LD27 — 10 Seconds

Specky by Rabbits... 2013-08-26T20:33:00

Liked the audio, I think it fit the game... I also thought the control scheme was pure genius, but I'm a fan of quirky control schemes so don't take my word for it :P

I think you could have used the theme of the contest a bit better though.

Good luck mate!

Regular Dungeon by Syawra 2013-08-28T17:04:00

Very stylish in terms of art... the music sets a grim atmosphere that doesn't fit the light-hearted tone of the game, I felt...

I also think the game could have been made more difficult, it was very easy to complete.

Good luck!

Ten Sec Ken Do by Tinco 2013-08-26T22:09:00

Controls were pretty non-responsive (characters would only move towards each other, nowhere else)... kinda hard to tell that a round ended even though it is clearly reset... attack animations could use some polishing too...

I'm a sucker for duel games so I liked this, but I think it still needs some work/polishing. Good luck!

Heart of Scrap by mr_tag 2013-08-28T17:44:00

Liked the idea a lot, a bit less the execution... These games need AI to work in a competition where most judges are 4everalone (like yours truly :P) and can't play with another person... Anyways, good visuals and solid idea! Good work! (If you made it so that you only get 10 seconds to buy stuff for your ship, you would have gotten higher on theme as well :P)

BombUniverse by Lidfrid 2013-08-27T18:01:00

This was a very well-made game mechanically for me, but it just didn't click with me... great aesthetics, good sound effects, nice touch with the text... but I got frustrated before too long...

Still a solid entry :P good luck!

10 Sec And Slash by NostraDamon 2013-08-28T17:29:00

A subpar entry... very bad...
... just kidding :P very well styled, polished, and arranged... a beautiful entry, realy... I found the concept of sacrificing a patient to save another disturbing, but otherwise it's one helluva game for 72 hours :P

SliP by Sakuyan 2013-08-26T06:48:00

Awesome game! Hard to believe you managed this in 48 hours! I did the first few levels then got a bi too frustrated... dunno if later levels have checkpoints but that might be a welcome addition :)

Clocked In by rylgh 2013-08-26T07:26:00

Got to level 15! I liked most the level design in this game, pretty solid difficulty progression so kudos to that :P art style was fun as well.

Good luck in the challenge!

Tower Infinity by esayitch 2013-08-26T20:51:00

In regards to music (I've seen two comments regarding that), I was going by the following (in the rules):

Fonts, drum loops, drum samples, and sampled instruments are allowed IF you have the legal right to use them.

And if you check the site I got the track from, it's free to use and to publish in games :P

On other news, thanks al ot for the feedback, it is really appreciated :D

Tower Infinity by esayitch 2013-08-29T19:58:00

@acro: Game is winnable, easiest strat is play defensive until you got about 200 Power, then make mega Slaughterer push :)
@all: Thanks for the feedback, making games accessible is something I generally struggle in, but now I know on what to work!

Tower Infinity by esayitch 2013-08-29T20:57:00

Ah damn :( Didn't know that... well... will be wiser for next LD I guess :P

Tower Infinity by esayitch 2013-09-02T13:40:00

Wrote about 2000 lines of code (in flixel) to make this :P

Watch and Solve by VagabondEx 2013-08-26T20:17:00

Hello there! I like how you used the theme, but I think it would have been doubly effective to "balance" the game a bit so that the viewing/memorizing part could also be set to 10 seconds instead of 20.

I think a game of this type would have benefited a bit more from simple sprites instead of numbers, as well, though then the memorization might have been more complex...

Good luck!

10 Seconds to Save the World by HacksawUnit 2013-08-27T19:24:00

Very hard (at least for my noob fingers)... I understand that the tiny screen is a bug and otherwise it looks effective... sound was very effective too.

Good entry, and good luck!

Deadly Sunrise by jayhC 2013-08-28T21:43:00

Loved the graphics and the movement, pretty awesome entry :P

Mission Mars by gre 2013-08-27T17:43:00

Awesome platformer, could use checkpoints at key levels for the faint of heart (like yours truly)... wicked sick otherwise :P

Frost by coreym1988 2013-08-26T20:39:00

Loved the graphics... think some audio would make this lovely :P

It's a nice small easy concept but it works :)

Short Nightmares by Martin_Monosys 2013-08-26T21:05:00

Hiya!
This was a simple and straightforward game, but it was VERY well-executed, stylish, and polished... obviously I lvoed the graphics... the sound fit very well too, and overall the mood really sucked me in.

Needless to say, it scared the crap out of me, but I think it ended a bit on a low note and that it could have used a slightly "stronger" ending.

Good luck!

Infernal Bin by vladimirdlc 2013-08-28T22:06:00

O.o
This is how I felt after running this, then I read the description and it sorta makes sense I guess...
It's rather pretty ;)

Time Trapped by killerstarbunny 2013-08-28T22:00:00

Coming this summer...
Nyan Cat, Matt Damon.... PARADOX.
Pretty stylish ^^

Keg Quest by Crazi456 2013-08-27T19:28:00

Wow, nice concept, really difficult, but it's a good type of challenge! I liked this game; a very original puzzle that's defintely one of the most creative uses of the theme of the contest that I have so far seen :P

The Aliens Came (10 seconds to choose) by porglezomp 2013-08-26T20:08:00

I really, really liked this. I ran through the game twice... the story was pretty standard though very engaging... in the end I got the jerk high-profile job! The graphics are of course polished and great... audio would have worked wonders, too bad you didn't put any :(

Good luck!

Duel by zlowrance 2013-08-29T19:17:00

Stylish graphics and appropriate sound... Fun little diversion :D

Robot Suicide by GlennBrann 2013-08-28T17:40:00

Good concept! I think you need more (difficult) levels with more gameplay variations (for instance fading platforms, stuff that, if you touch it, teleports you somewhere, etc.)

I liked the graphics and the movement :P Good luck!

Ten Seconds of Thrust by flarb 2013-08-27T19:32:00

Very cool concept, though the handling was a bit tough to master... I didn't know if I could land on platforms? Or just on the ground at the bottom? Didn't seem to progress to new level either way...

Good game and good luck!

MegaPunch by Nick Weihs 2013-08-29T19:21:00

Movement was pretty stiff but I guess that's part of the challenge :P Loved the graphics and sound.

Play Time's Over by Broxxar 2013-08-27T20:25:00

Feels very polished... everything is very sleek, fun, and just looks good, except maybe the jump mechanic which could use some polish... otherwise a very solid entry from all aspects! Good job and well done :)

YOGH@)!$Q#4$%7GDF: Destroyer of Keyboards! by greysphere 2013-08-26T07:16:00

Very simple and equally fun xD I loved the art-style and the whole thing just gave me a good feeling... I'm assuming fruit and animal bonus is for when while mashing you accidentally type the name of a fruit/animal right?
Anyways, good fun and good luck in the challenge!

Step Out by bitserum 2013-08-27T19:52:00

Loved the graphics and the audio, puzzles were also well designed... Felt like the theme was "just there" but that it could have been engrained more into the puzzles...

One of the better entries I've seen so far though, kudos and good luck!

10 Sec Away From the Earth by dancingflame 2013-08-27T19:57:00

Liked this but felt it was a bit too easy from what I saw (maybe I just didn't see enough but it's pretty late here :P)... I think it could have been better if you made it so that when the 10 seconds run out for a character, it needs to go back to the beginning... right now time has no real factor in it (get somewhere, change character, return to all character, and you got 10 more seconds).

Loved the graphics and the soothing mood and sound :P

Good job and good luck!

Sixth of a Minute by Tork 2013-08-26T07:12:00

Liked the art style here and thought it had a nice level progression for the levels I've played... I think you could have embedded the theme a bit more though (dunno how).

Good luck in the challenge ^^

Lanterna Cyclum by Brian Stegmann 2013-08-26T20:48:00

Game sucked me in, dunno why. It is simple but pretty effective as well... picking up wisps also gave me a boost of speed, or so I felt :P I hovered around 16 wisps for a little bit befroe getting frustrated and leaving but that no fault of the game but mine.
Audio was okay, but got repetitive after a while, still helped the killer mood.

MUD by @TeddyNashor 2013-08-28T16:49:00

I loved the construction of the whole game; the mine upgrade defend structure was really well-thought out...

I think upgrades for the mining part could have added some variety to the playstyle (Were there any? If yes, I missed them and so apologize :P), and that the fights get too tough too fast. I understand it is a "defense" game and so movement would have made no sense, but I would have liked to be able to move in this game, at least in a small, confined area.

Overall pretty solid, with some polish and tweaking/balancing, this could sell a sponsorship, easy.

They disolve every 10 seconds by Lurieh 2013-08-26T20:29:00

I like the concept and the usage of the theme in that it gives you some leeway when you connect 4 of the same, in that they don't immediately dissolve... left/right controls could use some tightening up I think.

Good luck!

Deathwish Dan by JHollands 2013-08-28T17:33:00

Very very stylish game :P

10 Seconds Before the World Ends by Lustdante 2013-08-26T07:06:00

Hiya, I liked the mood and concept in this game and feel like you nailed the theme well, but I got stuck at the third level (the one with falling planks keyboards and monitors :P).
Good luck in the challenge!

Hurry UP! by Sense 2013-08-29T19:34:00

Terrain was unforgiving at times, especially with being unable to move left... aside from that... sounds fit, graphics were pretty awesome, and game played smooth, so good job!

Ten Seconds by motty 2013-08-27T17:32:00

Very original I must say, at least among the slew of 10-seconds-to-finish-level platformers xD

Found it very hard, but pretty cool at the same time, good job!

Entropy by Supercannon 2013-08-29T19:40:00

Feels highly complete for a game in such a short space... it has a very unique graphic style which is complemented by the music very nicely... In the random weapon I got a bad weapon that made me lose fast, so possibly... weapons may bneed balancing xD

Crazy Genetist by ratalaika 2013-08-27T17:10:00

Nice entry, I couldn't win even once though... I tried to connect the strand to the edge of the map and succeeded a couple of times but then nothing happened... I'm likely missing something... O well :P

Good luck!

QuickHunt by MvdLaar 2013-08-29T19:30:00

This is very pretty, and the ambient sounds are very appropriate too... a nice entry, enjoyed it :P

King Craftsman by ravine 2013-08-27T20:08:00

Graphics and sound fit it very well, and the game was kinda fun for the first few levels... nice variation on the theme by combining it with a memory game...

One of the more polished entries to be honest, so gets high rating from me :P

Good luck!

Lost in the Dark by KristinnEs 2013-08-27T17:50:00

Liked this! I think it could benefit a lot if you would add some creepy music ^^ Otherwise nice usage of the theme, and good luck!

Marrow Wind by NikB 2013-08-27T17:25:00

404 on Dropbox O.o... couldn't play this though was pretty excited to do that...

Space-Time Adventure by OldPeculier 2013-08-26T06:56:00

Liked this! The first few levels seemed to be a bit too similar and straightforward, which I guess is good for learning :P

Back for Seconds by RobotParking 2013-08-27T17:40:00

This thing is genius on a literary level... screw video game jam this is progressive fiction (is that a thing? it ought to be) jam... color scheme is brilliant, story is brilliant, interpretation of the theme (Time? What does time have to do with 10 seconds?) is... brilliant.

I'm in love.

Party Time by JayProg 2013-08-26T22:14:00

Heya! I liked the concept a lot, but I found that the mouse was way too sensitive, a small touch would have me looking from the ground to sky, so it was tough to get the job done (at least for me).

Barring that, a solid entry; great graphics, good concept and appropriate audio! GJ and good luck!

Ghost Pirate's Ship of Treasures by immanuela 2013-08-29T19:14:00

Was pretty easy but fun regardless... liked the movement in this, felt natural... good first entry!

Speed of love by bobylito 2013-08-27T19:39:00

Megaspeed dating :P Liked this, short and sweet.

Particle Fighter by Tym0r 2013-08-28T21:36:00

Weird but very original control scheme for the ship... Liked that xD Special effects and overall smoothness was a delight!

A VERY solid entry!

It's You or Me by JtM 2013-08-27T20:00:00

Hah, pretty solid, but I am forever alone and have no one to play it with right now :( Some AI would have made it better for the jam :P?

Very well executed though, feels smooth and polished... good luck!

Vacuum by SCCOTTT 2013-08-28T21:56:00

Liked the mood and the stars xD

Granny Death - The 10 second buff game by Fluffy Tigers in the Sky 2013-08-27T19:17:00

Loved the graphics and the music was great before it got repetitive... overall very polished in terms of presentation... attack was a little too slow and I found myself overwhelmed pretty fast.

Great entry and good luck!

10 Seconds In 10 Seconds by Jishenaz 2013-08-26T07:21:00

I understand the controls because there is no mouse in this game so this wasn't an issue, the only issue was that there was very little movement from my enemy so I was tempted to just keep mashing space (only had to take aim twice or so), so it was a bit on the easy side :P Make the enemy move constantly when he is in shield mode and you can make it a lot more exciting I think.

Some kind of Evil Pink Stuff by fluffypillow 2013-08-28T21:52:00

Ding da da ding ding da da ding ding... That's all I'll remember from playing this xD

Movement was solid and the premise/concept was good... graphics and sound are effective as well, good entry!

Adventures of Schrodinger's cat by Cryunreal 2013-08-27T17:15:00

Wonderful entry! I especially liked the graphics and the superposition mechanic :P I think the handling/physics (jumping in particular) is a bit clunky though.

Still a very solid game with good art, music, and gameplay :)

pastiche punk. by tigers 2013-08-26T21:21:00

Arrghgh! Frustrating as hell! Great concept and the different variation on the player ability (like moving backwards in level 2) was very well done... maybe I didn't get far enough, but... why no checkpoints? Why do I have to start over when I die? A baddie like me will never finish this :P

Great entry, good luck!

Infinite Distance by Johan Eklund 2013-08-26T20:22:00

Hullo! Like others, I too had collision problems (for instance if I keep Right pressed and die, then I automatically fall into the wall when respawning).

I liked how you did use the theme but sort of circumvented it at the same time with the +time powerups :D

Dunno if it is just for the web version, but the resolution of the game was way too high for my browser, and I could only see about 60% of the height of the map at any given moment.

Good luck!

Defuse in 10 seconds by archaeometrician 2013-08-29T19:10:00

Very simple and effective... a good kind of stressful xD
Loved the tunes.

Poisoned Wizards by HauntedSoul 2013-08-26T20:12:00

Hiya, I think this has a lot of potential to be a good game, but currently it is a bit lacking in the fun department... I did like the humor, and the fact that the theme was nicely incorporated, so kudos for that, and good luck!

Disminer by tnorman 2013-08-28T17:11:00

Good job on the style... I did't quite get the puzzle... but it's very well done overall...

Lost Pixel by unitycoder_com 2013-08-27T19:47:00

Arf... level 8 and no more xD

Pretty minimalistic and addicting game that fits the theme like a snug glove... good job!

Moondrop by nanotech 2013-08-28T21:48:00

o.O What is this I don't even... xD I liked the simple aesthetics and the premise... and also the fact I didn't know what to do... it was a gun kind of ignorance, I guess :P?

Time to Die by RoyBatty 2013-08-28T17:36:00

I played with myself and had fun! Well, sort of >.> You really need AI ^^

There is potential here but I think the jump/movement mechanics are pretty stiff... otherwise a good entry! Good luck!

Proletarian Ninja X by deepnight 2013-08-28T17:23:00

Megatough and mega-well made puzzler... I hate saying what other people have already said, so no comments on the obvious from me. Just... high ratings across the board :P

Good luck.

Inspector Hector by wademcgillis 2013-08-27T17:55:00

Very well executed... can't give you much for innovation since it's VVVVVV + a timer, but everything else was pretty spot on... le funny too ^^

Distress Signal by Kohijin 2013-08-28T16:59:00

Brilliant concept, but the cryptic warnings at the beginning made me very wary of moving forward more than a few squares before scanning everything around me... and damn did that take time... I think the game would have benefitted a lot if you would have made the robot automatically take pictures every second and then transmit them at a 10 second delay...

Still a very atmospheric game with a great idea, even if it got me frustrated relatively fast :P

Good luck!

Every Ten Seconds A Kitten Drowns by matthias_zarzecki 2013-08-27T17:05:00

Heya! I liked the game a lot, was pretty fun and impressive for 48 hours. Music got a bit repetitive and didn't fit the mood a lot I think (too grim for this kind of game, I felt).

Theme applied well and a well executed concept, good luck!

10 Second Tactics by Schwiggy 2013-08-27T19:21:00

A solid entry... did not care much for the controls, but the idea was brilliant and it adds a hectic feel to an otherwise turn based tactics game... artstyle fit the game but sound got annoying fast...

Good job and good luck!

10 Sec Hero by StabAlarash 2013-08-29T19:25:00

Liked it, stylish and pretty ^^

The only one by JaJ 2013-08-28T21:26:00

You got me tearing up damn you... one of the most remarkable entries I've seen so far... and downright the most fitting sound.

Mercurial by sorceress 2013-08-26T21:09:00

Really, really wanted to play this (got impression from the feedback that it is awesome, and it just looks great, with the aesthetic reminding me of VVVVVV), BUT, it crashes every time I press UP arrow with a divide by zero error :S

I'm running on Windows 7, x64 if I'm not mistaken...

