The graphics were simple but effective, the sound effects and background music really conveyed the feeling of hopelessness and futility. Right from the start I could tell that I wouldn't be able to keep the resources topped up for long but I used every last bit of energy to try and succeed. The gameplay fit the theme perfectly and was really helped by the level design. You start the game and notice how slow the robot moves, and then you see all those resources off in the distance that you need to succeed, but you know you'll never be able to reach.
My only issue with the game is the lack of a score tracker to show how long you survived. I feel like I lasted pretty long but I don't have a number to check how I did.

ripley_close.jpg
So. Freaking. CLOSE. NOOOOOO T____T Ripley doesn't feel so good :(
A cute, fun entry! Really like that little cute, robot, like Wall-E's cousin :)
An adoreable robot who tries to fight against the inevitable is simultaneously so cute, inspirational and depressing, lol.
Great take on the topic :) I liked the gameplay! Because the robot is not the fastest you have to carefully plan your trip and remaining resources, so while loading Ripley I kept checking the environment for the closest nodes and made careful calculations about the best route :3 (Obviously unsuccessful in the end :( )
graphics look pleasant to the eye and I liked the harvesting animation with the little laser ray and everything
Things that could have been improved but I assume that simply wasn't possible because of the well-known tight deadline in Ludum Dare:
Traveling: Sometimes there's not much to do because ripley travels and you just have to wait which can become a bit boring, but I totally get that this is something too much to implement in a gamejam. If you would have had enough time, you could maybe like implement a little "minigame", like every few step there is a prompt and the player quickly has to press a button and either gets a pentality of hes too slow or misses it (stumbles/loses a resource, or a variety of possible outcomes and that gets a dice roll or something), and if he does it right, gets rewarded by a little hop forward or something :)
Introduction Screen: would have liked if you'd set up a little scene (just duplicate the scene you already have, point the main cam towards an interesting spot, place ripley there, give him an animation controller that just loops the animation you deem look the best) and but like a hovering sci fi box somewhere (so leave some empty space in the image, might delete some assets) and this already looks nicer and if you put the 3 nodes there player can already look at them :)
All in all, splendid gamejam entry - congrats on finishing your game guys!
@aka-black-dog Yeah, movement speed seems to be a common issue especially if it's stopping you from exploring. Thanks for playing!
@muriel Thank you for your kind words and thanks for playing our game!
@specturnal Glad you liked the look of the game. We agree with you wholeheartedly about the other issues. We have plans to add more to the game and improve on the balance. Thanks for playing.
@skleembof The things that you commented on are all things that we hoped players would see and experience! The score tracker idea is a good one!
@angiemon Thank you for the extensive feedback! We love your suggestions, too, they would really add some (much needed) variety to the gameplay experience. We'll keep them in mind as we work on the game a bit more. Thank you for playing!

Hey this is one of the best 3d entries I've come across so far, good job!
@slecornu Wow! That's very kind. We've played some great games this LD but I think we've all been impressed by a 3D game called Moth. You should check that one out: [https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/moth](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/moth) by @beefsock
A bit hard to tell what is harvestable or what is not, and I wish the bot would move faster (even in exchange things deplete faster) I'd also like to see a timer on the resources so I can more accurately know what I need most! Great game!

The robot feels juuust a little bit too slow, and it is sometimes hard to see what is harvestable or not. Nevertheless its still a great game, good job!

Where alien? xD
Fantastic graphics work! Even the UI is really stylish. The soundscape is also excellent, apart from the walking sound which is a bit annoying. The environment, music and concept in general blend together nicely creating a very distinct sci-fi mood.
The gameplay loop is build very much around the theme of the jam, however I personally find it a bit boring. Walking around the map is quite slow and uneventful, and the management of the resources and energy feels a bit tedious. Perhaps an ability to sprint at the cost of consuming more energy and gameplay variety like enemies or environmental challenges could have been added to spice things up a bit?
The core gameplay works well tho (controls, resource gathering etc) and for two person team there is a decent amount of content considering the graphics and audio are very polished. A great entry overall, keep up the good work!

Thank you all for playing our game, had a great time working on this with @human-writes-code and @tegantiu for LDJam 50. We couldn't be happier with the feedback we received, most of which reflected our own desires for the game but was put aside to focus on release something stable.
That being said we are currently experimenting with a 2.0 build which includes new creatures and features which were previously left out. Hopefully we get to share the build with everyone in the near future :)

Cool stuff!
Would be great to buy upgrades (for example Ripley being able to dash, carry more, or move faster in general) for the ressources (and then you have to like ponder and make up your mind if it's worth the risk, how much will you usw - risk vs. reward type stuff :)
