I'm super curious what the 18+ aspect of this game is. I played it through but I didn't notice anything. Was there something in the audio I missed? Also I love the duck's little flappy feet!

jk5000 2022-04-04 06:07

In the audio you hear a story that is not really kids friendly. You don't have to 18+ for story, but I just don't want kids to play the game.

wogabi 2022-04-04 06:07

This was really well done. I liked how the narration reminded me of Stanley Parable where the voice reacts to you. Very fun!

mahjoub 2022-04-04 07:45

Nice entry: cute duck model and good voice acting :v:

khaotom 2022-04-04 07:53

Dang that is a sad story. We are all the toy duck too. :sob:

I liked this a lot, very funny and enjoyable.

darandin 2022-04-04 10:24

Nice submission. Based on the first voice line it sounds like we were so close to having a turtle island instead of a duck island

nebiros 2022-04-04 10:53

How cool ! The narration of the story is a really nice touch

ccglp 2022-04-04 11:00

Poor duck :( Nice game and awesome graphics and voice acting :)

badoomtch 2022-04-04 11:29

Incredible story, I am awaiting the movie adaptation! One of my favourite entries.

noobhereo 2022-04-04 11:35

Pretty cool, very short but a fun little project. RIP the duck.

badcop 2022-04-04 11:45

I was a little worried with all the warnings that this game was going to try to scare me, but I was pleasantly surprised! The voiceover is really well done

wonz 2022-04-04 11:59

Don't know what happened but my first time through I didn't hear any audio so I had to play it again. It definitely adds to the experience!

atomicptr 2022-04-04 17:22

Very short, but really solid game, great work! :)

m11 2022-04-04 17:29

Brilliant work on the voiceover

zubspace 2022-04-04 19:37

That poor little duck! You know, I like ducks and I really felt bad for it. Why did it end? Why was the duck stuck on the small sheet of ice? Where was it going? Why couldn't it fly away? So many questions which will haunt me 'till the end of time...

Liked the story and the idea. Fits the them perfectly. GJ!

stalemeat 2022-04-05 09:46

Cool idea for a game. This hit the theme nail on the head. Loved the narration. That duck had a sad story indeed. Nice work!

esayitch 2022-04-05 16:26

Voiceover was pretty funny for some reason, even though the words themselves were not funny... I liked it, I would suggest making the fans push the bombs farther and generally be more powerful.

biba-sama 2022-04-05 17:40

IT'S THE FUCKING DUCK WITH THE FUCKING FAN ON THE HEAD! AWESOME!

maxi1324 2022-04-05 19:57

I wish i was the duck

nick-rafalski 2022-04-06 01:03

I love the whacky-ness. Bombs? Ducks? Fans on its head? Awesome! The narration was cool too :)

wheffle 2022-04-06 05:07

I was *very* excited to learn there were voice lines for all the deaths at every point. This feature single-handedly makes this one of the greatest games ever made, even if the story is very, very sad.

bassilij 2022-04-06 08:47

Sad story, the performance is amazing)

muriel 2022-04-06 09:53

Jeje but suddenly he remember that he has a fan in his head XD

Interesting game a bit short but I think that this is good because this means wanted to know more about our little ducky.

Good job :)

ffffchai 2022-04-06 10:59

The voiceover reminds me of getting over it but much fun! Fun game!

yukimiitsuka 2022-04-06 11:02

Awsome! I like the lovely and funny feet of this duck with a fan on his head. Emmm i really want to help him so i wonder if there is a way to delay the melting over 90 seconds?

nanolotl 2022-04-06 11:08

The duck feet are so nice

pcmaster 2022-04-06 11:33

This was, sad, very, very sad, indeed. The narration was good, so was the music. I LOVE the tiny floppy feet. Well played, well done.

sayurinyooko 2022-04-06 11:56

Funny duck and funny narrator. I like the game, thank you! But first time it's hard to control the duck

lenny-rudeberg 2022-04-06 18:17

Very entertaining, thanks for the laughs.

sunjet 2022-04-06 19:33

The ducks's paws are just a piece of art

jackaljk 2022-04-06 19:50

The mechanic of the game is really good, I wish it lasted longer!

lvl99chicken 2022-04-07 05:20

The voice over and duck design were great! Also liked that you threw in that fan mechanic, very cool. Not a game id replay but it was focused and to-the-point the first time around and I enjoyed every moment of it!

polarcube 2022-04-07 13:42

Heloo! Congrats on your entry, thought I'd leave some unfiltered feedback for you so you can improve as much as you can from this experience!