Project: "Explosion" by Simple Ghost 2013-08-29T19:36:00

Couldn't play it... kept freezing up my browser :S Could even switch tab from this page to the game tab... too bad, wanted to try it :P

The Alchemist's Workshop by fantasywiz54 2013-08-27T19:44:00

Nice take on the theme... would have likely worked for the alchemy theme as well... The in-game graphics were very nice, I would have liked to see them in the menus and instructions as well (though the ingredient bag felt out of place a bit :P).

Good entry and good luck!

Hello Dr. Steiner! by PapyPilgrim 2013-08-26T22:02:00

Liked this game a lot... reminded me somewhat of a redux Binding of Isaac... I think it would have benefited from more varied enemies or enemies with more "surprising" AI, but it is very very polished, good fun, and a "complete package".

Good luck in the compo!

Hype by johnl 2013-08-27T17:22:00

Pretty good for the compo xD I liked most the graphics to be honest... Character movement is a bit clunky but you are already aware of that...

Good luck!

LD30 — Connected Worlds

Murder Between Worlds by ChronusZ 2014-08-27T20:09:00

It's totes Lee King.

One of the few games that got me engaged enough to (try to) finish it xD. Highly atmospheric. Music could be a bit of a darker and more melancholy tone, but that's about it I guess. Rest is pretty spot on for a game like this. Good job!

Train Connect! by joonamo 2014-08-25T17:15:00

176507 on the Tokyo level. Is that any good :P?
I like the multi-tasking element, but I feel the theme could have been better used. Things are a bit too small on the screen but I liked the graphics overall. The sound is pretty nice too, even though I don't know Japanese. Good luck! Nice entry.

WHAT'S NEXT? by jsspiegel 2014-08-25T18:45:00

Hey... I belong to one of the ethnic groups/peoples depicted, so I naturally liked this.

It is of course not much of a game, but I loved the graphics. And obviously, the message :)

One Ship Two Ship Redshift Blueshift by 01010111 2014-08-28T15:49:00

Awesome aesthetics and highly innovative gameplay. I liked it a lot! Theme could have featured more prominently I think, but great great great :)

Switchboard Connection by Scott Baker 2014-08-28T06:28:00

Pretty cool concept, I liked it even though I messed up my first try badly. I would suggest to maybe make the incoming calls flash clearer, I am in a high-lighting area now and it was very difficult to see the yellow flashes.

Aside from that, good entry :D

Dreams or Reality: The Adventure by GibTreaty 2014-08-28T17:02:00

Was there music here O.o? Some of the other people are saying yes but I didn't hear anything. Maybe problem with my laptop? I left audio unrated.

I liked the duality of the worlds and how what you in one affects the other. I wish it would have expressed itself more in the actual mechanics too, but this is pretty ok.

Grahpics were pretty cute and stylish :)

Signum by brookman 2014-08-27T15:38:00

Hi! I liked the concept. and the level design is pretty good. The sound is appropriate for the game and the graphics fit it well as well. Overall a very good entry.

If I would improve something, it's the ball's movements as they can be a bit rough around the edges and some of the times that I fell I felt that it wasn't fair.

REUNION by Skiddings 2014-08-26T18:40:00

Hiya, I loved the theme's usage here and the graphics (though one of the characters could do with a walking animation :P). Sound would have added a lot to the atmosphere, but even as it stands it's a very cool little puzzle game. Kudos!

BOND by ConflictiveLabs 2014-08-29T05:16:00

Loved the concept here, very original and in perfect sync with the theme. Could have used a bit of sound, but otherwise the aesthetic is great and the gameplay as well.

Links by esayitch 2014-08-25T19:51:00

@Ervin Weird O.o. It's just basic flash. Did you try resetting the browser or opening the page again?

Links by esayitch 2014-08-25T20:03:00

Hi guys, link is indeed broken for some reason, I'm uploading it to itch.io and a new link should be up shortly. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Links by esayitch 2014-08-25T20:06:00

New link is up. swfcabin was messing up so I uploaded the file to itch.io. It loads faster too. I assume swfcabin failure is a temporary thing, so when it's back up it can be used to confirm that I didn't change anything :)

Travelling Spirit by thedeadlybutter 2014-08-29T05:43:00

I didn't rate this because I had a tough time figuring out the controls and how to swap worlds... I tried to glean that from the comments as well but couldn't... You definitely need to make the controls a bit clearer :P Will gladly rate it after I know what the controls are and get a chance to play it fairly.

Sleepy Time by SkyWolf 2014-08-27T19:49:00

Holy shit this thing is terrifying... really scary. I loved the atmosphere, sfx, and mostly the graphics. It felt like some enemies were too fast and made the game a bit unfair, but overall very good. Liked it!

Advesperation by dook 2014-08-28T20:38:00

I loved this... The story kept me on the edge of my seat and the lack of music actually made it terrifying for me for some reason. The movement scheme added to that. I was expecting to turn around and find something terrifying behind me at some point, after that quote you put at the start. Very, very atmospheric. Well done.

Affinity by unpronounceable 2014-08-25T17:56:00

Simple, effective idea. I got stuck on level two... I linked all the worlds but nothing happened.

Dark Path by TheGeekatory 2014-08-25T20:26:00

Hiya, I crashed once on one of the toggles... don't remember which. I started it again and just started interacting with all the bounded squares... which generated terrain and allowed me to continue on for a little bit... but then I couldn't find anything else to toggle more terrain. I think it would benefit a lot from some in-game instructions... something I learned fast and something I suffer from a lot is: "You can have the best game ever made, but if people don't know how to play it within 30 seconds of starting it, they're gonna give up." People are impatient nowadays :P

Congrats on finishing your first game on time! May there be many more to follow. I see potential for this, I just didn't know what to do with it.

Encounter console by Peping 2014-08-26T20:30:00

Very cool game, got me hooked for a relatively long time xD The expansion mini-game likely needs a checkpoint system after each level I think, but aside from that, everything about this screams polished and well-executed. Very awesome.

Ultra Realistic Social Network Simulator by Ludipe 2014-08-28T20:47:00

Funny non-game with a heartwarming message of going outside. At least that's what I got from it.

Switch Off by ghostinthesoft 2014-08-28T06:50:00

I liked the concept and the overall mood of the game. Graphics are good for 48 hours :) Needs a bit of sound maybe. Good effort and good luck.

We're connected by Yozz 2014-08-26T06:37:00

Nice story-driven platformer. Pretty polished on the graphics too. Solid entry :)

Intertwined by shohs 2014-08-26T20:37:00

I finished the two levels, but it was not very easy. I loved the concept and the theme was very well-implemented here, which is one of the most important things for me :D. It is obviously a bit lacking in terms of animations but overall the graphical style is good as well.

Good entry, and I am sorry that you couldn't make a couple more levels. Good luck!

Worldco by awesomeusername 2014-08-27T06:18:00

Nice little clicker, and nice, literal use of the theme! I liked it. Sound effects might have added to this.

Dance Dance Invasion by adcrusher 2014-08-25T19:27:00

I enjoyed this xD I wasn't 100% on the scoring scheme but all teh funnehs made up for it in plenty. Highest Graphics rating I gave out so far! Great entry. Good luck!

ACID WORLD by Aske 2014-08-26T20:03:00

I didn't know how to kill the demon O.o The small dudes killed me too fast so I ran past them xD

The art is gorgeous in my opinion, really captures the feeling of "WTF?!" you were obviously gunning for. I had to put Strawberry Fields by The Beatles on while I played 'cause it made it so much better :).

Gameplay is still a bit floaty, but that's to be expected in a 48 hour development cycle. Good job overall!

Space Clash by donan 2014-08-25T19:49:00

Liked the CRT Effect :)
I liked the idea though I think theme could be better used... The controls are also a but sluggish. Certain enemies can be killed from afar without endangering yourself. Graphics are pretty cool, sound added a bit as well.

Good entry, and good luck!

The Subconscious by Snicklodocus 2014-08-27T17:35:00

I guess I'm pretty bad because I didn't see any pattern. I'm also pretty bad because I thought this was real-time at first xD.

I loved the concept, very clever, and the theme featured very well here. Needless to say, sound, graphics, and general ambiance made this a great game instead of a good game. Good job!

World Absorber by crneumre 2014-08-28T06:35:00

Pretty cool concept, I really liked it! At the second level I jumped high out of the screen and didn't drop back in :(

Could do with some animations and sfx, but right now it's a great concept with neat mechanics that still need some fleshing out. Great effort!

Savior: Saver of Souls by John Drury 2014-08-25T20:52:00

10/10 you should sell this. Polished experience, frantic and a whole lotta fun.

Orbital Kombat by Adjotur 2014-08-25T19:23:00

Hiya,
I liked the concept, but I think you could have used the theme better... there is no "connection" here.
I liked the circular move pattern and the controls seemed suited for it. Nice entry, good luck!

GET Connected by sephyka 2014-08-28T15:54:00

Wawawaw :P Loved the voyeurism in this... the dead brother in space was hilarious, and some other tidbits here and there. Excellent entry! The only thing that could be improved is sounds IMO. Mega-liked it!

Trapped Between Worlds by Tommislav 2014-08-27T06:26:00

Loved the visual effects, especially the hitting animation. Slick as f&*k. Controls were pretty tight as well, except maybe the jump (too fast). Graphics are limited but that's to be understood of course :P, not so the sound which was awesome.

I liked the mechanics a lot, but still think the theme could have featured a little better. Overall a solid entry :) Good luck!

juxtapose by zillix 2014-08-27T06:45:00

Wow, mega-atmospheric! I admit I was a bit lost and couldn't pin down the interactions between the two worlds, but that didn't change my opinion of it :)

Interplanetary Sync by xXweeguyXx 2014-08-28T20:28:00

Hey! I liked the concept here a lot, it's a pretty solid arcade button masher.

You don't have to apologize for the developer art as this isn't developer art, it's actually fairly pretty pixel art ;)

Good luck!

Fox by Metal Axe 2014-08-26T06:55:00

I liked the original concept and I'm sad you didn't get the time to make it like you wanted. As it is the game requires a bit of thought (where to go depending on jump height) and the controls feel a bit floaty. Good work for 1 day overall, and good luck!

Connect Similar by BloodJohn 2014-08-28T06:44:00

Got 18 :)

Pretty cool concept and the difficulty curve is well thought out. Music was cool but not very appropriate IMO (maybe a happy, skippy tune instead?). Graphics did their job.

Good game, would play on a mobile phone :)

Seasons in the Sky by Vytheros 2014-08-26T19:57:00

Arrgah why can't I jump from high up down to my death xD?

Like others already said, might have used a more meditative sound. Highly calming experience! Good job.

Everything Burns by jordanbloemen 2014-08-29T05:33:00

Holy hells, loved the aesthetic here. Amazing graphics. Could use some more gameplay though, and a way to reset it. I ran into the fire, got a black screen but the sounds were still going, and I couldn't start again xD

Disconnecting People by Once Upon a Team 2014-08-26T18:54:00

I got around 502k... is that good or bad :P?

I really liked this game, I think it's well-made, very polished game. The main character is difficult to control but not unfairly so, and that makes it feel like a matter of skill, which is exactly what you'd want in an arcade game like this.

Music + Art were perfect for the game. Very good entry.

Sinister by Joe Williamson 2014-08-28T15:44:00

Wow.... a shame it is short and lacks some beef... but just wow... To be able to make this music and art alone in 48 hours is just astonishing to me :)

Great entry, probably the best in terms of visuals/audio/mood that I have seen so far.

Any Moment by Jakub Koziol 2014-08-28T16:08:00

I connected to this non-game on many levels and related to most of the notions you/the character (I don't know if it's personal or just really, really accurate) describe because I sadly also suffer from depression... those parts about not wanting to fail and delaying everything to the last moment in particular hit a chord with me. Talk about connecting worlds...

It's a special testament to the medium's capabilities when that happens.

world-walker by Mr.Cassels 2014-08-25T19:57:00

Hiya,
I liked the music and the use of the theme (world toggling). I think it might have been better to make it so you can't fall off, as that was happening to me way to often. Also, I think the controls and speed of the game need polishing. The enemy is too fast, and you move fast as well, so it is difficult to control it while staying alive and staying on a platform.
Great effort, though, and good luck!

Worldly Traveler by MrTedders 2014-08-26T19:53:00

Highly moody atmospheric. Graphics are A+. I felt a but lost and being an impatient person this isn't what I would normally elect to play, but I see the charm and it is very well-made :D Good luck!

Midgord Vikings by sandbaydev 2014-08-27T06:38:00

Art in this is just fantastic, I really liked it. I felt the isolation :P.

Too bad you didn't think of something related to the theme to go with it (I may have missed it). The concept of the game is pretty cool as well. Liked!

Chipset-0 by deepnight 2014-08-29T13:59:00

This is gorgeous. You could probably sell this.

Dungeons and Diapers by lasagnegames 2014-08-29T14:07:00

If this gets finished I can easily see it a combo between puzzler-action platformer and tower(baby) defense, so there's a great deal of innovation here. At the moment though the combat is pretty weird and so are the graphics. But I really liked the concept :)

Gordon's Robot by Hairein 2014-08-27T19:33:00

Hiya,

I felt the movement to be a bit clunky, but otherwise the idea is pretty solid and I liked the graphics for something that was made in three days :)

It's a shame you didn't get enough time to add music, I think it might have added a lot to it. But no matter what way I look at it, an FPS (sans the S) in 3 days is impressive indeed. Good luck, on this and on your next 2D game :)

Everybody knows where the Godfather is by dunin 2014-08-26T19:35:00

Big block of text at the start was a bit too much and made it sound like it's more complicated than it is. Game itself is strangely fun, if simple, and the graphics and sounds add a lot to it. I liked!

I Think I Broke Something by Otrora Games 2014-08-28T20:24:00

Very difficult, I think this would be awesome if the character's movement was more controlled and it had more friction.

I loved the graphics and the soundtrack/sfx were pretty stylish too. Good job! The theme could have featured more heavily though. Good luck!

The Great Space Salad by KuGrou 2014-08-27T20:22:00

I like the literal connection and the way it controls felt difficult but not unfair. Good job on that! Graphics and sound did their job well, too.

Gods Tactics by eLLectron 2014-08-29T06:03:00

Liked the concept a lot, very nice and well-thought out. Animations and font could have been better, as well as damage feedback but overall the graphics are great. Sound was pretty cool.

I think it needed to use the theme a bit more. Good entry!

Misplaced by akymos 2014-08-28T16:55:00

Loved the audio, liked the texture quality too. Pretty neat and well-packaged speedrun game. Was a bit too hard for me but I'm bad :P

Black Box Bandit by BillToWin 2014-08-25T20:58:00

Sweet little turn-based pac-man! Liked it :)

Linker by Digiraze 2014-08-27T19:43:00

A pretty stylish game. Gets you thinking, too, which is never bad :) Sound would have benefited a lot I feel, a zen calm tune or something like that.
A pretty cool entry.

Unknown by Hob623 2014-08-27T06:57:00

This made me WTF? so hard, but not necessarily in a bad way. I liked the music + the concept behind this. Maybe could have done with a little more gameplay mechanics, but that might have defeated the point as well. So I dunno. Liked it overall.

Enduring Atlas by dickpoelen 2014-08-28T16:17:00

Pretty cool 2-player game,I liked the concept :) Visuals were pretty solid. Music was good but not very appropriate is it? You have Atlas struggling to stand and then this calm soothing sound in the background xD Give us something intense and worrisome!

Liked the entry :)

Salvation by 43iscoding 2014-08-30T08:03:00

Very cool idea and a neat puzzle. I actually liked the graphics, as they were consistent throughout. The sfx also added a dimension of immediacy to the mood. Overall a very solid entry.

Connection Failed by vanmount 2014-08-29T05:47:00

Graphics were pretty, but like you yourself said, clunky and unfinished. I turned around while shooting and died. Wat xD?

Let us know if you work on a post-comp version and complete it, it looks really cute and I'd love to play it.

interball by foolmoron 2014-08-26T18:05:00

Liked the concept a lot, and the visuals and sounds made this so much better. Like a perma-roided Pinball. VERY solid entry.

Close Your Eyes by nonetheless 2014-08-26T19:45:00

Aside from some typos here and there, I could find nothing to crit about this. It's just very fun and highly intuitive. The abstract graphical style serves it well, and the sound makes gives it a hint of mystery and lack of knowledge. Very strong entry!

Planet vs Planet by BigHairDan 2014-08-27T18:42:00

Oh wow, it took me a bit to realize how the movement was actually working, but then I realized how cool this would be if I had anyone to play with. A highly innovative duel game, graphics were cool, music was ok but got repetitive, and the game feels a bit too slow. Make the planets travel faster and I think you would have a niche gem here :) Good job overall!

All In Your Head by TheZiggy 2014-08-25T18:40:00

Hiya!
I liked the graphics and the audio a bit. The game was pretty hard to control and way to fast, though the core time-stop mechanic would have been pretty fun to explore otherwise, as I liked the level design of the levels I actually managed to beat.

Good luck!

Galaxy Conquest 3000 by talecrafter 2014-08-25T19:18:00

Loved the graphics and sound and the made the atmosphere very, very good. The gameplay was funky for me; I lost two worlds but when it seemed like I should have regained them nothing happened. Eventually I got into a stalemate.

It's nicely-thought-out gameplay though. ++!

Good luck!

Mexican Standoff by ATTA Games 2014-08-26T06:42:00

Liked the usage of the theme. Graphics reminded me of Super Crate Box, which is to say they were very good. The gameplay works well as well, even though I didn't realize you could do multiple jumps at first and was close to giving up on it before I realized that. Nice entry, good luck!

