I really love the artwork in this game, unfortunately I struggled to workout how to play the game properly

I really love the artwork in this game, unfortunately I struggled to workout how to play the game properly
There's a lot of really good things in this game. Super fun, well done!
@iferit Thanks for the feedback! Yeah we thought of similar mechanics and better UI options but we ran out of time unfortunately.
Wow! super impressive, very fun and easy to play. Also the intro theme song is amazing!
Artwork is really cool and the trailer was quite funny, had trouble with the controls and trying to workout the game play
Great game, love pixel art so art style is a plus for me too
Bravo! best game I've played so far.
Very cute game, first time I couldn't work out how to feed the monster and fell off the edge haha, second play though I worked it out no probs
This song has become a part of my life now! Found the game surprisingly addictive once I worked it out
Seems cool, but the controls felt inconstant to me and I couldn't seem to attack enemies
Great game, simple mechanics, easy to play for ages if you wanna try beat the hi score
Had a lot of fun playing this one, everything about it is great!
Loved the design and music, controls worked well though I struggled to understand how to progress through the game at the start.
Very addictive and cute looking game, balance is great too
@sigmath-bits I was advised to avoid copying Wellerman though I may have snuck a little bit of the chorus progression in there XD
@patsui Thanks! This is the first time I've ever made anything in the pixel art style, I really enjoyed designing the game in this style and would be keen to do some more in the future.
The theme of this game is amazing and the feeling of wanting to push through all the clutter and stress inducing enemies works into that as well. This is a perfect example of games being art well done.
Good game concept and visual storytelling, it was easy to play and fun to see how deep I could go
Very entertaining, thanks for the laughs.
This game is insanely good, the level of detail and mechanics you've implemented is masterful. I only wish there was a less steep difficulty curve.
Always love point and click adventures, this game ROCKS! (sorry for the bad pun)
Great graphics and animation in this one, gameplay was really smooth too, had a lot of fun.
Catronaut is super adorable. This is really fun platformer with a twist, I enjoyed double jumping around trying to get my timing and aiming just right, unfortunetly my lack of coordination means I didn't get very far. The game design is top notch, I really liked the music as well.
Unfortunately I couldn't work out how to play it properly, concept is cool and the graphics are really nice though.
Impressive work! I really liked the design and art in the game. The look and feel of the water amazing and the music is great too.
Fun game, I enjoyed trying to out run death for as long as possible. I did find a bug where I got stuck on one wall in a room as I got further through the house, I ended up dying coz I would only rotate on the spot without moving. Aside from that I think is a super impressive entry.
Talk about starting a game on hard mode :)
This game is super impressive! from the visual style and design to the concept and game mechanics, it felt complex yet simple enough to enjoy.
Though I did find myself struggling to follow the rhythm game while avoiding getting hit from the bosses attacks, I couldn't help try again and again to improve my skill.
It was a truly innovative experience, bravo.

Thank you all for playing our game, had a great time working on this with @human-writes-code and @tegantiu for LDJam 50. We couldn't be happier with the feedback we received, most of which reflected our own desires for the game but was put aside to focus on release something stable.
That being said we are currently experimenting with a 2.0 build which includes new creatures and features which were previously left out. Hopefully we get to share the build with everyone in the near future :)
There's a lot to appreciate about this game. For some reason I couldn't feed any wood to the fire in my first attempt, however on my second playthrough everthing worked great. Good job, great animation, game design and sound design, really felt like the gripping cold would take my life at any moment.
That was good fun, I like the voxel design and layout.
Thanks for creating a fun and very addictive game! The fact that you've put together a game with multiple stages, interesting design, great artwork and music is super admirable. Only thing I would add is a small breakdown with the controls and mechanics. This is one of my favorite entries :)
For only four hours worth of work you've done an exceptional job
Concept, artwork, music and humour are stand out factors in this game. It was surprisingly super fun and found myself playing it for longer than I expected once I got the hang of it. "S Rank! Bravo you and the money are long gone" :)
This is a really well designed and balanced stradegy game. The tower defence setup with the Tetris layout worked great, I definitely found myself testing out different layouts and approaches in each play through I attampted.