I understand this was a jam game, so some of the things I say you might have thought of implementing but just ran out of time.

**Feedback:**

---

๐ŸŽจ Graphics ๐ŸŽจ - The 3D models were nice, so were the effects. I liked the art :) - The camera felt awkward, didn't have a good perspective of how close the duck was to the edge at the back. - The Iceberg (?) texture is kind of blurry, but that's not too big of a deal. - When moving backwards the little flaps on the wheals play their animation backwards, which would work, but because of the way they curl before going under the wheal it looks kind of weird.

๐ŸŽฎ Gameplay ๐ŸŽฎ - There was a lot of downtime where I was just sitting around, not doing anything, even with the story this became a little boring. - Needing to restart the whole story on death was also annoying, I think implementing checkpoints so you just respawn at the start of the last voice line would have been good :)

๐Ÿ“œ Story ๐Ÿ“œ - Having a story element made this game a LOT better xD Good job for implementing that. - Great job with the voice lines as well

Hope this was helpful!

senso 2022-04-07 18:16

The story is good 8 sec in and you wanโ€™t the whole story ! Well written.

alexascher 2022-04-07 19:21

The toy duck is SUPER cool, I really liked her flippers on wheels. It would be great if the bombs had a shadow, because sometimes it is not clear it's where the bomb is. But it's still good job!

clemall 2022-04-07 21:04

Damn sad story but so good at the same time ! Great job !

unpronounceable 2022-04-07 22:08

Top notch storytelling, and driving the duck around was fun. Wife watched me play it and she gave it a 10/10.

dob 2022-04-08 07:42

Simple game, smooth, intuitive, controls, really funny story stuff. The floppy feet and the head fan were amazing touches. Very nice work.

rasblo 2022-04-08 08:43

Love the duck but ending made me cry 0/10. Nah nice entry, priority on audio is refreshing

jani-brezavscek 2022-04-08 18:18

Haha nice job! Enjoyed playing the game, loved the humor

j4cko16 2022-04-08 20:15

Found the "sad" duck story to be very entertaining great job, gave me a good laugh!

ronanrory 2022-04-08 21:01

Real impressive production value for a Compo entry! I was legitimately surprised when I found out that the voice narrates your actions Stanley Parable style! I guess the only nitpick that I have is being able to see the ends of the water plane; though I'm not sure if you could do anything about that.

There also may not be much in gameplay here, but this cleary isn't going for that. It's just an amusing little story that ties with the theme. It's not anything that would necessitate an 18+ category, perhaps 13+ would make more sense.

But yeah, you've done a lovely job on this one.

xk-the-name 2022-04-09 08:05

Ducks...

ruthiepee 2022-04-09 13:26

Really cool concept. I like how the narration is affected by what's happening in the game -- I exploded the duck on purpose so I could hear how that narration was interjected into the story. I also adore the animation of the duck's feet rotating around the wheels.

jonathan-volpi 2022-04-13 19:15

Reminded me of Crash Bash from Playstation one. Very good!

jakobthequizguy 2022-04-16 17:42

Reminds me of your game from LD46, you have a knack for making games more interesting with your voice over! Unfortunately this game seemed to lag quite a bit on my computer but I managed to make it to the end anyways :) the fan added a lot to the gameplay and was fun to use! Good job on this!

It was really interesting to see that many of you see it as being a funny game and others as an sad game.

I have made and uploaded a slightly updated version of the game. It's still short, but I have tried to improve the story a bit, and giving a bit better music. I have also made a few changes to the visuals and the gameplay.

I hope to see you all in another Ludum Dare or perhaps in a another game jam.