Parallel Rift by liquidminduk 2014-08-28T15:36:00

This is very polished and stylish. The concept hits the mark very sweetly in terms of theme. The wall jumping is done very well, too.

I enjoyed it all around. The only thing missing would be sfx, otherwise, it's perfect like it is. Well-played!

Tom Collins by TwittleCreator 2014-08-27T19:09:00

Hiya, movement in the game is way too fast IMO, especially forward and backwards. If I understood correctly the first goal is to jump on the objects spiraling into the spaceship, but I couldn't even land on the first chair (if that is indeed the case) xD

I liked the colors and with some tightening + a bit more mechanics it might be a good game, but now it's still pretty raw. The story was pretty cool though :)

And holy crap... You're ELEVEN?! You've got some serious talent that just needs some tempering. Good luck in the future!

Smugglers' Cave by Andrew Quartermain 2014-08-28T16:48:00

Pretty nice 2 player game. I would have made it so the movement was a but smoother; sometimes it's very hard to control and you feel you lose unfairly.

In addition, why is it that when I go to the edge of the screen I appear on the other side :( Would have preferred if there was a solid wall there that collided with me and kept me there.

The sfx were pretty sweet and fit the vibe. Reminded me of an old dos game where you were a ball that bounced on platform. Don't remember the name.

Graphics are suitable too :) Good entry overall!

Worlds Insight by SelfishGenome 2014-08-27T19:40:00

Really liked the idea behind this! Quite a lot actually :) We often don't consider the fact that perspective changes the world around us, and it does. This game shows it :)

With that said movement is too floaty, especially where precision is required. Needs to move in a more controlled way, one click should send move me a small distance, not that far. Makes jumping more frustrating than it has to be.

Otherwise I liked the cubic graphics and the sfx were pretty appropriate for the game as well. Good job!

The Purgatory by maad9 2014-08-25T21:20:00

I liked that you were on-key enough to put a portal=checkpoint system, as I would have probably left the game sooner otherwise :)

Liked the graphics and atmosphere, I think sound would have made it way better.

Nice game overall.

Ergo Syskevis by akirassasin 2014-08-27T06:54:00

A simple yet effective package. I liked the atmosphere and the report at the end is pretty funny. I came close to winning but one of the digits wasn't green and brain didn't function :/

GalaxyXX by DragonInstall 2014-08-28T18:22:00

The graphics reminded me of starfox a little, so great job there. The controls, however, made this way harder than it needed to be, making it almost unplayable for me. Music was very annoying after the first minute :P Pretty good entry overall, good luck.

They Were Just Pixels by Ohems 2014-08-25T18:23:00

Hiya!
I liked the idea behind the game, I thought it was too easy until the rolling text said "It was easy." and then I smiled :).
I can say I liked every part of the game, but I especially loved the mood and graphics. The minimalism serves it well (probably unintentional but still, it distances the player from the killing, which I guess was your purpose).
Only complaint would be the text is a bit tedious and could use some revision :P
Good luck!

A Ludic Proof of the Difficulties Inherent in Finding a Proper Skull by JackDegree 2014-08-27T15:31:00

I liked the concept a lot, especially it's originality. The duality was very well-done. It is not something I would normally play, but I can see its merits ;)

Once Inside by TautNerve 2014-08-25T20:47:00

+10 for the fact that that dude who "sees things" turns around when you walk past him xD

Art is absolutely beautiful, and so is the concept. The message is thought-provoking and more hopeful than sad IMO. I really loved this. Great entry.

Double You by TobiasBodewig 2014-08-27T19:16:00

This reminded me a lot of a game called "The Company of Myself". I liked the level design and the difficulty curve. Graphics were adequate but the sound got a little annoying after a while. Overall a pretty solid entry, I hope you continue to work on it and expand it. With a little more polish it would be a great game :)

Berta by Spang 2014-08-26T20:13:00

Movement is shaky but the mechanic is very solid and it is great that you had the presence of mind to put in checkpoints. Graphics suit it very well, and music was fun as well, gave it something special.

Connection of the worlds by CyberNinja 2014-08-27T19:22:00

Pretty cool concept. The ship's turning speed made it a bit hard to control for me at times. Otherwise the graphics are pretty cool and the sfx were appropriate and not too intrusive. Liked it overall.

W4 by jpmit 2014-08-26T20:08:00

Very smart level design, and a rather cool mechanic that fit the theme. Graphics and sound were okay.

Good job overall!

Divided World by OadT 2014-08-25T18:17:00

Frantic farm game :P I liked it. Graphics I REALLY liked as well as the story. The theme I felt could have been used better.

Also, I got a strange behaviour... two of my patches would pop up "Bad Bottom" error when I tried to plant get oil there. Dunno if it's intentional or not.

Liked it overall, good luck!

SPACE WAR by Zer0 2014-08-27T20:14:00

Cola is bad for you.

I liked the particle effects a bunch, I think the controls are pretty spot on as well. It did get a bit bland after a while, and I think you ought to reduce the hitbox on the player's ship.

Overall, I liked the graphics, and the sound effects were pretty cool as well. As you yourself said, theme was not very well-implemented here :P

But very good job, and you will likely participate in many more LDs. I'm interested to see what you will bring to the table next time, 'cause there is talent here :).

Siziphus's Adventures! by ronsap123 2014-08-27T20:29:00

Nice innovative mechanics, but I felt the game was a bit too difficult. I often got into "unfair" situations where I couldn't move aside in time and lost and felt like it wasn't my fault :(

Graphics are pretty cool, with some more polish on the mechanics and some sound, you could sell this :P

Just make it fair!

The Weaver Of Links by Toubib 2014-08-27T17:29:00

Pretty cool execution-based platformer. Quite challenging as well. There are some quirks with collision detection, and I was not a big fan of the graphics (it was not consistent throughout, or at least that's what I felt). However, the sound gels well with the game, and the level design is very smart.

The concept was very fun as well, I think with some more time you can explore a lot of additional possibilities with it.

I liked! Good luck in the competition and in the future :)

Balance the Worlds by slowfrog 2014-08-25T18:35:00

Hiya! I loved the idea and think it would have been a great management/juggling (spinning planets, he he) game with some more fleshing out. Graphics are good and serve it well. When I tried to transfer water from the water planet, it said it is transferring fire... I'm assuming it's a graphics/gui thing as opposed to a gameplay thing because the target wasn't getting hotter.

Also, before I knew what's what I heated the air planet waaaaay too much and now I can't cool it, but I'm still playing and trying to figure out how xD

I think keyboard hotkeys would have made the game better for faster players, but maybe defeated your purpose, I dunno.

Overall, really liked the concept and can only lament the idea you didn't get to COMPLETELY finish it :)

Good luck!

NOODLE FEELING by Magdev 2014-08-28T15:57:00

All hail the noodle god-king and His religious ornament :D

Liked the "wtfness" of it a lot, and the visuals and sounds are top notch too.

Starpiercer by Schrodinger Games 2014-08-28T06:23:00

Extreme levels of polished atmosphere. Gameplay is also pretty solid if a bit easy. I didn't understand how the theme is incorporated though.

Very solid entry :)

Tilegend by oriolgalimany 2014-08-25T17:47:00

Hiya! I liked the game, and the title :) It's a lot like Time Fcuk which I rather enjoyed. Music got very annoying after a while, but that's my only complaint. Levels are well designed and often require out-of-the-box thinking. Good job and good luck!

World Traveler by puppetmaster 2014-08-26T18:31:00

Loved the ambiance and the atmosphere... ++ on graphics and sound! In terms of gameplay I think there is a small issue with collision, for instance, if I press up and right and I hit an edge on the top side, I should continue moving right, but this doesn't happen, and I stop on my tracks.

Aside from that, pretty nifty and stylish entry.

Remnant by braqoon 2014-08-27T20:34:00

Pretty nice and atmospheric timing/control game. I especially liked the graphics and ambient sounds. Spooky!

Abridged worlds by littlerockplanet 2014-08-29T05:21:00

Hiya, the concept here was pretty cool, but why make W move forward relative to player rotation and not to the camera? (i.e, w moves up even if you're facing right).

I liked the overall aesthetic but think it needs a bit more variation. Pretty cool entry overall! Good job.

Connected We Run by Sandcrawler 2014-08-25T21:11:00

Loved the concept. Scoring seemed erratic though. Also, I think that when one of the dudes dies, then it should be game over. One of mine dropped down and I was left with only one other, game was easy then until I mis-jumped to a far platform xD

Overall great idea and the minimalistic graphics only add :)

Linked Planets by Crazy-Goat-Media 2014-08-29T05:30:00

I liked how you could use the links as a weapon vs. the asteroids; pick a random new link and connect it to the asteroid, normally it will lose its speed.

Neat little concept overall, pretty cool puzzler :)

schizm by KittyMac 2014-08-25T21:58:00

Cool, smart game :) I got my ass beat handily every time, but I liked the overall framework and structure of the game. Of course with some more investment it could become a really wonderful game :D Sound was a nice bonus.

Well-done and good luck!

Planet Smasher by BradSmallPlanet 2014-08-25T21:16:00

Game requires a lot of skill in aiming but still feels a bit random as hitting enemy bullets with your own requires mega-luck or mega-precision. I loved the concept, the orbital mechanics were relatively well-executed, only input in that regard is: slower speed for us noobs xD.

Nice art style, music was okay too. Liked it! Good luck peeps.

Journey to the 5th Planet - My first Ludum Dare! by KevRevDev 2014-08-27T20:40:00

Audio got annoying fast, otherwise the game was solid. I liked the implementation of the double-jump mechanic, and the game had great level-design to challenge the player's thinking. Well-done!

Graphics were generally good, but I don't know why the terrain textures kept changing their sizes. Made it look a bit inconsistent.

Great effort!

Crossworld Club by Artamus 2014-08-25T17:20:00

Very stylish and atmospheric, I liked it a lot! The only downside, if it can be called that, is the simple gameplay. But it serves the game well so it's not really a downside :P Ending was great!

Interplanetary Postal Service by Pirate Hearts 2014-08-25T19:40:00

Smart little game. Very competent and focused! I liked the old graphics and the sound-cues were good. the customer grunts told me something was wrong when I delivered them postage late. How does it calculate time passed to get customer satisfaction? From the time the letter is produced or after it is sorted? I'm inclined to think the former. 39/40 packages delivered, 17/28 satisfied customers. How bad am I? :P

Jack and the Rotating Worlds by owyoow 2014-08-27T20:19:00

Liked the exploration in this, and the controls were pretty floaty but in a good way; they made the game more challenging.

Needs checkpoints IMO. Like, maybe make the last portal you used the checkpoint. Graphics were suitable, and sound was pretty ok. I would have used a more calm and zen track instead of the happy feel track that is in the game, but that's just my own taste :). Good luck!

Waterfly Octus by gillenew 2014-08-25T21:24:00

Liked the graphics the most here :) Controls were pretty floaty (I'm assuming on purpose) which made it challenging and more fun to dodge things. However,I got a feeling sometimes that the hit boxes should have been made smaller.

Overall a great entry. Good luck!

Peak by ofwindandsea 2014-08-26T20:18:00

Awesome entry! I think the only thing it needs is some polish on the difficulty curve. It starts off as being VERY difficult. Graphics, sound, mood, all do the job, but it is the mechanic and the team that truly make this game great.

World Portals by Keevinw 2014-08-29T14:10:00

Good, challenging platformer. Good job! Just make some graphics :)

Galeas by magmaCrab 2014-08-25T21:05:00

Heya, I liked the concept and the visuals are crisp and very stylish. I enjoyed moving around but I didn't do very well. I tried to kill the shooting towers but they shot me too fast and the reach of my cannons made it so that I needed to get really close to kill them, while they shot very far.

Overall I think this could be a gem if the fighting gameplay elements are tightened up a bit.

Wonderful entry otherwise! Good luck :)

496e737472756374696f6e by DDFranky 2014-08-29T05:56:00

Pretty nice platformer. Just needs faster movement :P Get well soon mate!

Bolt by pxlcoder 2014-08-25T22:02:00

A nice simple game. The execution was top notch, very polished, simplistic graphics that go along very well with the concepts. Levels were well-designed too and provided increasing challenge.

Sound got annoying after a while I guess, but that's about it :)

Solid entry, good luck!

Spuzzle by noobay 2014-08-25T20:17:00

Great concept for a game, but the camera and the WASD controls didn't click for me and I couldn't make the dude go where I wanted the dude to go in most cases. Great idea, needs some polish IMO :P.

Super Alien Bro by nerd burglars 2014-08-28T17:16:00

I ate plants :D Normally we something else with them around these parts... water them.

Mechanics were pretty solid and the pickups were fun to play with. Pretty difficult too! Great game overall :)

Alice by synchingfeeling 2014-08-29T05:37:00

I'm bad at this... 1062 :(

Loved the concept, really smart. The visuals and sounds were perfect for it too. Great entry!

Skyland - A Disconnected World by AndyGates 2014-08-25T17:26:00

Strangely, what I most loved about this was the control mechanic which some people didn't like :P It actually takes skill to aim and shoot, as opposed to the boring shooting with the mouse. I liked the game overall, but as you mentioned in one of your comments, I think it would have benefited from "multiple lives" in the way of one of the other people becoming the bridge builder.
Great entry, good luck!

Cross the Void by DeathPidgeon 2014-08-26T06:25:00

Well-polished, VERY suitable and appropriate graphics IMO. Only thing I might say that is remotely negative is that there was a sudden spike of difficulty between levels 5 and six. Other than that, liked the entry, pretty solid and stylish :)

Mike and the Quest for the Missing Ham by TeamFaceDesk 2014-08-26T18:49:00

Liked the concept here, but I think the graphics need to be a bit more consistent throughout. I loved the parts of it that were low-res mess (like the font), but they don't work alongside the sprite for the main character because it is more high-res.

I also think that the vertical movement mechanics and controls need some tightening up.

Sound was great IMO, and so was the humor! Good luck in the jam :)

Seeing Double by bkr 2014-08-27T19:28:00

Reminded me of my own game somewhat xD I think the controls need tightening up... for instance the enemies shoot way too fast for you to dodge because your ship responds slowly to input... so you need to find a middle ground between enemy bullet speed and your own speed.

I liked the idea though ;) and the sound effects were cute. Graphics could be improved. Good effort and good luck!

Galactic Dump by SoulGame 2014-08-26T21:47:00

Excellent and gorgeous. Fit the theme perfectly, pretty innovative gameplay, and the visual polish is top notch. Sell this, for real. Would be an awesome mobile game.

StarShrimp Trooper by 01101101 2014-08-28T17:23:00

I loved the dedicated web page. Feels very professional and polished :). Now for game. Hey look, it's polished too. Art was amazing, music as well. Overall the mechanics were pretty fine-tuned as well.

The intro lasting 30 secs is not an issue because it is an amazing intro and should be watched over and over again.

Great entry :)

InterDimensional by Kinta 2014-08-26T06:50:00

Loved the art here, too bad I have no one to play with. The mechanics seem good, but when you jump and hit a wall you slide upwards (on the wheel). Was that intentional? Also found some general collision "weird behaviour" but other than that it's well-implemented and looks fun (if I had someone to play with :))

Breach of Dimensions by ursagames 2014-08-25T21:32:00

Movement and animations felt very slick. Fighting was a bit floaty but the decapitation animations made up for that :).

Pretty stylish entry, good luck!

Precipice by Canyon 2014-08-28T16:21:00

Liked the idea xD Playing this on a laptop is mega-tuff. Graphics are pretty cool too. Theme is only in the narrative, and the narrative isn't what this game is about dude! It's about blasting stuff and saving villagers :)

Stellarlink Corp by LTyrosine 2014-08-27T18:21:00

Original, but was too difficult for me to connect with my transmission and I got frustrated :( I liked the music and graphics were appropriate as well. Nice one!

Flip Flop by kyyrma 2014-08-25T19:34:00

Awesome entry! Really liked this :D Reminded me of a bygone era. Everything about it is great from gameplay to graphics+sound. The theme is perfectly displayed here.

Good Luck (not that you'll need it :P)

A World Apart by pighead10 2014-08-25T18:06:00

I knew someone else would make a scrolling shooter :D

I liked the concept ;) and the graphics. Sound was OK as well. It felt like the game moved too fast for me, and the decision to shoot with the mouse was also weird to me. Aside from that, good job and nice effort! Good luck!

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Mutants Must Die by noonat 2015-04-22T17:56:00

Don't know why, but beating up the mutants felt oddly satisfying... I guess it's the weird sensation of having the key pressed down and having the dude do all the work... Sound effects would have likely made it feel way better.

Graphics are decent, concept is cool, too bad you couldn't finish it :(

Grow My Thing by ChronoDK 2015-04-20T21:15:00

31 inches. If only [Cries].

I must say, FINALLY a game where the unconventional weapon BEHAVES differently as opposed to just looks like an unconventional weapon. +Points for that.
You should add a powerup that makes the penis smaller so it's easier to shoot, since gaining size is in essence gaining difficulty.

Graphics are great, sound is just fantastic, very solid entry, only beef is its lack of content.

Good luck!

2003: Iraq by xgeovanni 2015-04-20T21:02:00

10/10 would invade Iraq again.

(Voices in this cracked me up).