Interesting concept, loved the low res style and how expansive the world felt. Interacting with the hornets was fun too, found myself flying around exploring for a few play throughs.
Cool idea and well balanced, gotta couple good plays out of it.
Momma mia! the art style, graphics and humour are superb here. I did struggle to read the introduction story coz of the font choice, aside from that the game was a fun experience. Well done!
The game was an interesting experience, after collecting a few rabbits and other creatures I started to get a little lost trying to work out what else the game my have to offer, the humour from the pop up text kept me going though. Art style and graphics were really cool, good job!
This platformer gave me a lot of Portal vibes. Depending on the mutation you get the game can be very tricky, but I found myself wanting make it through each new level so I kept trying till I made it to the end.
There's a lot of really nice level design in here and different enemy robots scattered around each level are a good touch too, well done!
I got as far as finding a key, but unfortunetley moments later my time had run out. The artwork and design are the real standout features here, I enjoy the Castlevania-esque game design too. Good work!
Very well done for your first game jam, congratulations! I didn't have any errors it seemed to run well and I was able to save about a handful of the population. Thanks for the game.
So there I was running around aimlessly for 10 minutes trying to work out what I was doing, and from out of nowhere I got a proper jump scare from the monster XD
The atmosphere and music made it feel like a classic horror film.
Overall this is a decent platformer, easy mechanics and nice difficulty progression which scales up as you continue on. Also liked the intro story and music too, thanks :)
The audio in this kept me playing for quite a while, best dog sound fx I've heard in a while lol. I really liked the artwork, animations though I felt very sad to see the man leave the free dog sign at the start :(
Audio and graphics we awesome, I found the controls a little tricky but it didn't detract from the your game design. Good stuff!
Yay! it took a couple tries but I saved Dave's diet :) It was a fun and simple game, you've done a really great job with the artwork and animations in the main game and title screen. Good stuff!
This game was a lot of fun. Enjoyed the retro art style and the challenge of trying to clear the board while keeping my timer alive
I do enjoy these types of games so this was a lot of fun for me. Great artwork and design, you also get extra points for making a Boba game 😊
Cool/fun game, love you charater artwork and design. I found the controls to be a restrictive and unforgiving sometimes though.
Cool! really liked the concept, music and art in the game. The intro was great too.
Wow, thank you all for your wonderful feedback, I'm glad everyone enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed making it. There was definitely a few ideas left off the table which had planned e.g. placement outlines, more diverse stages, even a high score timer. Regardless I think we were all very satisfied with what we achieved. 😊
Very impressive game! Had a lot of fun playing this, the art style and assets are top tear and the music is fantastic.
The artwork and design of this game is beautiful, had a lot of fun pushing and pulling my bubble around to get them across the map.
Wonderful puzzle game, very addictive. Great job!
Great job! I really liked the concept but struggled to get a grip of the controls and mechanics before the water level started to rise and never made it too far.
Amazing idea here, once I got the hang of the controls I felt like a bad ass defeating wave after wave of critters.
Cool game had a lot of fun exploring. Love the artwork and style and your music/sound design great too.
This game put me into a meditative state, love the cute art style and the music was great!
Very fun and light-hearted game, played it through a few times to see if I could beat my high score.
The concept and music for this game is very cool, found it very tricky to work out how to build some items and objects though
I tried my best to satisfy the Harvest Goddess but she's just too needy. I do enjoy a good farming game so I had fun with this one, the art and animation is top tier and super cute too.
Fun little puzzle game, I'm glad I was able to free all my little Cthulhu demon babies :)
Good game! Art was super cute and funny and the music was great. Had a lot of fun with the gameplay too, I did experience a bug on my first run where after I got killed by the first boss, it sent me to the final boss when I clicked "try again"
Aside from that I had a great time and tried it on every difficulty, great job!
I'm not much for jump puzzles but this was fun, liked the music and sound design. Good effort.
Very fun platformer, music and art was very cool. Good work!
I did it, I beat the kid and saved the demonic onions! Great game, good balance of difficulty scaling and stradegy. I had a lot of fun playing this.