BED✰HOGG by 01010111 2015-04-23T17:17:00

Holy hells that Nidhogg parody xD Great game, gorgeous graphics and the sound is very effective. The concept is great as well, I'm kinda sorry I didn't have anyone to play it with xD

Gravity by Pinpickle 2015-04-21T05:55:00

Requires a lot of skill (accuracy and speed). Pretty challenging, but very cool as well. SFX were great, and the graphics were not out of place and were very coherent. Liked it!

Good luck :)

Vacuum Hero by Evgiz 2015-04-20T21:20:00

Great, solid entry. Everything from the graphics, to the music, to the gameplay. I dig the usage of the theme because it affects gameplay.

Good luck!

S-LAYER by Ryusui 2015-04-21T22:06:00

Great game! I really liked the graphics and concept of the unconventional weapon. Very cool and stylish realization. It's fairly hard, I'll grant that. I reached the two big popping eyes twice, died there twice and then rage quit xD

Great entry, good luck!

The Magical Hat of Usefulness by randoman 2015-04-21T22:01:00

Very difficult. Behavior is weird and interesting, I really wanted to see what every item did xD Cool use of the theme. Graphics were ok, so was sound.

Good luck!

Volcano Heist by barret907k 2015-04-22T10:30:00

Really liked the concept and the use of the theme... I thought I was good at micromanagement... I was wrong xD It's a pretty tough game... graphics are bad in a cute, good way, and it's a shame there are no sounds... Otherwise cool entry :)

Soulseeker by xandy 2015-04-22T21:48:00

Pretty cool concept and well-designed levels. Music would have been nice here. Only nits I have is regarding death and transition... they take too long xD

Graphics are okay, and I liked the position swapping mechanic...

Good luck!

Transmogrify! by Icelus 2015-04-22T10:17:00

Awesome! Great weapon and well-designed puzzle levels :) Sound effects were good, graphics were decent, but the concept and the different transformations for different enemies make it a very solid entry :D

Only thing I would suggest slightly tweaking would be the movement, as it feels a bit floaty.

Good luck!

Avian Days by esayitch 2015-04-21T06:38:00

@Nysten: Thanks for the kind words! Aye, the game is pretty hard, I should have made it easier. The Old link is harder, if you can believe it ;).
@Kassimkot: Yeah I noticed that the difficulty was an issue, so that's why I added the video, so people can still experience what the game is all about :D
@Languard: Thanks!
@Suese: Regarding the mechanics... I sort of agree, should have made the collision detection for the spikes better IMO and the player movement feel more fluid.
@stevenlr: I'm glad you liked the sound, I think it's the weakest point personally. Some parts ARE too frustrating (you can see me failing in them repeatedly during my playthrough), so I feel your pain xD
@DarkMeatGames: Thanks! I will probably revisit the controls to make them more fluid :)
@SawyerWeld: That is what I was aiming for, I hope it's not TOO difficult!
@Madball: Wow, great review :D Thanks for having the patience to finish the game! I agree with most of what you said.. some of the issues I didn't notice (like dropping down to the platform and using the birds to climb to the last Upgrade) in time to fix, and the boss was hastily made in an hour, 3 hours before submission and is pretty straightforward and boring to me too... There is also another exploit that allows you to bypass the boss fight xD. I had planned on making a complete area that required you to use the "fly up" ability to bypass the puzzles, but I decided to cut that as otherwise I wouldn't have completed the game on time.
@Phil Strahl: Glad you liked the art! The game is too difficult, so you don't suck per se :). I didn't understand the need for a healthbar though, since you always die in one hit xD.
@furriKira: Well it doesn't stay like that for long ;)
@talecrafter: Thanks! If you want to see the ending but don't have time to keep trying to get there, you can watch the playthrough video xD

Thanks for the insightful comments guys, and good luck in the compo.

Cheers!

Avian Days by esayitch 2015-04-21T17:44:00

Ohhhh... Yeah that might have helped curb the difficulty a bit xD

Avian Days by esayitch 2015-04-21T19:52:00

@AdamW: Yeah I hear ya, it still needs some fine-tuning :)
@Cheshyr: Thanks!
@Reccy: Yup, needs a better difficulty curve xD
@Hamsternator: Thanks!
@nuprahtor: Thanks for the feedback, I may add a delay as suggested xD
@Tanser: You are too kind :D
@Dege: Yeah there is an issue with the death sound playing a lot of times. Thanks!
@HotBoxGames: Birds stop killing you when you get the first upgrade :P Thanks for playing :)
@local minimum: Yeah, spike collision needs some fine-tuning... I played it so much during testing that I got used to that, but I need to work on it. Note that since the game is very difficult, I added a playthrough video so that you can sort of experience the game all the way to the ending if you like.

Avian Days by esayitch 2015-04-29T21:40:00

@bentglasstube: Yeah, graphics were inspired by Canabalt :) Spikes are too "wide" currently, something that was improved in the post-compo version, but they are still pretty hard to bypass xD. Thanks!
@nihilaleph: Thanks! Yeah it needs fine-tuning :) Cheers!
@rectangular Tim: Yeah I think sounds are the weakest aspect of the game :(. I've 0 talent in that department.
@asobi tech: Cheers!
@RobotHoboDanceParty: Glad you liked it :D
@iSamurai: Yeah, it was supposed to be a flash game but it was too slow in flash :(
@Embalaje: Thanks for your kind words :D
@natalye: Heya, first of all thanks a lot for the time you took to write that out, I really appreciate that input. The tutorial is WAY too difficult, I agree... I sort of became used to the mechanics that for me it is trivial but for someone unfamiliar with them, it can prove to be very hard... same goes for most of the game actually. Agreed about a bird riding mechanic, but falling off of them is part of the difficulty xD I was originally planning on creating puzzles involving bird movement that the player would have to leap between the birds to stay alive, and could tumble and fall as well, but I didn't get around to that.
Thanks a lot for the input again, I'm glad you liked it xD
@Ludonaut: Thanks!
@fixitteam: Cheers :)
@ehtd: Haha, birds rock >.>
@phi6: Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it :) (played your game btw, really liked it xD)
@yuigoto: Haha, you are too kind :D I still need to work on a difficulty curve that is sane and normal, not one that starts off hard and ends up being very hard xD
@6DownStudios: Cheers :D!
@pistolshrimps: Thanks!
@Midnight Creators: Thanks :)
@Krunoslav: Yup, need to tone down the difficulty.
@DeadFragment: Yeah, I need to make it more accessible. Tutorial area was done a few hours before the deadline, so it is difficult and rushed.
@runvs: Thanks a bunch :D Yeah sound effects are annoying, and imo music is pretty bad as well :S
@Ryusui: Haha xD No you're not the only one, you're the third who told me about it :D
@Franklin's Ghost: :)
@siryakko: Yeah, need to make the controls less fussy.
@SaintHeiser: Sure there is no sound? There is supposed to be xD But maybe it's good you didn't hear it since it sucks :X
@jsmars: Yeah I understand, I appreciate you putting the effort though xD
@Jwatt: First off thanks for taking the time, I really appreciate this much detail in the feedback :P... regarding bread limitation... it was a performance consideration (too many birds made the game slow down)... and the areas are designed so that between two subsequent CPs you only need 25 crumbs anyways xD. Agreed about the controls and general gameplay "style" though. I preferred to go for a difficult platformer over a moody/artsy game with relaxed platforming but wide expanses to explore simply because I had never done a game like this before, and preferred to complete it... creating difficult puzzles with tight controls is something I know how to do, drawing up different environments and adding a more nuanced tone might have been something I wouldn't have finished on time... if I go back to it more extensively, I will probably combine both xD Sections of exploration/mystery/environment and smaller, tighter, more difficult sections (that will still be easier than the game currently is). And yeah autotracker is pretty obvious xD... I wanted to toy with musagi but I got reallllly stressed towards the deadline... sound is probably the weakest area of the game IMO... and thanks again for the valuable feedback! Cheers :D
@ChronusZ: I almost didn't (finish) :P thanks a lot for the kind words :)
@Tselmek: Yeah agreed about the difficulty, needs toning down :(

Carroty Wars by lurils 2015-04-23T17:14:00

Very nice graphics, sprites are really well done. Like many here have said, game is very hard due to the enemy shot size... music would have made this pretty excellent :) Really liked the theme usage as well.

Good luck!

Saucery by mockthebear 2015-04-21T17:13:00

Great execution of the mix-elements-on-the-fly-to-create spells concept... Graphics were good, sound was all right but got a bit annoying... While there are many spells, levels are pretty straightforward and not very eventful. I guess that's my main input.

Otherwise, solid entry :) Good luck!

Glitch Gun by zerocreativity1 2015-04-22T21:31:00

The only thing lacking here is sound effects. Other than that... music loop is fantastic... gameplay concept is great and it is carried out in great fashion... graphics are beautiful... You can probably sell a sponsorship for this, easy.

Wonderful entry, good luck!

Quiver of Claws by Bensonance 2015-04-22T13:58:00

Got a fatal error and the game crashed after level 2. Aside from that, when an enemy dies, it interrupts the player mid jump, and when the player begins to charge an attack, any enemy arrows in mid-air immediately fall down (That last one may have been intentional).

Aside from that, awesome, awesome, awesome... everything from graphics, background loop, sfx, and the sheer wackiness of the concept... great entry!

South by Verz 2015-04-21T22:15:00

It wasn't obvious to me what I am supposed to be doing, because the enemies are so small. Eventually I understood...

The game is pretty cool, interpretation of the theme is good, graphics are fantastic, sound is somber and appropriate. Great entry. Good luck!

Bubble Becky by Dining Philosopher 2015-04-21T05:31:00

Nice graphics and very well-thought out weapon mechanics. The background music was great, but the sound effects were lacking a bit (no sound for walking/jumping, and the death sound was weird).

Very solid entry. Good luck!

Compassion by masterboth 2015-04-20T21:41:00

I very much liked the art style and the atmosphere (a shame that there wasn't any music to accompany the visuals) Nice twist at the end, didn't see it coming :)

Good luck!

Soundkraft by 02fc.exe 2015-04-22T18:03:00

That gave me epilepsy xD J/K, awesome effects and graphics, and the sfx are fantastic as well. Weapon is fairly creative... game is complete, congratulations xD

Good luck!

Dear Chancellor by Ludonaut 2015-04-22T17:50:00

This may be the best thing I have seen. IRL.

One of them by Pierrec 2015-04-21T14:15:00

I think this is a great entry... I really liked the graphics and the atmosphere... The way the ending was executed was excellent.

At first I thought the choices the player made affected the appearance of the girls, but I replayed it a bit and noticed that was not the case. Would have been great if it was, as then the ending would resonate more strongly. However since it is a 48 hour game, it is expected, so no biggie xD

Like I said, great entry and good luck!

Photophobia by NuSan 2015-04-20T12:59:00

Very atmospheric. The graphics were great, the sound was very good and wasn't annoying. Gameplay was relatively simple, and at first I thought you could attack with your light... but then I realized you use it as a weapon "against the darkness".
Good luck!

The Way of the Unconventional Weapon by Mikel 2015-04-21T21:31:00

Game was way too easy... the audio was all right at first but then got annoying pretty fast...
Graphics were very good, so was the story. I liked the humor a lot :)

Good luck!

Noodly Appendage by Lerc 2015-04-22T08:43:00

Very cool weapon indeed :) I liked how the appendage behaved and controlled, and I got a good degree of satisfaction when I killed an enemy with it. Graphics are all right, sound effects are okay, but the real star is the appendage xD

Good luck!

Bond by Cheshyr 2015-04-20T16:43:00

The control of the ball is very sluggish, even for a ball (I know it's supposed to roll around and not have high drag, but I felt it was TOO loose). Other than that, the rubber band concept is really cool.

I'm liking entries where the "weapon" can be something that is used to solve puzzles or kill enemies in creative ways, not just "weird" LOOKING bullets without special behavior... So this has that covered.

Cool entry, good luck!

Small Popcorn Adventure by cinnamonmelonpig 2015-04-21T21:26:00

Pretty funky and well-drawn. Music got on my nerves pretty fast, but the popcorn mechanic is pretty fun to clown around with.

Good luck!

(mental)fairy by 0x0961h 2015-04-22T22:29:00

Great graphics, great sound, and shooting feels good. My only suggestion would have been to make the theme feature not only in the description of the enemies and the player character, but in the actual gameplay behavior...
Also, after a certain point the game becomes just keeping the space button pressed down, since your bullets hit everything anyway xD

Aside from these two points, the game is very good :) Good luck!

What Do They Want? by DesignerNap 2015-04-20T13:09:00

I liked the no-text thing. Graphics are pretty okay as well, and sfx sit very well with the game. Was pretty confused throughout... I noticed the signals change when I got missiles close the ship, but I didn't understand what I was supposed to do.
The concept is very strange, in a great way, really liked it :D
Good luck.

Ghost 39 by nurabsal 2015-04-22T18:09:00

I liked the aesthetic for some reason xD Minimal color palettes are very appealing to me for some reason. Could have used some audio. Aside from that, game is pretty nice, would be interested to see what you do with the upgrades/story if you ever decide to expand it. I liked the small resolution as well, gave it a bite-sized feel.

Good luck!

Bacannon by donan 2015-04-21T14:03:00

Very funny game, shooting bacon feels good, and this is supported by the sound effects. Graphics were pretty cool as well. Could have used more variety in regards to bacon behavior and enemy types, but other than that it's good and addictive.

Good luck!

FEATHERROCK by FuzzyWuzzie 2015-04-22T16:58:00

So cool. Divebombing with the feather rock feels soooo good xD Cool idea for the given theme. I don't know why you were worried about the graphics, they are very good. SFX are great too. Very solid entry all around :D

Good luck!

Space Boy by Hyoga-3D 2015-04-21T23:11:00

Music was good at first, but then got annoying. Graphics are pretty stylish. Gameplay is fairly solid, had to get used to the shooting directions at first but after that it was fun.

Cool entry, good luck!

Glide Bomb by Rahazan 2015-04-22T17:34:00

Fairly stylish puzzler :) I liked the drawing mechanic, it felt smooth and well-made, and the concept itself is very cool. Graphics were all right, but I'd consider using another font. Music was pretty good as well.

Good luck!

Blackboard Wars by KedumeBits 2015-04-20T22:54:00

I really dug the aesthetic for this. A small note: The chalk seems to be firing from its top left position... would be better if it fired from the center.

Aside from that, gameplay was a bit repetitive. With some powerups or different chalk behavior I tihnk this would have been addicting xD

Good job overall, good luck.

100 Dollars Unicorns by td2tl 2015-04-21T12:29:00

Very, very, difficult, I think I got 200 on my best try xD, and even that was while sticking to unicorns that are near the platform xD.

Graphics were great, so were sfx. Could have used a fun tune to loop in the background IMO.

Let Me Out by Psyho 2015-04-21T22:42:00

Pretty cool, stylish game, but I didn't understand what the unconventional weapon was. The first three levels are all walking and you can't fall, and then you have a level with multiple jumps that is not very clear where they are... so the two things I have to point out are: 1) Usage of theme, 2) Difficulty curve.

Aside from that, I really loved the graphics and the sound. The game is very atmospheric and creepy. Good job on that!

Good luck!

Long Live The Great Leader! by iSamurai 2015-04-22T09:57:00

Aside from the movement (too slow), and actual lack of use of the theme, and the lack of music, this was a great game :) Graphics are excellent, shooting feels good (the closer an enemy, the more accurate the shooting is, don't know if it was intentional but you got a risk-reward thing going with that). Makes me sad there are no sound effects at least :(

Good stuff, good luck!

Stupid Bird by Orava 2015-04-21T12:50:00

Holy hells that animation of the flailing bird made me laugh xD

Very nice-looking art, I really dig the style, pretty unique for an LD. Music was very good, and so were the dialogues. Solid entry all around, good luck!

Scary Faerie by jojocanard 2015-04-20T14:28:00

Heya, pretty solid game all around. I liked the humor in this one... Took me two tries to beat, so it is a little on the easy side :P

The Murderers of Originality by IamAcoconut 2015-04-22T01:21:00

Voice over was pretty annoying... entry was okay to play... Would make the other ninjas a bit slower xD Second level weapon is a bit worthless... I preferred to dodge fights than to try and fight. A small cooldown between hits you take would be good as well, to allow you to "get out" of combat and prepare again.

Good luck!

Mummy Hates Heroes by ploogle 2015-04-22T16:30:00

Concept is pretty wacky and awesome, but the game is pretty broken :( controls always stop responding at some point and I can't keep playing... Sound was pretty cool, and I dig the aesthetic.

Baker's Dozen by Anheurystics 2015-04-22T09:14:00

Hmm, I dig the concept and the art (music included), but I have two suggestions for improvement:
1) Change the control scheme... either make the shooting mouse driven, like any twin stick shooter, or make it like Binding of Isaace, where the arrows shoot in their direction as opposed to changing the crosshair. This game was difficult to control because the control scheme is a bit unusual.
2) Make the theme feature more... Make the behavior if the weapon more unique.

Good luck!

Arthur and the Staff of Arbitrary Arrangement by Rscar 2015-04-21T06:03:00

Great concept! Could have used some audio. Graphics are fine. Effects are great.

Good luck!

Fathom by Joe Williamson 2015-04-21T05:26:00

Insanely polished and beautiful. I wish I could give suggestions, but I can think of nothing to improve this.