Really cool game here, love the character artwork and descriptions. I wish there was some kind of aiming guide line as I had trouble with my accuracy, I still had a lot of fun though.
Simple yet beautifully made game, artwork and theme was also on point and the music was also very pleasing to me. Only thing I would critique is that I feel the match should end once you or your opponent has won a majority of rounds, but that's not super important. Well done!
This puzzle game almost broke my brain, it's like patting your head, rubbing your belly and tapping your feet all at the same time XD. I believe I completed it, all the lights turned on but I could still freely move.
All in all it's a wonderful puzzle game, especially for a solo effort. Great job!
The Artwork in this is amazing and the sound design is great too. I was able to finish the game by random chance, felt like something was missing though, not 100% sure how everything connects together
Super fun and cute puzzle game, thanks for making this I had a blast!
Artwork and style is brilliant in this game, however like others I did struggle with trying to find the right combo for drinks very early into the game which made it hard to get into a rhythm.
That being said this great for a first time entry, keep it up!
Great little maze game, had fun exploring around and even became a little obsessed with checking every corner to see if there were any extra easter eggs laying around. Character model is very cute and I loved his little run animation with the particles popping up. GG!
Very funny and it looks great too. I did beat the game but a lot of the time I was just guessing because I wasn't sure what was right or wrong melodywise (not 100% sure how I was supposed to interpret the musical notes on N,S,E,W, the equation in the middle of the platform and how that relates to what the NPC's were playing) That being said I still had fun and really loved the funny sound design too. GG!
So much good stuff going on here, the whole team has done some impressive work to achieve this within such a short period of time. Really loved the various characters and their voices gave me a good laugh as well. I could spend forever exploring the magestic open waters and islands of your game. GG!
Very interesting concept here, at it's core it's quite a simple mechanical game with tones of film and vfx work to make it really pop. I did get stuck on the cigarette puzzle at first, but then I watched that section of your walkthough video i got a better understanding of what I need to do to get through the rest of the game. Great 80's/90's TV references, the FMV green screen elements are my favorite part, GG!
Nothing like a bit of DOOM scrolling. Interesting concept, got a few bad vibes but struggled to find many. Love the 90's photo capture esthetics and feel of the game. GG!
Nice puzzle platformer, I enjoyed balancing the mechanics of the ufo as well made the game both fun and challenging. Love the music and art, the intro transition into gameplay was epic. GG!
Oh the horror! Gave me a good jumps scare unexpectedly 😅. Well done, artwork is great and the atmosphere and sound give it a very spooky vibe. GG!
Not gonna lie the tremolo and vibrato animations were a bit sus 😂. I honestly could have kept playing this game for a while if there were more levels. You've made such a fun and unique game here, it's a great way to teach people how synth waveforms work and gives them a basic understanding of digital music processing as well. Thank you for making this game. GG!
This is a very polished game, love the aesthetics and the game feel. Reminds me of classic Mega man platforming with a modern twist, your whole team has done an amazing job. GG!
Very cool concept with great visuals, both fun and challenging to play. GG!
This is the perfect kinda chill for me post jam. Great job, both aesthetics and theme were on point for me.
Great simple, fun game. I really enjoyed the moody synth music that plays when you finish a level. Atmosphere and art is also great. GG!
Cool simple game, did get annoyed at the amount of times I failed but itwas fun no the less. GG!
This was good fun, love the artwork and design for this game. The first level was a little confusing for me as I wasn't sure what the challenge was but the difficulty ramps up quite well after that making much more engaging. GG!
Great game, had to run through it once to get a good understanding of how it all works, but I had a nice clean run on my second attempt. Really like the concept here, it has a very intriguing espionage narrative experience which you were able to tell through just using a radio and notepad, I can imagine the idea could easily be expanded in a larger game. GG!
Nice simple game with a cool concept. Like other people have said they artwork is amazing. GG!
@janinna21 🤣🤣 Thanks, yeah the phone could definitley be bigger and also have like an arrow or something indicating where it is when you drop it. Glad you enjoyed it.
@francaaa @pavel-goncharov @makintosh @spliddo @zimennik @pastry-chef @mortith @jo-bettaque Thanks for playing our game guys, We updated the game so now you shouldn't get stuck anymore and the dodge ball guy spawn in different places now too. There's probably a few other bugs in there and we wanted to have a scoreboard on the Game Over screen that shows how many texts you sent to your mum but we ran out of time to impliment it properly.
@500 Glad you enjoyed it. It kinda reminds me of trying to do two things at once, like patting your head and rubbing your belly at the same time 😂
@kintsugi lol, thank you. I’ve played some pretty good games that I feel are much better than ours, we really appreciate your feedback.
@strainer Thanks for playing our game. I wasn't able to replicate the same problem, you need to stand in the red circle to input the arrow keys. Also it's very small but if you drop your phone, you need to pick up before texting too. We didn't get a chance to finish making a tutorial/how-to-play scene, I think this would've helped alot.
@astroaceone Thanks! 🌞 Yeah, the phone does get in the way from time to time.
@barbapapa That's great! I'm glad you could pick it up quickly, especially since we didn't get a chance to create a tutorial scene for the game 😅. Thanks for your feedback.
@yoko-san Yeah there are still some subtle bugs here and there, the audio bug is one we're still trying to work out. Funnily enough we did originally have the phone collide with the dodge ball, it would knock the ball away but bounce the phone out of the map so we chose to get rid of it.
@dvan1337 Really appreciate your feedback. It's definitely a notable issue, if we removed the spawn point in that corner and maybe adjusted the phone graphics size it might make it less of a problem.
@jiamu-zhao Thanks, I hope you enjoyed playing it 😊
@owi @crimsontrouper @dvan1337 @agent-p Thanks guys! All your feedback is super helpful, we were able to fix the audio bug and adjusted the in game phone size so it's easier to see now. Also scaled down the UI so you can see the whole play area and slowed down the enemy spawn rate slightly (could probably be slower still 😅). The phone getting stuck isn't a simple fix with the way we put everything together for the jam. I'll probably rework it all if I choose to do a larger build of this game in the future.
@matt2728 Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it, I'll try remember to build a tutorial page next time I build a game like this 😅
@nadia-pixel Thanks! I did think of adding controller support, it wouldn't be too hard to impliment either.
@irkar Thanks. Having health recovery after replying to a text would definitely help with the difficulty of the game.
@dylan-shumway @3blackpixels @grimslinger Thanks for the feedback
@panduplan Yeah we did wasnt to add a visual cue for the dropped phone but we ran out of time
@unreststudio Appreciate your feedback. There are few things that could be improved with the phone but we ran out of time during the Jam. We'll probably overhall it if we decided to work on the game further post jam.
@afro-code Thanks! The newtro look was definitley intentional, we looked at late 90's phones and I used Megaman Legends as inspiration for the character design
@wuppos Thanks! Yeah the phone definitely needs an indicator for when it's not in your hand anymore and if I had more time I would've liked to balance the enemy spawning and attacking better.
@kkkyia @fnelix @akapythius Thanks for playing guys 😊
@beats Thanks for checking out our game, if you get hit by a ball the player drops the phone and you have to pickup the phone before you can use the arrow keys in the bubble.
@allax We did actually write code for the text messages to be displayed on the game over screen but we ran out of time to impliment it properly. There are a few things I'd like to adjust if I worked on a post jam build. Thanks for your feedback.
@madbarron Glad you enjoyed it. A couple people have commented on the arrow keys but I haven't been able to replicate the issue. I think it's because it's unclear that you lose your phone when you get hit by a ball and need to pick it up before you can text again (we ran out of time to make a tutorial).
@ao-85 Thanks for checking out our game
@guyunger Thank you for the feedback 😊
@madbarron Awesome, thanks for checking it out again
@anszwa Thanks! Definitely gonna continue working on it post jam and try expand the game, even if it's just for a learning experience to improve my dev skills
@valb-soares Appreciate the feedback, a few people have mentioned this. It's actually an unclear game mechanic that we never properly indicate in the game because we ran out of time. If you get hit by a ball, you drop your phone and need to pick it up before you can use the arrow keys to text.