Savior by CarlsonAndPeeters 2015-04-21T21:39:00

Movement needs to be way tighter. Sliding across floors is not fun unless it's an ice-skating game xD
Aside from that, sfx were great, music was ok, graphics were very, very good. Concept is pretty cool as well and it makes good use of the theme. Good luck!

Nuclear Autumn by phi6 2015-04-23T12:19:00

Can honestly say this is pretty amazing, especially for the timeframe... the world feels very large and well-built; the wall jumping puzzles and dash puzzles are difficult but not too difficult. Graphics = amazing, sound = amazing.

If there is anything to point out as maybe needing consideration is the usage of the theme in the actual gameplay mechanics, but it is still pretty fantastic as it is. I am honestly amazed xD

Badass Inc by deepnight 2015-04-21T21:08:00

Fantastic stuff there... great use of the theme, great graphics, great music... a 5/5 if I ever saw one :)

Genemon by Pietro Ferrantelli 2015-04-21T12:40:00

Game is fantastic, you could probably sell it if you polish it. Great concept and execution, graphics are fantastic, so is the sound. My only suggestion would be to make the creatures have more pronounced special ability; i.e. a creature that heals, or one that bombs an area every once in a while, etc. I haven't gotten far, so if that is something you do later on, cool!

Good luck!

Sad Planets by JulioC 2015-04-21T23:20:00

Sometimes I get stuck for no reason, and the camera doesn't keep up with the player too much and lags behind.

Aside from that, great level generation and the concept is executed well. Could have used some sounds.

Good luck!

Lets go Bananas in outer space by Smiley 2015-04-21T22:49:00

Pretty cool game, even though I didn't get to the ending. Needs more powerups, and also needs to tell the player which powerup is active. Graphics are pretty cool. Too bad there is no sound. Enemy design is pretty fun as well. Good job!

What They Want to Hear by nknauth 2015-04-22T16:26:00

I actually liked the simplistic visuals in this game. What was difficult is the amount of enemy shots coming towards the player right from the get go. It was immediately intuitive that you need to type the word under the enemy bullet, and as a result the game is spiced up and is no longer just a simple typing game. Good luck!

The Grand Carpet Hotel by dunin 2015-04-22T21:23:00

Pretty innovative, carpet as a weapon xD. It feels good to knock those buggers out too. Graphics are pretty cool, sound is all right but can get annoying. Cool game :) I noticed that in the first level, I actually died, but still went to the second level.

Good luck!

SLICK LICKER by KodingNights 2015-04-22T22:33:00

'C' is undefined, game froze, music played... Like GlowingSnail only it was the 'c' instead of the 'a'... music is pretty annoying, but I really dig the concept of using your tongue as a weapon... Graphics need some work IMO...

Good luck!

Mass-X by hexagore 2015-04-21T21:18:00

Great graphics, clever and sometimes infuriating level design, add to that a dash of humor and a nice position swapping mechanic that feels fluid.

Very solid all around. Good luck!

Guardian Shield by longshorts 2015-04-20T14:48:00

Played the hard version.

Really liked the sounds in this because they reminded of much older games. Art was okay, gameplay was fine. I found that at the start of the game I wasn't using the boost at all, only later on.

If I could suggest something, is that the faster the game becomes, the faster the shield regens. That will make the gameplay more fast-paced as you will want to hit more ships. Now, the faster the game becomes the more I dodge enemies until my shield regens, so I have a sort of "break" from the core gameplay.

Good luck!

Pillow Fightin'!! by shyupuff 2015-04-20T16:55:00

Hi there,
Graphics are pretty solid (could have maybe used more fluid animations but they are good as is), controls are fine. I really liked how when you are charging the pillow you move slower, that way there is a tradeoff. The enemy is pretty strong and interesting as well, but I found that I could almost never hit it with the medium/strong attacks.

Good luck!

Ion cannon by umb16 2015-04-22T10:12:00

Great game! Graphics were really really good (Except the text). Resolution was too big though; I didn't see parts of the screen. Weapon feels extremely polished and awesome to use. I found myself constantly trying to group enemies up so I could hit more of them. Upgrades are all nice and contribute to the gameplay. Very, very good game!

Good luck :)

Battle of Tolzford by Franklin's Ghost 2015-04-27T18:34:00

Great entry :) Loved the message as well as the critique of traditional RPGs. Animations would have improved this but it's still pretty good looking :)

Good luck!

Lolita Tea Party by jpc133 2015-04-22T08:37:00

++kyyrma's comment.

Pretty funny entry... gameplay could be a bit more diverse, as is usage of the theme, but it's all right as it is xD

Good luck!

Tranquility by tanjent 2015-04-20T15:40:00

Really liked this. Graphics were fantastic, and the sounds were very good too. Gameplay is casual fun. Adding a timer would have made this hardcore, especially since making a monster go where you want it to go takes time and practice.

Did you make this with flixel/HaxeFlixel? I'd recognize that font anywhere xD

Lagman by reiknight 2015-04-22T16:07:00

Lag simulation 10/10 would lag again xD

And serious, nice take on the theme, graphics are cool, but the sound is great because it is so mellow and calm, while the player would be raging... Cool entry :)

Hippie Run by winmac32 2015-04-20T16:40:00

Liked the music, and the arcadey/arena gameplay. Could use some powerups I guess... Graphics are good, so is the concept. Could have used the theme more I guess, but it's good as is.

Good luck!

Out Shooting Boxes by joylessSnake 2015-04-22T22:12:00

I like how you used the theme... you shoot enemies that kill the other enemy but also kill you... so the more accurate you are the better. Gets pretty hectic later on. I think it needed to be clearer with some artwork as it has very little... some sounds would have helped as well.

Good luck!

Irmgard Reichts by Ancient_Pixel 2015-04-20T23:09:00

SFX were pretty cool, graphics were decent. Movement was sluggish and the weapon was just weird. Pretty funny premise for a game though :P.

Decent entry overall, good luck!

The War Dog by Xinelu 2015-04-21T20:48:00

Atmosphere and story in this was very, very emotional. Good job on that. Gameplay could use more dimensions... but it is very good as is.

Red Threat by rjhelms 2015-04-22T16:19:00

The weapon swapping mechanic made this rather interesting. I really liked the visual style. Music was cool too...

A solid entry all around :P Good luck!

Screaming Wizards by Mizipzor 2015-04-20T12:47:00

Heya, pretty cool quick game. I'd suggest adding the option to mute and also making the words have a difficulty curve... i.e, in the beginning shorter and more well-known words, later on more difficult ones. Graphics are cute, so is the concept, fireballs look great :D
Good luck!

6 Pack Vendetta by PurpleApes 2015-04-21T17:17:00

Was too stiff for me to properly enjoy... is there a reason why you have so many angles on the weapon? From the first few levels it seems like you only need the 0 and 90 or -90 angles... Enemies on the ground disappear after they hurt you. Theme could have been used better as well...

Good luck!

Feed The Birds by Gunzil 2015-04-22T16:33:00

Yay! Another Bird game!

Pretty cool sandbox xD I had difficulty controlling the direction of the throw... but the concept was pretty neat :P And the graphics too. The duck sound effect when it zooms down is pretty awesome in a weird kind of way as well.

Potato King by davidcmcdonald 2015-04-22T10:21:00

Suggestion: Make controls keyboard only, since the player is not using the mouse for aiming. Aside from that, a pretty cool, simple game. I wish the theme was used better though, like different types of feces, you have normal lumps that you shoot, then you have a diarrhea "beam" attack, etc. Graphics were cute, shoot sound effect was okay.

Good luck!

Glasses Protector 2000 by leafo 2015-04-23T13:13:00

A hilarious and very well-realized entry at the same time xD Very stylish rhythm game... damn I wish I had that long a tongue... because... you know... reasons [whistle innocently].

Graphics are great :D

Good luck!

Sock Ninja by monkeedude1212 2015-04-30T11:27:00

Nice concept, graphics and sound are all right as well... there is some issues with collision, especially while jumping over friendlies...

Good job overall, good luck :)

Bears and Bees by Harley77 2015-04-20T23:04:00

Pretty cool concept and weird ass weapons. Graphics are okay. Sound effects for hits/dying enemies got annoying after a while. Other that that pretty neat game. Good luck!

Her Majesty's Apathy Bomb by ianburnette 2015-04-27T17:26:00

Found all 6 endings xD Pretty cool game, and a great homage! The apathy bomb is a great concept that can be even made into an action arcadey/puzzle game where you throw it at people to temporarily disable their aggression, etc. But this is a neat way to explore the concept as well :)

Good luck!

The Grape Escape: Banana Shadow by tweedle 2015-04-22T14:36:00

I loved the aesthetic in this and the concept is great, but I wish that theme was expressed more in the behaviour of the projectile as opposed to it's appearance... Music was great as well.

Good luck!

DUK by Domicuc 2015-04-20T16:28:00

I liked the tunes, and the sprites are pretty neat as well. The game can use more animations though, and the controls are floaty. Also, there doesn't seem to be a lot to do... the first few levels are all a bit filler-ish.

Good luck in the challenge!

The Hand That Feeds by Skinny Jean Death 2015-04-26T20:39:00

Loved the concept... and the pet animations when it grows are really great... music is all right...

The problem is that the pet path-finding was weird at times, and in addition that platforming felt awkward, slow, and non-responsive. If you fix the player movement issues, I think you'd have a really good game :D Great entry for the jam though! Good luck :)

Bears in the Dark by Ivan Volkov 2015-04-22T09:31:00

Pretty cool concept and the darkness mechanic is really well-made. Game is a good challenge! Graphics were all right, that bear sprite when he kills you is really nice xD Sound was on key too, spooky without being corny.

Good job!

Dr. U and the bottomless PIT by farwyler 2015-04-22T07:51:00

Very stylish entry and a good take on the theme... Is there a reason to not always stay with the umbrella activated though?

Great graphics, great audio, and great concept. Good luck!

Deadly rain by Sublustris 2015-04-21T22:12:00

Took me a while to realize that the helicopter is actually the unconventional weapon. Great game... the helicopter shoots based on your position right? If yes then it's my fault I got into situations where I couldn't continue because the jumps were too high xD. If it is completely random, then it can create unpassable terrain. Great concept, great graphics, great sound.

Only suggestion I have is to make the player able to restart by pressing keyboard after they die... having to press the LMB while the game is keyboard controlled is counter-intuitive.

Great entry aside from that :D Good luck!

Spell Mates by Backterria 2015-04-22T21:42:00

I have a few nits about this:
1) Transitions need to be clearer, I spent a few minutes until I just ran across the entirety of the first map, clicking down to see where the transition into the forest was.
2) Hitboxes are too big (spider can kill me, even though it is not "touching" me).

I was pretty lost throughout the experience, but, the graphics are gorgeous and the music is soothing and mellow. The game could use some sound effects aside from that...

I really dig the concept of having to summon several familiars to do your bidding, very befitting for the theme ;)

Good luck, great entry :)

Ted's Quest by notrorschach 2015-04-22T22:04:00

Pretty cool and funny entry... I felt the theme was not used very well, but other than that it was pretty good. Graphics are nice, and the story is pretty funny. Damn German speaking guys and the girls who love them ;)

Small suggestion, make both pickign up and throwing letters with Z OR X. There is no reason to have different keys for it.

Good luck!

Brickgun by skylinegames 2015-04-21T23:01:00

Cool shooter, nice crossy-road-like aesthetic as well. Shooting sfx were pretty cool as well. You need to make the weapons available earlier as otherwise you risk players getting bored and leaving before they try them.

Good luck!

Bar Fight by nihilaleph 2015-04-21T18:36:00

Great concept and the graphics are okay, could have used better animations but it's good as is. Sfx were pretty nice too. Movement was pretty difficult (which I guess is the whole point when you're drunk xD)

Good luck!

Food Fight APOCALYPSE by dusakus 2015-04-21T18:24:00

Sprite/Artwork was great, background loop was also fine... sound effects were okay but annoyed me after a while... aside from that, there are several collision issues (I managed to jump through the first house), and I avoided most enemies. Some enemies I jumped over but clearly hit, but took no damage... you can reach the end like this. The concept is interesting but you could have used the theme to better effect...

Good entry overall, good luck and keep at it xD

Ninja bomb by magnusdane 2015-04-21T06:46:00

It feels like the hitbox on the player is too big... I was being hit by spikes/enemies I wasn't touching... I also felt that the game was a bit too fast; jumping too quickly and moving too quickly made it harder for me to control. In addition, there was a wall I could jump through...

Aside from that, graphics were pretty neat, so was the level design.

Good luck!

Rotten Fruit of the death by siryakko 2015-04-20T17:00:00

Very stylish and cool. Only complaint I have is the fact you have to restart from the beginning instead of the level you are in. Controls could be a bit tighter as well, but the concept is very good and the game is pretty fun. Sound is pretty appropriate as well.

Good job!

Farm Fury by ironleonem 2015-04-21T06:23:00

Pretty nice plant/grow/kill/repeat gameplay cycle... Enemies moved smartly most of the time. Was there a difference between the different fruit? I used carrots twice and didn't notice any difference so I stuck with strawberries afterwards until I died xD

Good luck!

HotMop by sararyCow 2015-04-26T20:35:00

Concept is great, so are the graphics... sound is all right but got annoying after a while... Controlling the dude was pretty hard, and I didn't really realize how using the mop helps usher anyone anywhere? I was just running into people and trying to bump them into the room... Good entry overall though.

Good luck!

A Way Out by Jakob37 2015-04-22T16:14:00

I played novice and quite liked it xD Typing was no issue, and the game had several small touches of variation throughout like the burst shot etc. Good entry :D Good luck!

Terminal by mike1101 2015-04-20T21:29:00

Pretty weird game... Tune was pretty somber. I don't understand how the theme is incorporated here. Are the terminals the weapon?

Good luck!

Nun Rush by zWizard 2015-04-22T17:46:00

Good job. Now my dad thinks I'm watching porn :X

Mario and the Poetry by gruhn 2015-04-21T21:43:00

Holy hells, that is some funny poetry xD I liked the concept of the game, making people friendly with poetry. I wish it could have featured more in the gameplay though, instead of just being "shoot them with poetry", maybe have unique mechanics that really reflect poetry?

Aside from that, graphics are pretty good, but the opening screen nearly gave me an epileptic attack. Music is very soothing and appropriate. Good job, good luck!

Pow-Pow Pop-Pop by ctufaro 2015-04-22T10:05:00

You have a very good core for a game... as it stands it's pretty repetitive and there is no "real" challenge. Perhaps add enemy variety, or limitations on the tennis ball usage, or make the tennis balls behave in a strange way, etc. I loved the artwork, especially the hand-drawn characters :). Music was very appropriate as well, so good selection there.

Good luck!

Insult Duelling by natalye 2015-04-21T17:53:00

Pretty tough to realize how to play, but I really liked the music and the art was pretty cute. The concept is great as well as is the use of the theme :P

Good luck!

Discourtesy Induced Death by Olias 2015-04-20T21:45:00

Oh man, this was tough, I barely managed to land one plane :). I loved the graphics and the troll was funny.

How was the theme featured here? Plane flying physics were fantastic.

Alien conjuror by EdibleKittens 2015-04-21T23:14:00

Game needs a health indicator and some sounds... other than that it's a pretty fun take on the theme (making a summoner). Jumping felt floaty, but otherwise controls were fine.

Good luck!

Berry | The Last Straw by yuigoto 2015-04-22T07:43:00

Pretty neat game design, especially on how the weapon works and how berry regains seeds and health. Graphics were pretty cool as well, sound was okayish...

Things that need improvement: 1) Enemy spawning algorithm causes lag and is not very interesting. 2) Make the controls clear; when starting didn't know how to shoot and just ran around like an idiot. 3) Grapes are too fast!

Good entry,, good luck!

Color Wars by Kitsubi 2015-04-22T16:24:00

Pretty difficult; this can be improved in two ways: 1) Make it so there are less enemies, and 2) Make it so that the player movement is tighter, right now the player seems to slide from place to place and I don't feel like I am in complete control of his movement. Other than that, concept is pretty fine, especially the standing over paint bit... ideally you wanna stay standing, but then all bullets will hit you, so you have to keep on moving. Is this your first entry? Pretty cool if it is and good luck :)

Evil Cupido: Haters gonna hate by Pixel Heart 2015-04-22T22:46:00

Really liked this, sans the way the theme featured in the game... The weapon of hatred doesn't behave differently than a normal bow, which is pretty disappointing :(.

But the game is really really good, graphics + sound effects are on point, and the arrow physics are very fun to play around with. I had a good time and finished it... good luck!

Space Wizard by Kihira 2015-04-22T17:38:00

Great typing mechanic to carry out attacks xD. Would have liked there to be more visible differences and effects between the different ball types. Also, I wouldn't call the weapon unconventional, but rather the way you use it :P.
Graphics were nice, so was the sound loop. Good luck!

Zoombies by sandrohaag 2015-04-21T17:22:00

Great art and music... Gameplay is fairly simplistic, but very well-executed. Good job and good luck!

Redeem by sc0de 2015-04-22T16:11:00

Bullets are being shot backwards (from both directions), and sometimes the catch sound of the bullet is not played (I guess due to the earlier sound not finishing yet)... gameplay can use more variety, and the bullets/enemies need to be faster. The theme needs to feature more as well IMO. Aside from that, cool entry, I liked the wacky graphical style xD

Good luck!