@ethan-allwood Thank you! @tegantiu did a huge favor for us putting the comic art together for us last minute. It could definitely use some balancing and spacing for the enemy spawning and throwing so it doesn't feel super challenging and random. I'm hoping to revisit the enemy mechanics and game loop post jam.
This is a very good Overcooked clone game. Graphics, audio and general game feel are on point. There were some minor bugs for me and sometimes it wasn't clear how I should prepare the food but aside from that you guys have done a great job.
Very very funny, great graphics, music and game feel. Reminds me of Crazy Taxi and Tony Hawks. GG!
Gotta love a fun memory/pattern game. I messed up a few times at first because I didn't realise you could push more than one key at a time, but I had a bit more fun once I got the hang of it. GG!
@universeflow on my first play though I got something like 290, but by my last play though it was closer to 4,600 🌞
Awesome work! This is a very cute/fun puzzle game. At first it seems like a very simple RTS type game, but over time it becomes more complex trying to judge the distance between each bots signal especially when you introduce the different towers. The music and art was great too. GG!
Fun and interesting concept, reminds me of wario ware mixed with a dark psychological horror twist. GG!
Bravo! You got me hooked on this one, I could play this game for hours. GG!
You had me at fish. GG. you-son-of-a-bitch-i-am-in-you-son-of-a-bitch.gif
Well done! This was a lot of fun, it was hard to keeptrack of my attacks at first but after a few tries I got into a good rhythm 😆. Loved the mini rhythm game as well, I kept misclicking the inputs because I was trying to play in time with the beat but that's not a huge problem. GG!
As other people have already said, you guys have done a steller job with the artwork, music and presentation of your game.
Great job, good sense of challenge. I had a lot of fun exploring around digging up survivors!
There is so much to this game and it's all executed very well, I'm very impressed by the quality of your game. GG!
Great visuals and animations, reminds me of the old school arcade game Crazy Taxi. The default setting made it run a bit slow on my pc, but as soon as I turned off motion blur it ran fine. GG!
Your game is simple, fun and very polished, you've done a great job with your presentation and game feel. You also have a very well designed and implimented menu/pause screen system. GG!
Great simple little game. Very funny, great artwork and game feel. GG!
Wonderful game, great art, animation, audio and gameplay. The game progression is balanced really well and challenging but rewarding at the same time. GG!
I have no idea how you developed such a polished game for the Compo, well done! I do understand what other commenters are saying but after a couple moments of trial and error I got the hang of it. Great job. GG!
Nice one. The mini games were fun and the artworkis great! GG!
Good simple fun game, randomly rolling for the different units and buffs is very interesting idea. Love the artwork and animations. GG!
Cool! Very fun card inventory mechanic. I was quite surprized at the amount of enemy scaling you implimented in your game, the military vehicle shocked me the most. GG! 😁
Nice one, limiting the amount scans you can do really adds to the progression and strategy of how you play the game. GG!
For your first LDJam game this is pretty good, all the functionality is there and it all works really well. I also appreciate the fact that you took the time to make a "how to play" screen. Music was great too. GG!
Cool concept, almost like a modern Space Invaders
This is a very well thought out and put together game. Great sound design and atmosphere too, almost felt real. GG!
Very interesting concept, I did enjoy attempting to match the pitch and timing of the incoming signal but as the levels progressed I found it a bit difficult to understand how my adjustments were affecting my signal in relation to the reference signal. That being said it was still a cool, fun idea. GG!
I'm a sucker for good pixel art and this was a super cute platformer. I like how you incorporated the theme into the level progression it works really well. Great artwork, game feel and level design. GG!
Very cute platformer, loved that you had to search for the end goal use elements to build up too. Nice work for your first LDJame game.
Take that crime! Looks like justice won this time 😆. Screenshot 2026-04-26 175045.png Great game, had a lot of fun trying memories the color combos and shapes. Dunno if I could survive challenge mode, though I might give it a try for my second run. GG!
Really like your concept here, turning on and off platforms and trying to remember the colour combination was a fun challenge. Artwork was great too. I especially like the little colour indicator on top of the player's head. GG!