Sivo: Trial of the Lava God by rattower 2015-04-22T22:18:00

Concept is fine, graphics are nice, music played by the flute is all right, the only thing that needs a bit of tweaking is the jumping IMO xD Feels quite floaty. Maybe also to get the theme to feature more in the gameplay aside from just swapping weapons/songs. Aside from that, pretty cool! Good luck :)

Lemmebe by ppvk 2015-04-20T21:26:00

Pretty cool game, a bit lacking in content, but still pretty cool. Graphics + Humor carry this, I feel.

Good luck!

Pigeon Sniper by nutcrack 2015-04-22T09:06:00

Pretty cool concept... third level was pretty impossible because all of my "doo" would hit the old man due to the great wind, and was impossible to hit the salad.

Visuals were okay, sound effects were pretty funny. Good luck!

Dirk Sharp in 'AN UNCONVENTIONAL WEAPON' by oatsbarley 2015-04-21T22:31:00

Really liked the art and the sounds. Game is pretty cool. The only problem is the theme not featuring heavily in it... But still a good entry.

Good luck!

Triangular by pss 2015-04-21T18:11:00

Great aesthetic and atmosphere, well done! Gameplay could use more variation I think... Why did you opt out of the fun category? xD Would have scored well there IMO.

Good luck!

Uncatventional weeepon by lordxam 2015-04-21T12:45:00

Great audio and humor, I liked the Fishbone Throne at the end ;). I didn't have anyone to play with me so I didn't have as much fun as I would have liked... from what I understood you need to continuously bounce on the platform to get higher and higher right? That information needs to be relayed better; both the collision animation with the platform is wonky, and I can see many players not realizing what they need to do.

Other than that, good entry, and good luck!

Weight Lifter 2000 by Leon75 2015-04-20T14:37:00

Controls are pretty tight and the levels are well-put together. I feel that maybe you could have used the theme more in the puzzles, but it's pretty solid as it is.
Good luck!

Latvian Milk by Dreyan 2015-04-22T21:56:00

Dat description doe xD

The weapon feel is pretty incredible... graphics are good, so is sound. The only thing I can suggest to improve is to make the weapons more unconventional... they are called unconventional names and look unconventional, but they don't behave in unconventional ways...

Aside from that, very solid entry, good luck!

Scream(But not too much) by Embalaje 2015-04-22T07:54:00

Cool entry, liked the graphics and the music, and using the scream just feels so damn good xD

Good luck!

The Purrfect Crime by PabloLeChuck 2015-04-21T21:52:00

Nice take on the theme, I really liked the graphics and sound effects in this one. Gameplay was pretty straightforward... first keep clicking q, and then mash all three buttons... If the old lady had some different abilities and then you had to counter those abilities with your abilities, it might have added more complexity. Still pretty good for the time frame.

Good luck!

Food Fight by ItsYourPalMike 2015-04-22T21:17:00

I can see being a huge fun in a local LAN environment. You got the NES aesthetic down pretty accurately, graphics are really gorgeous IMO. Sound was also very appropriate. I did not notice there was a difference between the different food types (was playing alone), is there any? Otherwise the theme is not strongly featured xD

Aside from that, the entry is really fantastic, good on ya! Good luck :)

Celebrity Fart by lucien 2015-04-22T22:22:00

I didn't expect to like this but I did xD Great touches on the different food effects... pretty realistic too :P:P

Good luck!

Magnetic Pirate by player_03 2015-04-21T05:36:00

Pretty cool concept. I realize you didn't have time to finish it, but I don't understand why the player character has to move so slowly :P.

Hope you decide to flesh it out further.

You're Toast by rosy_tucker 2015-04-20T16:04:00

Are the pans with eggs supposed to not hurt the player? After a while they just gain more speed every level... I was able to just sit somewhere while they surrounded me and rack up kills without getting hurt.

Graphics are great, sounds are okay... theme could have been used better I feel... good entry!

Good luck!

Soul Breaker by DeadFragment 2015-04-21T12:34:00

Literal usage of the heart :) (and not correctly)
Pretty cool concept, graphics are great (esp. lighting effects), sound is good and adds to the atmosphere a lot.

My only complaint would be that the movement feels floaty and slow at the same time, and needs some time getting used to.

Overall a solid entry, good luck!

Shape Blaster by phantomas 2015-04-21T15:07:00

Great aesthetic and good explosion sound... game itself is pretty fun, but it's really random and needs a lot of luck.

Good entry though, good luck!

Guardian Against Shadows by Languard 2015-04-20T17:05:00

391 highscore. Is that good or bad ;)?

I liked it, would make the dog a bit faster, as currently you get overwhelmed too fast. Solid entry, good luck!

The Mighty Writer. by Miltage 2015-04-22T16:42:00

Fantastic entry... concept was awesome, so were the graphics. Sound was annoying a bit after a while, but still fine. I really like how responsive everything feels. Truly a story brought to life xD

Blackbird by aeveis 2015-04-21T05:42:00

Couldn't finish it :S Platforms stopped rising and I didn't know what to do, must have missed something.

I really liked the concept of a dive-bombing bird, and the graphics were pretty cool. So was the sound. Nice entry overall.

Good luck!

Minotaur by Wan 2015-04-21T21:58:00

Main character animations are very fluid, and the concept is great. The moving mechanic is interesting as well, but I wouldn't call it a "weapon" per se. Music was soothing and appropriate... solid entry. Good luck.

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Streamline by francoisvn 2015-12-15T04:21:00

Very cool game, minimalist graphics and sound suit it very well. Just when it started getting repetitive a new mechanic is introduced which makes it fresh again. Very well-made and well-paced.

Good luck!

Agent Hooker by Phoenix849 2015-12-15T15:43:00

Very polished, feels very complete. I liked the art and the sound (that Oh Yeah) was very, very spot on.

Needless to say, the usage of the theme is really well-done.

Great entry, good luck!

Concrete Jungle by Miltage 2015-12-14T11:08:00

Brilliant use of the theme. Awesome art, great music! The only "complaint" I have is that it ends too soon and is a bit easy. Other than that, wonderful entry! Good luck :)

DESEEDER by Zanzlanz 2015-12-14T08:17:00

Very slick and stylish. The 3 "big" seeds in the tutorial are a hell to get through xD

Amazing graphics, sound is fantastic, gameplay is straigh forward and very effective. Great work and good luck ^_^

UPSQUID by 01010111 2015-12-14T08:55:00

I liked your usual play on popular games/titles (bedhogg and now this).

Very solid entry, sounds are top notch, visuals are highly polished, and mechanics are well-tuned. Only suggestion would be to make it get harder faster, and to make the chain-combo timer run out faster the higher the combo counter is.

Excellent all around!

ORB LORDS by TravisChen 2015-12-25T10:05:00

Very well-made. Art and graphics were top-notch, and the idea is very innovative as it transforms the usual, boring pinball game into so much more. I especially liked the fact that when you use one of the orb lords, all devices in the "map" that are his color get activated while the other lord's devices get deactivated, added a good puzzle/timing element to the game without which you couldn't pass some of the levels.

Really well-done!
Good luck :)

Frogtale by rzuf 2015-12-14T20:51:00

Cool entry! Story was pretty cute, art is very coherent throughout, and music was calming and nice, and fit well with the sound effects. Controls were pretty comfortable and easy to get used to as well.

I would have liked to see the theme expressed more strongly, but it's a very cool entry! Good luck :D

Go Fish by joekinglake 2015-12-15T04:04:00

Graphics are really nice and the sounds are very calm. I personally found it very easy, I don't think I lost a single fish. I like how by design, growing makes it more difficult, because navigating the tunnels becomes harder.

Cool entry, good luck :)

THOSE GOD DAMN SHEEP!!! by jellycubestudio 2015-12-14T13:32:00

Neat concept, but waaaaay too hard. Could have used some background music as well, some country music tune or something :P

Cute artstyle!

GOod luck!

Beardgrow by esayitch 2015-12-15T05:46:00

Hi guys!

@FuzzyWuzzie: Controls need a bit to get used to, but once you master them you can pull off sick MLG moves :) Thanks for the kind words!
@yumaikas: Yup ;)
@irwatts: Thanks! Yeah it takes a while to get a feel for the movement.
@Ghen: Cheers! That's what I was aiming for :)
@jerry111zhang: Danny thanks you for the compliment ;)
@rosden shadow: I'm happy you found it humorous, I was worried only I would laugh at it :D
@fishtrek: Still honing the craft, this kind of feedback keeps me going, thanks!
@RadMcCool: Thanks! Cheers.
@doitle: Legit points, but you can actually jump over the bully on the lowest platform, even when you are in a corridor. It's difficult at first because Danny is slow, but the longer his beard, the faster he becomes, so you can definitely do it!
@mukult: Glad you liked it :D
@GenusNymphicus: Thanks for the kind words! It's rare to find someone that thinks my game could be more difficult ;) makes me happy!
@paraxite: Thanks, glad you liked it!
@madcoil: Hah, yeah, things life rarely work the way ninth graders imagine them to :)
@prymidion: Damn Kylie ;) I've learned to avoid her at all costs, even at the cost of falling down to a lower platform and getting rekt by a bully instead :P
@SomeKindOfOctopus: Yup, takes some getting used to, I agree!
@anael: Cheers!
@DivineOmega: Stubble isn't the worst, but it doesn't let you take Dora to prom ;)
@SecularBaron: Good to hear that!
@lekochen: Beards are pretty hardcore, I agree :P
@laFunk: Yeah, game can be frustrating at the beginning. Needs some getting used to :(
@danbolt: Well, you know what they say about a thousand monkeys on a thousand typewriters... I guess 1 monkey writing autotracker for an hour and going through the results is pretty similar, no :P?
@Firellon: Bullies can be tough, but there's only 1 that you have to avoid in the narrow passages below :P Even so, with some timing you can even leap over him inside the corridor! It needs some practice, not immediate by any measure :)
@Drtizzle: Thanks for the kind words, glad you liked the humor/story :D about the beating up, it's actually the "mildest" setback at only 3 second delay. The cheerleader shrinks your beard and Danny's mom and dad confiscate his contraband, so they are way more dangerous... which is why they are placed in positions where you are less likely to hit them if you're careful ^^
@fluidvolt: Thanks for your kind words! Yup, game isn't easy, I only managed to get the best ending once so far myself, haha xD
@jdoughty: Cheers!

2Fight by Julgodis 2015-12-14T09:25:00

Don't know why this was so fun but it was.

I really liked this, even though for me gameplay boiled down to randomly and haphazardly clicking both buttons, executing combos randomly. Seemed pretty effective ;) Maybe you need a cooldown on the bigger moves, like the explosion and the jump jump a (forgot its name).

Graphics are good, music is pretty cool, and win animation and enemy death animations are hilarious :D

Great entry, good luck!

Wargrow by Mixer 2015-12-14T05:55:00

Neat little game. Just standing there and spamming shift while occasionally dodging arrows seems to be a bit OP though :X

Run for shelter by psychomonster 2015-12-18T08:01:00

I liked the horrible reality that I would have liked to be able to have something that allows me to push people out of the way... it's pretty striking that when you are in a life-threatening situation most people have utter disregard for others.

Very powerful game.

Space Warrior by JanGames 2015-12-15T07:26:00

I really loved the usage of both themes in this, and the way that there is a risk reward thing with the growth. Normally you wanna kill all enemies, but here you can risk letting them live so you can absorb them. Pretty cool!

Good luck!

Zen Roots by nopogo 2015-12-16T08:18:00

Very calm and soothing, a very relaxing experience. The background music is very serene :)

Very good entry, good luck!

Ludum Party! by FuzzyWuzzie 2015-12-14T06:21:00

That computer is way way waaaaaaaay too good :P I really liked how much content was crammed into this, graphics were simple and effective, and sounds were spot on for the game.

Something weird I noticed is that when I clicked Q+E it didn't start, but when I clicked E+Q it finally did. No clue why. Maybe mouse was out of context or something and I'm just hallucinating.

Solid entry, good luck!

I've Bean Stalking You by Artylo 2015-12-14T10:40:00

I really dig the aesthetic here. The sounds are really ambient and haunting, very good work on that as well. Gameplay itself is a bit simple, the jumping seems a bit floaty and fussy. Other than that, pretty solid! Good luck!

Super Square by Integershift 2015-12-16T15:19:00

I liked the overall style of this, but like others didn't really understand why I would wanna be anything but the smallest thing possible xD

When I died it was because two obstacles were ramming into each other and there was no way to get through :(

Game was pretty good, good luck!

Flutter by cudabear 2015-12-16T07:46:00

Death animation startled me every single time lol xD

Very neat game :) Only suggestion would be to make the cat walk animation play faster, as it looks a bit choppy.

Sounds were great, idea and theme usage were also great!

Good luck!

Orbital by OldPeculier 2015-12-16T07:52:00

Very cool and well-made. I think I found out all the ways that you can fail a level during the first level, except maybe the off the pad one xD

Graphics were very suitable, and sound was very ambient and created a really nice atmosphere.

Overall I really enjoyed it, very well-made.

Longbeard by Joe Williamson 2015-12-15T04:27:00

Pretty fantastic as usual. Hope you expand on this, can be a full release with some more work on levels and additional beard usages :D

Flappy blue rabbit by Belvar 2015-12-15T04:35:00

I really dig the theme usage and the originality of the mechanics... makes me sad that the art is very simple and there are no sounds :(

With some work this could be a very awesome arcade highscore game. Well done, good luck :)

Growing Ties by drludos 2015-12-15T05:00:00

Very awesome concept and execution. Great usage of both themes. All in all a very, very solid entry :) Can't think of anyway to improve it honestly. Maybe add more patron-types?

Good luck!

Auto Racer by ethankennerly 2015-12-16T08:14:00

Nice game, could really use a soundtrack though :P

Gameplay feels smooth and I liked the blocky graphics.Good luck!

Knight vs. Mage by Thembi 2015-12-14T13:46:00

Pretty cool entry. Graphics are nice and the music is really cool as well. Well-paced and challenging. Good luck!

Surf a Turf by daandruff 2015-12-14T10:21:00

Great little game with lots of polish :)

Background tick gets annoying fast, otherwise it's a complete product :D

Good luck!

Man Simulator by Drtizzle 2015-12-14T13:37:00

Very quirky, in a good way. Art is really well-made, but the controls are rather fidgety.

Good luck in the compo!

Super Lefty Garden Fighty by hexagore 2015-12-15T07:21:00

Great entry! Very polished and well-rounded in almost every way, graphics are great, sound is suitable, and gameplay feels smooth and well-tuned.

Good luck!

Spectral Sprinter by Acuity 2015-12-16T06:58:00

Pretty difficult, but a really good concept. It's still very rough and unpolished but you should really flesh this out IMO, it can be a very good runner. I really liked how the two buttons allow you to do 4 actions, very smartly done.

The character sprite was not clean (one of the animation frames has a thin line at the right side that should probably be cleaned xD)

Good luck in the compo, I really liked the music as well :)

This Little Piggy by ruthiepee 2015-12-14T07:17:00

1246 pounds!

This is a really nice little package. Graphics are great, sound is very cool, and the gameplay itself is simple but gets challenging. I like how the theme fit into the gameplay: growing = become bigger. Become bigger = harder to move and dodge chefs.

The only thing I could think of improving is putting some decay timer on the food; if after 5 or so seconds, a food item is not picked up, it disappears. Why? Because the chefs gathered in one half of the kitchen, and I kept picking up the food in the other half. When 2 moved to the half I was in, I went into the half they were camping and picked up the massive amount of food that had gathered there.

Really nice, good luck!

Cyber Rider 2023 by Andrew Patton 2015-12-14T13:27:00

Well-made snakelike game. I liked the sound effects. Could have used some background music and touched up graphics.

Nice entry! Good luck :)

Garden Grow by justinooncx 2015-12-16T07:39:00

Very cool game. I loved the music in particular, I think some pixelart would have gone very well with the chiptunes xD

Good luck!

Bellows by TaylorAnderson 2015-12-16T06:49:00

Wonderful music, great visuals. Very cool idea and usage of the theme as well, but controlling the bellows is pretty tough xD Guess it needs some getting used to. Cool, stylish entry. Good luck!

Deceit by xWarZonex 2015-12-15T03:46:00

Could have done with another keyboard button instead of the mouse button... other than that, for someone who doesn't do graphics at all, the game looked good :) Music and sound direction are top notch, but I felt the game just lacked a bit of meat in terms of gameplay.

Cool entry, good luck!

Agglomatron by quadtree 2015-12-16T08:03:00

Pretty awesome use of the theme, reminded me a lot of Captain Forever :)

SFX were really good, but the game could have used some background music as well IMO. All in all pretty fun and a cool entry, good luck!

A Bullet Hell Style Shooter Where One Button Controls Both Shooting and Moving, While Another Button Gives You Slightly Sarcastic Motivation. by Fanttum 2015-12-14T06:03:00

Pretty funny voice acting you got there :P too bad you didn't have a lot of time to work on this... I could see it going places.
Even so, I think you could have written a small "endless" enemy generator after the boss that gets gradually harder.
Nice entry!

Space Elf by Farfin 2015-12-15T03:53:00

Stylish game and good idea. Graphics and sfx are spot on, but maybe add some background music?

Also, some ingame instructions would be useful, for instance I didn't know that you could knock turrets over until I stumbled upon one by accident and saw it fall over xD

Great entry, good luck ^^

Lifenodes. by Remicy 2015-12-15T14:49:00

Amazing, it's clear that a lot emotion has been put into this. The music, choices and art are all amazing. Gameplay is obviously lacking but of course it's not the point of this game.

Wonderful entry, thank you for sharing!

Captain Ninjabeard by GhostBomb 2015-12-14T12:42:00

You could probably sell this on steam right now. It's that good! Reminded me of Luftrausers in terms of game arrangement.

Great usage of the 2-button theme, as you both control movement and weapons with only 2 buttons.

Game was full of content as well, really brilliant stuff. Visually pleasing and audio was awesome too.

The only thing that I would improve is maybe putting a cap on the captain's maximum movespeed, as right now it felt really fussy controlling him with the shoot button held down. Instead I opted to fire in short bursts, only to better control the movement.

Wonderful! Good luck!

Runaway Rob by dkdwrek 2015-12-15T03:59:00

Heya, pretty cool game! I really liked the radioactive explosion animation xD There was a good amount of content there for a 24 hour game, good job! Audio gets repetitive and a bit annoying relatively fast.

Regarding gameplay, I felt the game was a bit too easy... whenever I had three "Actions" left, I'd just use them to get up fast, and then slowly regenerate them, so if I kept an eye on that I was basically unkillable :X

Good luck!

Droplet by madcoil 2015-12-14T09:31:00

Really solid fluid (lel) mechanics :P.Would have liked to see farther below (ahead). Graphics are ok, sounds are calm and very nice, even though the game can get hectic.

+ for using both themes, and the usage of the growing theme being very well-implemented.

Good luck!

Back on Earth by anael 2015-12-14T10:16:00

Game text can use some proof-reading, and some ambient sounds would a long way in making this more atmospheric.

That said, graphics are absolutely gorgeous, and the story was all right. I'm not sure if go to the end or not, but pressing r and e does nothing so I'm assuming I did?

"the future is in your hands" - is that the last sentence?

Really good entry :) Good luck!

Interview at Incredible Inc by EvanEGibbs 2015-12-15T04:17:00

Eh that damn boss... I failed the third interview :(

Cool concept and very well-executed. Good luck :)

The Flower by Sublustris 2015-12-14T06:12:00

Hi! The game was strangely atmospheric, which I really liked. Graphics and sound suit it well.

Controls were a bit fussy, and I would add a restart button. Finally a game that doesn't use 6 buttons and calls it "2" buttons :P

Panda and Squirrel by merrak 2015-12-14T06:41:00

Problem is vision. I think the game could benefit from a higher size? So you can see what is above you.

Some sound effects and bounce/screenshake would go a long way to immerse the player as well.

Excellent implementation of the themes, really liked this overall, graphics are fantastic. Very solid entry, good luck!

Ad Block by gmisail 2015-12-14T20:44:00

Very cool and effective. I liked the suitable artstyle. Music was cool as well.

Only suggestion I have is to add a sound effect for when there is a breach, and for when you click and there is no AD (and you lose score). In addition, I would make it so that that sound effect for a correct click refreshes; it happened several times that ads were close and the sound only played for when I blocked the first one.

Good job, good luck!

From the Deep by scorched 2015-12-14T10:58:00

Very cool! Obviously when you have the entirety of a platformer functionality in onl two buttons it's not gonna be as smooth as a D-Pad but it's really well done here. The level design was also pretty cool and challenging.

Graphics and sound can be improved though IMO.

Good entry, good luck!

One Man Spaceship by MrDave 2015-12-15T07:15:00

I tend to score highly in theme games that make 2 buttons do many, many things, and this one does that :)

Funny audio, cool game, and nice difficulty curve. However, by the end I was just randomly activating everything and hoping for the best xD

Good luck, great entry!

Mt Etubo by thebrickanator 2015-12-18T07:55:00

Really stylish! The idea of jumping to fend people off of somewhere was also pretty new and neat.

Good luck!

Yggshroom by Ghen 2015-12-14T06:59:00

Cool game. I'd make it so that the walking sound is way less frequent, as the walk animation is very slow and the sound is not in sync with it.

I like the fact that you used both themes. Game was a bit of fast fun. I finished it in slightly more than two minutes, is that good ;)?

Good luck!

Sickle & Sword by MSiddeek 2015-12-20T16:03:00

Very clever entry. It kept me hooked from the start :D Needless to say, some sound would have a gone a long way to making this more atmospheric :X

Below the belt by kill0u 2015-12-15T15:47:00

This could really use some music and at least some sound effects. Also, the game felt a bit like a 1 button game for two players :P

Aside from those two points, the entry is very solid, cool concept and well-executed. I liked the art and the game was pretty fun.

Good luck in the compo!

2 button metroidvania by JaJ 2015-12-15T14:55:00

Wonderful execution of the 2 button theme: using two buttons to do a wide array of actions! Art was pretty cool, and sound was repetitive but not annoying, very suitable as well.

Overall very solid, and the fact you made this in 8 hours is all the more amazing. Good luck, very well done!

Swarmonian Explorer by Teekeks 2015-12-14T08:47:00

Wow, you nailed the Growing theme with this, really slick and fun.

Music can be improved, and graphics as well, but the mechanics are insanely solid.

With some work this could be a full game that you can sell!

Good luck, awesome entry ^^

Trick Shot by RadMcCool 2015-12-14T07:08:00

Neat game! Graphics need a bit of improvement and the game could do with some music as well.

Also, it "feels" like the canon doesn't charge fast enough, meaning, if the charge bar fills halfway, I didn't feel like it shot far enough.

Nice concept and mechanics though :)

Good luck!

Button Betting by torcado 2015-12-15T04:32:00

Pretty cool, that hand chop animation was very well drawn :D

Minigames were well thought out and I liked that the player got all the feedback he/she needed to succeed in them.

Good job, good luck:)

JetTeam by Firellon 2015-12-14T10:25:00

Pretty decent game, graphics could use some polish. I would also increase the size of enemy ships, or decrease the size of the arena. Themes are not really expressed as much as they could have been.

Good concept though, and the sounds are pretty cool :D

Catch the White Rabbit! by danieldsj 2015-12-14T06:26:00

Great use of themes!

I would have made it so that when you grow in size, you don't jump like you do now, instead only when you shrink, due to the shrinkage, you become "higher" than you are and then fall. That way to jump over lava the player has to first grow big and then grow small.

Graphics could use some touching up, and a funky soundtrack would do this very well as well.

Neat entry, good luck!

Combat Hell by antonuklein 2015-12-15T03:41:00

Excellent entry, I mean the only thing that can be asked more of this is to have more enemy types + some actual upgrades at the shop :X Everything else is very top notch.

Good job, good luck!

Balloon Bullies by DivineOmega 2015-12-14T09:50:00

Cool game! Great use of the theme! Would have liked to control it with the keyboard as opposed to clicking a button on the screen.

Good luck!

HUNGRY BEAST by bazz_boyy 2015-12-14T09:38:00

This great for a first entry :D

Lacks a great deal of polish, especially in terms of graphics and sound... but also in gameplay, as it is fairly difficult to grow. I kept eating people to replenish my hp a little bit every time, but it was draining fast and when I got hit by bullets it was very hard to recover.

It is a very promising idea and aligns well with both themes, but like I said, needs polish, which I'm sure you don't need me to tell you ;)

Good luck in the compo and congratulations on your first jam :D

Grow Your Hoard! by jdoughty 2015-12-15T04:46:00

Pretty cool entry! Music got a repetitive fast though.Graphics were pretty :)

I'd maybe make it a bit more slow-paced, and make the guy control a bit more tightly, but that's a matter of preference I guess :)

Good entry, good luck.

Clouk by pixelpotions 2015-12-16T15:15:00

Sucks that you didn't finish :( Could have been a really nice game, I really dig growing the cloak mechanic.

The art was very nice though, and so were the sfx.

1minuteBaby by jeroenwimmers 2015-12-15T05:09:00

Unique idea, and very stylish minimalist art. Would have liked to see more gameplay elements.

Good luck in the compo!

NO HOBO by Teren 2015-12-14T13:23:00

I saved a dude's beard! FeelsGood

Cool little game, really liked the music. Good luck!

Fluffy Horde by publicidadeba 2015-12-21T20:23:00

Really liked this! Graphics were cool, and so was the story, very funny as well! Only thing I would add is maybe a sound effect for the bunnies. This reminded me a bit of Kingdom, so really good entry :) Good luck in the jam!

U.G.O by aamatniekss 2015-12-14T11:04:00

Very good, polished, and complete game. Even with only one level this would have been a good game, but then I grew into the second level and saw new enemy types and more difficult gameplay. Very well-implemented!

The only - I can think of is that it is a bit difficult, but graphics are beautiful, sounds fit in, awesome usage of the themes, and a lot of content.

Great entry! Good luck :)

Udder Failure by MaulUdder 2016-01-04T19:51:00

Very cool physics puzzler. The first level with spikes seemed like a sudden spike of difficulty at first, since there were many spikes, but it proved to be relatively simple. Could use a nice soundtrack :)

Melissa - A Game of Choice by Imagos Softworks 2015-12-18T01:35:00

Really liked this. What I especially liked is that the choice is actually whether or not to turn off the game. While I was playing 2 things were going through my head: 1) How is the story gonna end? 2) I really don't wanna keep beating this person up.
And the choice for me was between leaving the game and continuing. Once I realized that I just treated that as a game and myself as a not-sick person who enjoys seeing people get messed up, and I got to the ending.

It's a really personal choice and a powerful experience... a wonderful achievement.

Good luck!

GURU by TomenLuca 2015-12-15T15:01:00

Very stylish and original! Sounds got a bit repetitive but the game has a lot of soul (heh) and character. Great artwork, concept, and gameplay. Well-done! Good luck :)

Snow World by Elisée and friends 2015-12-15T15:08:00

Pretty fantastic game with a really cool battle system. Everything from graphics, sound, and gameplay is very well-made.

Awesome entry, good luck!

Another Dragon by GeorgeBroussard 2015-12-14T12:35:00

Falling boulders are a massive spike in difficulty, but the game is gorgeous and an amazing throwback to a bygone era. Really excellent entry, could have maybe used a sombre background tune.

Good luck in the compo!

LD35 — Shapeshift

Legend of Zeus: Love & Loaf by atraxgames 2016-04-24T08:29:00

Cool sprite work, could have used some chiptunes to go with it xD

Changelings by aeai 2016-04-30T13:08:00

Very cool entry, loved the lemmings-like mechanics and how you adapted them to the theme. Graphics were good, and I'm kinda sad there was no sound :(

Solid entry, good luck!

Getting shifty by Ithildin 2016-04-19T19:20:00

I really liked the Ikaruga-like mechanic, and the absorption mechanic. Graphics were simplistic and pretty and the effects were really good. Gameplay was fun and fast paced.

To be honest I can't think of anything off the top of my head that I would improve, except maybe to introduce new mechanics the more time passes as it got stale a bit xD

Otherwise beautiful entry, good luck!

Abyssal Dream by esayitch 2016-04-23T19:03:00

@fullmontis: Agreed, I needed to make combinations that only used UP and DOWN as pressing LEFT to use combo while you are going RIGHT makes you stop :(
@ginger9: It is challenging, I can't deny it, but I hope not in an unfair way!
@Prudiiarca: I actually think the transformation instructions are not clear enough, but I didn't have time to improve them :/
@kestrelgames: 100% agree on onscreen prompts, just couldn't get around to it on time :(
@Husky: Pretty weird issue! Can you tell me what browser/OS you are using? Maybe I can check it out and try to reproduce it :)
@nextreality: I agree that the controls could have been more streamlined... and I am sorry I couldn't add another area to the game to use the final 2 forms :(
@jdmazz: What is juiciness O.o?
@Aurel Bílý: I pretty much agree with all of your points xD I hate the anti-aliasing because I was going for a GB look and that alpha is anything but... I tried to find out how to remove it but didn't manage to find out how to do it on time :/ Regarding story, we wanted to put it a few cutscenes to show stuff that happened in the past, which would play after every memory was unlocked... but my partner was swamped with work and didn't manage to complete that on time xD
@rjhelms: It's not just you, the second area in particular is a spike in difficulty, I agree!
@ekkiiiii: Agreed about SFX, after playing it so many times myself they grate on me too xD Maybe in the future I will make the volume of the effects dynamic (the closer they are to the player, the higher, and if they are farther than a certain distance you can't hear them at all)
@RockhopperGames: I agree about the anti-aliasing :( couldn't figure out how to remove it on time. Reason for the combos is because I was going for gameboy aesthetic/limitations... the resolution and colors are similar to a Gameboy (except the text + the character sprite AA), and the two buttons (Jump and Attack) are similar to the two buttons of the gameboy... in that way all other functions had to make use of the D-Pad + those two buttons! Hence the combos. Not to say I hadn't considered adding 2 more buttons to transform each bodypart, but the only difference that would have made is to make transforming easier and requiring more challenging obstacles xD ++ there is a degree of satisfaction when you master the combos, so I went with that option :)

Abyssal Dream by esayitch 2016-04-30T20:38:00

@GodsBoss:
Glad you liked it! About the audio, yes it's intentional because I didn't create the music, it was bought from another developer... the sfx I made with sfxr, but they are minor compared to the music, so I thought it only fair to opt out of the audio category altogether.

Abyssal Dream by esayitch 2016-05-03T06:42:00

@rnlf: That actually is the right way, but I agree that the game is difficult xD if you don't feel like trying again, you can check out the playthrough :)
@neontropics: Glad you enjoyed it!
@csanyk: Then try going/exploring elsewhere first?

THIS IS AMAZING by JokerDen 2016-04-19T15:32:00

I think this would be awesome on mobile to be honest, just add a calm/soothing tune to the background!

Beautiful concept and even better execution. It starts a bit too easy IMO, I didn't find any challenge until level 7.

Aside from that, pretty awesome all around :D

Good luck!

Nightshift by Aurel Bílý 2016-04-20T05:53:00

Pretty awesome entry, feels like a complete game!

I loved the graphical style, sound was very suitable.

Mechanic is neat and well-implemented.

Only suggestion would be to make the button that advances the text not be the same button for attack, as while I was constantly holding it down to shoot, I would always advance the first line of text that would pop up before reading it :S

Aside from that, wonderful entry, good luck!

Tiny Blob vs Ultra Spikeball by Xaychru 2016-04-19T19:06:00

Controlling the blob felt very fluid and natural, I liked the various puzzles you put in.The game felt genuinely fun to play :)

Good luck!

The Long Night by Husky 2016-04-19T18:35:00

What a wonderful entry this is, the music is very moody and appropriate, visuals are top notch, and the concept and usage of the theme are both great :)

Keyboard controls for the sliders might have been preferred by some as sometimes I found it slightly difficult to get the sliders exactly to where I wanted them xD

Great work, good luck!

Look at your Feet by Verz 2016-04-21T08:46:00

Excellent entry. I can't say I enjoyed it because it isn't about enjoyment (I guess hence why no Fun category xD), but it struck a deep chord and resonated well.

Wonderful.

ORIKAMI by Mnemusyne 2016-04-20T11:09:00

Art style (both graphics and music) are insanely good. Great use of the theme as well, though I'd hoped the shapeshifting would have been slightly more "core" to the experience.

Good game, good luck!

The Purple Banana by xhunterko 2016-04-19T16:14:00

Is the order of the stream of people randomized? Because it feels very well-designed and the challenge is really good. I liked it, but it might need some improvement in terms of graphics and "feel". Could use a cool, happy soundtrack in the background as well :)

Morph Ranger by mrnannings 2016-04-20T11:53:00

I really loved this. Dunno why but the upgrades reminded me of Robot Wants. Art style was simple but very consistent. Sound was great too.

Found a small bug I think, when you are a tank standing next to destructible tiles and you shoot, it doesn't hurt the tiles for some reason.

Great entry! Good luck :D

News Anchor Simulator by thephantom 2016-04-19T18:21:00

Heya!

Pretty cool idea but I wish it used the theme more. Some "serious" newsroom background music would have helped as well!

Bennaja7! :D

Tommy is the Shapeshifter by ashdnazg 2016-04-20T14:52:00

Hilarious story and character, and the voice acting made it all the more funny xD

Good job, behatzlaha!

Down the Drain by nopogo 2016-04-19T19:24:00

Very cool take on the theme. Music would have made it really perfect.

The only change I would make it to make the shifting at will, not time based.

Other than that, really great. Good luck!

Glurge Purge by MiniBobbo 2016-04-22T23:47:00

Cool, neat little game. Dunno why but it also scared me a little bit. The fact that the dialogue from the people giving the assignments was expecting me to die every level didn't help.

I liked the art style, and the muted sfx added to the eerie atmosphere. Very cool entry, good luck!

Shifty's Shape Escape by grayhaze 2016-04-20T06:40:00

Hiya! I really liked the concept and it reminded me of Japanese game shows for some reason xD

SFX were on point, and visuals are cool as well.

I sometimes ran into a problem where I needed to press all 4 buttons, and I did, but the thing would only shape some of its limbs :( I think it's a keyboard issue though.

Good luck in the compo!

Bortman by Rscar 2016-04-19T18:42:00

Fantastic feel this game has. It was a blast to pull off sick maneuvers by flying up, switching to human form mid air, shooting pigs, and swapping to bird form right before hitting the ground and pulling back up xD

Suffice to say, great artwork as well. Could have used a good background tune I guess.

Good luck, wonderful entry!

Blackula the Vampirate by damrem 2016-04-20T06:21:00

Art is very pretty and the concept is interesting. Could have used more clarification as to what shapes are better against which ships and so on (shark always seemed to lose for me :S)

Good luck!

Stoopid Robats by Gravedrinker 2016-04-20T11:43:00

That skull breaker feels goooooood xD (but I didn't know if it was an obstacle or powerup, maybe put a small "pick up" over it or something?)

Music stopped after a little while as well.

Great graphics, nice idea, and cool use of the theme.

Good luck!

LD35 Fluffy Shape Racer by hnzlmnn 2016-04-27T17:09:00

Pretty cool, challenging game :) About the only thing I could "complain" about would be the music as it got repetitive and annoying for me. But that's really subjective.

Good luck, nice entry!

Turbo/Glide by rnlf 2016-04-21T06:49:00

Too difficult for me, but flying the plane was pretty awesome xD Even though it ended up in flames most of the time :'(

Graphics were suitable, sounds were pretty cool too, and the concept of shifting between car and plane on the go was pretty nice as well.

Good job, good luck!

In/Out Of Shape by Gabe 2016-04-19T16:18:00

Heya, I liked the concept of shifting between weights. Could have used some background tune (even autotracker would have made it happier IMO).

Nice entry and concept :)

Good luck!

Enester, the unexpected magician ! by sroelandt 2016-04-19T19:01:00

Hiya,

I liked the usage of the theme and the graphics look good!

Some sound effects would have made this even better.

The only suggestion I have is to improve the controls and the character physics, he handles way too fast and too fussy!

Good entry, good luck!

Pretty Kitty Katie by ruthiepee 2016-04-20T17:16:00

The sound effect when the kitty turns rabid is pretty funny xD

Like your last entry, the pixelart is top notch here as well.

Gameplay is a simple kind of fun!

Great entry, good luck!

The Lone Druid by leddkire 2016-04-20T16:52:00

Cool concept xD I wish doing a ritual would fill your bar completely, that would save tedious repetition. Other than that cool idea and nice music!

Good luck :)

Robot Escape by rjhelms 2016-04-20T06:17:00

I love rogue-lites so I dig this. The fact you managed to also effortlessly combine it wit the theme was also great. Art is simple and effective, and music/sfx was very suitable.

Overall a very well-rounded entry.

Good luck!

Go On A Journey by xWarZonex 2016-04-20T06:44:00

Dat voice-acting though xD

Dunno if it's intentional but in the tutorial the voice-guide reset.

Cool usage of the theme :)

Good luck!

Skywind Temple by Ogniok 2016-04-21T11:16:00

Man that bird is hard to control xD

About the only thing that bothered about this game was that it didn't run very fast on my laptop, but I guess that's my problem :P In addition, the blur got a bit painful after a while.

Highlights for me were the animations and the overall art style, top notch artwork right there!

Fantastic entry, good luck!

ShootShift by elkiwydev 2016-04-20T15:37:00

Excellent use of the theme, the graphic for each shape was self-explanatory which helped the learning curve. Graphics were great, so were sfx. Overall very good.

Good luck in the compo!

Shadow of the Red Hand by andyman404 2016-04-21T06:13:00

It's rare to see a theme so perfectly incorporated into the aesthetic/visuals of the game. Normally I see the theme used as gameplay mechanic or a story element.

This was very refreshing in that regard, very original, and the fact that it also affects the gameplay is also a big plus.

Fantastic entry, good luck!

Metamorph by RockhopperGames 2016-04-20T05:46:00

Lack of checkpoints with very floaty controls made it extremely difficult to progress :/ However I really like the concept of an exploration game where you gain abilities to shapeshift your character (in fact I made something similar xD).

Could have used some meaty sound effects and an ominious background tune.

Good luck in the compo and good effort!

Mechshift by sumguy67 2016-04-24T17:47:00

Pretty cool game! I liked how the shapeshifting is core to the game as opposed to a tacked-on addition, and that you often have to do it in clutch situations otherwise you are doomed :P

Graphics were all right, sound was pretty cool too.

Overall a very nice entry! Good luck :)

ASTRO by Megalink 2016-04-22T10:36:00

Cool game! About the only thing I would say could need some improvement is the graphics for the tilesets, that's all.

Gameplay is a weird sort of hectic fun that never gets boring, environments of different planets are varied, and there is a wide variety of enemies and bosses. A lot of content!

Great work guys, good luck!

Potionshift by ekkiiiii 2016-04-20T12:19:00

Hi there,

I liekd the art and the sound was all right as well... The theme could have figured more in the game IMO.

Solid entry overall, good luck!

AmeriMorph by squirrelbot 2016-04-22T10:29:00

Rofl dat voice acting xD

Pretty cool entry you got there! Artwork works well, and the sounds are suitable (especially the voice acting)

Would maybe fine tune the enemy rate of fire, make the bullets bigger so they are more visible. And there is some issue with collision (character sometimes is stuck on walls and needs to transform to get away) and also when jumping and hitting a wall, even in human form, you sometimes end up jumping very high.

Aside from that though, solid entry, good luck!

Shapeshifting Slime by pianoman373 2016-04-22T10:43:00

Pretty cool PoC, I think you can (and should) expand it :D

Contrary what you might think, a lot of people might score this highly even if it is incomplete, just because it is a really cool concept and very innovative (I gave top marks in innovation and theme ;D)

Good luck!

Siofra by QuestionableQuality 2016-04-23T21:56:00

Holy hell this scared me so badly. This is why I don't play horror games xD

This takes the cake in terms of mood, the ambient sounds and creepy visuals, even the choppy animations, contributing greatly.

Wonderful entry, good luck!

Desert Trader by WERT Studio 2016-04-20T16:46:00

Controls and handling need work IMO, and the theme could have figured in more prominently (like in handling the car or example, people from Hove are reckless and so the car is faster, etc).

Good effort, good luck in the jam!

Forge Rampage by Riftpoint 2016-04-19T15:24:00

Very cool concept, the game feels relatively polished for such a short time, well done :D Graphics and sound are pretty suitable too.

The only thing I would improve are the in-game instructions. It took me a while to get the hang of it.

Good luck!

Eggplant’s Dynamic Chimerization by DAT.NOT.MY.GAME! 2016-04-20T17:49:00

Loved the low poly artwork and the concept behind it (mating eggplants LOL). Sound effects and background music were good too.

Great entry, good luck!

Breaking Fat by SantiHisteria 2016-04-19T12:12:00

Liked the concept of shifting to whatever enemy you touch, but the movement felt sluggish. I guess that is part of the challenge though so no complaints there :)

Something that can be improved IMo is the hitboxes, they feel too big - my character is not touching the skeleton, but it suffers a hit and changes to the skeleton :(

Overall cool entry, good luck!

Phat Fishes by tentacode 2016-04-20T14:57:00

Liked the humorous air the game had, especially the end-game sequence (GTFO! GTFO! xD)

I didn't have someone to play with but I can imagine this being pretty fun when played together with someone.

Artwork was slick, sound is pretty suitable.

Great entry, good luck!

The Professional Shapeshifter by DivineOmega 2016-04-20T10:31:00

This was a very calm and relaxed game, I enjoyed it, except the parts when the interviewer said that that wasn't the answer they were looking for, as some of the answers I gave would work xD

BG Music was wonderful and really fit the game.

Only thing I would change/add is to make the intervierer sprite a bit more high-fi and maybe animate him for idleness, correct, and false answers.

Good luck!

SPELLDOWN! by pixelpotions 2016-04-24T17:44:00

Awesome artwork, makes me kinda sad there was no music to go with it :(

Usage of theme is a bit lacking, there are shapes, and when you win the opponent is shapeshifted, but it doesn't really affect the gameplay at all :(

Aside from that, pretty cool, challenging game! Good luck!

Out of shape by Osaft 2016-04-19T15:14:00

Pretty funny, especially like the sound effects, fall animation, and Shia :P

Good luck!

ShapeShepherd by liva 2016-04-24T17:35:00

Well, I finished it xD And I liked it, what was there at least. I liked the low-fi grayscale graphical style, and I liked the animal sounds. Could have used some calm background music though.

Cool entry, good luck!

Nyamo's Adventure by DDRKirby(ISQ) 2016-05-02T21:29:00

Insanely good music, graphics were pretty great too! All around wonderful entry :D

Buck Shift by bwalter 2016-04-20T15:34:00

I really dig the aesthetic and the sfx. Very polished. The enemies were pretty varied so kudos for that! And I loved the humor in the dialogue whenever you begin a new round.

Very stylish and "complete" entry :) Good luck!

Shapeshifter by Logun 2016-04-21T11:26:00

Cool puzzle game + art style. The music was calming and very suitable to this type of game.

Kinda wish the theme would have featured more prominently in it, but it's a very calm nice game now ^_^

Good luck!

An Abnormality by TheCain 2016-04-21T06:07:00

Well-written aside from the occasional typo here and there ("to close" instead of "too close" etc.), and the story had an eerie atmosphere.

Good entry considering the limited time you had!

Barrel Roller by Sandyloisa 2016-04-24T17:40:00

Loved the graphical style and the background music, not to mention the screaming the mafiosi do when barrels hit them xD

About the only thing I would nitpick is the fact that the theme was underused... aside from that, great entry!

Good luck :)

YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT by ratly 2016-04-22T13:01:00

YOU ARE FOOD.

Fine by me!

I liked the humor and the visuals in this one, pretty cool making a game about a popular saying and taking it literally xD.

Cool entry, good luck!

Mission: Decomposition by MurderPunch 2016-04-21T11:09:00

Great entry, very polished xD Who knew it owuld be so fun to control a maggot? I got a Binding of Isaac (the original) vibe from the aesthetic.

I wish there was a way to incorporate playing the flies into the game, as that would have featured the theme also in the gameplay as opposed to just in the graphics/story.

Aside from that, insanely good and polished work :) Good luck!

Spooky Shift by chefllama17 2016-04-19T16:34:00

Good job on completing a first solo entry :D

I dig the concept, shapeshifting your foes to progress through the game, pretty cool!

You can improve on artwork (or team up with someone). Could have used music as well (or at least opt out of it in the ratings in the future xD). There are some collision issues as well (getting stuck on walls when falling near them).

Neat concept, and I am sure the execution in future LDs will only improve ;)

Good luck in the compo!

Flipsy Shapes by Persimonn Pomelo 2016-04-19T12:30:00

Very well- made minimalistic game, and the level progression is very well-designed in that the difficulty ramps out gradually in each one :D

Dunno why but it reminded me of the Undyne fight in Undertale :P

Could maybe use some background music?

Cool entry, good luck!

The Profile by MerriGrape 2016-04-19T16:29:00

This was really well-written and got me thinking about we present ourselves in online media, what image we cultivate and angles we draw ourselves from for other people to see.

Very neat.

Some calm/sombre tune would have helped it, but that's just personal preference I guess xD

Good luck!

Shifter Slime by tybantarnusa 2016-04-21T06:34:00

I really liked the originality of this entry, and how when you're low on time it zooms out to help you.

It wasn't immediately clear what I was supposed to do, but when I found a saw and transformed to it it made sense.

Graphics were all right, usage of theme was great, and the game was pretty cool all around.

Why did you opt out of the Audio category? Autotracker tunes are perfectly fine to be rated (I used them a lot in my past entries!) because you still have to decide which one exactly to use and where, so there is some small work involved there xD

Good job, good luck, and welcome to LD :D

Cult Quest by solkar 2016-04-21T06:17:00

Hiya,

Graphical assets are top notch, I really liked them, but animation seemed a bit choppy. Sound was great!

Gameplay I think could have used some difficulty curve, maybe make the player run faster after a while? Gradually acquire new mask shapes? etc.

Cool entry overall, good luck!

The Elemental by Zormon 2016-04-19T12:20:00

The visuals are gorgeous and the sound is really sombre and suitable. This has a lot of potential, but it feels like the controls need a lot more tightening up as right now they are very fussy.

Good luck :D

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

A duck on ice by jk5000 2022-04-05T16:26:45Z

Voiceover was pretty funny for some reason, even though the words themselves were not funny... I liked it, I would suggest making the fans push the bombs farther and generally be more powerful.

PRO TAX SLACKER by pcmaster 2022-04-06T16:22:56Z

Perfect score! Just avoided the bathroom :D Cleaned floor, made bed, ironed, and did taxes. Very nice entry, best of luck!

Another Day in Space by ThePelranthean 2022-04-05T16:37:29Z

Liked the look and think explosions would improve. I know you said no explosions or sounds, so I went in expecting this, but the effect of some simple sound effects would have gone a long way. Otherwise I liked the movement of the ship it was fluid, and shooting was good too. Good game, best of luck!

DeckHex by Iluvatar 2022-04-05T17:07:44Z

The artwork is amazing, the voice acting is top notch, dialogue is great, a highly polished narrative miniature. Really enjoyed this one :D best of luck!

Volcano Maintenance by jefvel 2022-04-04T20:01:48Z

Great entry! Honestly enjoyed my plays of it :) the only nitpick is that the hitboxes on the baddies seem off? I saw fruit going through them but they didn't get hit :/ aside from this, I especially loved the fact you could load baddies into the catapult :D Edit: Nevermind, I just had to keep the LMB pressed to actually hit them :X

Feline Flood Fiasco by potatolain 2022-04-05T16:47:05Z

What a lovely throwback... a top-notch submission, and very impressive especially when considering it is a compo game. Now you made me want to look at your other games... :P Good luck in the compo!

A Thousand Islands, and One by esayitch 2022-04-04T08:21:14Z

@bangthewall "Right now the game lacks a bit of depth, as as far as I understood, I just had to wander the island until I find the treasure. I think adding a series of minigames to find treasures would benefit the game a lot, but that is not something one can achieve in a jam." This is indeed in the game, a few islands in. There is a surprise in island 5, and another in island 9, if you get that far... that aside from the various types of natives you encounter.

A Thousand Islands, and One by esayitch 2022-04-05T05:29:15Z

@moonblast ... And dodging projectiles from volcanoes and slaying dragons, and... ;)

@darandin You've actually found my (maybe too experimental, maybe too meta) interpretation of the theme - it is inevitable that players will leave the game at some point, never to return, I try to delay this as much as possible by:

1) Having countless islands, which is not enough by itself as they need to be compelling enough to be discovered... Which brings me to...

2) Hinting at great depth in terms of what there is to discover by careful management of "discovery", first of treasure types, then of different inhabitants, then of some preset surprises, then by combinations of all of the above. Naturally content is the main bottleneck during a 48 hour jam, so the illusion of depth was the trickiest part.

I'm glad you've spent time with it :D

A Thousand Islands, and One by esayitch 2022-04-05T17:59:40Z

@brusi That's more than what the vast majority will reach :D (and it is safe to stop now without losing much :X)

Crisis Bot by The Great Gallus 2022-04-06T19:08:09Z

Game froze when I was in the last powered room with 4170 score and 5% remaining in it.

I really enjoyed this, it required space management and making quick snap decisions like "do I stop for this non-critical issue because it is on the way? or do I go first for the critical one"? the sound ,while spartan, made the atmosphere seem more alien, so it was very fitting.

Great entry, best of luck!

Chicken Dinner by Brusi 2022-04-05T15:19:39Z

Great work as usual, guys, loved it!

Rising wind Island by ShivArt 2022-04-04T17:28:47Z

Addictive idle game with great graphics... Towards the end I just saved up 80 food and with one burst reached the white roof :)

Super Crusher Fighters by Vectrex28 2022-04-05T16:54:27Z

You can probably sell this. Awed by the amount of polish in it, amazing stuff, best of luck!

Tax Mage by cagibi 2022-04-04T07:36:13Z

Great art and balanced game, the tense tug of war of trying to maintain mana to shoot a flying drone (or the minister) while not using it to jump around was very clever. "Nothing in life is certain but death and taxes" :P

ZEZ by tengusheath 2022-04-04T20:26:10Z

Is 241 any good? Enjoyed it very much!

Atlantis by lisyarus 2022-04-04T08:18:57Z

Was a very interesting game, the core gameplay mechanic of discarding / buying a card is very addictive somehow. Weighing the benefits of building a fishing building that will be swallowed by water requires quick calculation, but you don't have enough time to calculate. Great!

Cup Half Full by BangTheWall 2022-04-04T08:33:10Z

Enjoyed it! I was first approaching it as tetris, but it is different. The bounciness makes certainty not a thing, so I just picked a block from the lower ones and lifted it up in most cases, betting on the others falling into place. When there was one empty square in a a row, I tried grabbing a piece with a bomb and putting the bomb there, so it added another dimension of thought to it. I liked this game. Graphics and sound were also very "bouncy" :P

Keep Cool by Nebiros 2022-04-05T22:16:14Z

Loved the graphics and the sound effects (especially the jump) were really suitable. The only improvements I can think of: Having the controls mapped to more natural buttons? The buttons make sense for an FPS (I put my hand on my mouse when I read how to play), so maybe different controls would have been more intuitive. and Making character movement more fluid (heh). Great entry otherwise, best of luck in the compo!

Trashy Towers by TinyWhaleCloud 2022-04-05T22:21:57Z

Cool game! I liked the humor in the instructions :) If there is one thing I would improve, is making the behavior of the trash pieces less "bouncy" so their positioning can be better managed and feel less chaotic, but that's just me. It's good as is!

Venting Machine by EmberUshi 2022-04-04T20:48:23Z

Enjoyed my few plays, the lovely art is just icing on top :D
